I may not look it but i used to watch ft!!

I've been rewatching some of the episodes and im still wishy washy on whether or not I want to redesign all the characters but here's some recent and old character sketches!! I've been playing around with their designs but trying not to deviate too far so that the characters still look like who they're supposed to be

Idk if anyone would wanna see me redesign/rework every character but I'd post em if there were people who wanted to see that.

Here's the rundown for those who are interested:

My basic ideas for fairy tail are to make every character a fantasy trope/creature/class/myth. Some of the characters will change into a different thing over time as they gain experience. I feel like fairy tail has a lot of potential to write a more modern fairy tale type story because of the whole wizards and magic thing. With dragons and princesses n everything. This is obviously present in the story, but i really want to reinforce that idea. there are some characters who I think really fit this, like Erza (obvi main knight of the story but also has the title of titania queen of the fairies) and natsu (obviously dragon as an mc, sort of a role reversal of the evil dragon. and maybe a fun demonic plot twist haha). But with other characters i may need to make more changes. Lucy is a loose version of the princess (with a fun runaway backstory), but I want her to evolve into a priestess. Grey kinda has nothing going on for him imo, the ice wizard thing keeps throwing me off every time i try to project something onto him. I think i'll go with a hunter -> demon slayer thing. He just happens to use ice magic. i don't wanna go with regular wizard because thats a bit boring lmao. It would also make the elemental thing between natsu and grey funnier bcuz he's a spooky demon and that guys a hunter so you guys REALLY shouldnt get along. They do anyway because the power of friendship lol Anyways that's the basic plan? even if i dont post it on tumblr just know its cooking in the back of my head. thx for reading all this haha

Just My Thoughts Pt. 34

If you discuss growth in FT characters and leave out Lucy/Wendy then you’re so wrong. These two girls have started at the lowest level and grown up so much. Quickly summing up Lucy’s growth from a celestial mage that started her magical journey at a very late age (compared to most of the other FT members), she’s the holder of multiple golden Zodiac keys, knows several spells including Gottfried and Urano metria (and of course the new ones in the 100 YQ), can use one of the grand fairy magic (fairy sphere) and has Star dress. That’s just the major parts of her growth as a mage.

Now for Wendy, she’s grown so much as a person and a wizard. I love her commitment to FT. I wonder how often she remembers her old guild because that was a very emotional moment for her to realize they weren’t truly real. I am so glad to see her dive into her dragon slayer magic (her dragon force mode is peak I love the design) alongside her enchantress powers. This is one thing I am so happy Mashima added because it’s perfect for Wendy. She’s truly power considering how young she is and how much potential she has.

For the remainder of the 100 YQ I would love to see more of her enchantress abilities, casting spells and enhancing her magic. Maybe a unison raid with Natsu. Honestly any unison raid would be acceptable. It’s something I thought would be more common but was put on the side like everything else I had high expectations for. Lucy and Juvia need to do another one since they were very first example. So maybe Natsu and Gray can have one or even Natsu and Lucy (to satisfy my NaLu needs).

Back to Wendy, I would also like to see more of her relationship with Sherria. Speaking of which, how’s her return to magic going?! I am sure Wendy does her best to provide as much support and positivity as she can. I would also like to see more of Wendy, Lucy, and Erza as almost a sister bond and wholesome moments between girls who went through so much together that’s not a battle or anything violent. Maybe a filler shopping spree or lunch outing just to relax and enjoy the moment. It’s something Wendy (and all the others need) since she’s still a child. She needs to have the positive vibes too.

I’m just going to add Happy and Carla on here because I just have one major thing I need from them. Did they ever realize the other Exceeds were their parents? Did they ever go to interact with them? How are they doing?! Honestly they could’ve had more involvement considering their flight is very useful. I just want to Happy to know his parents are proud of him and love him. I want Carla to know her mother feels sorry for what she did in the past and that to some extent an actual princess.

I was Wrong about Wendy Marvell

I used to say for years and years that when Wendy and Carla joined Fairy Tail is when the series as a whole began to go downhill. In retrospective, it is when the show had begun to change its course in a way that I did not understand at the time. A more mature series was going to emerge and that was something I was not ready for.

While I dislike Carla still and find her character a little less than irritating, I have to say for many years I was wrong about Wendy Marvell. Wendy to me was the connection between the series going downhill in my eyes and I couldn't look past that. Now I know that she is probably one of the best developed characters in the show.

This will definitely be long fair warning and I will without a doubt bring up 100 Year Quest. I just cannot speak about her character without bringing it up. I mean I could, but I would feel like this is incomplete. Please keep reading though if you care to. If you dislike Wendy or believe she is weak then I beg you to read this.

Wendy was a character I felt no attachment to despite watching Fairy Tail for the first time when I was around her age. I cannot tell you how I felt about the Oracion seis arc when I first watched it, but I can tell you it was mixed feelings. At some points I was excited that the series was going somewhere and we actually had a reason for the mention of dark guilds. Another part of me, however, was upset that the series I loved so much for its silliness was taking a turn for the darker side of things.

