edit: i gotta clarify that the shows do indeed still have to have actual queer characters in them to count

#our flag means death #and yeah i'll say #the owl house #not just in the fact they are stuffed to the brim with queer characters #or their stories of self-transformation into who you truly are #or even that they're about outsiders finding community amongst each other #though those things certainly factor #it's that the queerness cannot be disentangled from the story without costing complexity #luz has to be neurodivergent and queer. if she wasn't the story would be about someone else #am i making sense? is this microphone on?#a couple others of note are #killing eve #renegade nell #and star trek #which cannot be made straight despite best efforts #conversely heartstopper and first kill are not queer. but that's another essay.

hey there!! i'd been checking this blog for a while, and I really wanted to say you're a great source of inspiration haha! I really love your dog characters and your lore! The amount of research and dedication is really amazing!! about ludovica's gf, do you mind if I come in with my vision as well? I think she'd be a really fluffy dog, maybe with curly hair. so my mind went to the portuguese water dog; but then i thought of two versions: long hair and short hair. so i drew both (tried my best to make her look like a lady and not a grandpa haha)

#I'm so sorry this ask is almost a year old at this point and I'm only now responding to it auh #but I keep thinking about this version of the mystery girlfriend habitually I think this is the first headcanon design anyone came up with #I absolutely adore that she's a fluffy curly dog it's such a bold and distinct choice #I don't have any ocs with this specific fur type so it would be a new and interesting challenge trying to get used to drawing her #and I totally get the struggle about the unintentional grandpa look heh it's the same thing with wirehaired dogs #the portuguese water dog is a fitting breed to pick considering the setting imo #I previously tried to make a lagotto romagnolo version of her but the curly face fur was really muddling her expressions #the white eyebrows are a clever move they're pretty and make her face so much more readable than a solid black would #the white streaks on her ears are a wonderful detail too they kind of remind me of frankenstein's bride haha #and I appreciate the fact you drew her in a period accurate dress! the rosy pink goes really nicely with her stark black and white fur #the sketches are so sweet their chemistry comes through so clearly #thank you so much for putting this much thought and effort into her! again I'm sorry I kept you waiting #I truly hope you didn't think I disliked your concept although I wouldn't blame you at all if that's the impression you got #I think I have another ask of yours somewhere in my inbox I'll try to find it #gift art #pouletpourrisoldblog #Ludovica #own characters #I'll come back to give the gf her own tag once I've decided on the name

#ask #non mdzs #My health journey has been: Hernia -> acid reflux -> Vocal pain due to aforementioned reflux -> chest infection.#I'm terrified to know what's about to hit me next. Please let it be something kind. PLEASE.#The consequence of living with linguists is that you'll wake up with a wacked up voice -#suddenly you're sitting you down in front of a program called something like Praat having your shimmer and jitter levels calibrated.#They gave me a GRBAS of 33012. I have a fun thing called a pitch break where a whole octave just does not exist.#My vocal pain was bad enough I ended up seeing a speech pathologist and that whole experience was super neat!#I learnt a lot about voice - to be honest I might make a little comic on it after some more research. Fascinating stuff.#For example; your mental perception of our voice modulates the muscles of the vocal folds and larynx.#meaning that when you do have changes (inflammation = more mass = lower frequency)#your brain automatically attempts to correct it to what it 'should sound like'. Leading to a lot more vocal strain and damage!#And it gets really interesting for trans voice care as well - because the mental perception of one's voice isn't based on an existing sampl #So a good chunk of trans voice training is also done with the idea of finding one's voice and retraining the brain to accept it. Neat!#Parkinsonial Voice also has this perception to musculature link! The perception is that they are talking at a loud/normal volume #but the actual voice is quite breathy and weak. So vocal training works on practicing putting more effort into the voice #and retraining the brain to accept the 'loud' voice as 'normal'.#Isn't the human body fascinating?#Anyhow; Now I have vocal exercises and strategies to reduce strain and promote healing.#Which is a lot better than my previous strategy of yelling AAAH in my car until my 'voice smoothed out'.#You can imagine the horror on the speech path's face. I am an informed creature now.#I'm my own little lab rat now. I love learning and researching. Welcome to my tag lab. yall ever think Shen Yuan went through like, internet withdrawal after being transmigrated into Shen Qingqiu? Like, he's canonically a NEET shut-in who did nothing but spend his time online, you can't tell me that for the first week or first few weeks of being SQQ he wasn't twitchy.

Like, reaching instinctively to his pockets for a phone that wasn't there, having an obsessive itch in the back of his mind that he should check and see if X or Y novel or webcomic has updated -- only to realize he can't anymore and being irritated by it. Wanting to go and see if there's new posts about this or that, but again realizing that he can't.

When he's bored or uncomfortable or just feels like wanting to escape he tries to go for his phone to distract himself, but oops! Not there anymore, and now he has to find a new and different way to distract himself from his feelings. And going through system notifications, quests, etc only does so much.

And there's that Tetris Effect too. SQQ makes a mistake while writing and instinctively goes to backspace on it except hey-ho that's not a keyboard and now he just dipped his pinkie into a bottle of ink or on a still-drying letter.

With him scrambling to fix his reputation and learn how to be a peak lord, I think his abrupt cold-turkey from all things internet would just be another straw on the camel's back that he promptly Ignores until it goes away on its own after he acclimates to his new surroundings.

Like as the peak lord naturally he would be doing this kind #of stuff but hes NOT the peak lord but to keep up appearances he has to know how to do this stuff. and finds it??? actually quite rewarding #even more than getting into an argument online or getting a new merch item. he's making or doing this stuff. he starts drawing and finishes #a piece and regardless of its skill level he feels something unclog in his chest. like sediment being scraped off the bottom of a creek and #being washed downstream. a weight that's been slogging through his veins suddenly untangled. physical proof of his efforts that feels great #starry is incapable of NOT giving her favorite blorbos more hobbies. starry is incapable of not giving her favorites artsy hobbies #this is probably NOT a new or original thought whatsoever but im throwing it out there anyways bc it fascinates me. i love transmigration #and albeit i've only read isekai manhwa/manhua there's a common theme of the people there assimilating into their new lives relatively quic #which i know is for ease of transition and getting to the rest of the story. but WHAT IF.#i have still not read svsss yet and idk when i'll be able to BUT have some thoughts anyways
