Why I think Russell Adler is going to make a comeback in COD 2024

WARNING⚠️: Contains spoilers for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Disclaimer: This is all just speculation on my behalf of course. I've just tried piecing stuff together for fun because Russ is one of my fave BO characters even though he's a bitch but i need more Adler content stat. <33

Let's get into it peeps. HEAR ME OUT.

Buckle up. Gonna be one hell of a ride folks 🤪

We'll start off with some random/background info.

Russ was born on February 12th 1937 so that would make him 53/54 in the Gulf War era. This actually isn't that old because if you think about it, Woods was about to turn 51 in 1981 during the Cold War campaign. What's a few more years?

We last saw Adler in action post-campaign in Warzone 1.0 cinematics but we've been kept in the dark about Adler's whereabouts post-1984 (after being brainwashed and killing Stitch LOL).

This meanie in a beanie wasn't forgotten about, oh no. He appears in the new cinematic intros on startup for both MWII (2022) and MWIII (2023). See below:

I personally believe Adler was a great addition to the Black Ops roster and is essentially the new Black Ops 'cover boy' now. Would be such a shame and a missed opportunity not to include a character like him in the upcoming COD. One who is morally grey, does whatever he deems necessary to get the job done - a bit like Cpt. Price in MW. Got the COD fans riled up about him brainwashing and pulling the trigger on Bell too - he's already got the spotlight in both a good and bad way.

Now, let's explore my main reasoning as to why I think Mr Shades 2.0 is most likely coming back in late 2024...

From this, we know there will be a huge focus on the CIA and who's a CIA clandestine special officer? Mhm, you guessed it - Russell Adler.

Now, according to the events of BO2, it's evident which characters have the possibility of returning out of our original BO trio - Jason Hudson, Frank Woods and Alex Mason.

💫 Alex is presumed dead after Frank shot him so he's out the picture in '90/91 until 2025 when they canonically meet again.

🪵 Woods would be in his 60s during this time too so I'll let you decide whether that's too old for him to be in GW.

Edit: Woods got SPAS-12'd in the kneecaps on Dec 20th 1989 by Raul Menendez so uh...yeah

That brings me onto the rest of the safehouse crew. Since GW is a direct sequel to CW, it would make sense for some characters to carry over if possible:

We, as the player/Bell, get to choose whether Park or Lazar die (or both lovebirds) in 'End of the Line'. It's highly unlikely they'll return unless the devs make one decision canon maybe.

There could be a chance we see Sims again given his bond with Adler (Da Nang etc.), his age (late 40s in GW) and his status (alive).

That leaves the man himself, Russ. Everything from his age to the fact he's CIA and was the deuteragonist in COD 2020's campaign just makes sense for him to have at least a lil cameo or even a larger role, don't you think?

This post from Call of duty's official Instagram account kind of sealed the deal for me.

Oh lookie - they dropped syringe-lover's famous line in a zombies post. Why would COD just drop it so casually like that without a reason and years after CW came out? They could've said absolutely anything else but no, this was purposeful.

How he's only in one game is beyond me. Won't get a character like him ever again. Seems like a cliché war dude at first glance but dig a little deeper into the details of the CW campaign, peel back the layers and get into his psychology and WOWZERS.

Am I delusional? Most definitely.

But the possibility he might be returning...that little bit of hope is enough for me and i won't shut up about it.

A month into Will Graham’s sentence in the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane, Matthew noticed that the older man’s nightmares were gradually becoming worse. The sheets needed to be changed every morning as Will stood in the corner, shaking through his sweat-soaked shirt. He’d mumble an apology to Matthew, making brief eye contact before feeling the tense squeeze in his chest from the blatant admiration the young orderly had for him, and quickly looking away in embarrassment. Will’s empathy felt like a curse more and more each day. Matthew would smirk when Will looked away, knowing how obvious his flirtation was to the other man.

