Jegulus and Drarry thoughts:

James jumping into the water to save Regulus from drowing. Whether he did it on purpose or someone pushed or cursed him. Just James saving Regulus from drowning. Like we need that in more Jegulus fics. We need that trope. Cause I'm a sucker for angst but only if there's a happy ending after all the pain. Also just jegulus being represented with water and water themes. Them being doomed because of water if their not careful. James having nightmares of seeing Regulus drown in water, even before he knew him or started hogwarts. While Regulus has nightmares of drowing.

In contrast with Drarry and how Harry saves Draco from dying in fire.

And their relationship being represented by fire. Draco having nightmares of fire ever since he was little. Harry having nightmares of seeing a person he's never met die in fire. Their relationship being doomed to repeat if they not careful. Just all the fire themes for them. Especially considering Dracos name mean Dragon(ironic a Dragon needing to be saved from fire by the boy who lived). Also post war fics of Draco having a fear of fire, and only feeling safe if Harry's around.
