Can someone please explain to me how Disney’s Descendants had Hades (before he was revealed to be Mal’s father) going from looking like this in the cartoon shorts:

Extremely accurate to his original design. No fire hair since I guess he’s supposed to look more “normal and human-like” but at least the hair style suits him. Looks like a slicked back, sleazy business man hairdo lol.

To frickin this?:

Looks NOTHING like his original design (not even with the hair) and hardly acts like the original Hades (he acts and dresses like a washed up rock star rather than a sleazy, bitter used car salesman, I could tell they tried to make up for it with him being all sarcastic and sassy, but it didn’t have the same effect the original Hades had).

So bizarre to me lmao. I mean, I know the original Hades is hard to replicate since his facial structure borderlines inhuman, but c’mon. I’ve seen the live actors at Disneyworld and Disneyland and I’ve seen cosplayers that do a better Hades than this. I know this is basically a big ol “modern fairytale au” of the Disney universe so everyone looks fairly human, but I mean, if you can’t look like Hades then at least ACT like Hades, y’know?

But then again, I’m not surprised because a lot of the original villains in the Descendants series were ooc. Like Cruella was no longer this snobbish woman who loves all things fashion. She was basically insane. Talking to a fake dog plushie and acting crazy while also having a huge fear/hatred of dogs. Maleficent was no longer the mistress of all evil, very regal and refined, and scared you out of your wits with one look from her. She was turned into this silly, quirky Broadway singing villainess that was obsessed with power. So…yeah, as I said, doesn’t surprise me that Hades’ personality changed in the movie series. But still as a Hades simp, I would’ve really liked to see Hades portrayed accurately.

Audrey (your bff) would try to sneak insults but you always throw a slipper at her if she attempts to do so

Since Evie’s mother was not all that, you and your fam welcomed her into your home

With the exception of Chad but Cinderelly knocked some sense into him

Ahhh she would definitely make you dance with her all the time

Girl just wants her typical fairy tail romance

And let’s just get one thing clear here

Evie loves to hold you and snuggle you tight until you beg for mercy

Your warmth gives her comfort

Since we all know that physical gestures are Evie’s love language

I feel like Fairy Godmother would be like a protective aunt

Evie believes that it would be the right thing to do

Question for Descendants babies:

Some of the parents of the VKs/AKs have been confirmed and shown. Some haven’t. For those that haven’t been confirmed, what version do you imagine them to be?

For example there’s been hundreds of adaptations of Cinderella. Several of 101 Dalmatians. Aladdin and Maleficent have their live action remakes. Etc.

So my question is:

— Do you imagine your favorite version of the original characters to be the VK/AKs parents?

— Do you simply imagine them as the original Disney animated versions?

— Or do you imagine them as completely new portrayals? (ex: Dizzy is half Korean but I don’t recall there ever being a Korean Cinderella/Lady Tremaine before)

as a noted lover of Kenny Ortega Productions, does he make all of his young romantic leads get that haircut? like all three male leads from the children’s musicals he’s directed have some form of the floppy early 2000s boy band cut. does he find actors that already have that haircut? Does he make them do it? because it’s been 3 different universes over about fifteen years and they all have similar haircuts.

this one i get. it was 2006. i wasn’t in high school at the time, but every white boy I knew had this haircut. it is what it is. Mr Bolton’s hair changes with every movie, so it can reasonably be assumed that this was just the actual actor’s hair. it gets darker when the actor dyes it, and it gets shorter when the actor cuts it. Oh 2006-2008 you were a wild era for fashion and for men’s hairstyles (did he slap a bowl on his head to get this????)

this one is a shorter version of the Troy Bolton Special. this guy is supposed to be in high school in 2015, which I was. and let me tell you: very few white boys had this swoopy bang at that point. the boys were spiking their shit up like getting their hair closer to the heavens would let them commune with gods. the actor having this haircut prior to walking onto set is possible, but wearing it down like this? less likely.

THIS is the most egregious one. this character is a teen boy in 2020. which, as a teen in 2020, the white boys did NOT have this haircut. okay, technically this boy is dead and has been since 1995, so his appearance has not changed since then. I wasn’t alive (and obviously was not a teenager) in 1995, so i cannot confirm that this was a popular haircut in 1995, but my research does not suggest that this was a popular look for boys in that year. (also note how this boy has a more extreme version of the floppy bits at the end of Mr Bolton’s hair from 2006.) this actor MAY have had this haircut at the time of auditions, but it is extremely unlikely.

Kenny Ortega White Boys From Years Past, please come forward and confirm whether or not he made you get those haircuts. (I know he made at one of the Blonde White Boy Deuteragonists get an era appropriate haircut, so it is a possibility)

In the CJ and Ally are twins/Ally of Neverland AU, what would Harry's reaction be to finding out he has a third sister, in Auradon, and not just any random girl in Auradon but Ally of Wonderland?

Harry vaguely remembers another baby sister from his childhood, bright blue eyes like his and a mess of blonde curls like CJ’s. He remembers that she just vanished one day: He just always assumed she died.

He actually asked where did she go, but when Harriet tensely told him that „She’s in a better place now,“ what else should an Isle boy assume?

He figures it out before CJ and Ally, and all of them get it way before the rest of Auradon, as this sort of conclussion could be only made by the half-crazy descendants of Neverland and Wonderland anyway.

It’s a quiet affair, for the Hook siblings at least. He asks Harriet what she thinks of this, and don’t CJ and Ally look awfully similar? Harriet sights and drags him half-way to the beach, which might be the reason why the rest of Auradon Prep doesn’t know the instant she confirms.

Harry then proceeds to have a nice little chat with every single person that was ever mean to his baby sister. It leaves some people severely traumatized.

And to Alice’s displeasure, he insits on teaching slightly confused Ally how to fight.

„Come on, Ally, you need to know how to fight! To defend yourself!“ he says.

Ally eyes him warily and Alice intervenes, appearing practically out of thin air, and stating that no, she doesn’t.

„Every detective worth their salt must know how to fight, should they ever run into a dangerous criminal,“ adds Harry slyly: He used almost the same trick on CJ when she didn’t wanna train.

At this point, Alice knows she lost.

And not soon after, Auradon has to cope with all three official Hook siblings getting very protective over Ally of Wonderland all of the sudden.

It all gets worse when Harry and CJ get her to carry a dagger and convince her that pulling it out on people that surprised her is a good idea.

Oh, and the family bonding trip to Wonderland doesn’t help at all.