Although Will received treatment for the encephalitis before becoming an inmate under Dr. Chilton’s care, the following week Graham was sent with two orderlies and a guard to the Sinai Hospital to get a sedated MRI. Chilton was more worried about the potential lawsuit if he didn’t act swiftly than whatever was plaguing the former FBI profiler.

Matthew helped wrap a compliant Will in the straight jacket, and carefully put on his clear mask. He brushed his fingers through Will’s hair as he pulled the straps tighter eliciting a strange glance from his fellow orderly.

“Let’s load him up,” Joe shouted as he manhandled Will like a sack of potatoes. Matthew glared at his colleague but didn’t say anything instead he gave Will a knowing look and rolled his eyes. He was sure he saw Will give a thin smile in return.

The rest of the ride in the back of the van was spent in silence with all four men looking down awkwardly at their shoes. The guard, Nathan, would periodically check his wristwatch as if looking at it more frequently would make the time go by faster. Matthew observed Will from the corner of his eyes, he was clearly somewhere else. Probably gone fishing, Matthew chuckled to himself.

After their arrival at Sinai, Joe was sent to fill out the fifty pages of legal and medical paperwork in the lobby while Matthew was given the duty to watch over Will as he received the general anesthesia. “See you in a couple hours,” Nathan waved his hand at Matthew before turning around to grab a cigarette out from his back pocket. Matthew found himself alone with Will for the first time. The propofol was in full effect as Will lay in a dreamless sleep on the hospital bed next to him. The neurologist and the assisting nurse were busy prepping the MRI room, and Matthew was well aware of how long it would be until they got back.

Matthew inched closer to Will, sliding his finger over the cold, metal handcuffs that kept the older man trapped to the bed. He noticed the hospital gown was slipping off one shoulder, exposing Will’s neck. Brown’s heart rate quickened as planted a tender kiss on Will’s pulsating jugular. The hallway outside was desolate, and the silence encouraged him to keep moving up Will’s square jaw, rubbing his cheek against the sleeping man’s prickly stubble until their lips locked. For the first time in his life, Matthew understood what people meant when they spoke of butterflies in their stomach. The feeling was wonderful and dreadful all at once. Will’s lips were full and sweet under his own. Matthew moved one hand to Will’s curls, gently moving them out of that gorgeous face. He couldn’t help but think how beautiful Will looked when his face wasn’t full of worry and righteous anger.

“Shhh,” Matthew whispered in Will’s ear, “I’ll take care of you from now on.”

Matthew’s hand found Will’s flaccid cock. It was bigger than he expected, and that made his own erection stiffen. “I’ll take care of you in every way possible.” Matthew palmed at Will’s cock, feeling it harden in his hand. Joe was probably still working on the paperwork, and dealing with insurance issues. Matthew leaned his head back against the window, and went into his memory palace. Will was there, completely nude, waiting for him with a wanting look.

🌟🏍️ Welcome back to "Keeping Up with the Cullens," or as it’s currently known, "Keeping Up with Bella’s Adrenaline Addiction!" 😂 Today, we're diving into the wild and completely unhinged world of Bella Swan, who’s now figured out the secret recipe for her Edward hallucinations. Yep, it’s a three-ingredient combo: Adrenaline + Danger + Stupidity. And, folks, she’s whipping it up like Gordon Ramsay in a Hell’s Kitchen meltdown. 🍳🔥

So, where did we leave off? Oh, right—Bella, fresh off watching "Sam’s cult" (aka, the not-so-secret wolf squad) cliff diving like it’s no big deal, is now on her way to an abandoned road with Jake to ride motorcycles. Because why make good life choices when you can do the complete opposite? 🙄

Jake’s doing his best to be the responsible one, giving Bella clear instructions like, “Don’t let go of the clutch too fast,” “Keep your feet on the ground until you’re moving,” and the most important one: “Only use the brake on the handlebar, not the one by your feet!” 🚵‍♀️💨 But is Bella listening? Of course not! She’s too busy freaking out about falling to actually hear him. Instead, she’s driving like she’s in her old truck, which, let’s be honest, is about as graceful as a rhinoceros on roller skates. Watching her attempt to ride is like watching a train wreck in slow motion—you know it’s going to be bad, but you just can’t look away. 🛵😅