Carla's characte rI never could like. She was too bossy for me and her selfishness and outlook for only Wendy never sat right with me. However, Wendy... well I felt indifferent about her. I believe it only turned to dislike due to connecting her with when Fairy Tail changed so much. Even now, after putting aside my feelings for the change, I feel indifferent to Wendy first appearing.

Wendy begins as the weakest member of the alliance in the Oracion Seis arc, well besides Carla and Happy. She did bring the interesting concept of a female dragon slayer that was also a child. She helped greatly but due to her small size and strength she could only go so far.

On the other hand, Wendy's personality I always found to be sweet and I know now it makes so much sense for her. She was a girl that lost her parents, who she now doesn't remember, and then her dragon mother. She was a scared child left to fend for herself until Mystogan had found her. Then after he brought her to Cait Shelter, he left too. Honestly, it is no wonder why Wendy had so many emotional issues at the start and was hyper sensitive. By the age of 12 she had lost her parents, her adoptive mother, Mystogan, and Cait Shelter. We also learn that she had gotten separated from Anna Heartfilia and the boys so you can count that as a loss as well.

My thoughts are is that Wendy may have developed an idea of abandonment, which is why she is scared to mess up when she joined Fairy Tail and was apologetic. She was most likely nervous she would be kicked out if she wasn't strong enough and didn't prove herself, which set her off on a path to get stronger. Not to mention the idea of wanting to protect her friends.

By the Grand Magic Games you can see just how much Wendy develops. Sure she may have been struggling prior to that and wasn't too reliable on Tenrou Island, but by GMG she had grown so much. I'm sure by then the concept of Fairy Tail abandoning her had left her mind and after Edolas Carla was guaranteed to stay at her side.

Speaking of Edolas, side tangent here, poor Wendy had to watch her guild be taken away once again and then later learned that her own cat was supposed to be turning her into Edolas which would've led to her death. This poor girl has endured so much.

With Grand Magic Games, we see a new side of Wendy. That fragile girl is a bit more toughened up thanks to her "older siblings" aka Team Natsu. As soon as she is able to participate in the games once again, she does. She doesn't care who she has to fight if she can bring back smiles to her guildmate's faces after 7 years. It is during the GMG that we see her first interaction with Shelia, who becomes her best friend (and if you ship it then love interest). These two have such a dynamic that I love. Although they have to fight for a win for their team, the two compliment each other and act like...well... young girls. They don't need bickering about how their guild is naturally better. They don't need the blind insults thrown at each other despite not knowing one another. They just act like girls that just met and they just so happen to have to fight. This is also the first time we see Wendy fight someone that is meant to be on her level. Its not some strong mage from some dark guild or giant dragon, just another girl like her with rare magic.

Considering Wendy's main spells center around healing or status buffs, watching her go head to head with a god slayer is entertaining. Of course she does have the one weakness that she can only heal others while Shelia is able to heal herself, but she continues to push forward. This earns her a tie with the girl, which in Wendy's case is a big win.

This doesn't even delve into the fact that in the same arc we have seen Wendy summon a dragon from a weak life force left behind and help take on the dragons.

Wendy's arc really reaches its peak at Tartaros when her and Carla are up against Face. They have grown so much over the course of Oracion Seis that they are willing to give up their lives for the Fairy Tail guild to succeed in their job. Not to mention Wendy coming in full circle with her Dragon Force coming in at such a young age. You could argue she knew about Dragon Force and therefore knew something to work towards, but she transformed into Dragon Force and fought a Demon of Tartaros at just roughly 12-13!

She is continuing to grow in 100 Year Quest, which is something that I am enjoying the watch of. While there isn't much to the characters I enjoy anymore in that plot, seeing little Wendy mature with the help of Irene is nice to watch. Unfortunately with the departure of Irene we haven't gotten much out of Wendy afterwards.

This doesn't even mention the fact that Wendy has some of the best interactions with characters due to her age. They are protective of her and know just how dangerous being in a guild could be, as some of them were even in it at her age. However, she tells them she isn't afraid and you can just see the proud look on their faces. This is especially true when it comes to Erza, who invited both her and Carla into their guild with open arms.

Just please watch Phoenix Priestess and pay attention to all the Wendy scenes. When she obviously could be scared as they are going up against an entire army in a kingdom, she tells them that she can't be scared because of having to rescue a friend (Eclair) who they just met.

If Fairy Tail isn't worth watching for those characters that are already extremely powered up such as Natsu or Erza, Wendy is the person to watch it for. It makes the experience much more enjoyable when you take into account where she started and where she ended up.

That was pretty long, but I still could go on forever just about Wendy alone. But what do you all think about her? Maybe you guys thought or still think the same thing that I did. I'm curious to know.

"Sky Dragon: Wing Attack!" She uses her Sky Dragon Slayer magic to assist Law with defeating their foes, causing them to make quick work of the ones left. In the time they have travelled together, Wendy has become more willing to use the more offensive side of her powers, specially so as to not place Law in any unnecessary danger.

