Holy au.

Pretty much just what of Luffy was raised by Imu. Imu finds out that Dragon has a kid and decides to be petty and raise the kid to kill Dragon.

Luffy caires out a buster call on Dawn Island at the ripe old age of 10 as a test of sorts and the revolutionary army finds out about his existence as a result.

Dragon doesn't know that the kid is his kid and he's too busy taking care of Sabo and Ace to find out.

The twins find out eventually and make it their life mission to kill Luffy who at that point was codenamed 'phoenix' cause they're apparently the natural enemy of Japanese dragons.

When Ace and Sabo join the whitebeards for a very brief time, Ace thinks that Marco is the Phoenix until Sabo points out the age gap.

Luffy's big life goal is destroying the revolutionary period, but for right now, Imu is training his to kill Dragon specifically.

Dragon finds out the phoenix is his son after he steals government documents and starts focusing on tracking him down.

Long story short, Dragon finds him, they fight, Dragon can't bring himself to kill Luffy so Luffy either kills him and just leaves, I haven't decided yet.

Imu and his devil fruit

There's been a lot of speculation on what Imu's devil fruit is and I had a sudden thought while trying to wrap my head around the powers the Five Elders have (spoilers for Egghead but especially content not yet adapted by the anime and ch 1125)

I want to start this by saying that Imu could have multiple devil fruit powers. We know it's possible through the yami yami no mi and Imu could've acquired more powers through someone with that fruit at some point.

My theory is that Imu has the toshi toshi no mi. Since it was revealed that Bonney never actually ate this particular fruit, I've found it odd that it's the only instance of a copy of devil fruit powers that we haven't seen the original user (not including smiles). Momo's fruit was based off of Kaido's, the seraphims use extracts of the former Warlords', but we have no idea where Saturn got the extract of the toshi toshi no mi to experiment on Bonney when she was an infant. Presumably he had the fruit itself, but it's possible that someone had already eaten it at that point. And if that person is Imu, Saturn has easy access to the original fruit.

This idea mostly formed from this paragraph in Saturn's wikia page:

It mentions how Bonney couldn't manipulate Saturn's age and then the next sentence talks about how Imu "visibly aged him up." When reading the chapter, I assumed it was Imu taking away the gift of immortality, thus Saturn's body reverting to its true age, but the wikia's wording made me pause. Also, where else have we seen an instance of someone aging another into a skeleton? When Bonney uses her NDE attack ("near death experience", from ch 1094)

Here, it's only temporary, but a person could potentially age someone up so much that they're just.... permanently left as a skeleton.

Bonney hasn't awakened her devil fruit powers, but what if they entail immortality? As in, being able to manipulate your own and other's ages to just not age at all? There are plausible theories on the ope ope no mi being the source of Imu's and the Five Elder's immortality, but it doesn't explain how Imu is specifically able to rescind Saturn's immortality or gift it to the Elders as is hinted. Bonney has also shown that she can change her form and others through Distorted Future to the point she can mimic other paramecia abilities. If this can apply to zoan abilities too, then it could explain the mythical zoan-like powers that Imu and the Elders have! And maybe the regeneration too, considering the technique is only limited to the user's imagination.

But all of this begs the question of why Saturn would want to experiment with this fruit if he fully knew the potential it gave its user. If it was just about being able to give another person devil fruit powers through an extract, why use this particular one? Why not see Bonney as more of a threat (besides assuming she wouldn't be able to unlock its potential)? More things to ruminate about as we get through the final saga I suppose.

It felt good to get back into the fray. Being motivated to stay on top of things again, and not mindlessly watching the days idly flash by.

After all, he's about a side quest away from getting cured. Of being ridden of this godforsaken disease that's caused him nothing but headaches, irritating rashes, or at the worst, losing consciousness out of exhaustion.

Course, maybe he could’ve been cured sooner if he didn’t abandon the whole mission to hide away on the island… but that wasn’t his fault. He was abandoned first.

And he didn’t abandoned the mission he… just took a break.

A very long break, though his time on the Floating Island were relatively peacefully, when all he had to worry about was his garden of lantern fruit, or back up batteries for his flashlight.

But now, no longer feeling so scared or alone… it was easier to jump into the waters of this hostile uncharted world again.