And let’s talk about her first day on the bike. Spoiler alert: it’s a disaster. She doesn’t just fall once—oh no, Bella goes for the full experience and wipes out twice, earning herself seven stitches! 💉😱 And because Bella’s got to keep up appearances, she heads home to change clothes before going to the hospital. Why? Because moss stains would be too much to explain to Charlie. Her genius cover story? She tripped over a hammer in Jake’s garage. Sure, Bella. Totally believable. 🙄 You might want to workshop that one next time.

But the real kicker? During her first attempt at riding, Bella cracks the code for those sweet, sweet Edward hallucinations. The moment she feels that adrenaline rush, Edward’s voice pops into her head like a ghostly DJ playing all her least favorite tracks. 🎧👻 Instead of thinking, “Maybe I should stop,” Bella’s like, “YES, this is exactly what I needed!” Because who wouldn’t want to hear their ex-boyfriend’s voice yelling at them to stop while they’re actively trying to ignore him? 🤷‍♀️

And what’s Edward saying? The usual: “Stop, don’t, you promised me,” “Bella, this is dangerous,” “You’re going to get yourself killed,” “Why are you doing this to yourself?” and the ever-classic, “You know this isn’t what I wanted for you.” It’s like having a disapproving parent in your head, except this parent sparkles and drinks animal blood. But does Bella listen? Absolutely not! She’s too busy getting her adrenaline fix to care. She’s actually *happy* she’s breaking her promise to Edward. That’s healthy, right? 🥴 This girl needs a therapist, not a motorcycle. 🛋️

After all the crashes, more stitches, and even more lies, Charlie’s starting to get suspicious again. And can you blame him? Bella suddenly taking up hiking is about as believable as a vampire enjoying a garlic bread buffet. 🧄😂 But of course, she can’t tell him about the motorcycles, so she’s sticking to her story. You’d think she’d come up with a better lie by now. I mean, really, Bella? Hiking? 🤦‍♀️ Even the ER staff is starting to look at her sideways after seeing her again in less than a week. If the real Edward knew what was going on, he’d probably have a heart attack—if vampires could have those. 😳🏥

And speaking of hiking, Bella and Jake decide to take a week off from riding motorcycles and instead take up hiking. The irony here is just *chef’s kiss*. Now, they’re out in the woods, trying to find this "beautiful meadow" Bella once saw—aka Edward’s meadow. 🌸🧠 Jake is so demented to find it, thinking it’s just a cool spot she wants to show him. Poor Jake, he’s all excited about a nice nature hike, thinking they’re just going to enjoy the great outdoors. Little does he know, Bella’s not after fresh air—she’s after ghost Edward. 🙄🌲

Jake is still being her emotional support wolf through all of this, bless his heart. 🐺💔 At least with the hiking, there’s less chance of Bella smashing into trees… for now. But if only Jake knew the real reason Bella’s so eager to find that meadow. Meanwhile, where’s Edward when Charlie and Jake could really use his help with Bella’s increasingly reckless behavior? Oh, that’s right—he’s off brooding somewhere, probably writing sad poetry in a dark corner. 📝🧛‍♂️

And there you have it—Bella Swan, queen of reckless behavior, is officially off the rails. The girl’s got a recipe for danger and she’s not afraid to use it. Now she’s roped Jake into her wild schemes, and honestly, I’m here for the drama. Stay tuned to see what other wild and questionable decisions Bella makes next! 🚀😅

Zoro, Law, and Kid X Y/N pov: meeting for the first time

Roronoa Zoro

🍻 It was just an incident that Zoro and y/n meet each other. The Straw Hat Pirates had just arrived at the island where Y/N lived.

