In honour of all the j2 content we have recieved, and the amount of fanfiction I have read, I decided to make a rec-list nobody asked me for but EVERYONE has to read k? Capiche? Election Day is important but to Jensen nothing is more important than Jared and he doesn't care who knows it or if he loses so long as he can be with him. [ 365 Days of SasuHina || Day Two Hundred Thirty-Seven: The Confrontation ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Hyūga Hinata, Hyūga Hiashi ] [ SasuHina ] [ Verse: Best Years of Your Life ] [ AO3 Link ]

She knew it was going to happen eventually, but...well, that didn’t mean Hinata was looking forward to it, by any means. Part of her had hoped they’d make it through the Summer without Hiashi digging too deeply.

After all, at the beginning of this particular break between her sophomore and junior years of high school, Hinata’s life took a rather unexpected turn. A u-turn, to be exact. For almost a decade, her childhood friend had left her alone, in the dark, with hardly a word of explanation.

When Itachi and Sasuke’s parents died, many things changed. Primarily among them was the welcoming Hinata had received a year beforehand. The brothers had quickly adopted Hinata into their group when she, her sister, and her father moved into the house next door. Hinata had recently lost her mother, prompting the move across town. Staying in their first house had been too painful...for her, and for her father. But though her melancholy lingered, it lightened with her friendship with the boys.

Not only that, but their parents had taken a quick liking to the shy, quiet little girl. For a time, it was almost like they’d gotten the daughter they’d always wanted. Hinata attended some of her earliest classes with Sasuke, Itachi already in junior high by that time. And for that first year...things were good. She had friends, a new branch of her family, and though her father was still distant for his own mourning, Hinata was able to vent hers in a way that suited her.

But tragedy, it seemed, followed in her shadow.

The following Summer, with the suddenness of a car wreck...Fugaku and Mikoto were gone. The boys’ aunt, Mikoto’s sister, moved in and adopted the boys alongside her own son Shisui. But nothing was the same. Though Itachi was apologetic in his withdrawal, Sasuke didn’t even have the heart to explain, too devastated and lost within his sorrow.

Suddenly everything Hinata had gained...was gone.

The rest of elementary, all of junior high, and half of high school was spent practically alone. Having few other friends, and none nearly as close, Hinata drifted along as a wallflower, reserved and still wounded by the loss of her friend. Sasuke still attended all the same schools, but...he was a stranger. Any attempt to speak to him was ignored, any letter unanswered. He had retreated completely within himself...and for nearly ten years, there was just no room for her.

But one early Summer evening had changed that. Having caught Sasuke practicing one of Mikoto’s favorite songs on the guitar, Hinata had finally gotten a reply when she spoke across the gap between their windowsills.

And then, suddenly...it all came rushing back. As though no time had passed. The pair picked up their friendship just as it had left off...though Hinata would admit to a slight caution, wondering if he might just drop her again without warning.

With their renewed bond came a new pastime: Sasuke had taken up the habit of wandering after curfew, and Hinata was soon invited to join him. Together, the pair would wander the neighborhood under the streetlights, the entire suburb quiet and sleeping as they explored in the shadows. Again and again, Hinata was sure they’d be caught. But Hiashi never mentioned her late night wanderings, and Hinata never offered.

And then came the night where things changed all over again.

Armed with a blanket and a clear sky to stargaze, the pair had taken to hiding in the park atop the jungle gym, watching the night sky and talking quietly.

It was then Sasuke broke the tension...and asked if she wanted to evolve from friends to...something more.

She’d agreed.

So, the rest of the Summer has been spent with a new label, and yet...very little feels different. Sure, there’s a bit more...nerves when he’s around, and sometimes they hold hands. He’s even given her cheek a peck once or twice by now. But neither have informed their guardians of the change.

Sasuke is certain his aunt isn’t about to mind. She has far more to worry about overall, let alone concerning her nephew, than a blooming high school relationship.

Hiashi, however...is a different story. Hinata’s never even talked about boys with her father, and his strict leash has her assuming that the notion of her dating someone will go over poorly. She’s always been one of the good kids - straight-laced, good grades, obeying her curfew (to her father’s knowledge). Surely a boyfriend will reflect poorly on everything else in her father’s eyes.

So, the pair make no move to let on, acting romantically only when they’re certain they’re alone. Hiashi has begrudgingly allowed the revitalized friendship, having no rebuttal against Sasuke visiting his daughter, or vice versa. But neither are willing to test his opinion on them being something a bit more than friends.

But somehow - be it a slip up of their own, or some kind of fatherly intuition - Hiashi catches on. And that brings about the confrontation.

“Hinata.”

Stopping mid-step on her way outside, she turns to see her father seated at the dining room table.

