#2019: the 100 s2

Yes, hello, I love your blog, you're my only window into what the fandom is doing and I could always completely skip the manga and just stick to reading here. So, about your poll of popular theories, I saw something about the demon world being underwater, would you mind elaborating, please? It's for research. For a fanfic 👀
[The poll in question]
I'm always going to advocate for reading the manga, not just because of what happened with S2, but also to see all the gorgeous detailing Demizu puts into her work that's lost in the transition to TV animation, along with her playing with perspectives/proportions in relationship to power dynamics.
(Chapter 1 | S1 Episode 1)
But thank you! <3
My understanding was the theory of the demon world being underwater was introduced by @couldnt-think-of-a-better-name, who was mainly active during the series' heyday (February 2019-July 2019, between the releases of chapters 123-142 during the King of Paradise and Seven Walls arcs and when S1 premiered in Japanese and English).
• Main post about the theory • Secondary post about Lambda-7214 being a coordinate • Neat edit of chapter 7's, chapter 16's, and chapter 2's cover art • Volume 13 Special Edition mini-artbook art hinting at the trajectory of the series
I think it's interesting in how the Seven Walls search party traverses what we're presented with as the entire demon world to find clues about Cuvitidala and the Seven Walls, yet the largest body of water we see anyone interact with is a pond. Nothing close to an ocean that would present them with difficulties such as building a boat or buying one from demons.

(Chapter 60 | Volume 8 Title Page | Chapter 99 | Chapter 100 | Chapter 102)
Shirai also confirmed the elevator at Goldy Pond takes one to "a certain forest in Australia" (out of 458 forest communities).
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 3 Q&A)
While the stairs under Grace Field headquarters seem to land one somewhere on the east coast of the former United States of America.

(Chapter 178 | Chapter 179)
There's the imagery of the Statue of Liberty, leading me to believe the North American headquarters for the Ratri clan are located in (former?) New York City, but I don't know if I would necessarily say they wash up on the city's shores since Mike takes a jet out to meet them and the children aren't freezing in the November weather there. There's also the impracticality of after coming back from the demon world to transport goods or just traverse between the worlds you conspicuously land out in the open on the beach, so I believe it was the demon god's meddling that sent them to this beach, and the proper exit in one specific, singular location like the Goldy Pond one is somewhere else in the area. Two specific locations located in opposite hemispheres in our world, yet in the demon world you could potentially travel between the two passageways on foot in approximately a week based on the time it took the kids to reach the shelter at B06-32 (one day of initially wandering through the forest, five days traveling with Sonju and Mujika, and one day walking through the wasteland) and how long it took Yuugo, Emma, and Ray to reach Goldy Pond (four days) if it was a straight shot.

(Chapter 49 | Chapter 60)
It all leaves me very curious about how large the demon world is compared to the human world and how the demon god decided to split the two worlds up.
It's also interesting how despite all the water imagery in the series, we don't see any rain in the manga outside of the chapter 28 cover art (mentioned in the fourth post of that list):

But the anime chose to have a very light rain overlay during the second episode while not animating the ground or characters getting wet:
It rains in the light novels.
(TPN Light Novel 1: A Letter from Norman [June 2018] - "The Day Emma Cried")
(TPN Light Novel 4: Films of Memories [December 2020] - "Operation Stormy Night," originally published in Minerva Confidential Report Report Volume 1 that was packaged with the first volume of the Japanese S1 blu-ray in March 2019)
And we see the children playing in the snow in the past.
(Chapter 10 Bonus Scene)
#my favorite fan theory is Norman is a Ratri‚ though I don't know if they were the originator or main proponent of that one#along with Sienna is Emma's bio mom‚ Matilda is Norman's bio mom‚ and Emma & Carol and Norman & Sherry being bio (half) siblings#but I think this one's fun to play around with too#couldnt-think-of-a-better-name#The Promised Neverland#Yakusoku no Neverland#TPN#TPN Meta#FSS Asks#FSS Chatter#Long Post#Read More#Mystic Code Book#Minerva Confidential Report#TPN Light Novels#A Letter from Norman#The Day Emma Cried#Films of Memories#Operation Stormy Night#TPN S1#TPN S1e02#TPN 010#TPN 028#TPN 001#TPN S1e01#TPN 060#TPN 062#TPN 099#TPN 100#TPN 102

