okay watched the timeless children and.

95% of that episode felt like it could have been a script with no material change in quality. like, this did not need to take an hour. i could have just read the summary.

oh, there are bits where it's good: the doctor shoving the master to the ground, the bit at the end with the death particle, whatever, but most of it just felt flat and unnecessary.

i firmly disagree with the criticism that it ruined the doctor's backstory–the doctor's backstory hasn't ever been cohesive or solid or anything, and i could write a whole nother post on the fact that the doctor not being a time lord while simultaneously being the time lord is in fact representative of the doctor's whole story in nuwho because they have always been both the last of the time lords and a terrible representation of the race, which is why they're so attached to the master because the master is in a lot of ways the doctor has never managed a very good time lord, and as the person who killed their whole race the doctor feels a responsibility to being the last time lord and by proxy a responsibility for the master that goes beyond their fun funky and fucked up attachment to each other, but that would take me all day.

i don't hate the story. i do think there is a very good, solid story at the heart of this.

but the execution fucking sucks. the stakes are either too low or incomprehensibly high for no reason, the doctor just lets people die and sacrifice themselves willy nilly, yaz graham and ryan do fuck all the whole time.

the cybermen being the main villains but being focused on extermination 'deletion' instead of conversion ruins their whole point–the master's right. robots are boring. the horror of the cybermen comes in with the fact that they're zombies in metal suits and filled with such self hatred that they need to turn off their emotions or they kill themselves. it doesn't work if you have one cyberman who's just better than that and can be fine with his emotions, and just wants to kill everyone.

that is just a dalek. you've recreated the daleks but worse. fuck off.

and like. with how everyone presents the timeless child i was expecting it to be worse?? like graphic descriptions of torture and murder and shit. but it was just a bunch of shots. and accidentally falling off a cliff.

like don't get me wrong, obviously that's horrible, but it's not. special? there are real, actual societies built on people living in worse conditions. we have medical treatments today based on trials and experiments that had worse affects on people. it feels like they expect it to be big and impactful in a way it just isn't.

i dunno. mostly i just felt bored and confused and i still don't know who brendan is or why we wasted so much screen time on him.

The minis I made a awhile back I thought were cute.

People think my normal 7in (like 17.8cm) dolls are small but I like making minis as they are small and cute and I can fit them into jars. It also funny to think if this is the size they would be if they got hit by the TCE.

Just imagine the TCE just make them small, instead of just killing them and the master and doctor are fighting miniaturized.

A bit of her socks are showing, they are blue with light blue stripes. she have boots that aren’t tied all the why to the top and the tongues are crooked. She have her grey trench coat that have a navy inside lining and the rainbow stripes. It have pointed cuffs that have black edging, and rectangle pockets on the sides with the same edging. It have a hood that is back. The last one is supposed to be Yasmin Khan she have light brown felt for skin, Dark brown hair with French braid. She have brown shoes, and black pants with a brown belt, a red collar shirt and a dark brown jacket. The Doctor and Master ⭐️👾

I didn’t finished any dolls yet for the special, and I didn’t think I had anything to post, but then I remembered I forgot to post this! And I think it’s perfect for the 60th anniversary!

I also love the idea of just the doctor and master making fun of each other and they just mass around in the Tardis’ wardrobe and dress up as each other’s clothes and made fun of each other. It ends up with each realizing they stole each other’s clothes.

The doctor is in a mix master outfit, simm’s black hoddie and black shoes, Jacobi’s dark red vest, Macqeen’s pink and navy tie, Dhawan’s black orange striped pants, Ainsley’s waist cape, Delgado’s black gloves, Missy’s yellow and blue socks and purple coat and black hat that have flowers and berries, Crispy’s robe, Roberts’ sunglasses.