Shortly after the fight is over, she is quick to head to his side, checking on any injuries he might have to apply her healing magic. "It's good that you aren't too injured... this should be quick. Just stay still for me, okay?"

you tried not to make it obvious, but it was getting harder by the second.

just why the hell was it so cold?

it had been like that for the entirety of the mission but bearable in the midst of everything. natsu and gray's bickering, coupled with light chattering with lucy and erza had been enough to keep your mind off of it on the trip here, and then once you were in the thick of it, it was pretty easy to ignore too. fighting, after all, built up quite the sweat.

but now? with no sun and just the dark, lonely sky, and a sleeping bag that was as thin as the shirt you were wearing it? it was so much more harder to ignore now.

a glance over your shoulder to your teammates tells you they're pretty much all asleep themselves, except for natsu who'd elected to keep first watch. happy had first volunteered to join him, but twenty minutes in you'd heard natsu chuckle affectionately and send him off to bed too.

so, that left just him and then the rest of your teammates peacefully asleep.

your eyes flicker to lucy next to you; you could ask her if she wanted to share a blanket and sleep close for warmth. you knew the girl never really wore the most appropriate clothing so she wouldn't mind and it wasn't like it was your first time ever having to share a sleeping bag before.

but.... but she looked so peaceful. her eyes shut and her lips parted just slightly as her chest rose and fell with soft breathes and you remember how she'd gotten hit partically hard earlier in the fight. the large bandaged bruise on her cheek a swift reminder and you didn't want to wake her up especially when rest was probably the best thing for her.

not to mention, wendy was off with gajeel and levy for a mission so she didn't have wendy's soothing healing magic to ease any of the pain.

yeah. no. you definitely were not disturbing her.

you glance to your other teammates. you loved gray, but he definitely wouldn't warm you up—if anything, he'd probably just make you more cold. erza wasn't an option either. you'd made that mistake once before and your head still hurt from being slammed against her armour (which she wore to bed, of course) and then kept against it for the entirety of the night.

happy was nice to cuddle with but he wouldn't keep you all that warm.

finally, your eyes flicker back to natsu. his back is turned to you and he's sitting crossed-legged by the edge of the camp, completely in his own world. he'd be warm, the warmest out of everyone, given him being a fire dragon slayer. but... the thought of... of asking him to warm you up brought an instant flush to your cheeks, embarrassment coursing through your entire veins and that idea gets reected instantly in fear of your feeligns.

so, relectantly, you're turning back around, letting your head fall against your thin pillow again.

you shut your eyes, forcing them shut and pull your knees to your chest, holding your blanket tight against you, praying that even just a bit of warmth will allow you to fall asleep.

a cold burst of wind has you shivering a second later and your teeth practically chitter against one another and you give up on sleep all together then.

with your blanket still wrapped around your shoulders, you make your way to where natsu's sat, sitting an appropriate distance from him.

"y/n?"

natsu's voice is soft, an odd tone you've never really heard on him before as his head tilts to face you, confusion written across his face.

"what're you doing up?"

"couldn't sleep," is all you offer in explanation, pulling your blanket closer around you. sending him a soft smile, you gesture behind you. "you can head to bed if you want. i can keep watch."

for a split second, he looks like he's gonna agree, the exhaustion clear on his face as he moves to thank you. then, wind brushes through the camp once again that has your hair swishing and your shoulders pulling in, a hiss leaving your lips as you try to fight through the bitting wind. natsu halts to a stop.

"why couldn't you sleep?"

you barely realize natsu's asked you a question until suddenly his face is right in front of you, concerned.

"o-oh!" you let out, startled, leaning back and using your hand to catch yourself. regrettably though, just the mere presence of natsu so close already makes you feel warmer. "it's no biggie!" you laugh off lightly, despite how good he feels so close. "i was just a little cold so i thought—"

whatever you're about to say gets promptly cut off the second you're being pulled flush against a firm chest. it all happens in a second. it's like you blink and suddenly you're being lifted off the ground and into a lap where a pair of arms wrap snuggly around your waist and you're completely surrounded by warmth.

"n-natsu!"

"here," natsu whispers, gruffly and it nearly sends you into a heart attack. "i'll keep you warm."

you blink, turning back to see him grinning brightly down at you. that same toothy grin natsu always has and the same one that always sends flutters through your stomach and has your heart racing madly against your chest.

you can barely stand it in general and even less when it's directed solely at you.

"oh," you manage to force out. "you—you don't have to, natsu!" you wingle in his grasp, trying to scoot off of his lap, but natsu's grip stays tight around you. "i meant what i said. you should get some rest and—"

"y/n?"

