Dancing On My Own (Tiesto Remix)- pt 2
After some pushback from the first, I knew I had to write a second part, and quick. this should placate most of you.
Summary: the aftermath.
Part 1.
WC: 2.25k

Tumblr media
You somehow make it home unscathed- you could barely see as you drove through your tears, your breakup playlist on full blast. You guess you’re officially done. With Melissa already having a new woman, you wonder just how much you ever even meant to her.
As soon as you’re pulling into your spot, the waterworks hit in full- as if they weren’t already. You rip off the jersey and hat that you wore out, not caring where they land as you throw them into your front room. You had bought a bottle of wine to share with the redhead that you fell madly in love with to celebrate getting back together, and hopefully a big win, but now that seems wrong to drink on your own. You reach for the vodka instead.
You don’t show to school the next day, calling out claiming that you’re sick. And you are. Your heart hurts more than you ever thought possible, and your hangover is killer. You spend the morning laying in bed, eyes rimmed red. The redness won’t be going away any time soon.
Melissa saunters into the school, happy that she hasn’t seen your car in the parking lot, and doing a little dance because her team won. She’s also quite happy that she was able to rebound with last night- even if she didn’t particularly enjoy the woman that she spent her time with. She much rather would’ve spent time with you, but… you were… are a Cowboys fan.
“Someone’s happy,” Barbara chuckles. She thinks she knows why. “Did you have a good night at the game?”
“I did!” Melissa grins. “I took this girl I met at the bar, and-”
The kindergarten teacher’s face drops. “What?”
“I wasn’t going to let the ticket I had for Y/N go to waste,” the redhead shrugs. “So I asked Lena if she wanted to go with me to heckle the Cowgirls fans.”
“Oh no,” Barbara whispers. “Oh, no. no. no.”
“What? I figured after Y/N and I, I should get myself back out there.”
“No,” Barbara states again with fire. “Oh good god.”
“What?! What, Barb?”
“I- I have to go make a call,” the kindergarten teacher grabs her coffee mug and heads out quickly. She closes her classroom door as she dials your number.
Your phone starts ringing far too loudly, and you groan. You glance at it and see Barbara’s contact picture light up.
“Hello?” you groan into the phone, just barely sitting up. Your voice is rough, both from the tears and the fact that you haven’t spoken since last night.
“Sweetheart,” your coworker whispers to you. “Where are you? Are you okay?”
“Home,” you grumble. “Sick.”
The kindergarten teacher frowns. “Sick? Lovesick?”
“Heartbroken,” you whisper, voice cracking slightly. “She was there with someone else. You knew, didn’t you?”
“Y/N, dear,” Barb sighs quietly. “If I had known that she was talking to someone else, I never would’ve told you to go for it. In fact, when she came in dancing today I thought it was because the two of you got back together.”
“Nope,” you pop the ‘p’. “She had her tongue down someone else’s throat.”
“Honey, I am so sorry,” the woman tells you softly.
“I’m not mad at you,” you tell her genuinely. “You didn’t do anything wrong but try to help me.”
“Can I do anything else for you?” Barbara asks.
You sigh. “Just… when I come back to work tomorrow, pretend I was sick? I don’t feel like having Janine jump down my throat.”
“I can do that,” the kindergarten teacher says softly. “And please know that even though the two of you aren’t involved anymore, we are all still on your side. You’re still a part of our-”
“It’s okay,” you sigh sadly. “I know that you’re all Melissa’s friends, and I don’t want to put any of you in an awkward position having to pick sides. She’s been here longer; it’s all hers.”
“Sweetheart,” Barbara breathes.
“It’s okay. I’ll be okay, Barb. Thank you for trying to help me,” you mumble before hanging up.
By the time you hang up with her, the students will begin trickling in, so Barbara doesn’t have time to go speak with Melissa about the situation at hand.
But at lunch, Barbara simply grabs her lunch and picks up the redhead’s that is already out on the table.
“Barb,” Melissa gasps.
“My room. Now,” is all the kindergarten teacher has to say to get her friend to follow her out of the staff room and down the hall, head hung like a child being escorted to the principal’s office.
When they get there, Barbara sets down their lunches at her desk and pulls a chair up for Melissa.
“Barb, c’mon,” your… ex-girlfriend groans. “What gives?”
“What the hell were you doing out with another woman?”
The second grade teacher immediately gets defensive. “Y/N and I-”
“Y/N went to the game last night… dressed in Eagles gear and ready to cheer for your team because she loves you,” the older teacher says sternly. “And you threw it in her face that you were done with her and already moved on.”
“She- what?”
“She spent close to a thousand dollars on sports gear last week to try to win you back. She wore Phillies gear, she wore Flyers apparel, she wore a Sixers sweatshirt, she even wore a jersey from the Union, and on Friday, she wore Kelly green to show you that she’s in Philly now.”
“Didn’t show up in a Hurts or Kelce jersey though,” Melissa rolls her eyes.
“Because she was saving that for last night when she was going to win you back with the ticket that she managed to get next to you!”
Melissa’s face drops. “She- fuck.”
“She’s not sick. She’s heartbroken right now.”
The redhead bites her lip. “I fucked up takin’ Lena, didn’t I?”
Barbara nods. “She was crying when I called, and she told me she was heartbroken to see you with some other girl’s tongue down your throat.”
“Fuck.”
“Yeah,” the kindergarten teacher nods. “That word.”
Melissa breathes out heavily. “Do you…” she shakes her head. “She’s still a Cowboys fan.”
“Melissa Ann, you love her. She loves you. She’s perfect aside from that one fact, and when she tried explaining herself to you at school, you wouldn’t let her get a word out. Hear her out, and even then… if she does love the Cowboys, are you really going to let something as trivial as a sports team rivalry come between you and the one person that you love?”
“I…” the redhead bites her lip. “Do you think I have a chance at winning her back?”
At that, the kindergarten teacher shrugs. “You’ll never know if you don’t try… although, I would end things with this new woman you were making out with last night.”
The end of the day could not come sooner for the second grade teacher. She’s debated texting you or calling you, but she feels this is something that she has to do in person.
So as soon as she’s finished for the day, she runs out. She leaves her lunch bag in the staff room, doesn’t wait for her work wife; she just books it. She’s tearing out of the school parking lot in the direction of your apartment complex.
The entire drive over, she’s preparing what she’s going to say to you, but once she’s standing on the door mat that you have sitting outside your front door, it all leaves her brain. She knocks a few times before stepping back.
Who the hell is at your door? Could it be Barbara checking on you? Or maybe she said something to Janine or Jacob, and they’re here to make sure that you’re okay? With a groan, you sit up and stand from the couch. You’ve been sitting there for so long wallowing in your self pity that you leave an indent in the cushions. You check the peephole, and… why is Melissa standing at your door?
You open the door, not caring how you look right now.
The sight of you hurts her heart. Your hair is messily tied up, you haven’t changed out of your pajamas, your eyes are still rimmed red… you just look so heartbroken right now.
“What? Come to yell at me some more?” you try sound angry, but it just comes out pathetic.
“No,” she says softly. “Hun, I’m-”
“Here to break up with me?” you sigh. “You made it pretty clear we were done.”
“Can I come in?” she asks quietly. The woman sounds so unlike herself.
You shrug and leave the door open as you walk away. She follows you in. “I’m here to say I’m sorry.”