He had Neebs by his side again. Same ol’ annoying and, slightly snobby Neebs who, can’t shut up about his over-glorified parking spot from his recent promotion but, he’ll take that talkative hick over Simon and his unreliable ass in a heartbeat.

And with his help, he’ll finally get a step closer to getting the hell off of this miserable planet, if it’s the last thing he’ll do.

“Alright, that should cover all my bases for tomorrow,” Appsro mutters, nodding in satisfaction at his progress.

“Now what else do I need ta collect for that hatchin enz—”

“Seems like so much work just to get yourself back home?” The Voice interrupts his train of thought, taunting him with his own voice in it’s usual saturated distortion.

Appsro’s eyes narrow at the unfavorable return of The Voice, rolling his eyes at its presence. He would’ve thought by now the personification of his loneliness and insanity would’ve died when he left that island. Yet, it still haunts him.

Annoyingly so.

“Yeah well, I’m almost done. Gonna get all the ingredients for Big Momma’s egg hatchin soil, then I’ll be cured and can shut off that alien quarantine gun.” He huffs, a slight mix of irritation yet confidence in his tone.

He then turns away from his diving suit’s backpack inventory, stretching a little.

“Still gonna be a few years of waitin around for that damn rescue ship ta come, but I’m just stayin positive here. Better than goin back to that island and havin ta hear you bitchin constantly,” He snorts, definitely intending that last statement to insult The Voice.

Even if… insulting The Voice would just be insulting himself.

But his comment didn’t ruffle it, as The Voice simply replies. “You really think the company has kept their word and will attempt to retrieve you?”

Appsro grimaces at the thought, not before scoffing at it. “I’d fuckin hope they do… and they better. Cause I swear if those bastards don’t, I’m gonna have a few choice words for Alterra when I do eventually get home,” He bares his teeth slightly.

A yawn then escapes his lips, signaling to him it’s about time to rest up. He trails over to his base’s circuit breaker box, opening it up to switch his base’s interior lights to a dimmer setting.

“Mm… you know, there is… another way, to get off this planet?”

Appsro stops mid-task, his hand wavering over the switch. His brows furrowed for a moment, before glancing away from the electrical panel.

“… Whadda mean?”

“The race who came before you, the ones who’ve built the facilities and bases… their portal gates lay around these lands, yes?”

“Uh… yeah?” He raises a brow, answering in a slight snide tone, yet was growing increasingly intrigued.

“There is a grander portal gate… a phasegate they once called it. It connects to portals beyond this planet, to other worlds

They’ve certainly been to your world once… and it is certain a phasegate resides there, somewhere hidden…”

The blue-haired survivor blinks, his eyes slowly widening at what is being implied. “A portal to… my world— Earth? Wait— you’re sayin there’s a giant portal somewhere here that can just take me straight home??” He was almost in awe.

It gently chuckled at his excitement, pleased by his reaction. “But of course… however, it also hides somewhere here. It is much further away. Far away.”

The Voice reluctantly adds. “And the facility baring the weapon needs to be shutdown. It cannot be properly activated if not…”

However, Appsro was just grinning, rubbing his hands together while a plan forms in his mind. If turning off the quarantine platform and sailing around to find a giant portal was all it took, he’d say his luck had finally turned around. Big time.

“Well, if I had some coordinates now, that’d be fuckin perfect.” He chuckles, slightly giddy at this revelation.

“Fuck the rescue ship. I’ll just use that as my ticket outta—“

It dawns on him.

“… How… how do you know this?” He asks in a blunt manner, his brows furrowing in thought as his body tensing up, feeling uneasy.

“Is it so important of how we know?”

“Considerin you’re just a figment of my fucked up imagination, yeah! Yeah I’d like to know how the voice in my head knows shit that I didn’t know anythin about!” Appsro sternly barks, not at all liking the ambiguity of this confrontation.

The Voice didn’t answer back immediately, almost to purposely keep his nerves on the edge.

“Perhaps… we are more than just the voices in your head?” It gradually spoke, it’s voice sounding less and less like his own.

“… What? What are you—“ He mutters in confusion, taking a step back from where he stood.