...alone.

Unease blooms in her gut. “Y...yes?”

“Sit.”

...oh shit. Trying not to let her growing inner panic show, she takes a seat opposite him. “...um…?”

“It has come to my attention that you have been sneaking out past your curfew.”

She stiffens just a hair.

“...and it would seem you do so in order to spend unsupervised time with Sasuke. Do you deny it?”

“I-I…” Her brain scrambles, trying to think of a way to explain. “He invited me to go for walks. He, um...he does so to clear his head. And I go with him to make sure that he’s, um...that he’s okay.”

Hiashi doesn’t look convinced, expression stony as ever. “You’re sure nothing else happens during these walks?”

“...like what?”

“Drinking, smoking…” He waves a hand. “Whatever you kids get up to these days.”

Hinata balks. “N-no! I’ve never done either in my life! And as far as I know, he doesn’t either! Honestly, Father...we just go for walks. It’s nice when it’s q-quiet. We sit, and we talk, and...that’s all.” Her form wilts a hair. “...we have a lot to catch up on, a-after all…”

He seems to consider that, eyeing her openly. “...well, regardless of your actions while out, you have still been breaking the curfew I set for you. Let alone the neighborhood curfew. Were you caught, you’d be in serious trouble, young lady.”

“I...I know. I’m sorry.”

“If you were sorry, you wouldn’t continue such behavior.”

“I d-didn’t see the harm, is all.”

Hiashi heaves a sigh. “...there are far worse things you could do, but a rule breaking is a rule breaking. You can spend the next week at home - your visiting privileges to other houses is revoked until school starts next Monday. Am I clear? And any further late-night wanderings will compound your punishment.”

“Y...yes sir.”

“Good. You may go. I advise you think over your priorities, Hinata.”

Having no further answers, she takes her leave and retreats upstairs, taking up her phone and relaying the conversation to Sasuke via text.

So...no coming over today, then.

No, sorry…

It’s fine. Glad you’re not in any worse trouble. It’s just a week.

I know, but still...I was hoping we could stargaze one more time before school started. And now I can’t do it at all...he’s pretty mad about curfew. At least he doesn’t seem to know about us.

Maybe you can stay over sometime and we’ll do it that way.

Stay over at a boy’s house? He’d flip.

You could tell him I’m gay.

What? NO!

Hahaha, kidding - pretty sure I’m too fond of kissing you to be gay :P

Well...at least we can still text and stuff, but...I’ll still miss you.

At that, Hinata smiles at her phone, saying a temporary goodbye as she flops atop her bed. Her last week of Summer break, and she has to spend it at home...wonderful. But Sasuke’s right: it’s just one week. It could be worse. For now, she’ll just bide her time, and be thankful that’s all he scolded her for...

Who the heck is my muse anyway:

Alanari is an exiled, raised-Dalish elf whose role in their main verse is the Herald, and later, Inquisitor. They were a scout with the benefit of middling magical talent, though they’re undertrained according to most standards.

Points of interest:

Alanari was exiled from their clan prior to the Conclave, and reactions from Dalish who know of their ‘crime’ can range from sympathy to hostility. Those who don’t have reason to know may make assumptions, and depending on their closeness, Alanari may correct them.

They’re an elvhen apostate who is initially suspected of murdering the highest-ranking human religious leader in Thedas, and even once their innocence is proven, distrust likely lingers.

At some point after the end of the main game, they’re openly in a relationship with an elf hailing from Tevinter. Whoops, more distrust.

They’re openly disdainful of nobility as a whole, without distinctions made for character or behavior. Their good opinion is hard-earned.

Not long after the first attempt to seal the Breach, Alanari attempts to flee Haven, only to be discovered and coaxed back by Solas.

They use their anger at the injustices committed by the world around them as a shield; to those who don’t care to look deeper, that anger is all they hold, and rather ineffectual, if also annoying.

What they’ve been up to recently:

They interrupt a ritual and get thrown into the Fade for it, then wake up to find they’re being blamed for events and deaths they can’t recall. They’re reluctant to stay when just about everyone around frightens them, and need encouragement to do so.

Eventually, they’re too involved to simply walk away (without being caught again), and soon after an enemy finally shows his face. It’s at this point that there’s no turning back, the responsibility outweighs their fear.

They leave Orlais to return to the Marches, and their immediate goal is to warn other clans of an increased threat: not Solas himself, necessarily, but any who might fear what he might do and seek to remove his potential allies.

Secondary to this (but not in terms of less importance) is protecting what refugees they can from others who might prey upon them, from bandits to slavers. Humans (and Vashoth) are sent on their way once safe, and elves are given an offer of a life where they need not exist in fear.

