In order to bring Michael back from the Empty, Adam became a hunter and visited the home of an old woman during a hunt. The old woman lived alone and was a devout believer, and her house was filled with religious objects, large and small. In the midst of their conversation, Adam noticed a half-kneeling statue of an angel standing on the armoire in the living room, his sword in each hand pointing downward.

"That's Archangel Michael," the old woman said. "We used to have one just like it, next to my boy's grave. Now that my old man has passed away, I bought a new one for my house. He is a warrior, a guardian, and a gentle angel. He will bless this home and my husband and son in heaven until I am finally reunited with them."