“It’s whatever,” you sigh as you curl back into your mountain of blankets. “I’ll be fine. I’ll be civil the rest of the school year, I’ll leave you and your friends alone, and then I’ll find another school in the area to work at.”
“You don’t have to do that.”
“Well, it’s a little hard to work with your ex-girlfriend,” you sigh. “Now, if you wouldn’t mind seeing yourself out.”
“Y/N,” Melissa says so softly, and she has her eyes trained on you. They’re filled with sadness. “I don’t want to break up.”
“I thought we already did,” you spit out. “And if we didn’t, I know you had your tongue down another woman’s throat last night anyway, so if you don’t break up with me, I’ll do it for you. Then you can make me the bad guy when you-”
“Barb told me what you were trying to do,” the redhead admits softly.
“If you would’ve just listened to me, you would know that I didn’t necessarily have a choice in who I rooted for when it came to football. My father, who is my idol and best friend so don’t you dare say a single bad thing about him, loves the Cowboys. He insisted on buying me the Prescott jersey despite the fact that I didn’t want him spending that money on me to begin with.”
“I should’ve known with you growing up near Dallas,” she sighs.
“But I’m here now,” you continue. “And once I talked to him and he told me that if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. So I did. I bought all of this Philly stuff, bought a ticket to the game and showed up in a hat and Hurts jersey, only to see you with someone else. So… it’ doesn’t matter.”
“Hun, I never wanted her.”
“Well, you got her.”
“The whole time, I was wishing it was you.”
You rub your temples.
“Barb told me she helped you,” the second grade teacher admits. “If I had known… I would’ve been-”
“Any time they brought me up, you shut them down,” you fire out. “You wouldn’t let me speak to you at all.”
“You avoided me too!”
“I was trying to give you space, and when I did try to talk to you, you shut me down and told me you weren’t going to date a Cowgirl.”
“How can I fix this?” Melissa asks as she comes to sit down next to you. “I’ll do- I’ll do anything.”
“I thought you weren’t going to date a Cowgirl,” you taunt her. “And you have your new girl now.”
“She isn’t my girl,” the redhead tells you sternly. “You’re my girl. She’s some random girl I picked up at a bar while I was trying to distract myself from missing you. The whole time I was with her, I wished it was you- I didn’t even sleep with her. She was throwing herself at me, but I couldn’t.”
“So what are you saying?”
“And then today when you didn’t show up to school, Barbara told me what you did and how she helped you… she talked some sense into me; asked me if I was really going to let a stupid sports rivalry get in the way of loving the one person I truly adore. The answer is no. I was… an idiot. An absolute idiot.”
“Yeah,” you snort. “You were.”
“So… I’m here, begging you to take me back. Please, Y/N,” Melissa tears up. “Please. Please don’t walk away.”
“Melissa, you hurt me more than you know,” you whisper.
“And I will spend the rest of my days making it up to you,” she promises you. “Please.”
You take a deep breath for huffing it out. Secretly, you were hoping she would come back to you. And the opportunity is right here in front of you. “It’s… it’s going to take a bit for me to fully forgive you.”
“And I understand that entirely. I was a real jackass. I’ll make it up to you however I can.” She pulls you into her arms and kisses your temple gently. “However I can.”
That ‘however’ is by having her take you to another Eagles game- with the entire Abbott crew. You wear your Hurts jersey, hanging off of her the entire night, and you cheer for your new team.
The other ‘however’ is by getting her to take you to a Phillies RedOctober game at Lincoln Financial field. When they play their celebratory song after clinching a spot in the World Series as NLC champions, you know that you’re no longer dancing on your own (tiesto remix). You have Melissa by your side.

I keep thinking about the idea of Kelly and Lena becoming besties after season six. And well Kelly, being the good friend she is, and also a mental health professional, keeps trying to convince Lena to go see a therapist and sort through all the trauma she has been through. And even though Kara, Lena’s other best friend (and possibly girlfriend at this point?) finally agreed to start seeing someone for her own issues, Lena still refuses. Perhaps because she is still too stubborn to accept the help, or because she is scared of unearthing all her demons, possibly both. So Kelly decides to change tactics and go for a more covert approach. After years of treating patients much more difficult than Lena, Kelly has a repertoire of tricks up her sleeve for convincing people to open up to her, and by subtly working some of those methods into normal everyday conversations, she’s slowly able to get Lena to start sharing herself more openly with Kelly. It’s not like that much really changes about their relationship, just now some of their discussions go a bit deeper, and little by little Lena and Kelly start to work through some of her baggage without her even fully realizing it.
This goes on for quite a while, until one day Lena puts the pieces together and realizes that Kelly has essentially been secretly psycho-analyzing her all this time (Lena is a genius after all, she was bound to figure it out eventually). When she confronts her about it, Kelly can’t help but cringe internally and braces herself for the worst. Riddled with guilt, and putting on the most apologetic face she can muster, she tells Lena how incredibly sorry she is, and tries to explain herself. But when Kelly asks her if she is upset with her, she gets an answer she doesn’t expect.
Lena crosses her arms and purses her lips, tilting her head to the side, a contemplative look on her face. For once Kelly can’t read her best friend’s expression, and she can feel her own anxiety growing as the seconds tick by. But when Lena finally speaks, there is no anger in her voice.
“I think - no, I know - that the old Lena, the person I was when we first met - she’d probably be furious at you. Maybe even friendship ending furious. I’m sure you remember what happened with Kara and I.”
Kelly doesn’t say anything, simply nods an acknowledgment, and waits for Lena to continue.
“But the Lena I am now? I’ve grown a lot in the last few years… and I don’t think I can find it in me to truly be upset with you. Maybe a little sad that you felt it was a necessary measure. But not mad - because I know you did what you did out of a place of love, not because you were trying to deceive or manipulate me. Because you’re one of my best friends and I believe you when you say you only want what’s best for me. Even when I refused to admit I needed any help, you know me well enough to know better.” She pauses, glancing down at the ground briefly before looking back up at Kelly, a small smile starting to pull at the edges of her mouth. “And you really did help me, you know? Honestly, this is the lightest and happiest I’ve felt in years.”
Kelly can tell Lena is telling the truth when she says it, because she can see it so clearly in the way Lena’s small grin breaks into a face splitting smile, one Kelly knows is genuine because of the way it’s a little crooked and because of how it crinkles Lena’s eyes at the corners. She feels her shoulders relax and she releases the breath she didn’t realize she was holding. Then Lena is wrapping her up in a tight embrace, and it’s a little longer than usual, and Lena squeezes a little harder than usual, as if to say “thank you for being there for me.”
“That said…” Lena pulls back from the hug and breathes out an exaggerated sigh as she makes a show of crossing her arms and rolling her eyes like a petulant teenager, even as she fights to keep the smirk off her face. “That said, I think it’s about time I face my fears head on and schedule an appointment with a therapist, you know, one who is not my BFF.”
Kelly can’t help but smile widely at that, feeling nothing but warmth and affection for her dear friend. “Took you long enough, you stubborn old mule,” she teases, pulling Lena into another hug.
“Excuse you!” Lena swats at Kelly’s arm in mock indignation. “Stubborn yes, but I am neither old nor a mule! You take that back Kelly Olsen-Danvers!”
“Fine, fine, just ridiculously stubborn then,” Kelly replies through her laughter. “But I hope you know, just because you start going to actual therapy, that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop trying to keep poking holes in all those walls of yours.”
