I have a few theories (nonsensical ramblings) for S3 of Squid Game: NON TIKTOK-IFIED THEORIES! (A.K.A. no "Jack and Jill" theories)

(I am writing this instead of my Sociology paper, btw)

Ok, so I have, realistically, been able to match up all of the S2 games to some of the S1 games, as follows:

Red light green light is in both games, so that one is scratched.

I am going off the assumption that Squid Game is the final game for all of them, so I am scratching that one as well.

SO, that leaves, in season one, Dalgona, Tug-of-War, Marbles, and Hopscotch.

I have matched up Tug-of-War with the 5-legged race (I forget what it is actually called). I matched these up because it is a large group of people, working together, chained together, to win against another group (technically).

Marbles is matched up with Mingle, given the amount of similarities. The games, however different, are mainly similar in the deaths. I also think that it makes the audience see where the player's priorities lie (Gi-hun tricking 001 in S1; who picks who in groups of 2 in S2; etc.)

This leaves Dalgona and Hopscotch, which don't have matches, which means that there will be similar games in the next season.

There will be an individual based game, similarly to Dalgona, where it is everyone for themselves, no teams. There will also be a game like Hopscotch, where it is one person after the other, and people ahead of you dying positively impacts your chance of survival.

SO, what games are going to be next? I have a few ideas.

◈ London Bridge: I am not sure if there is a Korean version of this game, but it pretty much involves two "kids" making a "bridge" in between them with their arms. They sing a song, and when the song is over, whoever is underneath the "bridge" is out of the game. The only problem with this theory is I don't know where the "train" traffic light would come into play. Maybe to signal when the bridge is about to close?

◈"Monkey Bar Wars": This isn't, as far as I'm aware, a children's game, but it is the only Korean game that I could find that would represent the people hanging and climbing on the wall of the dorm in S2. This is different than ordinary monkey bars, given you are trying to knock the people opposite of you off while hanging there. The only problem with this is that I know it wouldn't be for the next game, and it doesn't really match up with either Dalgona or Hopscotch, so I am not sure if it would work.

◈Hide and Seek: This is one of the weaker theories of mine, but I think it would still be an interesting game for them to play. Also, there is a Korean version of this game called "숨바꼭질" (literally hide and seek). There are multiple variations of the game in Korean.

◈The variation that works best: In this version there is a "base" where the hiders are supposed to touch. If they touch it/reach it before the seeker finds them/touches them, they win. If the seeker finds them/touches them before they reach the "base", however, they loose and are eliminated. I think that, in this variation, all of the players are "hiders" and the "seeker(s)" are the girl and/or boy in the trailer. The players have to both hide and make their way to a "base" without being caught or they are eliminated. I don't like this theory much, because it is 1: too close to Red light green light, and 2: not matching up with my base-line theory of a Dalgona/Hopscotch match-up.

◈ A turn-based game- theory based on @ pragooosmerah 's video on tiktok: Do i think that this video was absolutely insane and not in a good way? Like locked up in the looney-bin seeing people in the walls sort of insane? Yes. However, the end result of the theory "Hodie Mihi Cras Tibi" or "My turn today, yours tomorrow" got me thinking. The boy and the girl in the trailer are on opposite ends, and the walls behind them are sunrise and sunset, today and tomorrow. I think that this will be a turn-based game where the train will pass through each side of the room. And you have until the train leaves to make your move. For example, if you are on the "sunset" side, you have until the train gets to the "sunrise" side to make your move. Now, I don't know exactly what this game will be, but people have said things like "human chess" due to the mural on the wall. However, I think that "Hitting Tombstone", or "비석치기" is an option, given the crosses that are in the mural, and the fact that there is a "mirrored" board, or two boards, which might mean teams. "The objective of Hitting Tombstone is to balance the player’s tombstone on their body for the maximum duration of time while simultaneously knocking off all tombstones possessed by their opponents." They could do this, or a version of this, that is in a sort of "chess board" set-up maybe. Again, these are all just me spit-balling ideas. (This one was literally me typing while thinking so... do with that what you will)