"...yeah?"

natsu's grin fades but only to turn into something softer. a warm, gentle grin falls on his face as he shakes his head. "you're practically shaking. you even feel cold, and that's a lot coming from me." you frown, just then realizing how cold you really had been. "it's fine. i offered to keep watch in the first place and besides? who better than me to keep you warm, right?"

there's a possessive edge to his tone that you don't quite catch.

the way he says it so nonchalantly has you absolutely reeling. so much that all you can manage in response is a weak hum and a nod as you turn back ahead of yourself, slowly and cautiously letting your back fall against natsu's chest.

"comfortable?"

you can feel his chest rumble as he speaks.

"y-yeah," you nod, letting yourself sink into his touch more, unable to deny how warm he is. a good warm. a really good warm. you can already feel the exhaustion you'd been feeling all day catching up to you as your eyelids grow heavy.

"thank you, natsu."

you say it just as your eyes fall shut, unaware of the warm smile natsu glances at you down with as you fall asleep in his arms and in his lap.

"no problem, y/n/n."

"damn, natsu, i didn't think you had it in you."

"shut it, droopy eyes."

"hey—!"

"they're in loveeeee~!"

"seriously, though, natsu. i... i certainly wasn't expecting to wake up to this."

"yeah, natsu. if you forced her, i—"

"what! no! what kind of guy do you take me for! i didn't force her to do—"

you let out a moan at the flutter of noises overwhelming your senses. all you can really register is how warm you are and how comfortable you are. the thought that you could stay here forever crosses your mind and you move to just go back to sleep, and then—

then. you remember everything.

being cold. unable to sleep. going to natsu. and then... then him pulling you into his lap and—

you snap awake, bolting out of natsu's arms who pulls back in surprise at your sudden movement. it takes you a second, blinking the sleep out of your eyes, before your gaze shifts from natsu who's smiling at you, with a faint pink to his cheeks, to the rest of your teammates stood in front of you.

gray looks smug, sending you a smirk as you turn bright red. erza looks utterly confused, her eyes snapping between you and natsu. happy is barely able to contain his laughter. and lucy's looking at you like you've grown a second head.

it occurs to you that you should say something.

turning to them, you raise your hand; "it isn't what you think."

"it's exactly what you think."

"natsu!"

Gajeel and Wendy

They are just so brother-and-sister-with-a-large-enough-age-gap-that-they-often-get-mistaken-as-dad-and-daughter-core its insane.

Add levy and they literally look like a little family when they go out in public . I could totally see gajeel trying to steal wendy from team natsu with the excuse that she looks like gajeel and levy’s secret lovechild. Erza of course doesn't let that happen considering that Wendy could also be her and jellas secret love child, but she doesn't say that and instead says that changing Wendy’s team would be too much paperwork, so she cannot possibly transfer to Gajeels team.( the paper work doesn’t exist everyone is too scared to call her out on it though)

I feel like Wendy already considers most of the men in the guild to be her brothers but especially gajeel and natsu because not only do they have the same magic type, but they were literally raised together. Just the idea that gajeel,natsu, and wendy have a little dragon slayer get together ( they invite laxus and occasionally he pops up) where they do dragon things like stuff their mouth full of iron, fire, and sky(?), talk about their childhood and just be a little feral as a treat for being all proper( having basic human etiquette ).

Imagine gajeel letting wendy put bows in his hair because he wants her to feel like a kid for a bit longer and its remind him of of metalicana(?) playing with his hair. Or Wendy giving gajeel a talk about how he's going to be a great dad to his and Levy’s kids because he is already such a great brother. Or gajeel seeing how he wants his kids to be when they grow up while looking at Wendy. Think about Wendy being dragged into a guild brawl and absolutely blowing through everyone and gajeel standing there all smug because that's his little sister!

Imagine the guilt Gajeel feels knowing how many times Wendy has been abandoned at her young age. How he tries to train her to be stronger. If they get their memories back, how they compare the people they are now to the kids they started off as.

Think of the Sibling angst possibilities of Gajeel not being anything, how Wendy remembers him due to his tough life in phantom. Think about how much of each other's lives they missed? The possibilities are ENDLESS.

More Dragon Slayer Headcannons

Uhh holy shit the last one blew up like crazy, so here I guess have more dragon slayers being creepy.

Because they have more air in their lungs they can hold their breath for a stupidly ridiculous amount of time, they’re also excellent swimmers.

They have really dense bone structure but hollow air filled bones so they’re all extremely sturdy, they also have much denser muscles which leaves them unnaturally strong.

The more they use their dragon slayer magic, the more dragon like they become both in physical appearance and personality as over time it starts to slowly show up in their personalities, they become territorial and protective of what they deem to be ‘there’s’, they growl at people as a warning to back the fuck off, they bear their teeth as a sign of aggression, as for the physical their eyes will take on an unnatural glow, Natsu’s becoming orange like embers glowing in the darkness, Laxus’s become electric yellow, Gajeel’s become like brownish rust red and so on, their teeth become longer even the way they walk and carry themselves becomes more inhuman, they way they fight becomes like that of a beast only not wild, extremely intelligent and cunning to a frightening degree.

