it helps that andor is clearly writing towards a specific goal. having a distinct end really helps any creator know what they need to get accomplished and/by when.
the lack of a strict moral purity from cassian himself contributes to this. ends justify the means. he makes snap decisions, he panics or swallows his panic, he's in a whole lotta debt and he's a known flirt. since andor isn't trying to appeal to or be ideal for children the writers can add the depth they need to make him feel like an actual person with desires and fears. lots of disney and other star wars protags have a very firm moral compass that they struggle with in only a really shallow sense, if that makes sense. like yeah they sit there and weigh the options of helping or not helping but you know that in exactly 37 seconds theyre going to turn around and help (if they didn't jump in right from the start, that is).
and everything im saying ive already said before, but i also feel as though there's something that andor has that lots of other star wars media lacks. because imho opinion this is the best of star wars by far. but i can't quite name that "it" factor, as cliche as it is. the jenny saint quan. the panache ganache. the glam-wow thing that makes me excited for andor the way I haven't really been excited for any other part of star wars.
it definitely helps that it's a series that so far hasn't found a massive way to let me down. i have my gripes like any normal audience member, but this is the first recent star wars media ive seen that doesn't have an egregious and jarring flaw that totally detracts from what ever positives (if there are any) exist in the show.
(i could get into the whole Disney-morality-marketability scale i have in my head that affects everything D-wars has released so far, running the gamut from writing to plot to even setting and saturation. and fucking environmental cleanliness. but this is long enough)

Hello beautiful human
I just had a delicious thought for a fic (if you have time/are interesed ❤️). What if Yuanzhi was hurt during the final battle instead of Gege. And Ge has something close to a breakdown because it brings back memories of his brother being killed all those years ago. Some comfort after would be wonderfullllll
Yuanzhi sighs and Shangjue is immediately on alert. He’s a little wan, listing a little to the side while they and many of the family are being treated in the Elder Hall. Carefully, Shangjue presses the palm of his hand to Yuanzhi’s.
“I’m fine, Ge. Don’t worry.”
Don’t worry?
If he had any space in his mind left for anything but worry, he’d be a rich man indeed. Because when he blinks, all he can see is Yuanzhi slumped over on the floor, breathing shallow, and bleeding.
Logically, Shangjue knows the wounds will bruise and scab over with time and rest. There will be little that he won’t do in his power to make sure that there won’t be even a trace of a scar on Yuanzhi’s skin, but there is nothing he can do about the deep, gnawing void in the pit of his own stomach.
He has failed him. He has failed his Didi. Again.
Shangjue should have been stronger. Quicker. Better. It didn’t matter that the one they fought was one of the Four Kings of Wufeng.
He should’ve…
Well.
They’d killed him in the end. Vanquished this demon that has plagued Shangjue’s nightmares ever since the day he came home to see his mother and little brother dead. He’s sure they will rest much more peacefully now that they have been avenged.
Shangjue’s just not sure the cost he almost paid was worth it.
A thumb rubs over the back of his hand. Shangjue pulls himself out of his head in time to catch the way Yuanzhi has their shoulders against each other.
The hand in his squeezes. One, two. A little signal. Their little unspoken code.
The tight knot in his chest loosens at that. Just a tiny bit. Yuanzhi seems to know that it worked because he gently, and inelegantly, bumps their shoulders.
It is a small comfort. It is all they can show amidst the chaos.
There’s still so much left to do. Everything is falling apart around their ears, but it’s not the end of the world just yet and they’ll be fine.

Where they got the inspo.
Larrie Inktober day 10: sushi. Not exactly finished but I'm not focusing anymore. Heard we're drawing creepy eyes for sushi so may I add our weird scary eye bros watching (or rather Harry is) Monsters, Inc.'s scene of the sushi restaurant, which serves eyeballsushi, and is basically called Harry's House, because yes. Or: what happens when you let this post inspire you.

and here i was looking forward to read the 4x9 script just to get my hands on all the ronance (and separately robin and nancy's) scenes descriptions, but now idk what will even happen with the next script 😔
this whole situation is so weird.. why didn't the writers contact nick first, why are they posting vague tweets about some leaked scripts? if you donated to 8flix it wasnt exactly for the script but for the site to run so nick could share even other show's scripts without ads etc, like, we need more explanations from both sides at this moment.
And this fiasco isn't any indication that byler wouldn't be happening - rewatch the show, it's there on screen, the scripts were just bonuses, and we knew there wouldn't be exactly some incredible realizations in them, it's all in the acting and on screen either way.