“What? Oh come now, think about it? You really thought you just, out of the blue, started going insane right after being told you might be?”

He hears The Voice darkly chuckle. “We’ve thought you’d catch on months ago… but no… you just seem to be the oblivious type.”

Appsro clenches his fist, baring his teeth as he points at… well, nothing in particular— but, he’s pretending this mysterious entity is where he’s pointing.

“You better start tellin me what the hell is goin on. If you’re not a voice in my head, then what are you?!” He growls, looking around the room as if it’ll appear before him in the flesh.

“Oh please, there is no need to panic? We are your friends~” The Voice teases him in a sickeningly sweet tone.

"We thought you'd be happy to realize you weren't going crazy after all~"

“F-Fuck off,” He quickly retorts, trying his best to be unwavering despite how freaked out he is.

“Whatever the hell you are, get the hell outta my—“

He’s interrupted by an object swiftly covering his mouth. He jolts, not having enough time to properly process what’s going on as he glances down… only to see a hand being the culprit to shutting him up.

More specifically, his own hand.

A muffled gasp escapes him, in confused panic, he first tries to swing his hand off of his mouth. Only to realize it wasn’t responding, not budging.

He grips his wrist to yank off, and when that doesn’t work, tugs the arm attached to the disobeying hand.

But no matter how much he tried, it wouldn’t move. As if in this moment, it wasn’t him who was in control of his own arm.

“You talk too much, you know that?” The Voice whispers, but not in his head… no, it whispered in his ear. He heard it in his ear.

Appsro immediately jerks his head over to where he heard it… only to see that no one was there to begin with. His breathing heavies.

“Ohhh, you poor, pathetic creature. So scared when he’s no longer in control~” The Voice cackles, amused by the human’s torment.

Muffled spews of words came out of his concealed mouth. He keeps tugging and yanking at his wrist and arm, desperately anything to free himself from his frozen hand, but to no avail.

Something began to creep up behind him, an unidentifiable object causally placed on his shoulder. His body jolts again, yet in this state, he felt unnaturally planted, unable to move even if he wanted to.

Despite feeling the weight of something gripping onto his shoulders, in the corner of his eyes, he still saw nothing.

“Now.” He felt another object touch him, this time, cupping his cheeks.

“Let’s try this again.”

Trying to assign visions for One Piece characters is funny because:

A) Visions are Celestia's way of keeping track of potential threaths, so, unless you change a few things and have them act as Devil Fruits (they have a mind of their own and immediately forsake the Celestial Dragons as soon as they find an allogene), no one in One Piece is going to want a vision (counterpoint would be that only the gods like Nika bestow actual visions, while Celestial Dragons and Imu give delusions);

B) Everyone gets a Pyro vision (passion and drive to realize a dream);

C) Everyone gets an Anemo vision (freedom and dead friends);

D) Everyone gets an Cryo vision (trauma).

Luffy is an anemo user, he reawoke Roger's dead vision at the same time he ate the Gomu Gomu No Mi.

Robin gets a vision in Enie's Lobby. When she says she wants to live. It's a dendro one.

I'm basically going to write what I understood from the last panel.

"The First World", ended 900 years ago - beginning of the Great War and to what we call "the Void Century", and "The Second World" - 800 years ago - the end of the Void Century and the beginning of the World Government rule.

The first world was a technologically advanced world, symbolized by the factory. Humanity used the "Mother Flame" - the "forbidden sun" (represented by the balls of energy carried by the slaves) in their industry. The slaves wished upon their liberation, and from what Vegapunk told us, akuma no mi are the materialization of the wishes of humanity. So the Hito Hito no mi: model Nika came to be. A man-made God was born. The "god of earth" Pluton, a ship that moved using the energy of the Mother Flame caused the big earthquake that sank the world 200 meters (chapter 1115), and only the islands we know today remained. To survive the flood, people and animals got on the Noah ark, just like it happened on the Bible passage that inspired the manga.

I'm also curious about "Vearth", the god of earth in Skypiea.

The serpent of hell can be a reference to Jormungandr or the Leviathan. Maybe in the context of One Piece it is Nerona Imu themselves. Maybe it is a former user of the Yami Yami no Mi that brought darkness and death... Maybe it is just the serpent of Skypiea.