Y/n POV:

🍻 After a long day you decided to go out for some booze. It was a quiet night all you could hear was people chatting and the waves. Until a lot of screams filled the air. "What could that be," you said, and without thinking you started to go to where the screams came from.

🍻 It seems to be outside of the bar, it was a rare sign to see on this island. It was one pirate against four? No maybe five other pirates?

🍻 You stood behind a wall, it was getting exciting. The Man with the green hair looked so familiar, but from where?

Zoro POV:

🍻 To his surprise he had seemed to find the way to a bar. And not only that, there were a lot of pirates who recognized him. It was just as Zoro wanted, a lot of booze and a good fight.

🍻 "Oi... You just gonna stand there" Zoro could sense another person, but it wasn't a pirate it was a young lady. Zoro got distracted when he saw her, what was this feeling?

🍻 "Watch out!" She yelled at Zoro, he turned around and started to do what he loves, to cut. It was over faster than he wanted it to be.

🍻 The young lady decided to come out of hiding and walked up to Zoro. "So what would you say to some booze?" When she smiled at him, the same feeling he felt when he first saw her came back.

🍻 "I wouldn't mind some Booze, I'm Zoro" he said and opened the door. "Nice to meet you, my name is Y/n" He followed her inside, and what a great night it was.

Trafalgar Law

Law POV:

💉The Heart Pirates were low on supplies and decided to stop by a little Island to get more. "Bepo, you come with me," the Captain said and started to walk towards the little town ahead.

💉 "I'm hungry Captain" Bepo started to whine. Law just looked at him and pointed to a store that both sold what he needed as a surgeon. It was a lot of medicine and seemed to even be some medicine he never had heard of.

💉 And to his surprise it was also a food store for healthy food. "How interesting" Law went inside the store, and Bepo went straight to where the food was. "Hello, and welcome. What would you like to eat?"

Y/N POV:

💉 "Hello, and welcome. What would you like to eat" My customer looked like a??? Polar Bear?? Or could it be a mink?

💀 The marine had captured you, or they thought so. It was your plan all along to get a free ride to the new world. You knew your bounty was high so why not use it.

💀 "What a beauty, too bad she's a pirate." You could hear the conversations going on around you. It wasn't long until you had entered the new world just a little bit further.

💀 A marine stood in front of you looking down at me. "Tell me, you always know what and where we are. How could you not know this time y/n?" This question was a trick, it had to be. I looked up and gave a little smile. "I was asleep"

💀 "We are getting shot at! Get ready!" The marine went to see what was going on, you decided it was time to get out and start looting.

💀 You were out of the handcuffs and snuck your way to the treasure room. "How easy" The Marines' attention was on the fight that just happened. You opened the door, "And just who is this?"

Kid POV:

💀 "Captain! The Marines'" Killer banged at the Captain's door, Kid came out with an evil smile. He laughed loudly "You know what do to guys!" And with that, the attack began.

💀 Kid watched as his crew jumped over to the Marinefleet, he came behind them starting to use his devil fruit power. The screams from the battle and the blood on the floor were a sight to behold.

💀 "What are you guys doing here," Kid said as he lifted the body of a marine. He refused to talk. "If you're not going to talk then I have to make you"

💀 It didn't take long for the marine to speak, "We are taking a Pirate to..." And with that, he goes all silent, we bleed out. "Oh well, I found out that they have treasures here" killer said and looked at the captain.

💀 When he got to the treasure room the door was slightly open, Kid opened up, and there was another pirate. She was taking it all in bags, "And just who is this?". She turned around and locked eyes with him, a little devil's smile came from both of them. " Captain Kid" "Y/N, a beauty in real life, come with us," Kid said and gave her a hand. All she did was take his hand and become the newest crew member.

About 50 meters from my house, there are donkeys during the summer. Back when my parents wouldn’t let me go horse riding yet, I figured I had to take the best I could get. At least I didn’t get the idea to try and ride them, but I did steal some shoebrushes (they looked a bit like the brushes used for horses) and went to brush the donkeys.