They naturally seek out their own element, almost like a honing instinct, Laxus tends to travel towards storms, while Natsu often travels as much as he can to hot places where fires are likely to start, Gajeel always visits a city’s junkyard, Rogue always finds his way to dark, pitch black caves while Sting always climbs to the highest sunniest peaks he can to bathe in the light, Wendy frequently visits high up or isolated mountains to be closer to the sky.

Dragon Force effects more than just their magic, it also effects their personality and they can become almost completely different people entirely retaining only their base most present thoughts from before hand with their instincts often telling them to do one thing only; defeat whatever enemy is in front of them.

They’re also in part nocturnal which is both inherited from their magic and because it was how they where raised, while it varied from dragon to dragon, most preferred to hunt and move at night-time due to the fact less humans where active at night and they could see perfectly well in the dark which made avoiding humans easier. Both Laxus and Erik are also semi-nocturnal because of this and most dragons slayers find it difficult to sleep at night as their brains are hard wired to be active during the period most humans are sleeping. The only acceptation to this is Sting who while he can use his magic in the dark, it doesn’t work nearly as well as it does in the day time.

They heal at an incredible fast rate, almost double the spend of a normal human. Though they can’t regrow limbs or anything like that, this incredible healing ability makes it easier to survive severe injuries and wounds. Laxus however using electricity can stimulate the cells in a particular area to heal even faster than other dragon slayers however overusing this technique leaves him severely exhausted and if he used it too much he’ll overload his entire nervous system and just collapse.

They have such a cute friendship!

I adore the Sky Sisters friendship and I want to see more of them! I also heard that these two could be cannon, which I'd would love to know if it's true or not. So yeah, ship them platonically and romantically.

I want to see more of Elfman and Evergreen so badly. The tsundere and the big strong guy is so cute and the scenes in GMG were so cute.

alright fellow Fairy Tail fans, thinking of finally actually coming up with a name for the Chendy (Chelia X Wendy) child in my fic. Hoping you can help me pick one because I can't decide.

Some background info is he's 7, learning Sky Dragon Slayer Magic like Wendy, and very shy and sweet, if that helps.

(This really ain't that serious and I might not even pick any of them but thought would be fun and maybe help me out a bit. feel free to add tags/additions/whatever with your personal opinions)

Healing in Fairy Tail????

We've seen that Wendy, Sherria, Acnologia, and Porlyusica all have healing abilities but I wanted to know if the thing that allows them to heal is a correlation with sky magic.

Wendy is a sky dragon slayer, and can only heal others both in a physical and "mental" way such as boosting magic

Sherria the sky god slayer (rip) can do the same as Wendy but also for herself

Acnologia was a dragon doctor and was seen stopping the bleeding of an injury and... that's it

And lastly Porlyusica uses potions and those types of thing to heal but never directly using magic

So like, is healing tied with sky magic????

(Also I've read a headcanon of Sting being a healer too. light = healing. but then would that apply to like Jellal and Lucy who use light based magic from the stars and stuff like that or are we focusing on the white/holy aspect of his magic?)

I want a request about Tokito Twins with an Wendy Marvell crossover!

At first Yuichiro was suspicious of her, he was rough with reader, Muichiro wants to calm his older twin brother down, after Yuichiro said “get lost!!” To Wendy.

Wendy flinched upset almost starting to cry, she began to run away, Muichiro was disappointed to Yuichiro, he told him to apologize to Wendy. Yuichiro refused and told Muichiro to help him carrying the wood logs.

It’s getting hot at Night, Muichiro is going to drink water without realizing there was a demon standing there, Yuichiro runs towards Muichiro to protect him, the Demon was about to attack, suddenly out of nowhere an loud echo voice “sky dragon roar!!” A huge hurricane comes to the demon attacking him.

Yuichiro didn’t lose an arm 👍🏻

-Muichiro couldn’t help but glare at his brother after Wendy, a young girl, who was lost, unsure of where she was, after finding herself transported to this new world, ran off crying.

-She was so polite and nice, willing to help them after they allowed her to stay at their home, at least for a few days.

-Wendy had surprised them as she was way stronger than she looked, lifting large logs that they had been moving in preparation for the rising heat for summer.

-Muichiro loved having someone new to talk to and Yuichiro wasn’t going to admit it, but he enjoyed her company too, as she was the first girl they had ever spoken too.

-Wendy enjoyed these two younger boys, who were both very attractive, despite being opposites in personality, and she always had to fight off the thoughts that they were cute, trying to hide her flushed face.

-That’s why it hurt when Wendy offered to help more and Yuichiro shouted at her, “We don’t need someone like you!!” causing her to run off in tears

-Yuichiro felt the guilt in his chest, as well as the heat from Muichiro’s glare, he knew he messed up- he didn’t have to be so mean, and now as night was falling, Wendy had yet to return.

-Neither twin could sleep, it was too hot, both of them sweating, taking turns getting up to have some water to try and cool off.

-Both were worried about Wendy, especially with demons roaming around, but they didn’t want to leave their home, also afraid of what could be out there.