I'm really glad ppl are finding comfort in a few of my fics after how S4 ended.
If anyone else needs stories that end with the Hargreeves alive and actually being a family, try these.
Make Me Your Bomb - by @uniasus : S4 AU (written before it came out) where the Universe comes calling upset that the reset disrupted the planned apocalypse. Viktor trades his skills as a world destroyer for the opportunity for Five to create their perfect universe.
Picture Book by gin_juice : S1 fic series where they all try to patch the things that went wrong as children. A+ for Vanya being amazing at pool, not so amazing at crushes.
Grocery List Goals by @uniasus : S1 AU where they time travel back a year and try to set things straight - including snipping Reginald's legal control over them, getting Vanya and Klaus clean. The last scene of this is 100% a sleep, team hug.
tethered mind free from the lies by meliebee: S1 AU where family heals are hard, made harder by how Allison's gunshot in the theater made Vanya deaf in one ear. Doesn't end with a picture-perfect family, but they're trying. (One of the few fics I have reread).
World Enough by inktwice : Takes place after S2, where they're all holed up in a cabin and learning how to not fight each other. Amazing sibling moments.
Reckoning by bootscoot6 : Takes place after S2 as they try to figure out how to handle the new 2019, actually talk together, and Vanya's affinity with music kinda works like a siren which I love.
Bonus fic! Five and Lila acting like they're supposed to:
The First Step by TheNavigator : S3 fic. Where Lila and Five help each other via really bad coping mechanisms in Reginald's universe because Lila is pissed at Diego for thinking being pregnant = not able to fight.