"The god of the forest sent forth demons" - the Devil Fruit tree created an army of Devil Fruit users. "The sun merely spread the embers of war" - Nika/Joyboy/The Sun God lead that army into war, his companions of the Ancient Kingdom: Nefertari Lili, Emet, Zunisha.

"The people of the half-moon" - Kozuki and Minks? - and "the people of the moon" - Shandorans, Birkans, Skypieans? - dreamed of a new Dawn. But humanity, the alliance of the 20 kingdoms, killed the sun, Joyboy, and began their reign of terror.

The God of sea became enraged - the Mermaid Princess Poseidon, Joyboy's dear friend, brought destruction after his passing.

"They could never meet again" - Poseidon was exiled in Fishman Island and Pluton buried under Wano. What about Uranus? I don't know, maybe the Mother Flame itself is Uranus and Pluton is "just" the warship.

About the People of the Moon:

Enel's cover page story is now more important than ever. His ark Maxim is depicted on chapter 1138, since it was probably used by the first moon people to come to the blue sea. It has also been a famous theory that the first Joyboy might have been one of them.

Who is that big Dragon in the middle of the page? I'm not sure. Is that the Forest God? I was reminded of the current Gorosei, and it vaguely looks like Markus Mars, just like the serpent resembles Ju Peter.

"The Third World" is about to end right now. It is a post-apocaliptic world where most people aren't aware of the events of the Void Century. We can see a bunch of characters that are well know to us readers and are destined to bring the End of Times and the Dawn of the New World (which we now now it's is going to be the Fourth): Luffy as Nika, Shirahoshi as Poseidon, Loki representing the Giants apparently, Emet the robot who was a companion of Joyboy, a Tontatta, a Mink, and a series of ships with what we assume have the Ancient Kingdom flag:

I would like to bring attention to a character that was highlighted in a previous moment of the chapter. It looks like a Mink, but I think he is a Zoan User - Yamato in his Okuchi no Makami form, the Guardian Deity of Wano.

Finally the big Demon holding the Sun is Imu, next to a ship with their Holy Knights / the Navy. The world will end with the ultimate battle against the Darkness that wants to extinguish the light of the Sun. And the Sun will emerge victorious and bring a new Dawn.

The drums of liberation will play to the rythim of Nika's heart. The will of D. will be fulfilled at last.

As the late Tom would say:

Note: Eiichiro Oda studied about the biggest pirates and navigators in the world, which includes the Portuguese, like Fernão de Magalhães (Magellan) or Bartolomeu Dias (Bartolomeo, Bartholomew Kuma). In Portugal, when we refer to a lord or a lady, we put a D. next to their name, short for "Dom" - Sir/Lord or "Dona" - Dame/Lady. For example, Portugal's first king is called D. Afonso Henriques.

I think Oda did a play on words with Don and Dawn, meaning both the sound of a drum and the Dawn of the New World. So the D. clan are the real "lords" of the world.

saiki: probably doesnt use labels but if he ever did, biromantic and a-spec. which i honestly think is as "canon" as it could possibly be without directly saying it. hes implied to be feeling SOMETHING towards teruhashi close to the end and is at the very least attracted to her, and he definitely has a crush on satou and outright puts them in a who-likes-who chart. he had no reason to include himself in the love triangle chart if he wasnt involved in it 😭 i dont at all think asou was trying to write a bi-ace character and im aware him liking satou is a gag, but gags are generally canon in saiki k or at least have some lore behind them. i might even say that hes some form of demiromantic ? definitely lines up with his feelings for teruhashi, and i know he doesnt know satou well but hes literally a psychic so "knowing" a person is a lot different for him so i doubt you could describe his sexuality so simply. and these two are the only people he ever shows any romantic interest in AT ALL.