-Approaching footsteps made them both pause while Muichiro was getting a drink, both looking towards the door, hoping to see Wendy, but instead found a demon.

-They froze, unsure of what was going to happen and Yuichiro immediately charged, going to take the blow for his brother, to protect him, fear in both of their eyes.

-“Sky Dragon’s Roar!!” a pillar of spiraling wind hit the demon, blowing him through the house, destroying a portion of it. The twins turned, eyes wide, seeing, “Wendy!!”

-She smiled, seeing that they were okay, tears welling in her eyes as they scrambled out of the house, running towards her. Yuichiro surprised both of them by hugging her tightly, not saying anything, but she could tell that he was apologizing, making her and Muichiro smile softly.

-As the rubble shifted, Muichiro turned and was quick to grab Wendy’s hand, pulling her after him and Yuichiro was quick to catch up, the three running as fast as they could away from the demon.

-They heard the yell behind him and Yuichiro turned, seeing the demon had leapt high into the sky and was rushing towards them before they heard a voice, “Duck!!”

-The three youths hit the deck as Demon Slayers charged in, easily dealing with the demon.

-Wendy and Muichiro were both quickly crying, overwhelmed while Yuichiro was exasperated, trying to calm them both down, calling them both crybabies, but he was also relieved that they were safe.

-The three of them were taken in by the Demon Slayer Corps, the twins being trained as warriors, both naturals and becoming Hashira, while Wendy was a combat medic for the Butterfly Mansion, going out with the twins so they could get healed if they were to get hurt.

-The three of them were always together, and while they were too shy to admit it, the twins were both very soft on Wendy and cared deeply for her, but everyone could easily see it, except for Wendy who was just as shy with them.

-They were all too cute.

Chapter 265: The Flower Blooming Capital, Crocus

Natsu and Lucy are out on a date. Jk.

Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray, and Wendy are tasked to be the Fairy Tail's representative for this Grand Magic Games. The rules were discussed and as they reached the city, they decided to stroll around.

Look at these two holding hands!!! Kyaaaaa!

Lucy looks beautiful with all the flowers, happy too! Natsu looking at the two is so sweet.

Natsu has seen an ongoing fight and decided to check it out.

Of course with Lucy warning him but can't do anything since he already ran off.

They have met Sting and Rogue (The dragon slayers of Sabertooth) who berates Natsu for not being able to beat Acnologia (tsk!). Lucy defends him but the two didn't even bother.

It's hard to see these two being a d*ck lol seems new to me again. Going back to our NaLu moments, before I started this out I finished the Key of the Starry Sky arc (yey to me). In my own opinion, please do watch this there are many NaLu moments there and at the same time I can say that jumping from the x791 arc to the GMG arc would feel different. It's better to have some relaxing (not really) or character development arc in between. The gap between their current magic power to the people they've fought before (although they won) is crucial.

Natsu Harem: Fairy GET! 9/14

We're reaching the tail end of the pack~... Let's put in some hustle. (๑╹ω╹๑ )

The next spotlight goes to... Yes~... The other half of the Sky Maiden Sisters~... Wendy Marvell~! \(๑╹ω╹๑ )/

When did they meet?

This one is pretty standard... I don't have to mess around with it too much. Natsu met Wendy during the fateful mission to crush Oracion Seis. The guild that took care of her, Cait Shelter, regrettably had to pass on... They couldn't keep watching over her forever. But this left Wendy-chan open to join Fairy Tail... And they became her new family. Wendy-chan particularly drew close to Team Natsu because of their first meeting. (❋•‿•❋)

There isn't that much to elaborate on, as far as first meetings and whatnot go. Wendy saw that Fairy Tail was pretty powerful, if not prone to going overboard. A bit much for her mild-mannered self... But they proved dependable. They fought to protect Cait Shelter... And Natsu kept his promise~... (❋•‿•❋) It's little wonder she jumped at Erza's proposal to join Fairy Tail... Cait Shelter moving onto the afterlife made her sad, but Wendy resolved to carry on. And it's gratifying to find another Dragon Slayer in Natsu. (人◕ω◕)

When did they get closer?

Fairly obvious, but Wendy adapted to her new guild pretty quickly. Everyone adored her for being so cute, gentle, and kind. (人◕ω◕) Wendy wasn't much of a fighter herself, though. She knew some offensive-type spells, but she was mainly a healer and an enchantment wielder, which effectively relegated her to support type in battles.

... And she was pretty joined to Natsu at the hip. (人◕ω◕) I mean, why wouldn't she? They're both Dragon Slayers. Wind and Fire complement each other. Happy and Carla get along... sorta... *let's just sidestep Happy's repeated flirty attempts that Carla shot down~...* (人◕ω◕);;

Honestly? Wendy sees Natsu as a big brother figure. That defines the nature of their relationship for much of the time they're fighting Dark Guilds and kicking butt in the Grand Magic Games. She'll occasionally help alleviate his motion sickness, but repeated use of her Troia spell makes it less effective... And besides, eventually Wendy comes down with the same dumb illness. Wendy-chan really doesn't like transportation, just like Natsu-nii. (人◕ω◕)

When Fairy Tail disbanded after Tartaros, Wendy was left crestfallen, her home once more torn away from her... That brought her to Lamia Scale, to be with Chelia for a year... And then Natsu came back, even though she was pretty determined to stay with Chelia. (人◕ω◕) We know how that turned out, though~...