Lena considers her with a soft look in her eyes and a soft smile to match. “Yeah, I know. I don’t think I’d want it any other way.”

top 5 supergirl episodes?
full disclosure i haven't seen the entirety of supergirl (ive literally only seen like 7 eps & its all season 1) so this list will probably change over time (bc im starting to painstakingly watch the show - imagine slowburn but watching a series) however ive watched like a ridiculous amount of supercorp edits so im going to base my choices on the parts where supercorp exist ha!
5. Season 1 - Red Faced
Tumblr media
this would probably be the only none supercorp related yet still somehow my personal fave for a few reasons. i love this scene in particular bc it shows that cat grant cares for kara and what cat says here is very relatable. no matter how harsh cat can be at times, cat was a girl's girl here. she gave an advice which was helpful to both supergirl and kara. she had every right to rip kara viciously apart but instead she took a completely different route. i like the line she says here.
"You really need to figure out what's really bothering you." "You really need to find that anger behind the anger. And you really need to figure out what's really making you mad."
i think this was also the ep where kara acknowledged where some of the anger was coming from. even with zero dialogue and with mel's incredible acting skills she was able to convey so much emotions during that scene where she releases all her anger towards the red tornato. From losing her parents, losing her planet —her home, for losing everything and maybe even angry with her parents for the choices they made for her. it was such an incredible and very emotional scene.
im putting the rest in read more bc of how unnecessarily long this post has become
4. Season 2 - "The Adventures of Supergirl"
Tumblr media
this should be easy. this was the first time kara met lena and changed the trajectory of every queer person watching this show and lena first delivered the first of many many questionably fruity (gay) lines fjlkajdla
"You couldn't have fooled me."
Tumblr media
also bc of this scene thank you very much
3. Season 2 - "Luthors"
Tumblr media
if there is one particular scene that convinced me to even give supergirl the time of day its obvs this one and lena "suspiciously straight" luthor delivered one of the most iconic lines on television in my opinion and now forever engraved in my mind. let's not forget lcorp CEO lena luthor took the time of day to fill catco employee kara danver's office with flowers like it's a regular tuesday but oh well
"now you'll have someone to stand up for you. always" "supergirl might have saved me but kara danvers, you are my hero."
screaming, crying, throwing up
2. Season 2 - "Exodus"
Tumblr media
tada! i mean, look at it! how heroic! i also find it funny how grateful and confused lena was that kara danvers was having coffee with supergirl late at night but still
Season 2 - Ace Reporter
so this isnt at all groundbreaking bc honestly, 5 isn't enough and anything that has supercorp will be my favorite even though again i havent seen the rest of supergirl yet but we're ignoring canon so we're ignoring that fact too. i think this was the ep where kara was comforting lean about jack's death. i personally have a love and hate relationship towards this scene for many reasons but im a sucker for supercorp and there was a clip where kara hesitated and looked like she was about to plant a kiss on lena's head but then hugged her instead and i think its beautiful and im a sucker for kara leaning in towards lena
Tumblr media
BONUS:
im too lazy to figure out where these clips are from which episode but this. i love every scene and its more like these below are my reasons for watching supergirl and has nothing to do with being my top 5 bwahaha
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh did i mention i also happen to have a weird obsession with superrojas i will not rest until i reach the ep where andrea rojas exist

Supercorp - Rehashing the Fallout once more
Today's menu: Kara Danvers' Double-Standards.
I am rewatching Supergirl, and it occurred to me why I am with Lena on the "you lied to me" point. (Not the brain-wash the planet or taking a year to get over herself and realize her own - horrible - mistakes parts, though.) Not because of the lie itself or its content, but its context with Kara's very own history!
Let's take a walk...
In the pilot Kara gets mad at Alex for her having kept her double-life as a DEO agent secret from her.
Tumblr media
Kara is utterly disappointed and distraught at the secrets her parents kept from her (Medusa, Myriad), some of which affected her directly (Krypton's impending destruction).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kara finds out that James is Guardian before he told her and she was pretty upset, explains it's because they are humans throwing themselves into danger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When J'onn explains to Kara how bonded Martians share their minds, Kara expresses how she thinks the “no secrets, no lies” sounds “beautiful”.
Kara ends their relationship with Mon-El over him lying about his true identity (and him being the Prince of a cruel society), ignoring him when he said he tried several times to tell her. When Mon-El let himself into Kara's apartment to apologize, he BEGS for forgiveness
Tumblr media
but Kara says she deserved better than being lied to… Yes, she secretly forgave him at this point but still breaks up with him (Rhea told her to do so) and cries over it.
Tumblr media
Music Meister teaches Kara (and Barry): “Love is about letting yourself be saved, it's not just about saving other people.”
Tumblr media
Trust.
Lillian tells Kara, she doesn't need to spill SG's identity, because when Lena FINDS OUT, it'll be so much worse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(And Lillian was SO on point!)
When Kara and Clark spar and have a heart-to-heart, Kara wonders if she can have it all, Clark assures her about the most important people make keeping the secret worth it and how letting (only) those important people in IS enough. Later, asked the same questions, Cat tells Kara that women have the guts to be vulnerable, lists her accomplishments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kara does not take Lena possessing some of Lex's Kryptonite nor the whole Sam/Reign-secret kept from her well. Gets even angrier when Lena creates her own Kryptonite (in her quest to fight/cure Reign …and cancer and other human ailments).
Tumblr media
Or Mon-El hesitating to tell and keeping from Kara about his time-travelling, marriage and his actual mission…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That is up until mid-s03 and not even counting the many times how the show also taught us through Alex', J'onns and Lena's lenses that lying and pretending to be someone one is not to those important/close to oneself, is harmful to their (romantic and platonic) relationships and themselves.
Do I need to go on?
Tumblr media
...Kara is clearly fully aware at that point that secrets (even her own) do not bode well in any type of relationships she would like to have and keep.
And, yes, I am fully aware of the "point of no return" argument, in all its validity, that at some point the lies had stacked up so much, that the hurt was inevitable, the fear of rejection more and more founded, of Kara wanting to be "just Kara" with Lena… Every season, every in-show year that passed and Kara kept her secret(s), it became impossibly harder to come clean. But, re-watching the show, it just seems so… irresponsible? And the more often Kara makes a point herself being lied to is a bad thing, even …hypocritical.
I am not saying any of the people who lied to or kept things from Kara were in the right or wrong - a totally different discussion that would require individual assessment. But, Kara, making the same point over and over again? Several times about the very topic of hidden/fake identities and double-lives… But then proceeding to keep her proclaimed best friend in the dark about herself, still?
Yeah, that bugs me. A lot.
IMO, after the whole Mon-El returned thing Kara would or should have had an epiphany about telling Lena the truth about herself… but then Reign beat her into a coma and all kinds of hell broke loose.
Tumblr media
But… Yeah. Not even for Supercorp reasons. But internal logic.
From a story-writing perspective; you have your (main) character face a (similar but slightly different) situation a couple times before they learn their lesson. You plant the seeds (in this case: identity reveal) and then have it play out, based on what the character had learned(!) this far. And you have them deal with the worst-case-scenario backlash, if you need any for drama's sake, but it should make some level of sense… Instead they had Kara learn nothing, had her lie to Lena for another two years, and turned Lena into a spiraling madwoman. And Kara… well, now in Mon-El's shoes, could not quite understand how Lena (in Kara's former shoes, but with much more tainted personal experiences) was deeply, intimately hurt, devastated, and struggling.