so i saw this post and the reply underneath it

and what if ... god was turned mortal and born as ... agnes nutter ...
oh i love-loved that art, i know it was meant to be based on the moon meme but it's so good!!!✨ but let's get into a little bit of speculation, eh? now's a good a time as any!!!
hmm, came to earth as agnes nutter? it's an interesting thought and would be really cool, but im not entirely convinced. but agnes was absolutely meant to be a personification of god, i think that's without doubt.
but i think there might be some kind of clue as to what happened - and will happen - to god in agnes' brief but important narrative. if we take her story as a hypothetical direct parallel to god, agnes ended up being hunted down and burned on a pyre as a witch, but then did an ol' bait and switch and blew everyone and herself up (bitch behaviour, gorgeous, stunning).
but what if this is similar to what happened to god?
we know that the last canonical time her voice appears is speaking to job, when she starts challenging him on asking her questions. to me, she's essentially saying that he has no right to do so, which echoes the same kind of rhetoric that is implied by the fall. aziraphale and crowley can't seem to hear what she is saying - her voice from their perspective is muffled - and i know others have remarked that her voice sounds manufactured (like, in the narrative itself). also in job, there is a key lighting difference - heaven is swathed in golden heavenly light, compared to the stark white it is now.
however, despite the voice being fake school of thought, im inclined to believe that she is actually present. this, to me, is supported by aziraphale's dynamic in heaven; gabriel and michael obviously have the wrong end of the stick where concerns job's fate, that much is true, but i do think the general vibe is that they are a touch more collaborative with him than in s1, where it felt much more cold, and laden with subtle but aggressive superiority:
essentially, it feels more here that they are indeed following god (obviously still immoral in doing so, but they seem so much more innocent and almost teamlike?). im possibly projecting and misinterpreting here, but i do think nonetheless there is a big difference between the character behaviour of the angels between job and 2019.
now there was this brilliant meta put forward by @amuseoffyre✨ that looked at gabriel's weird iterations when he 'remembers', and how it overlaps with what sounds like god's voice. it frankly hasn't left my brain since, because to my mind, the book of life might come into this. the theme of memory being lost, but also possibly memory being scattered, is very prevalent in s2. my thoughts on the book of life are that it essentially doesn't necessarily erase life/existence, but in the context of angels specifically erases the essence of their divinity (ie. falling) - which maybe to angels is the same as losing who they are, and by extension parts of their memory.
so what if god was written into the book of life? well im not 100% convinced that it's as simple as that - it's GO after all, it never is that simple. in any case, for what purpose she might have been written in (other than metatron essentially being machiavellian by nature but that's by the by) is similarly uncertain; i could imagine a good ol' fashioned power struggle possibly has a hand in it somewhere. but again, this just doesn't seem to be quite right.
for this next bit, where i think possibly god might have gone/done, im going to refer to nietzsche and his famous statement, "god remains dead, and we have killed him." to me, this doesn't mean that god never existed or a lack of belief in god is now absolute, but instead that other belief systems potentially will replace, and have replaced, god. now, that could be belief in science, or other theology and philosophy, or just plain belief in oneself. and the prospect is dangerous, as nietzsche also elaborates, because it's irreversible, and there will always exist the need to replace it with something in order to avoid complete nihilistic belief.
so going off of this, if god is no longer untouchable - unquestionable - where does that leave us? well, it leaves us like job; being put through trials and horrors that are being challenged for their necessity and the morality in exacting them. it starts us on the same journey as aziraphale - does god truly intend this to happen? if so, why would she? is this a system - a god - i want to trust and believe in anymore? (coincidentally, crowley on the whole, and particularly at start of s2, appears to have gone straight to the nihilistic end of the spectrum following the fall, and through his development since the fall is instead slowly working his way backwards to finding faith in something again, and meet aziraphale in the metaphorical middle).
but back to the story, and agnes: i think the above is going to be posed in s3, and would tie in narratively with what i anticipate will be a recounting of the fall. that collectively - same as the witchfinders and the village did to agnes - humanity and heaven and hell may start to question the power behind god, and whether god herself can be challenged in her plan, the morality and ethics of it, and what it means for true free will. the only issue is, i think, is that in god possibly having retreated after job, because that's when that line of questioning kind of started amongst her people and amongst her angels, metatron has rushed to fill the vacuum and pretends that he is still acting in her name.
the conclusion i come to after all this ridiculous rambling is this: i think that god did intend to step back from heaven, but didn't leave anything to fill the void - hence the absolute chaos that has ensued since. i think she has surrendered herself over to the allegorical pyre, seen it coming and has accepted that her death - the loss of blind faith in her - is needed for humanity to progress.
maybe the last thing she'll do is a bait and switch; who that metaphorical mix of gunpowder and roofing nails will hit, and why, i don't know...
or maybe it won't happen at all, and this is where the parallel diverges from agnes' story? actually reaching a peaceful and acceptable ending, where free will will actually flourish and determinism borne of her omniscience will dwindle into nothing?
if you or anyone made it to this point, well-bloody-done because that was A Lot!!!✨
#good omens#god i really do chat some shit dont i#god is dead theory... maybe???#its all just good soup 🍲🍲🍲#ask