teruhashi: bisexual, also probably as canon as it could be without being canon 😭 she definitely does love saiki towards the end, shown pretty obviously by her expressing she would rather be with him even when hes just sitting there (canonically what he always does) than be with someone rich or talkative. she was also so clearly attracted to aiura, argue with the wall. saiki is her first and only actual crush and before that she literally pictured herself just marrying some rich guy she didnt care about, so i would argue she was probably dealing with some form of comphet although its still mostly because she couldnt picture herself truly opening up to anyone yet

akechi: queer, and i picture him going into long rants about why specific labels dont fit him but he probably knows a lot about them. we get no evidence of his sexuality other than his attraction to teruhashi (which we do know for a fact depends on sexuality because anyone who is canonically or presumably not attracted to girls does not show attraction to her even if they do have a short reaction)

aiura: bi, no gender preference. she was definitely also attracted to teruhashi and does not once point out anything about her gender so im just assuming she doesnt care. also barely reacts when mera implies shes going to have sex with her and just says "looking forward to it"???

kaido: straight but i could see him being flexible, maybe bi with a heavy preference for girls. in canon he obviously sees girls as potential partners and does not see guys as such (see: second half of chapter 232)

yumehara: straight but i can see her being bi with a heavy preference for boys. only attracted to guys in canon but theyre very immature crushes which always start surface level, evidenced by her surface level attraction to takeru dissipating when she got to know him. her crush for kaido is genuine though, it starts out surface level but she clearly sees and likes him for the weirdo he is considering she even adapts some of his chuuni-isms 😭

hairo: probably acearospec and maybe pan ? in canon, hes never felt attraction before or at least isnt aware if he has, but i would argue that what he feels for nendo is the closest thing hes ever had to a crush

kuboyasu: bisexual. we only see him being attracted to teruhashi however his reaction to that makes me think that doesnt happen much?? i know it was because hes used to being good at controlling himself but hes the only character other than imu that is confused by his attraction to teruhashi

toritsuka: straight but would kiss a guy if hes feminine enough, in a not gay but desperate way.

nendo: no label, probably doesnt care very much about gender however he is an enjoyer of tits so...

Could someone pls write a fic where Saiki and Rifuta are close? Like specifically she’s smart enough to notice Saiki is a tsundere freak who somehow magically resolved peoples problems without them noticing, but instead of confronting him about she just straight first to him everyone now and then like “wow it’s so annoying X guy keeps stalking me, really wish he’d stop” and leaves and mysteriously the guy has a change of heart and trembles whenever he sees her.

Like she knows this man has some sort of power, she realises he’s not into her or Teruhashi, why not use him?

And they end up becoming closer, sort of in a sibling kinda way, where she annoys him and he complains about her but they like each other. And Saiki has someone who knows something is up but isn’t even asking shit and he feels comfortable being a bit weird around her like he is with Aiura.

Dunno if you're still active, but holy shit. I just remembered your theories about Elbaph being a place to "reencounter loved ones" when a saw a theory that Gunko could be Yorki's daughter now that was revealed that Brook appears to recognize her from somewhere.

Hey :) I'm a bit on a break indeed from tumblr. I hope I will be coming back to it soon though. I really needed to refresh my mind and also do something not One Piece related for a change (I have been going for it for a full year already and I guess even hyperfocus has it's limits, haha).

Maybe it's because I just can't relate to the Scopper Gaban hype that the fandom is living on right now. He's alright, just like Rayleigh is alright as well, but they really don't get me excited. That being said he had a very touching moment in the last chapter and it really hit me right in the feels.

Also, I think I really need to watch and read other people's theories less. Not only it's becoming impossible to keep track of, it's also annoying me, I noticed. People will go and paint the most farfatched interpretations (like based on the cave painting in Elbaf, which, tbf, seems *designed* for that purpose lol), but I can't follow the logic behind it at all. I also run upon my first time impressions regarding Shanks lineage that I shared with my friend after watching One Piece Red and I had some pretty good insights there! Just look at it (it's mostly about Garling there):

And I realized, that was an actually valid question that was answered in the Loki and Shamrock's conversation. Garling did care about his son/heir, which is why he didn't kill Shanks when he returned to Mary Geoise. Sometimes first impressions can be really fresh and spot on.