Kara saw this coming - but tbh, when Lillian spoke so (unintentionally) truthful, Kara should have focused on the implied "if someone ELSE but you tells her", and when talking to Kal, realized that he didn't keep his secret FROM his most important people (Lois, James…) to protect them. Taken Cat's advice to have the guts to be vulnerable to reap Lena's long-term trust instead of settling for "for now this works, right?".
Not to mention that the whole show over and over stressed, that Kara could "have it all" without revealing herself to the world (the 100th episode even making a point that telling the world WILL put her loved ones at risk) or deciding on one half of herself, but then the show ended, and… yeah… I guess, some sort of witness protection for everyone?
Tumblr media
No more casual strolls for "just Kara" through the park…
Tumblr media
I adore the show, but… continuity?
It's just a bit painful to re-watch the show and watch Kara fault and shame others over and over again, only to go ahead and do the thing herself... Aware, yet oblivious. And NOBODY calls her out on it. (The one time Alex asked her and Kara was all like "I had to take the dog to the vet" is too little too late.)
Tumblr media
Thankfully the fandom is so amazingly creative <3

Hi I was wondering if you could do the sicktember 24. “Did you just sneeze?” - Yelena x Sick Reader.
Little Kitten
Tumblr media
〖Summary: Yelena teases you for the way you sneeze.〗
〖Word Count: 550〗
〖Pairing: Yelena x Sick Reader〗
〖Notes: I would greatly appreciate if everyone is nice about this one, I will admit that Yelena is not my best character and I'm working to get better at her characterization.〗
〖Translation: котенок = kitten (according to google translate; I don't speak Russian, I'm sorry if it's wrong)〗
☾Masterlists☽
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
“Did you just…sneeze?” Yelena asked, incredulous at the small kittenish sound you had just made. You pouted at her and grabbed a tissue that you used to paw at your nose. Her face split into a grin as she watched your movements, noting that even those were strangely catlike.
“Lena,” You whined, sniffing in a rather pathetic way. “Le’me alone, I don’ feel good.” A permanent pout had settled on your lips since this mind-numbing cold had started and you felt rather pitiful.
To her credit, Yelena had been doing a surprisingly good job at taking care of you. She wouldn’t win any awards for being the most nurturing person, but she made sure you ate, drank water, took your meds, and supplied you with more tissues than you’d ever need. She even cuddled with you when you asked, though the act was performed with a lot of grumbling about germs.
You didn’t blame her, this was a monster of a cold that had you laid up in bed for three days already, days that felt like weeks. It had hit you hard and fast, one night you were fine and the next morning you were an absolute mess.
Your head ached. Every part of you ached, your nose was stuffy, and you had a low-grade fever that was just enough to make your bones hurt. You’d developed a cough the day before that was clinging to your chest, making it feel heavy. Concerns of bronchitis had floated across your mind for a moment, but you didn’t feel well enough to care.
If it was bronchitis Yelena was making sure you were doing what you needed to combat it and you were pretty sure she wouldn’t let you die. Not like that anyway, that would be rude of her.
“Fine, but that was cute. Do you need anything?” she asked, still chuckling. The little smile on her face would have been sweet if it hadn’t come at your expense. You glared at her and crossed your arms over your chest, huffing your frustration. Not only were you plain old tired, but you were tired of being sick.
“No.” You muttered, staring with dead eyes at the TV. You weren’t sure what was playing but the bright light was annoying you. Everything was annoying you. You were mad about being sick, mad that TV was boring, mad that your nose was running, mad that your throat hurt. Mad mad mad.
“Okay grumpy, why don't you go sit on the couch and I’ll make you something to eat? We’ve got some great boxed mac and cheese.” she offered, trying to guess what you were thinking. She was right of course, the most frustrating thing about your current situation was that all you had eaten was soup. You were so done with soup.
“Fine.” You took in a quick breath and sneezed again, making the same sound as earlier. Yelena laughed and leaned over to kiss your forehead, the bed shifting with her weight.
“Rest котенок. Food will be ready when you are.” As she left you allowed yourself a small smile. You were touched by her warmth, something saved only for you. She had such a hard exterior, which made sense considering what she had been through, and her caring held a different level of meaning.

“you owe me sleep, so much sleep.” c.c. aurel
or
part 3 of the Kara and Lena not really dealing with things until the universe makes them trilogy.
Lena takes Kara home after the events "Kara" and in between "desk"
----
The ride home had been quiet.
The brief levity of earlier having quickly evaporated into the cold air as they stepped outside.
Lena stole glances at her in between the press of steadying hands.
Kara's eyes lingered on the way her jaw tensed ever so slightly still.
Lena had Frank take them to Kara's apartment.
Maybe because it was closer.
Maybe because she didn't know what else to do.
Kara wanted to think it was because it was a comfort.
The sound of the lock clicking into place behind them echoed throughout the apartment, louder than she imagined it should have sounded.
Kara leaned against the door as she waited for Lena to hang up her jacket.
"Are you cold?" Lena asked, her voice low and tinged with concern. "Your windows are open; I can close them."
"Uh...no, I'm fine," Kara replied, shifting her weight from one foot to another. She glanced down at her arms and found the beginning of small goosebumps there.
"Are you sure?" Lena hesitated, stepping closer and brushing a strand of hair from Kara's face.
Kara nodded, leaning into Lena's touch.
Her eyes drifted to Lena's lips. "yeah," remembering their fleeting touch earlier, "It's just...it's been a long day."
"Let's get you some rest then," Lena replied softly,
"Wait," Kara murmured, reaching out to catch Lena's hand just as she was about to step into the bathroom. Fingers closing around Lena's wrist before she could disappear.
"Are-are you okay?" Kara asked softly.
Wants to really ask, 'are we okay'?
Lena hesitated, her gaze flickering away towards the clock in the kitchen that blinks back a bleary 11:58.
"It's been a long day."
Lena's lips curved into a semblance of a smile.
"I'll meet you in the bedroom, okay?"
She'd already taken a shower. All she had to do was change.
But it still takes longer than it normally does to get ready for bed.
Her hands too clumsy.
Her body too sore.
She couldn't even get comfortable as she settled into her bed.
She stays as still as her body lets her, tries to become familiar with its pain, familiar with the feel of the sheets on her skin, familiar with the sounds in her ears.
When Lena settles into bed beside her, it's with only inches between them. Still, Kara can feel the tension in her body, the way she's trying to keep herself in one place, too — she never wants to become familiar with such a thing.
Eventually, Lena shifts closer.
Fingertips brushing against her hand, along the bandaids she finds there.
Her head found its way onto her shoulder, her breath warm and steady against her skin.
"I'm not mad at you."
A sigh escapes Lena's lips, her chest rising and falling gently with Kara's own.
"I know."
"I'm still not, not mad at you, though."
I know."
"I was scared."
"I know....I'm sorry." Guilt gnawing again at the edges of her thoughts.
She turns her head slightly, her nose brushing against Lena's hair.
Lena reaches out, her hand searching for Kara's in the dark, finding it among the shadows.
Kara?" Lena whispered, sheets rustling beneath them.
"Yeah?" Kara replied softly.
"You can have those hugs now if you want."
A small smile tugged at Kara's lips, and she drew Lena fully into her arms.
Kara traces the curve of her back, her shoulder, her neck.
Becomes familiar with the feel of her skin. With the softness of her hair — with everything she possibly can.