When did friendship turn to something more?

This is the million dollar question. (人◕ω◕);;; See, up through Alvarez... Wendy was focused on this idea of Natsu being her big brother. That's why she came to love and adore him so much. (人◕ω◕)

... But as time went on, Natsu became much more... popular. Cana-san. Kagura-san. Yukino-san. Natsu-nii even won over Juvia's heart...! And not to mention former enemies like Brandish-san, Sayla-san, and... others. *spoilers* (人◕ω◕) This doesn't even cover Lisanna, who's been close to Natsu for ages - same with Erza-nee and Mira-san... It was getting harder and harder to spend time with Natsu, and Wendy couldn't quite figure out why a part of her was frustrated and... furious.

And then one day, a while after the war with Alvarez, Chelia asks Natsu out. (人◕ω◕);;;;;;;; That was definitely the proverbial final nail in the coffin. Chelia's a few years younger than Natsu, who's about the same age as Erza. He's 20, Chelia's 16. ... Wendy is 13. Wendy should be older (even if that placed Natsu-nii even older, too), but because of Fairy Sphere shenanigans... Put simply, Wendy got shafted. Hard. (人◕ω◕);;; It's bad enough she has to be around big boobs so often... But for all these well-endowed women to be eating up all of Natsu-nii's time and affection...?

Wendy thought long and hard on it. While other girls gave their vetoes to Chelia's request for a date with Natsu-nii, and her beloved Natsu-nii agreed to go out with Chelia, Wendy stewed in her corner and mulled over why she was so miffed. It's not like she didn't want Natsu-nii to be happy. Or Chelia. (人◕ω◕);;; Wendy just... She was tired of getting sidelined by all these other women that weren't even Dragon Slayers!! ... Erza-nee is debatable given her mum, but really. Every single one of these "love interests" for niisan didn't have that pedigree that Wendy thought she had.

... Carla told her she was going a bit loopy from thinking too hard, but Wendy knew she wasn't crazy. Where was her Natsu-nii time?! It's not fair!!! (人◕ω◕);;;

So Wendy came to the conclusion that, at some point, she'd fallen for Natsu. ... And she had. She just didn't want to admit it because of the... age gap between them. Seven years apart was pushing it. But can you blame the poor girl? Natsu was her most important person, besides Erza-nee and Carla. And all these hussies... *cough* All these other women eating up Natsu's time and energy... (人◕ω◕);;;

But this is fine. Wendy is... fine. (人◕ω◕);;;;;;;;; While she doesn't have... much... of a problem with her petite size, the issue for Wendy-chan is closing that age gap juuust a little bit. (人◕ω◕);;;;;;; And since she specializes in Enchantments, Wendy researches long and hard... And finally invents a spell to age her up. ... But just aging up to Natsu-nii and Erza-nee's age feels like cheating. So Wendy does the "honorable" thing and makes herself on even footing with Chelia. That tramp... Er. Her bestest friend in the whole wide world. (人◕ω◕);;; Wendy ages herself up to somewhere between 16 and 17. Why? Because screw you, Wendy-chan deserves this after Fairy Sphere robbed her. That's her line, and she's sticking to it. (人◕ω◕);;;;;;;;;; Now, while she gets a little taller, she's still about Chelia's height. ... But regrettably not as well-endowed. Because of course her genes hate her. (人◕ω◕);; Her spell made her age naturally, so she had no say in how curvy she was.

Of course everyone noted what Wendy did to herself... And how she practically pounced on Natsu and showed the depths of her love for him with a passionate kiss.... (人◕ω◕);;; Wendy-chan would love to ask Natsu out, but for right now this is all the courage she possesses. She's not as brave or confident as Chelia. ... Or Erza. Or... (人◕ω◕) You get the idea. Wendy doesn't ask him out, but she stumbles over a very nervous confession to Natsu...

... Which Natsu rolls with. Wendy's pretty important to him, and she looks pretty cute regardless of age. But it's certainly less weird if she's as old as Chelia. (人◕ω◕) The other members of the harem are... leery of Wendy coming forward so boldly, but it's not like she had much choice. Not with territorial Sayla, bossy Brandish, clingy Juvia, determined Kagura... Wendy might have blindsided them all, but you better believe they won't lose to her. Natsu belongs to everyone~... (人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕) At least Chelia-chan is pretty accepting of Wendy's advances on Natsu. Their bond is still strong.

