#like. it's fucking not.#this season started out okay and then became an absolute snooze fest so fast.#ortiz? nah she's dealt with and it takes less than 1 episode.#gerrard? more a grumpy grandpa than an actual threat and also dealt with by episode 4.#the kim drama fallout? barely mentioned. eddie dances in his underwear in that one scene though.#buck building a relationship? false they break-up over liking each other too much(?) and tommy is not coming back apparently.#bobby and athena dealing with the season 7 aftermath? not really bobby is fine athena is fine everything is peachy.#even the opening disaster lost a lot of it's impact by being dragged out over 3 episodes instead of being it a 2 parter.#i mean brad was intense i guess - intensely annoying #is the abduction supposed to be the intense part? because i'm bored already. this is the second time maddie is being kidnapped like this.#they really need to find a character trait for maddie that isn't “traumatised victim”#sorry i'm just so annoyed with this show recently and i don't think 8b will be better than 8a #911 abc #911 spoilers #911 critical #911 discourse

When Christian pitched that Vi hits Powder at the end of Episode 3, that made me deeply uncomfortable. I thought, “How are we going to save her from this mistake?”

#im reading interviews to try and get a sense of where the writers intention and my perception divert #and this like jumped out at me #i say this a lot but while i think season 1 act 1 is the best like. grouping of eps in the whole show #the actual catalyst to get them to be apart all that time and their emotions about is as adults feels very dissonant #its treated like 'violet got angry and left'#and not 'within seconds she regretted lashing out and then was cruelly locked up in adult jail for nearly a decade'#i get jinx misunderstanding and even vioelt unfairly blaming herself but the SHOW acts like this. its so odd #oh god how can she ever come back from. hitting her sister once on the worst day of her life when shes a teenage orphan #NOW im done just gonna. block reblogs. containment chamber #id make a priv blog for my thoughts but saying all this publically forces me to think about what im saying in detail

#rambles #if a character has mother issues im automatically more inclined to be sympathetic to them. it’s like a character creation buff.#ei is my second least favorite archon (first is tsaritsa for obvious reasons) because I felt like the severity of the damage she did to #inazuma and the way she handled/was shown to feel about it was. egh.#but also because of her motherhood crimes #before people come at me for venti being negligent or zhongli faking his death and causing civil unrest in liyue #1) venti isn’t his nation’s ruler. he’s more like a patron and has made it clear from the outset that he doesn’t wish to meddle in his #people’s governance. ei meanwhile IS her people’s leader even if she left a proxy and she didn’t consider the will of the people until war #progressed all the way to literally her doorstep. and she’s a complex character! she’s bogged down by all the loss she’s faced and it #influenced how she handled everything for five hundred years! there are reasons for the things she does and she is as tragic as all the #other archons! but also her competition is venti (fave) zhongli (I like him more) nahida (fave) furina (counts. fave.) and mavuika (cool)#that and for a while I really didn’t ljke her.#back on track 2) yeah I can’t defend zhongli but all that only happened over the course of a few days and not years #and he was planning to step in if necessary.