Thirdly, they learn what they can about the magic which still lingers in forgotten corners of the world. They have no intention of opposing the veil’s removal, but seek to protect the elves as a whole from the aftereffects.

Where to find them:

Anywhere Corypheus is a threat, and where there are rifts. This canonically ranges as far north as Kirkwall, but I would be interested in the possibility of them even further from the epicenter, say, Rivain (given the PC can contact a seer there to help Cole) or even Antiva. Interestingly, a ship bound for Antiva on the night the Breach formed came into contact with a legendary ship once it had docked, one which appeared to be manned by spirits.

Additionally, a letter found during Trespasser states that at least one rift was present in Antiva City, and was closed in the spring preceding the Exalted Council.

Within Skyhold, they can be found in their tower, the sparring ring, the barns, and the forge, where it’s not quiet, but where they can have a moment to breathe (and being there reminds them of their father).

Current plans:

To keep Corypheus from conquering Thedas. A magister from a time when elves, no matter their origin, were even worse off than in modern day, gaining more power is unacceptable.

(post-trespasser) They finally walk away from the inquisition and all the power it’d given them, in order to live and chase their own desires without restriction.

finding and rescuing refugees

hunting slavers

learning all they can about the nature and formation of the Veil, as well as possible outcomes of it being removed

exploring undisturbed temples, hoping to find artifacts and lingering magic they can put to use protecting the elves under their protection

Desired interactions:

Arguments regarding the far-reaching decisions they make. One which comes to mind first is the aftermath of the Wardens being banished. Something I’d like to explore is the decision being temporary and is rescinded once Corypheus is out of the picture and thus no longer able to seize direct control of Warden mages, which is something that frightened Alanari immensely.

Threads with Briala’s other agents, whether canon or OC.

Plotted interactions following the conclusion of trespasser. Alanari leaves Orlais, but they don’t exactly turn into a hermit, they’re active in the Free Marches and sometimes sneak into Tevinter. Possibilities I’m especially interested in are those where they’ve never met, and so your muse wouldn’t recognize them immediately, though there’s also room for them to realize given basic knowledge of what had happened to Alana during Trespasser.

Offered interactions:

Devout Andrastian muses making assumptions about them based on popular rumor, whether those involve them personally, or the Dalish as a whole, and whether said devout muse is willing to be corrected or not. If the latter, there’s the potential for negative relationship-building.

Also regarding Andrastians: muses who believe wholeheartedly that Alanari’s god-touched, and either having that affirmed or discouraged based on who they are or the actions they take.

Comparing differences in magic backgrounds and even just how there are little-referenced distinctions between elvhen and human senses and talents.

In the case of another elf holding political power, Alanari coming to face that anyone is capable of subjugation, and the worldview changes which might stem from that realization. Trespasser builds on this theme, with the inquisitor taking control of events in ways that only hurt their reputation and ultimately forced a drastic change.

Anything else?:

I prefer at least a little plotting, no matter the verse. In their main, it’s less of an issue (they can go just about anywhere and have access to most world leaders), but in others, I need to establish reasons for there to be interactions, since Alanari is up to things which necessitate some secrecy.

Hey guys, I’ve been meaning to do this for months but I’ve finally updated my rules. I’ll be copying and pasting this to my other blogs eventually but even before I do so, they do apply. Most of the changes are pretty obvious stuff, though the main one it my stance on non-mutuals.

Everything’s under the cut if you want to skim it. Realistically, these have been in place for a while but I feel like people have been taking advantage of how lax some of them are and not listening to common sense/courtesy. It doesn’t help that my rules were a massive chunk, so there are now 3 temporary categories for until I know how to fix this.

New/edited rules are in italics.

General RP:

Starters, inbox calls and threads are mutuals only. My inbox is open to anybody, however.

Muses that are available in multiple routes and/or games will be open to be interacted with in all verse. Any special, AU verses can be found on this page.

The usual no godmodding etc. stuff. You all know the drill.

If you are a child muse that mine can be a parent to - or vice versa, go ahead! Just make sure it’s obvious if you intend for your muses to be related.

I am somewhat selective with muses from other fandoms as well as OCs. This isn't because I have anything against them, but after being an FE rper for over 5 years, I've started noticing that I tend to drop things much quicker than with canon FE muses. I'm not against those kind of interactions, but it's more a heads up for you guys. People I'm already good friends with will probably have more luck, if I'm being honest.

Please specify which muse you’d like if you send me an ask. Unless it’s something obvious e.g. Odin saying "My daughter!" and meaning Ophelia.

Shipping, Doubles and Exlcusivity:

Don’t assume romantic relationships. More than anything, I ship chemistry, so it doesn’t matter if I’ve mentioned something being a bias of mine. So if we have never interacted and you come along assuming our muses to be in a relationship, don’t be surprised if you’re ignored. Characters having a one-sided crush are fine.