"You smell like cardamom." Kara smiles gently, caressing Lena's cheek with her thumb.
"My perfume."
Lena replied softly, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. Kara could feel the subtle movement against her shoulder.
"And black pepper."
"My lotion."
There was a hint of amusement as her hand brushed the skin just under Kara's shirt.
"I don't know what this is called. It smells a little like your tea." Kara murmured, her breath stirring strands of Lena's hair as she nuzzled her nose into the crook of her neck.
"Your shampoo." Lena shifted closer, slipping her leg between Kara's
"It smells better on you."
"Does it really feel different without your powers?" Lena asked, her question laced with curiosity and vulnerability.
"I don't have to be as careful," Kara admits, running her fingers through Lena's hair, letting them get tangled in the ends.
Kara?" Lena whispered.
"Hmm"
Lena arches her chin up from Kara's chest, catching her bottom lip with both of hers. Kara's hands fall from Lena's hair to the planes of her back. Pulls her in closer. Winces at the slight protest in her ribs. Lena tries to lift up just a little. But Kara keeps her there.
"I'm okay," she protests softly.
Lena relaxes back into her. Places another kiss to the top of her chest, to the hollow of her throat, and then again more firmly to her lips.
When they pull apart, Lena leans forward, keeping her forehead against Kara's and smiling softly, tiredly, "Now, sleep ... You owe me sleep, so, so much sleep."
But Kara stays awake for a while longer, the clock now long past that threshold of midnight that had first greeted them, fingers brushing the back of Lena's hand, feeling the soft skin and the steady pulse as she sleeps. It is a poor replacement for the sound of the heartbeat she has become so used to, but for now, it will do.

Lena had spent so long at her lab bench that she’d started to forget what sleep felt like. A plate rested by her left hand, holding the half-eaten remnants of a muffin. She’d consumed a few bites after Alex threatened to spoon feed her.
The speeches, the impassioned pleas for her to get some rest, the pep talks had all slowed and finally stopped. She would never give up, never rest until Kara was home; it was Lena’s fault that Kara had been locked in a hell outside reality. It was Lena’s job to get her back.
She barely noticed the soft sound of boots behind her. Alex, probably; the hour was too late for anyone else; Brainy and Nia had called it a night and J’onn was out on patrol.
A hand fell on her shoulder and she turned, a barb for Alex on her tongue, only to scream. The muffin plate slid towards the floor to shatter, turning in space.
Kara snatched it from the air, deftly recovering both the plate and the pastry, carefully placing them on the bench. Lena watched her in utter astonishment, her eyes wide and mouth open. It took a moment for it to register.
Kara was here. Lena stared, too stunned for words. She was just… here. Her brilliant blue eyes flashed with unrestrained joy and relief, and Lena’s heart thudded in her chest. She moved, ready to throw herself into Kara’s arms. She needed to hug Kara. Being held by Kara Danvers was like being held by a castle.
Lena froze.
It was Kara and yet… not. She seemed older, though not in any tangible way- what struck Lena more was that her golden locks had been shorn short, and a long scar dragged down her left cheek. When she’d been pulled into the Phantom Zone, Kara had been dressed in her uniform, but now…
Kara wore a hodgepodge of armor and worn leathers over her supersuit. There was a sword slung on her back and a heavy, obviously alien pistol rode on her hip.
“Kara…” Lena began.
“Not yet,” Kara whispered, her voice as gentle as a caress. “Please, not yet. Just let me look at you.”
Her hands rose tenderly to Lena’s face, slender fingers tracing gently over her skin.
Lena swallowed.
“I was starting to think you were never real,” said Kara. “Sometimes I would think I’d made you up, that none of it ever happened and I was just going mad from all the memories piling up on each other…”
“Kara?” Lena whispered, gently placing her hands on Kara’s. “How did you get here?”
Her hands fell from Lena’s cheeks, coming to rest at her waist. Tears flowed freely down her cheeks, quivering at her chin.
“I used Vandal Savage’s time machine.”
“Who?” said Lena.
“It doesn’t matter,” said Kara. “There’s time, now. There’s still time.”
“Time for what?”
“To save you.”

Vengeance, Victory, and Undying Love - pt 12 - Epilogue
12th and final chapter of my Supercorp fic in which Lena still creates something called Non Nocere to deal with her broken heart after finding out Supergirl's identity, but this time she gives the name to a different project. A more personal one. And now she’s coming for Supergirl.
The full story is also available to read on Ao3
...............
The first few days had been intense, both of them desperate for the emotional closeness they had been missing since Lex’s bombshell, and the physical closeness that was proving to be a revelation to their touch starved bodies.
Lena had cancelled appointments and shareholder meetings recklessly, and it was only Kara’s ability to pull a last minute exclusive with Supergirl out the bag that kept her from being fired after the fourth day she hadn’t shown up for work.
They had spent every minute of that time together. Talking. Crying. Kissing. More than kissing. Until at last things had begun to settle, and they found that what was left was…
Joy.
Pure, simple joy in each other’s company and the fact that finally, against all the odds, they had ended up exactly where they had always been heading.
Of course, their bliss bubble couldn’t last for ever, and eventually they both acknowledged that they were going to have to get up, put on their big-girl pants (or really, any pants at all at that point) and go and make things right at their respective work places.
After that things fell more or less into a better version of the way they had been before, only now sleepovers after movie nights were a forgone conclusion, and their sleeplessness included much more than just talking all night (though there was plenty of talking too). During the first one Kara had told Lena all about her fantasy of the picnic basket and the sunrise, and while that particular dawn found them too busy (and much too naked) to go flying about the countryside, they got round to it eventually, and it was everything Kara had hoped it would be.
Even with the amount they still had to talk through and all the emotional processing that needed to be done, when it was just the two of them even the hard parts felt as natural as breathing.
It took a little longer with the others.
There was still some wariness on both sides, and the first games night Lena turned up to, nervous and clutching an excessively pricey bottle of wine as a peace offering, had been… strained, to say the least.
No one had actually said anything against her – had even hugged her and told her they were glad she was back – but the conversation didn’t flow as naturally as it once had, and there were more than a few glances at Lena and Kara’s linked hands, as if they all badly wanted to comment but had been told not to make a big deal over it.
It was difficult, and it made Lena want to ice up and hide behind her old Luthor-trained emotional defences again, but she persevered, and so did they, and bit by bit the tension eased until it seemed as if they had been able to paper over the cracks in their group dynamic and settle into a new normal.
At least, until the night at Al’s when they had all had a one drink too many, and somehow the conversation had gotten on to the subject of relationships.
Kara had taken Lena’s hand and said how happy and lucky she felt to be with someone she could feel fully herself with, and the others had smiled and agreed.
All except Alex.
Alex and Lena had had their own whisky-assisted heart to heart weeks before and had thought the air was clear between them, but now Alex turned to Lena and jabbed a finger at her with the sort of intensely earnest frown only achievable by the moderately inebriated.
‘You know Lena, I am so mad at you’.
Kara froze, glancing between her sister and her girlfriend.
‘Hey, Alex come on, it’s all in the past-’
‘No, no Kara it’s not. I am so mad at her’.
The whole table was silent now, holding their breath and waiting for whatever would happen next, no one quite knowing how to diffuse the pending argument.
To her credit, Lena wasn’t biting back. Her happy smile had faded and she was clutching Kara’s hand twice as tightly as before, but she was waiting, outwardly calm, to allow Alex the space to say whatever she so clearly needed to get off her chest.