Taking it all into consideration, those are my three reasons why I decided I need to withdraw a bit from the fandom and figure out where to draw the line. I still want to enjoy One Piece at my own pace (it became my treasure, so I'm not parting with it any time soon... or at all) and I want to keep a fresh mind too, and keeping up with fandom took most of my energy tbh. I might not be posting as often as I used to, but I do look forward to writing a retrospective post on all the Elbaf chapters I didn't do in chapter commentaries. Tbh I'm so used to interacting with One Piece story in bulks of chapters and volumes more than chapter per chapter, the latter is pretty fun too (and doing analysis on Loki's possible backstory was an absolute blast), but I find so many details when I actually read in bulks instead, haha.

But back to the ask itself! The theme I was refering to, was what Shanks said here, in chapter 1076, when leaving Elbaf himself:

It was apparently important enough that the whole chapter is called after what he says here, using the same term for "old friends" (kyūyū). Which is why I believed it's likely the whole Elbaf arc will be set up with this theme in mind: "seeing the old friends (that maybe we thought were dead)". So far it's true for Shanks, Robin and Saul, and perhaps indeed Gunko. Gunko is becoming such a mysterious character, isn't she? Last chapter left me really perplexed in the same way the Emet chapters left me once. I know how people quickly jumped to simplest conclusions here (that Gunko and Brook share a past) but the dialogue that is accompanying it doesn't exactly *fit* that: "what is this memory??" (meaning Gunko sees is for the first time) and "they really do look alike" (Brook commenting from afar) doesn't exactly suggest it's about Brook and Gunko in particular, but who knows, who knows. I like the mess it caused inside my brain, that's for sure.

Part of me wants to believe it was actually Imu's own memory, because I'm starving for any hint of backstory there, but also because it would make more sense to me that Gunko saw a glimpse of a memory that isn't hers and that's why she can't recognize it (I just don't like the memory loss trope in OP, but I know it's a much simpler and easier answer here ofc). Also, Oda likes to do this thing, when he sets up a mystery in the end of the previous arc that gets answered/elaborated on in the next one. He did it, for example, with Sanji in Zou (Whole Cake Island becoming his arc), he also did it with Momo's dragon fruit in Wano when it suddenly works and suddenly doesn't (and in Egghead we focus on devil fruits), and Egghead's arc ended up with Joyboy's flashback and Imu's dread when feeling Joyboy's haki, it would be quite an amazing follow up to that. Perhaps. But I do know it's a big expectation that is very unlikely to happen now xD

I do like the idea of Gunko being Yorki's daughter though, it would make this not only fit the theme perfectly, but also expand on Brook, and damn, I'm waiting for that Yorki red thread to get activated for the whole arc already. Sadly, I can't confirm that there have been any hints scattered around, besides Gunko being a fan of Brook's music... not that they have to be neccessarily!

I was actually thinking, since Oda loves the number 3 in storytelling themes a lot (which I started to call his rule of three, haha), that maybe every single One Piece arc follows three major themes. In case of Elbaf it would be "seeing old friends (we thought are dead)", as spelled by Shanks for us, and potentially two more. Since we're far into the arc, I would consider things like "self sacrifice" (as inspired by Ronja) which could potentially answer what happened in Elbaf's past as well, and perhaps "the assumed bad guys end up being heroes". We start the arc with Rodo who roleplays a villain but later on turns out to be our biggest ally in the arc. We have Loki and by now very few people believe he's the bad guy he's painted to be, even if every Giant in Elbaf believes in that. It's a bit hard to work on those when the arc isn't finished yet, but this is my shot for now ;) it would be fun to actually try to identify major three themes in all of previous OP arcs, could help reveal the story from different angles potentially (or, in the worst case scenario, just to sort out themes, to have a better grasp on the story, which by now is reeeeally long and it's easy to lose the red threads in it, haha).

Saiki K Week Day 1: Swap AU

I've seen the popular Saiki-Teruhashi swap AU but I've never seen anyone swap all the characters for this AU.

Basically, all of the female characters switch places with a male character.

Teruhashi and Saiki swap powers.

Chiyo and Kaidou swap places as chuunibyous.

Mera becomes the Nendo of the group.

Aiura takes Toritsuka's place as Teruhashi's apprentice.

Hii is the moral support of the friend group in place of Hairo.

Makino somehow became a gang leader like Kuboyasu.

And Imu is Teruhashi's childhood friend instead of Akechi.

I dont write a lot of fics but this idea has been in my head for a while. I might make it a full-fledged story.
