"why we build the wall" from hadestown is really gonna trip up future media analysis students. they'll be like "ah a piece of media from the 2010s referencing building a wall to keep out the poor, clearly this is a reference to the president of the united states from 2016-2020", and then their professor will have to be like "actually the concept album for this musical came out in 2010"

it's been eight whole years since the lumineers came out with their song cleopatra and the lyrics "i would marry you in an instant. damn your wife, i'd be your mistress just to have you around." is still THE most heartbreaking, breathtaking, earth-shattering line of poetry to ever be written.

what i love about going from the taylor swift fandom to the mcr, is that there was not that big of a change. we sing little gay songs that arent actually gay but in our mind they are, we have that one colorful and happy album that for some reason everyone hates because they dont know how to have fun (danger days/lover, ill protect those albums with my life, i will fight if needed), we all have depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts of some kind, we cry everytime that that song about cancer plays, we're all some shade of gay and first but not last, we all clown together trying to figure out when will the next album come out, seeing signs in everything they do when most times its just our delusional mind playing tricks to us
anyways, happy birthday to bullets and happy birthday tomorrow to folklore!!! both albums that make me want to take every piece of skin out of my body while sobbing uncontrollably 😊!

Imagine this!
It's around 2001/ 2002. Michael Schumacher driving to Maranello or wherever with smol Gina, mini Mick and Corinna. They are listening to some radio for the news, the situation on the road or some music and suddenly... A song comes up.
A song, called "Deutschland" ("Germany") from a quite popular German band called "Die Prinzen" ("the princes"). It gives a short overview of German culture, described in a rather funny, controversal, sarcastic way. It mentiones popular shows and the love to the cars ("We love our cars more than our women because we can trust German cars.") and the history.
But at the beginning this line comes up:
"Nur eine Kleinigkeit ist hier verkehrt und zwar das Schumacher keinen Mercedes fährt" which can be translated to:
"There's only one minor thing that's wrong here, it's that Schumacher isn't driving a Mercedes."
8 years later he signed with Mercedes.
He really said:
I hope Seb still smiles about this