Babe if you can't complete Kassam route before the deadline, someone called Sound something covered every single scene of his route. Anyway, congrats on getting the 🦄 I tried it but alas.
yes, SoundNo3485 on reddit ! i have mad respect for their dedication in covering so many different routes. especially with the bugginess of the OG app (and all the damn ads, because the airplane mode trick doesn't work. that's the only thing i like about the new app) they've posted scenes i've never come across before, it rlly amazes me how detailed season 2 was.
kassam was my LI while s2 was airing, so i managed to unlock him back in 2019 ! (time flies, doesn't it?) after that, i couldn't get it to open again , i've always just dragged him back to the villa. so i'm like, ridiculously happy i unlocked his route again lol
if you (or anyone reading this) want to unlock kassam's route: there is a guaranteed method of getting him . unfortunately it's extremely time consuming (FB is so trifling for only giving us two weeks notice) the game is glitched out so the "actual" way of getting him (being a shy/chill MC) is pretty much impossible, but we can use those glitches to our advantage. what matters is the casa guys' heart scores, nothing else. hearts from previous playthroughs get stored in the game's cache, so:
before casa amor, play however you want, seriously, you can do anything. (if you're wondering what i did, i was with rocco until he gets dumped, then i was with henrik. unlocked marisol's route, fixed all the drama, didn't participate in operation nope)
once you're in CA, wear the free outfits to prevent getting hearts from arjun and felix . pick all the mean options for them too, you'll need to get a bunch of frowns (when it comes to carl, i think he always likes MC ? at least in my playthroughs he does, but i pied him off as well just to be careful)
flirt with kassam and elijah at every opportunity. yes, both . their routes are connected for some reason. more importantly, elijah has to be your bed partner if kassam's route isn't unlocked. if kassam rejects you, you'll most likely be stuck with arjun or felix, whichever casa guy has been hounding you the most. it's way easier to get on elijah's route, even if he doesn't say your name. as long as you pick all his heart options, his route will open during the speed date . (i like elijah too, he's such an underrated LI)
pie off elijah when he eventually starts talking about bringing him to the villa (sorry luv) choose kassam for brunch and then drag him to the villa, keep increasing his heart score for a few days. another important thing, if you care about scenes being out of order, don't kiss, don't do bits, don't take gem scenes for alone time. blah blah blah. his first kiss is where he reads your palm. his first alone time scene (on the swing) he talks about taking in the moment/meditating (imma be real, idk what the steamy scenes look like cus i don't pick them lmaooo🖤🩶🤍💜)
the unfortunate and time consuming part, you have to hit the "restart show" button. one time! no more than that. some people on the LITG subreddit have had luck with just restarting to day 14, i'm not one of them . you can try it ofc, but it's very finicky. restarting the show works 100%
again, play however you want. (i pretty much did the same stuff as my 1st playthrough, except i was with lucas after rocco leaves) while you're at it, check for signs that heart scores carried over. one immediate way i was able to tell is: in my completely brand new playthrough, i picked the shy and neutral options, so bobby didn't step forward for my MC. second time around, with thee same exact choices, he did.
once you're in casa, kassam and elijah will be the ones that say your name ! yay ! wooo. i cheered when it was elijah staring at MC instead of felix . there's a funny scene during the speed date when you're on their route. elijah lingers after the buzzer goes off, kassam walks up to yall and tells him to move. anyways, ask kassam to share a bed and he'll say yes . unicorn acquired

@my-shields-are-down asked about The Rookie timeline I was creating this is what I got lol
The Rookie Rewatch
@MANDY_rieger on twitter has been helping me with a few things I forgot to add in originally
so I am doing a rewatch of The Rookie while we are in a hiatus and I am tweeting about it while I am at it lol. I am also trying to make sense of the Timeline lol so this post is gonna be me tracking the time line the best i can lol
s1ep1 - Two days
s1ep2 - based on the beginning of the episode I think it is still the first week of training
is s1ep5 is a month
s1ep7 is 2 months in
S1ep11 is 4 months in. Nolan said “4 months together” to Bishop
S1ep12 is Valentines day so Feb 14th.
Would that mean that they started in october?
s1ep14 is 100 days in because that is plain clothes day
S1ep16 is march 19-march 20th, Capt Anderson died MArch 20th 2019
S1ep19 is about 6 months because they have their 6 month exam.
Also in s1ep19 during Talia’s meeting the IA officer said “this past october you failed to secure your vehicle”. Which means that the episode where the one dude takes selfies in the shop is in October, (s1ep3)
So season 1 is officially 6 months.
I CAN'T with this shit lol.
Ok so the opening scene of s2ep1 starts with everyone getting to the hospital, and it picks up right where it left off, but like legit the next scene is at Nolans new place with Jess and they were talking about the shooting the night of the quarantine and she says something about 2 weeks, then the next scene is TIm’s return to work. So like I’m assuming we’re at about 6 and half months now? Lol
S2ep2 - still at about 6 months. Grace and Nolan ran into each other again for the first time in years, and Grace asked Nolan how long he’s been a cop and he says 6 months.
S2ep3-s2ep4 Is 2 weeks. Rachel tells Lucy him and Rachel have been dating 2 weeks.
S2ep6- Wopez have been together for 5 months
S2ep6 They graduated the Academy sometime in September
s2ep6 - the dui they are discussing was March 16th.
S2ep7 Jackson is 26
S2ep8 as of this episode Tim has been a cop for 12 years
S2ep10- this episode is Dec 7th 2019, as well as dec 8th 2019
S2ep11 is dec 9th and 10th
Which means we are already at 14 months which is the most broken thing in this time line lol.
S2ep18 one year into being a Rookie. And they have 1 month. So they are at 12 months, but they hit 14 months already soooo this timeline is too broken lol hahahahahaha
S3ep1 picks up where s2 left off. Also we find out Angela is pregnant
S3ep2 Tim says Lucy has 25 days left of training
S3ep4 Nolan has said a dozen times this episode that he is 46
S3ep5 Tim says Jackson is 24. But when Tim and Jackson went to the football thing Jackson said he was 26 🤔😆
S3ep7 the missile threat was June 3rd 2019
S3ep9 is suppose to be 13 months but I mean come on now 😂 Angela says she's 14 weeks pregnant
S3ep10 is the first day of Lucy and Jackson as P2-which means it’s *suppose* to be 13 total
S3ep14 when Lopez is in guatemala the nurse says she is 29 weeks pregnant.
S4ep1 is suppose to 14 months because Nolan is at the end of is rookie period
By the end of the of the episode there is a 3 month time jump
S4ep5 is Halloween- pretty sure it suppose to be of 2020 technically as it is AFTER dod which was dec of 2019