‘I mean seriously. How the hell are any of us supposed to make a grand romantic gesture ever again after that? It has got to be the single most dramatic, over the top way of declaring your undying love for someone ever’.
She paused and grinned round at them all, seeming not to notice the tension she had created and the confusion that followed it after this remark.
‘Undying. Get it? Because she literally cured Kara of the one thing that could kill her?’
Alex laughed at her own joke, betraying the fact that she at least, had passed well over the tipsy/drunk dividing line.
‘It’s freakin’ ridiculous. Brilliant, but ridiculous. Still, I’m going to get my own back one day. When I tell this story in my sister-of-the-bride speech at your wedding’.
The tension eased, and a couple of people chuckled along as everyone realised that there wasn’t going to be a fight after all, but they didn’t relax entirely until Lena joined in the laughter and put an arm companionably around Alex’s shoulders.
‘I can’t wait to hear it’.
And that’s when Kara knew for sure that everything was going to be alright.
And also that one day, maybe not for years, but one day, she would hear that speech.
Because she was going to marry Lena Luthor.

Alright people, just got my early access of the Magnus Protocol Premiere. Been thinking about whether I should do a live blog like I did for Magnus Archives. Still not sure but we're just gonna start it and see where it's going. Tbh I've been so out of the loop with the podcast I didn't even know the premiere episode was coming and I have no idea when further episodes are getting released. I thought it would start next year! Anyway, I'm gonna put all my reactions down below under the read more so I'm not accidentally spoiling anyone.
That intro music is amazing. Love it.
So glad they included a transcript, I would've already been lost with all these voices. That's what I loved about tma, never got confused there because the introduction to the characters was so nice and slow
Oh, here we are then! Jumpscared by Alex already. Did not expect him to turn up so soon. I'm certain there's nothing sinister going on here. Not me already theorizing that it's Martin who got stuck in the system or something after Mag200. But that means Jonny is one of the other voices who occasionally reads out the statements, right? Gotta be. So Chester or Augustus, who do you think he is? Putting my money on Augustus I think. Why? Because why not.
First look at the Fears?? Is it the Stranger? That's got to be the Stranger, right?
The transcript has these little stage directions and I gotta say I'm in love with "Lena's office is pristine, sterile and has nothing that might indicate its occupant would be brash enough to have a personality"
Btw don't know the in universe reason for the recording yet but friends, your microphones are shit. Jon's recordings were never as bad! Your voices do that thing where it gets frizzy. Might I suggest using a tape recorder?
Is that more static in the background I'm hearing when Gwen says "I'm not most people." Oh, I kinda missed overanalysing sound cues.
We have great vegetarian sausages in Germany too, Colin. I already like that poor IT guy
Sam I really don't think this is the job if you're "just trying to get back on your feet" There must be more going on there
Damn, had a 50/50 chance and didn't get it. So you're Chester then, Jonny? Really can't decide if I would love it more if these voices had some connection to tma or if there's just no reason at all.
I actually read a fanfic like that before. Immediatly though about it when I heard Alex's voice. Jon was sorta trapped in the tape recorder. All Martin and co had were his recorded statements on tape and at some point Jon got like powerful enough to be able to communicate through the tape recorder I think. Was a really great read. Would be funny if this turns out to be similar
Oh, Magnus Archives ruins!! What are you gonna find there RedCanary?? This is exciting
Of course you've been having trouble uploading the pictures, RedCanary! And I don't think that's you're normal getting paranoid either. Oh, I love this. It's like my old friend, spooky Magnus Institute is back
An Archive, you say?? And it's empty. Interesting.
Side note, the music during this is fantastic. Like loved it from the beginning but right now? Amazing.
"What the hell is that? Are those eyes?" Never thought I'd actually be happy about eyes getting mentioned. But eyes, people!! This statement has everything: Magnus Institute, some poor bugger who's descending into paranoia and madness, weird symbols, an artefact (?), ominous texts ("Canaries should stay above ground", okay obviously a reference to the user name red canary but also do you think that has anything to do with like mining. Weren't birds used to detect gas?), eyes and were those the last few notes of the tma intro in the background music?
Oh, who is listening then? Can't mean me, Colin

“Are you sure you’ll be okay?” Lena asks, an anxious hand reaching out to run her fingers over Lizzie’s onesie-covered little leg. She’s still amazed at how small their daughter is, even though she’s grown so much in the first six weeks of her life, amazed at how someone so little, can hold so much of her heart.
“We’ll be fine,” Alex smiles, gently bouncing the baby in her arms. “You two need a break.” To prove her point, Alex nods her head at Kara. Kara’s head is resting on the back of the couch, eyes closed, mouth half open in sleep, despite the fact that she’d been talking not two minutes ago.
“Okay,” Lena agrees, the exhaustion really settling in at the prospect of having an uninterrupted nap. You know having a baby is tiring when it wears out even a superhero. “But wake us if you need anything?”
Lena knows Alex will be fine, that Lizzie is in capable hands, and they’re literally just going to be next door asleep, but it still makes her nervous to leave.
“Yes, of course, now wake up your wife before she drools everywhere and go have a nap.”
“Be good for your aunt, okay Liz?” Lena says, voice soft as she leans down, pressing a gentle kiss to her baby’s forehead. She lingers for a moment, breathes in that baby smell that is so intoxicating and comforting.
When Lena leans away, Alex is watching her with a soft smile. So her next words confuse Lena.
“I still can’t believe you let Kara call her that.”
Lena frowns. “What? Elizabeth?”
Lena had loved the name as soon as Kara had suggested it. It’s part Eliza, part keeping with the Luthor naming tradition when they call her Liz or Lizzie, and part Kara too, the nickname El being used from time to time to. And then when she first laid eyes on their daughter, both physically and emotionally exhausted, she’d known immediately that they’d chosen the right name.
“Elizabeth Anya,” Alex corrects.
Which, again, makes no sense. The middle name didn’t have any particular meaning, just that they both liked the name.
Elizabeth Anya Danvers-Luthor.
It suits the little bundle in Alex’s arms.
“Wait,” Alex says, eyes searching Lena’s face. For what, Lena’s not sure. Clearly she needs sleep, this conversation is making no sense.
“Do you not know?” Alex asks.
“Know what?”
“I…” Alex’s eyes dart away.
“Alex.”
“Liz Anya,” Alex says, like it explains everything when it does nothing to solve Lena’s confusion.
She rolls the name around a few times in her mind, and it’s the third time she thinks the name, that it sinks in.
She rounds on her wife, knee knocking her against Kara’s to wake her up.
“Kara.”
Kara jolts awake, springs off the couch slightly too fast to be human. “What? What’s wrong? Is Liz okay?”
“She’s fine,” Lena grounds out. “Or she would be okay if her mom didn’t name her after pasta.”
Kara freezes, eyes wide.
“You knew,” Lena accuses. “You knew and you let us name our child lasagna?”
“I…” Kara’s eyes dart to Alex, clearly searching for help, but Lena’s not letting her off that easy.
“When did you figure it out? Was it before or after she was born? Or did you do it on purpose? You were the one who suggested the name Anya.”
Lena feels a little stupid for not picking it up earlier herself, but she’ll blame the fact the she was growing a baby inside of her, and then for the last six weeks, she’s been a little distracted.
“I promise, I didn’t know when I suggested it.”
“When did you figure it out?”