The only exception to that rule will be if we’ve discussed it in advance or perhaps if it’s a crack thread.

Whilst I do have mains that just come naturally from who’ve I’ve interacted with the most, I prefer not to do mains calls/outright state who they are on the dash as I know that can deter people from interacting.

In that respect, I don’t practice exclusivity. Unless we’re in a ship - then I might be willing to discuss it but unless I am told that you’re not comfortable with me shipping with another version of your muse, I’ll most likely assume you’re fine with it. In this regard, we probably need to be close friends as I really don’t like the concept of exclusivity.

Doubles are allowed, but I’m unlikely to interact with you with my matching muse. Unless you initiate the interaction, or we’ve agreed to do twins.

Blog:

Do not reblog from me if we are not mutuals. Point blank. Memes, art or threads: don't. Mutuals may, but don't use me as a meme resource.

If there’s something you think I should add a trigger warning to, please tell me. If it’s not one of the default ones, I won’t know unless you tell me or perhaps I just forgot in an instance or two. Please don’t be scared of coming into my ask box about this - I’d rather spend 5 seconds to tag something than set off a person.

I know some people will disagree with me here, but ships are something I won’t tag. There’s a difference between disliking a ship and being actually triggered. If there is a relationship I portray that has triggering content, said content will be what is tagged.

Don’t ever vague about something I’m doing. Vague about a ship I’ve left untagged, and I’ll go reblog some art of it. Vague about a slightly inappropriate joke I’ve made, and I’ll keep making it. That may seem petty, but I don’t appreciate somebody complaining about me publically before even attempting to approach me about it: dm me and we can have a healthy conversation. Even if I refuse to tag something, I’ll explain why and you’re welcome to continue the discussion with no hard feelings. Actually, I’ll be more likely to do as you ask this way. Sorry if this seems odd, but there have been multiple accounts of people vagueing my content.

Muses may be dropped or added at any time. I’ll most likely make a post about it, however.

Whilst you can ask whether or not I’ve dropped a thread, please don’t pressure me for replies. The muses I have on individual blogs take priority over this, as most of the characters here are experimental.

With that in mind, if I find I have a lot of muse for a specific character/they gain more interest than the others, I may move them to their own blog.

Please do not ask the question “would you like to rp"or just a random “How are you”, unless for the latter it’s because you’re actually concerned about me. I find the questions awkward as opposed to conversational starters. Instead, if you want to interact just do it. Or say “I’ve been wanting to send an ask but I can’t think of an idea” in which case I might help, or if you want to plot, tell me that. Of course I want to rp, that’s the point of the blog, and you don’t need to ease into a conversation before telling me what you want to say.

In what was once North America, the Capitol of Panem maintains its hold on its 12 districts by forcing them each to select a child aged between 12 & 18, called Tributes, to compete in a nationally televised event called the Hunger Games. Every citizen must watch as the youths fight to the death until only one remains.

HOW IT WORKS:

this is a temporary verse! i.e., it will not last forever. one week will be dedicated to the reapings, training & interviews, and four weeks for the actual games, with three characters dying each week. i know that four weeks is a long time for the hunger games to run, but i would like to give everyone a chance to play before their muse is killed off. the muses who are killed off will always be chosen by a random generator, so there’s no need to worry about bias.

your muse will be from one of TWELVE districts. for the sake of simplicity, there will be ONE tribute from each district, rather than two. if you’d only like to participate for a week, there will also be one spot open for an INTERVIEWER !!! so, you’ll be able to write threads in which you interview the tributes & participate in the verse during the first week without having to worry about the five week commitment.

feeling left out is ( obviously ) no fun, so i’ve decided to permit duplicates of muses!!! the second of that character to apply, however, must choose a different name for their muse--- just for this verse, and it only has to be the slightest of changes--- in order to avoid confusion.

RULES

i know this gets tricky with fight scenes in particular, but please try to avoid godmodding !!! if you’re unsure, you can always message your partner to check that what you’re writing is okay.

you don’t have to follow everyone who joins, but please try not to leave anyone out! there’ll be a channel in the discord server dedicated to thread seeking, so if you see that someone’s looking for a thread, please try & write with them.

don’t make your character invincible. this is the hunger games, they’re bound to get hurt somehow!

PLEASE don’t get angry if/when i come to you & say that your muse needs to die. it’ll happen eventually ( unless you win, of course ), and it wasn’t my decision, i used a random generator. you don’t have to end any unfinished threads after your muse dies, keep those going as long as you want to!! all you’re obligated to do is to write a death drabble/thread/starter for your muse.
