I truly love this movie, it's one of my comfort movies now and I can't wait for the soundtrack to come out. Joe Keery really shined here and his range is incredible; I can't help but love every character he's played. I adore his acting and seeing him flourish in these indie type films, it feels he has much more freedom and input. ☺️✍🏽

Just, he really looks happy and I'm happy because of it; not only that - but I get to draw more of his characters.🥰🪻

God, his cardio used to be so much better than this, and granted it’s not awful, but he’s been so set on trying to beat his bench press PR (which he did, thank you), that in all honest, his cardio has been kind of lacking as of late. Which shows.

Buck just wished it wasn’t shown so fucking obviously with the sweat dripping fown his back. He really does need to go back into running. Just probably not with Maddie cause he’d appreciate having some of the little dignity he has to stay intact.

He looks over with the intent of asking about grabbing lunch after this cause Buck very much needs a distraction from all of this before the expression across her faces kills off question resting on his tongue. It’s one he recognizes immediately. The furrowed brows, the very focused expression that tell him her thoughts are miles away thinking of something else. He wishes he could say it’s one foreign to Maddie, but Buck isn’t naive. He’s not blind either.

“What’s up?” he asks.

Maddie glances over, the shocked look in her eyes confirming whatever sneaking suspicion he had before. She’s definitely thinking about something. But whatever it is, it’s clear she doesn’t really want to talk about it. “What do you mean?” she mutters. 

“Something’s clearly on your mind. Figured you might wanna talk about it,” Buck says between breaths. He can’t force his sister to share about her feelings, but offering never hurt anyone, especially cause he can’t really gauge how serious this is either.

Maddie sighs, the wheels in her head clearly turning in decision as if debating weather to brush it off or talk about it. “So, umm…” her hands drifting down to her sleeves fiddling with them for a second before tugging them up. “Dad called.”

Buck feels his stomach drop, and this time very much not due to the self-inflicted abuse on the treadmill.

“But genuinely, tell me you have something, so I’m not going in super blind here,” Buck all but pleads. It’s his first time going through a partner's heat; sue him, he’s a little anxious.

Eddie’s gaze flickers over to him. Buck immediately catches the bare hints of mirrored nervousness in his eyes too. For a second, there’s that little mutual understanding there, that reminder that this is Eddie’s first heat in four years too. Except this time, he’s not alone.

He watches Eddie take a solid, steady breath.

“I can get really-” he stops himself, jaw snapping shut. Buck can see the way his throat bobs, swallowing as he thinks of what to say next. After a moment, he turns, looking not directly at Buck but towards him. “I like touch. A lot. That’ll help,” he explains.

Buck hastily files that away in his mind.
