Something to remember with all the stuff I'm seeing about nintendo and switch 2 pricing is that: video games have been selling far below their real price for years.

This is quite literally lowballing artists with corporate greed in the mix as well. Demand for games has been getting more intense, expectations higher, and this comes from both gamers and (more importantly) executives. The cost of this has largely been borne by the developers in terms of crunch, bad compensation, and having good ideas killed or mutilated for "monetization".

Yes nintendo sucks and corporatization of games sucks but also yall need to get more comfortable paying higher prices for art.

#same applies to music tbh #but like... it's the same problem of corporatization #I'm absolutely not paying huge costs when it all goes to some music producer or activision exec #but i will 100% drop a ton of money on artist merch at a concert...shirts LPs CDs stickers...#buy more indie games and it can be similar (depending on how you do it...)#steam at least used to be better than most #it leaned symbiotic as opposed to parasitic #i want to go back to making games but I'm so out of that space in many ways and i need to not be burnt out