looks like those starz shows has been cancelled and it was just made public. run the world showrunner tweeted this: https://twitter.com/rachellerw/status/1706427706550915513?s=46. and heels just finished its second season run. there’s more than SA’s BS to be fair. the show tried casting several years ago but wasn’t successful. they tried again in 2019 and finished casting. they were supposed to film beginning of 2020 but couldn’t bc of the pandemic. they started late 2020 and finished early 2021, premiered late 2021. they got renewed within 3 weeks. they started filming s2 early 2022 and finished july 2022. then starz & lionsgate ended their partnership the rest of last year (and the result of that made heels only available in the US). so they pushed s2 to the end of this july- a whole year after they finished filming it and two whole years after s1 ended. and it happened to air during two strikes and then SA’s BS happened. I think it was already cancelled and maybe that could’ve explained SA’s behavior, like he was lashing out bc he thought promoting it could save it, but even if it wasn’t already cancelled when that all happened, it definitely was cancelled for a bit before it went public, like the other shows. So, as a fan of that show and the other cast members like Kelli Berglund & Alexander Ludwig, I don’t think it’s 100% bc of Stephen. It wasn’t the only one cancelled either. It feels like the show never had a real chance to gain an audience, as barely anyone has Starz, the pandemic delayed it, SA got covid & broke his back during S1 filming so it took even longer than it was supposed to, the network politics delayed it, & the strike stopped promotion. And Starz wasn’t doing any of the promo itself. It was all the cast during S1. They held screenings for several episodes. And it was actually supposed to do a promotion with a real wrestling network this past July, which was another thing Stephen was salty about on his IG, bc the strike stopped that. But it is ironic that scabbing didn’t save the show , lol. I feel terrible for the rest of the cast 😞 There was another wrestling show but on Netflix that was cancelled a while ago, so I feel bad for the wrestling fans. Even other Starz shows that were really well liked got cancelled before these four shows. I know the ratings weren’t what it should’ve been but those are a lot of factors that costed viewers, I can’t fully blame the show itself.
but it’s definitely SA karma.
It obviously wasn’t all his fault, in fact it probably wasn’t even mostly his fault but at the same time he’s a crappy person so he kinda deserves it. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ We hope other cast and the crew find new jobs soon.