Although that bond of theirs does nudge other members of the harem to find tentative partners... Assuming they don't already have one. (人◕ω◕) Cuz with Wendy and Chelia teaming up to hog time with Natsu... Measures must be taken to ensure the scales stay even. ... Or else. (人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)

Ya know, maaaaybe I wouldn’t be against Wendy have the pacification origins on Grandine’s (and other Sky Dragon’s part if she wasn’t (not counting 100yrs) the ONLY FEMALE DRAGON SLAYER OF THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE!! A character having pacifist powers in general isn’t the issue, it’s having the girl character with powers like her male counterparts being used in a pacifist way. I know she was 12 at the start and got development, but the fact is that Mashima never bothered to make another after Wendy.

I mean, she does already have annoyingly pacifist origins in canon (which the ‘she was too young’ excuse makes no sense when compared to Sting and Rogue who never had the same problem), but I digress.

So honestly, canon aside, I hella agree. 

I wish Wendy was more feral and fun like Natsu and Gajeel. I feel Mashima was compelled to make her soft and cute and protectable, because she’s the first ‘little girl’ character we had, and honestly that’s okay. It’s a nice change to have a primarily support-type wizard, and her being a child was appropriate for that role, but it just sucks because it seems like only the girls of the story have this ‘I need to hold back, because girls and women are always kind and cute’ sort of narrative ever-present. It just... ugh, shounen anime of this era, you know? 

It’s kinda like Erza having to watch Natsu fight her ending arc battle with Jellal, even though Gray got to fight Lyon himself. Erza gets the role to be kind and wonderful and save the world after that, but she doesn’t get to go feral and lose her temper and destroy her opponent in a fit of anger, because she is meant to forgive him. Natsu was cool as hell, but Erza was given a random fight with Ikaruga instead of overcoming the core of her trauma like she so damn well deserved in TOH. Like, Gray got to defeat his personal arc opponent (Lyon) by himself, but Lucy and Erza doesn’t, because her role in their main arc is to be saved by Natsu to emphasize how much friendship and family matters to her. 

Was it a bad character arc, no, but why is it only the girls that get an arc like this one? The guys never get an important character arc where their role is to be saved. They always save themselves. 

So yeah, I wish Wendy was more feral too, but alas, Mashima’s set a precedent for the girls at the start. 

Mirajane’s important feral moment in Fantasia is important because she is meant to hold back and have mercy for Freed at the end of it. Elfman’s important feral moment in Phantom is important because he gets to go fucking batshit on Sol, beating him within an inch of death because he’s an ass and he wants to prove he can now protect Mira. I love both of those moments, but it is always the girls that get the ‘I need to be kind because I love my friends that I can rely on’ character arc, and the boys always get the ‘I need to be stronger to protect the ones I love’ arcs. I’m not saying the girls only get arcs like that, (Erza fights a lot of her future battles,) no, but only girls ever get arcs like that.

I wish Chelia was a bit more feral, honestly, I feel she could have fixed this problem because she’s a female God Slayer, that has always been the epitome of viciousness and brutality, in previous arcs. In her fight, she actually seemed like a battle junkie to me, which I found so fun as a character that could heal herself and keep fighting over and over. But after her fight, she was just the other ‘kind, sweet’, little girl that mirrored Wendy. Then around the time they became idols together, they were just the same person in a different font, in terms of personality. 

Like, I don’t expect Wendy to stop being a pacifist now, especially since Wendy’s gotten so much powerup and being a pacifist means a lot to her as a character (her character peaked at FACE for me), but I do wish Mashima allowed the girls to be more feral, violent, and crazy, without being a straight up villain. Seriously, all the girls that have the capacity to not be kind and pacifistic are portrayed as villainous, harmful lesbian stereotypes, psychopaths, or whatever. Flare, Minerva, Dimaria, Seilah, to name a few. And though Flare and Minerva get redeemed, guess what? They’re now meek and kind and gentle. 

Honestly I think Cana would have fit that role well, if only because of the Fairy Glitter scene in GMG. Millianna too, honestly. They’re both fun, mischievous characters that just have the capacity to go wild and ruthless if they want to, but they have the weakness of being not strong enough to do anything important, (Cana vs Freed in Fantasia just being a setup for Mirajane's berserk, and Millianna just being a hostage in Minerva vs Kagura vs Erza) and they’re constantly shoved aside for the more important characters to shine. 

It’s just. The girls always get shafted like this, you know? Wendy’s just plucked the bad straw by also being a child. It sucks sometimes :(

Wendy would bow politely to Ophelia before shifting to standing upright with a huge smile on her face. If the other teen didn't remember the small blue-haired girl now standing in front of her was another Dragon Slayer. The same as Natsu, Gajeel, and Erik. All three of which various members of the DBT knew. She'd been meaning to come by to offer aid before but she'd been busy.

"Oh! Water will be fine. I can't remember which of them told me you were working on something...but they thought my help might help expedite the results."

She'd wait to be invited closer to the other young woman before actually stepping forward. She wasn't as shy as she used to be and that was mostly thanks to her 'brothers' the other Dragon Slayers.

"I forgot to mention, I'm the Sky Dragon Slayer."