“Not until after she was born…but then I didn’t tell you because I called her ‘my little lasagna’ once and you should’ve seen her, she smiled! It was too cute and I just knew she loved the name and I didn’t want you to change it.”
“She probably just had gas,” Lena mumbles. Whether that’s true or not, Lena knows she’d do anything to make their daughter smile.
“Are you mad?” Kara asks, fingers threading through Lena’s, pulling her closer.
“I’m not mad,” Lena sighs. “But we are not calling her ‘Lasagna’.”
“I make no promises,” Kara smiles.
Lena presses her lips together in an effort not to smile herself, but the movement draws blue eyes down to Lena’s mouth.
Kara leans forward, Lena can feel warm breath on her lips, but right before they meet, Alex interrupts the moment.
“I am not babysitting so you guys can do that.”
Kara pulls away to glare at her sister over Lena’s shoulder, but Alex’s presence doesn’t stop Kara turning back to Lena and giving her a quick kiss anyway.
“Come on,” Lena smiles. “I need sleep.” She tugs on their joined hands, pulling them towards their bedroom.
“Thanks Alex,” Kara calls over her shoulder, and despite the fact that it’s only 10am, she adds. “And good night my baby Lasagna.”
Lena’s not going to admit it out loud, but it is sort of a cute nickname, at least when Kara says it.
And her grinning wife is even cuter as she tugs them into the bedroom.
“I am not letting you name our next kid,” Lena says as she collapses onto the bed.
“I was thinking we could call our next daughter, May,” Kara says, falling to the bed beside Lena, instantly closing the space between them.
Lena thinks for a moment as Kara buries her face in Lena’s neck, sleep already tugging at her senses as she tries to figure out why Kara might want to name their child that.
Kara helps her out, the next words brushed against the underside of Lena’s jaw. “Short for Mayonnaise.”
There are so many actual names that are food related, like Olive or Rosemary, but of course Kara would think of the random ones.
Lena feels the smile pressed into her neck, before Lena shifts to press her own kiss to the top of Kara’s head as she mumbles, “no,” into blonde hair.
If Kara responds, Lena doesn’t hear her, sleep pulling her under, too comfortable and warm in her wife’s embrace to stay awake any longer.

Note
actually I'm gonna make a list of MW codenames. We already know Angela is Vengeance
Akande: Boonfist or Dawnfist
Olivia: Destello or Brillo meaning flash or glow
Amelie: Webmaker
Ana: Shrike still works or maybe Jazaar meaning butcher cuz shrikes are called butcher birds and I think that fits
Reinhardt: Dunkleritter meaning dark knight or Zerschmettern meaning shatter or Raserai meaning frenzy like his new passive
Brigitte: Förfalska or Smält
Lena: Bloodthirst or Vampire or Carmilla
Zarya: we could use Mogila meaning grave as in gravity, or Omega if she's somewhat of a Sigma equivalent or Izgnaniye meaning expulsion
Tumblr media
Ok so with MW!Akande specifically his name would still be Doomfist, as that code name is not something he picked but something that comes with the gauntlet he uses. Not only that but the first Doomfist was a hero, so I doubt that his name specifically would change.
For Sombra, her even going by her real name is the switch, though I do think she would go by a code name due to the fact I highly doubt that she isn't involved with Blackwatch. I also really like the code names you picked, so I'd also like to present the code name I think she'd go by; Azucar (a reference to HoN, specifically the wirless connection she uses to hack).
For Amelie, though it is confirmed that she goes by Captain Lacroix in this universe, it is also confirmed that Gerard is alive, and I highly doubt he's a civilian or at least has always been a civilian. So I like to think that Amelie would have had a code name when she was a cadet. As for the code name you suggested may I suggest Webdancer or Spiderdancer? mainly because the "maker" part of Widowmaker was mainly a play on words because she made herself a widow. So I think that part of her name doesn't really make sense in this universe. For my reasoning for Spiderdancer specifically, The Spider is actually a dance technique in ballet, and I thought that was fitting.
Ana, I have no notes for, honestly completely see her just going by Shrike in this universe. Same with Brig and Rein.
For Lena I was honestly thinking Slipstream, mainly because this Tracer is very revenge focused, probably specifically towards Overwatch. So it would make sense that her code name would be a constant reminder that Overwatch caused this, that they did this to her.
As for Zarya I was thinking "Sirus" the meaning of the actual name is 'glowing' or 'scorching' but this is more of a reference to Sirius B, a white dwarf star, which is the opposite of a supernova. Supernova being Zarya's namesake.
Sorry if this ended up being a big tangent, you just gave me a big brain blast. The names you did a really good though and I really like them!! You did a really good job of researching what the names mean and how they would fit with the characters. Mad respect to you for that!

Forgotten first meeting + flirting under fire AUs
But ALSO just wanted to drop some support and say do what you (and your creative brain) needs! While I love your fic, I am tots happy to wait. What you’ve written already is a gift
-Lena is a spy, though she’d have a few choice words for anyone who dared call her that to her face.
-She prefers to think of herself as an actor that prefers performing in life more so than on camera or a stage. Every word she says and place she goes are all carefully, methodically orchestrated to her advantage. Well, to her family’s advantage if she’s being honest, though she rarely is.
-The Luthor empire operates in the shadows, unnamed but ever-present. It feeds on lies, secrets, and blackmail, and Lena loves digging up all three. No one can find what people are desperate to hide quite like Lena can.
-So when Lex learns about a possible new player on the market, it’s Lena he sends to infiltrate the inner circle and find their weaknesses. They can’t touch anyone significant, not at first, but they learn that this supposed rival organization has donated a significant amount of money to a political campaign. The politician is a nobody, but somebody important seems to like her. That’s a starting point.
-this leads her to a political fundraising event for this nobody up-and-comer named Kara Danvers, who smiles pretty and talks even prettier. She’s a charmer, coming across as friendly and familiar with everyone she speaks to, and as Lena watches her through the night talk and laugh with an easy kindness, she just knows this’ll be an easy mark.
-She waits in line to talk to her. The line is long and unmoving, as every conversation with Kara Danvers is treated like the most important conversation, resulting in a line that lasts far longer than it should. She’s friendly to a fault with each person who waits to meet her, which would annoy her if it weren’t giving her the perfect chance to just observe.
-She’s attractive. Annoyingly so, to a degree that makes Lena mad. It’s annoying and distracting, watching this person talk and laugh. Watching the way her shirt fits tight enough to show definition. There’s something about her that just radiates safety and comfort, familiar in a way she can’t quite place. It’s annoying as hell.
-It takes well over an hour for her to finally reach her. She tries to shake off her annoyance at that and instead focus on the mission: form a connection, make an impression. Seduce her. -Kara shakes the hand of the person before her with great care, cupping their hand with her free one and smiling bright. She’s still watching them depart when Lena steps forward with her sultriest smile and outstretched hand.
-“Hello-“ Kara greets, turning towards her and taking her hand. And then she freezes.
-It’s a long, painful moment standing there, Lena’s hand trapped in Kara’s unmoving one. Kara’s smile falls into a caricature of itself, forced and unpleasant, and what joyous light Lena has witnessed dancing across her eyes all evening vanishes. Her expression now is cold and subdued.  -“Hi,” Lena says, and her voice wavers like an amateur, like she hasn’t been doing this for the last decade of her life, “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” What the hell is going on?
