1.      Kara mistakes Superman for Ray (Batwoman 1.09 „Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 2“)

 So in „Crisis on Infinite Earths“ Brandon Routh did not only play Ray Palmer, but also returend to his role als Superman from „Superman Returns“. While we have several doppelgangers in the Multiverse and a couple of different looking individuals who are supposed to be same person anyways, we also have actors doing unrelated double-duty. Barry Allen from Earth-90 could just be Henry Allen/Jack Garrick, he is an Allen after all, so why should he not look like one? Alura and Lois Lane from „Smallville“ never meet, nor does anyone, who knows Alura, ever meet this version of Lois. But people, who know Ray, do meet the „Superman Returns“ Version of Superman and even Ray meets Superman. So did we think no one was ever going say anything about Ray looking like a certain Kryptonian?

Well, they do talk about it. Iris‘ mentones it the moment she meets him and later on we get a wonderful moment, when the two Brandon Rouths meet and talk to each other and Kara walks in. Seeing Routh's Clark Kent in his civilian clothes, Kara mistakes him for Ray, complimenting him on his more muscular physique, before her Earth-38 Clark Kent -- portrayed by Tyler Hoechlin -- points out he is her cousin from another Earth. Which does confuse Kara quite a lot. (And makes her regret low-key hitting on „Ray“). This is the best Meta-Gag scene in the whole Arrowverse, and all those Brandon was Superman-References come to full fruition here. Finally.

Favorite Episodes of "BATWOMAN" Season One (2019-2020)

Below is a list of my favorite episodes from Season One of "BATWOMAN", the CW adaptation of the D.C. Comics heroine, Batwoman. Created by Caroline Dries, the series starred Ruby Rose as Kate Kane aka Batwoman:

FAVORITE EPISODES OF "BATWOMAN" SEASON ONE (2019-2020)

1. (1.08) "A Mad Tea Party" - Kate Kane aka Batwoman and criminal Alice aka Beth Kane continue their sister/nemesis dance, while Alice and Jonathan Cartwright aka Mouse construct their most evil plan that involves a special event honoring the Kane siblings' stepmother, Catherine Kane.

2. (1.15) "Off With Her Head" - More of Alice's dark past is uncovered when her former kidnapper and Mouse's father, Dr. August Cartwright, shares a twisted story with Kate. The latter's stepsister Mary Hamilton and Luke Fox follow a lead on the killer of Alice/Beth's post-Crisis doppelgänger.

3. (1.20) "O, Mouse!" - In this season finale, Kate and her father Jacob Kate (leader of the private security firm, the Crows) form a temporary alliance and go after Arkham Asylum escapee Tim "The Titan" Teslow. Alice uncovers what could finally take down Batwoman and has a reckoning with Mouse.

4. (1.06) "I'll Be the Judge, I'll Be the Jury" - A vigilante calling himself the "Executioner" begins targeting Gotham City law enforcement and judicial officials he deems to be corrupt. When Batwoman goes after him, she discovers the truth behind his claims.

5. (1.09) "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Two" - In the second part of the Arrowverse crossover, Batwoman and the other heroes uses Dr. Ray Palmer aka the Atom's invention to track new recruits to help save the universe from the anti-Monitor. This search leads Kate and Kara Danvers aka Supergirl to an alternate Earth version of Bruce Wayne aka Batman.

90. Earth 167 for „Smallville“ (Batwoman 1.09 „Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 2“)

 This one is more complex. „Smallville“ took place on Earth-167.The number 167 is a nod to the show's producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar both being born in 1967.

Additionally in the DC Comics, Earth-167 is a universe where best friends Lex Luthor and Clark Kent are Superman and Batman and therefore still best friends, which is a nod to the original idea behind „Smallville“ (as it was supposed to show us young Clark and Lex as friends).

Below is a list of television episodes from the past two to three decades that I find memorable:

MEMORABLE TELEVISION EPISODES

1.  “BABYLON 5″ (3.10) “Severed Dreams” - When President Clark of Earth Alliance escalates his brutal repression upon Earth’s population, Captain John Sheridan of Babylon 5 declares the space station independent.  Hugo Award winner.

2.  “GAME OF THRONES” (3.09) “The Rains of Castamere” - The new King of the North, Lord Robb Stark, his mother Catelyn and his wife Queen Talisa; arrive at the estate The Twins for the wedding of his uncle Edmure Tully to one of Walder Frey’s daughters.  Brandon Stark’s small traveling group decide to split up after a close call with the Freefolk.  And Daenerys Targaryen plans to invade Yunkai in order to free that city’s slaves.

3.  “LOST” (2.07) “The Other 48 Days” - This episode depicted the first 48 days on the island of the surviving Tail Section passengers of Oceanic 815.

4.  “AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.” (1.17) “Turn, Turn, Turn” - In this companion piece to the 2014 movie, “Captain America:  The Winter Soldier”, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been compromised by an old enemy from the past and Agent Phil Coulson’s team do not know whom to trust.

5.  “THE FLASH” (6.09) “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Three” - The Arrowverse heroes continue their efforts to prevent the Anti-Monitor from destroying the multiverse and creating a new one. 

6.  “GAME OF THRONES” (1.09) “Baelor” -  Robb goes to war against the Lannisters in an effort to save his father, Eddard “Ned” Stark, imprisoned at King’s Landing.  His half-brother Jon Snow finds himself struggling on deciding if his place is by Robb’s side or with the Night's Watch. Khal Drogo falls ill from an infected battle wound and Daenerys is desperate to save him.

7.  “LOST” (6.14) “The Candidate” - With Jack Shephard's help, the Man in Black rescues the castaways/candidates from Charles Widmore's compound.  But their plans for leaving the island are forced to change.

8.  “BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER” (5.22) “The Gift” - Buffy Summers and her friends prepare for battle when the hell god Glory plans to use her sister Dawn to open up a portal to a demonic dimension.

9.  “D.C.’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW” (2.17) “Aruba” - The Legends decide to break a cardinal rule of time traveling in order to prevent the Legion of Doom from using the Spear of Destiny to change the world’s reality for good.

10. “BABYLON 5″ (3.22) “Z'ha'dum” - After his supposedly dead wife Anna Sheridan turns up very much alive on Babylon 5, Captain Sheridan ignores previous warnings and  travels with her to the Shadows' homeworld Z'ha'dum.