Sorta's CD/DVD/Blu-Ray Collection

Tons of notes under the cut
The Beatles Red and Blue albums are the 2023 remixed and expanded versions, not the 2010 remasters with practically the exact same packaging.
The Bad 25 case has been jammed since I got it in 2019, so despite it having a bonus disc inside, I've only ever been able to use the first disc. Yeah, that's nice.
I do have the slipcover on Echoes in a drawer, but not on the case because the case is kind of busted and can't fit it.
The tiny replacement case is for Running with Scissors by "Weird Al" Yankovic.
I don't actually have Rio or Surf's Up (at least not the discs anymore) but I'm using them as replacement cases for the Snow White 2001 cases, since that case wasn't in great shape. Prepare to see something like that a lot.
The Tangled DVD case has disc 1 of the Atlantis DVD due to a bad disc holder in that case (disc 2 isn't too bad though)
The copy of Iron Man on the third shelf was one I bought from a record store in 2020 that somehow didn't have the bonus Blu-Ray, but instead a DVD copy, and for some reason I didn't think to get a refund (it was the same visit actually when I got Echoes and its bad case).
I put the discs for the Steven Universe box set in those four clear cases due to how bad the sleeves were. However, I also keep the original Season 1 DVD there (which I got a couple years earlier in 2018) because the identical S1 discs in that specific box set might have been particularly ruined. (Now do you see why I want disc sleeves in box sets banned?)
I do have Angry Birds Toons S2, Vol. 1 on DVD, but due to, wait for it, another bad case, I have the disc in the Lion King 2011 Blu-Ray case, which conveniently was missing the DVD. (Same story actually for Finding Dory as I moved my Kirby's Dream Collection case into there from a bad GameStop case, although nowadays at least it's backed up through USB Loader GX.)
The Star Trek Compendium steelbook version on the 2nd shelf (which was also from that visit to that record store that I swear was way better than I'm making it out to be) was such a nightmare packaging-wise that I just ordered the case version of it.
The version of Star Trek Beyond I have is the Target 2-disc Blu-Ray, with the DVD thrown into the Snow White 2001 case.
The Cartoon Saloon box set's weird disc holders were bad (especially for Song of the Sea, which had to spend a few days after Christmas '21 in an empty Wii U case) so I have those 4 discs in a plain case.
The Arrested Development S1 DVD I bought in 2023 had a broken disc spindle, so the 3 discs are spread across an empty Minecraft Xbox case, a LEGO Star Wars Force Awakens PS4 case, and the actual case.
I also have a VERY old DVD of Batman (1989) via a Wii copy of LEGI Batman: The Videogame.
Ftr, I still haven't mentioned that I'll probably need replacement cases, for varying reasons, for Encanto, A Bug's Life, every 2018-present Pixar movie with 2 Blu-Ray discs, MCU Phase 3b (and 3a if I ever get that in 4K), Holy Grail Extraordinarily Deluxe edition, SpongeBob 100 Episodes, and especially del Toro's Pinocchio.
Tl;dr: my tastes might be a bit limited and weird and apparently making a reliable case is 100 times harder than you think. Viva La Disque!
#physical media#physical storage media#blu ray#dvd#cd#blu ray collection#dvd collection#cd collection#death to disc sleeves#btw i'm such a horrible procrastinator at just watching movies that a good chunk of these i've never even watched#and the ones i have i haven't seen most of the extras that make me buy extra versions#but i just love the collection#a collection of purchases spanning well over a decade#and movies literally spanning almost a hundred years (even if nearly everything pre-2000s is just mostly-disney animated films)#also fun mixing in the classics everyone knows with some out of left-field over looked gems#like literally who else's tiny cd shelf includes brian wilson the beatles coldplay drake pink floyd weird al and oneohtrix point never?#actually scratch that who's cd shelf even includes oneohtrix point never? well i know mine does!

This is just me ranting but I feel like after S2 there needs to be a new tag in ao3 that tells you if a story is gonna be lowkey Az bashing or not becase the amount of "poor Crowley we need his mean asshole angel grovel and beg bc he's all wrong" fanfics are pretty much the prevalent stuff nowadays.
i've just resigned myself to not reading any new fic for a while. like back in 2019, the book fans tried to get the newer fans to stop tagging the book in their fics--but it was frankly out of control-- so now it's near fucking impossible to find book-based fic unless you wanna go read stuff published more than 4 years ago.
there's no way fic authors are gonna tag aziraphale bashing when they all think he's 100% completely in the wrong and poor crowley is the wronged party. they haven't learned the lesson from s1. they think crowley wanting to go off into the stars with aziraphale is the most romantic shit. but it's not romantic, really.
crowley's solution is to cut and run, but then that means the earth would be destroyed. and heaven and hell would find them at some point anyway. aziraphale wants to reform heaven to prevent the apocalypse. but there is no reforming heaven. one angel can't do that. they're both wrong. they need to find a third solution. and it seems no one can fucking understand that right now. they see crowley hurt and think, how dare aziraphale do this to crowley?? after all crowley has done for him??
i literally cannot deal with it right now.