-Kara pulls her hand back and holds it limply at her side. Her eyes dart around, a desperation present Lena can’t quite comprehend. -“Right,” Kara says, tone flat. “Thank you for your support.”  -and then she steps aside and moves to the next person in line.
-she just disregards Lena, like she hadn’t waited in line for an hour to talk to her, like she wasn’t wearing a tight-fitting dress that made it damn near impossible not to look. It makes her mad, and for a moment she forgets her purpose.
-“Excuse me?” she grabs Kara’s arm to pull her back towards her only to find her unmovable, her muscled arm tense in Lena’s grip. “I’ve paid a great deal of money to be here, I’d appreciate a conversation.”
-Kara’s eyes are so cold, face hard. She’s almost unrecognizable compared to the woman she’s watched all evening.
-“I can’t imagine what there is for us to talk about,” Kara says, and Lena sees red.
-“Listen here,” she starts, finger pointing with fury, when the door bursts open and a bunch of heavily armed mobster-types come rushing in.
-chaos ensues, running and screaming, Kara ducks out of a side door and Lena’s close behind.
-Lena’s like why the hell are people trying to kill you? And Kara’s dodgy. Banter banter, Kara’s more than meets the eye, Lena finds herself flirting with her without even meaning to – there’s just something about her energy, and honestly it’s hard not to be a little horny when the adrenaline’s pumping and shots are ringing out over head.
-“What are you trying to do?” Kara says, cold even as she tugs Lena close against her to avoid being seen. Lena tries not to let it affect her.
-“Just trying to get to know my future congresswoman.” Kara laughs, shakes her head. -“Enough with the games. What’s really going on, Lena?”
-And that… that makes her heart drop a little. She called her Lena. Anxious little bumps dance up her arms at the intensity in Kara’s eyes. -“I never told you my name,” she says, pulling back. Kara looks at her like she’s speaking in tongues. -“Is this a joke? I don’t-” and then Kara freezes, eyes wide, and her voice shakes with anger. “You don’t remember me, do you?” Kara’s voice is angry and hurt, and Lena would really appreciate it if whatever heart-to-heart she’s attempting to have with her could possibly wait until after they’d escaped the gunfire. Kara, damn her, presses on. “You don’t remember Cabo?”
She racks her brain for a clue, for any semblance.
It’s hard to remember places she’s been. Every day she wakes up in a new city with a new role, a new identity.  Cabo is one of her favorite vacation spots, and two years ago she knows she took a month-long trip there after a particularly bad mission. She remembers days spent on the beach, nights spent dancing. A beautiful smile and laugh from a stranger, tall and tan and full of a sweet kindness Lena hadn’t known what to do with. Nights of sweat and passion and empty words whispered into her ear about the future. She remembers getting a call for her next job and leaving in the middle of the night with ease, shedding that self for a new one.
-She looks into Kara’s eyes shimmering with anger and faintly remembers those same eyes filled with pitiful puppy love.
- “Oh shit,” she says, and Kara laughs cruelly. -“Yeah. Oh shit.”

Safe.
That is what always comes to mind when Kara is with Andrea and Lena.
Mistress and Mommy, her two protectors who are trying so hard to help her through the feelings that she doesn’t always understand herself. They don’t have high expectations of her, nor do they seem disappointed with her when Kara doesn’t wish to play.
If anything, they seem thrilled when she just wishes to stick close to their sides, a little girl who requires nothing more than love and acceptance. All she has to do is follow the rules she agreed to follow, or to at least communicate properly if there’s a rule she doesn’t fully agree with—though, that hasn’t happened yet and Kara doubts that it ever will.
She likes following the rules and being their good little girl and, sometimes, she likes it just as much when they catch her being a little troublemaker and dole out a punishment that makes the space between her thighs throb with delight.
There’s still lingering doubts, though. Doubts that are born from her own issues and insecurities.
Like now, as Kara raids the refrigerator in the middle of the night, her stomach drops when a light goes on in the hallway and she hears the creaking of floorboards right outside the kitchen door.
Will they be mad at her for taking the food? For being out of bed long after Mommy and Mistress had tucked the blanket around her shoulders and kissed her goodnight? Kara’s brow wrinkles and her breath catches in her throat when Lena steps into the kitchen, apologies automatically spilling from her lips as she fears that this may be the final straw that will strip her from her beloved safety.
“What kind of Mommy would I be if I got upset with you for being hungry, darling?”

BIG MAGNUS PROTOCOL SPOILERS FOR EP 1 AND 2! YOUVE BEEN WARNED!
Ok I have a theory. Has this already been posted? Probably, but I'm brain rotting.
It's mainly based off of this bit in the transcripts (pls note im getting my transcripts from the unofficial transcript archive, however as far as I know these transcripts are still accurate and the the same as the official transcripts)
Tumblr media
This is literally from the first episode, the first non-spoken lines are about a computer listening. No, sorry not listening eavesdropping. As a writer you wouldn't use the word eavesdropping unless it was ment to personify something. Maybe I'm looking too much into this, but like- this is only where my decent into tmp madness starts. Ofc Norris and Chester being voiced by Jonny and Alex heavily implies that some part of Jon and Martin's soul has been transferred into the computers, or programs, files, or whatever you wanna call it. There's not quite enough info to determine how much of them is trapped in the computers, but im quite certain more than just there voice is trapped. There's emotion in the voices, especially Martin's (because ofcourse there would be, my favorite poet-) once again personifying the computers. Now, im not sure if the eavesdropping computer was 'Norris' or 'Chester' or even 'Augustus.' At first I though 'Oh well lots of people are theorizing that Augustus is Jonah and I was convinced. Not the mention that supports my connection to the eavesdropping computer. Because ofcourse, Jonah would be eavesdropping, especially seeing as we're all theorizing that Gwen is related to Elias. (Bouchard lastname)
NOW. HEAR ME OUT. The Bouchard lastname isn't inherently connected to Jonah Magnus. Before Elias was possessed by Jonah, he was just some guy. I can't remember excatly what ep of mag that's in, but I distinctly remember someone mentioning how odd it was that Elias went from a low level position at the institute with issues of some kind? I forgot what kind? Anyways what I'm trying to say is while yes, it makes sense that Elias and Gwen are related, that doesn't mean Qwen has anything to do with Jonah. Especially since as far as I know, Jonah was obliterated. Like... he's gone gone- and this universe were listening in on is most likely (this might have been confirmed, I'm unsure) a whole alternate universe from the one the magnus archives took place in. Wait I think it was confirmed? Seeing as it burnt down in 1999 in this universe as far as I recall, and the tma podcast takes place in the mid 2010's. So pretty sure tma and tmp take place in different universes, tied togethor via the web. Think spider man into the spiderverse if your confused. (Sorry im really just rambling at this point)
Anyways. Now I'm thinking, the Jonah Magnus in the tma universe was destroyed.... meaning Augustus probably isn't Jonah? HOWEVER. I just though of something. Was the Jonah Magnus in the tmp universe destroyed??? Maybe he's just some guy who died before coming to use the power of the watcher, but... maybe not? Ok so... the main question I'm left with then is who's useing the computers to eavesdrop? Maybe it is this universes Jonah, whoever he's possessed this time... my bets on Lena, but that's a whole other theory that I don't feel like going on a tangent about rn. Maybe it's Chuch, Norris, and/or Augustus. Maybe Augustus is Annabelle? Idk.
Anyways, I'm gonna use this as a thread and add onto it the more thoughts I have on this :3
