A shoutout to a the courageous Warriors of Light out there, who’ve been rising to the battlefield of the mind! The war between Good and Evil is as old as humanity itself, since it’s part of our dualistic nature. Sadly, though there is so much good on this beautiful planet, it seems like negativity has been dominating the game for a while.. So we prayed, asked for change and 2020 is delivering the shift we needed! Nature, tired of the disrespect we where showing to our home, returned our karma as a virus, meant to regulate us back on track. This has freaked out most of us, as we got so comfortable in our selfish ways. But really, we’ve just been called to be compassionate for the weak, by staying at home with our loved ones and focusing on our health. This is our chance to focus on our spiritual disciplines, to become more congruent with the healing we all want for our planet. So our main homework is to be patient in this process and heal ourselves from the negativity we each inevitably carry. The battle between good and evil won’t be fought in the streets, between activists and the government/corporations/Illuminati (or the police those hire), that would be a waste of energy and life. The real war happens inside each and every one of us, every day! We all need to purge our negative ways and open up a clean space to channel God itself into our being! If we all can transform to this potential, there is no dark forces that could rule us and no viruses that could kill us! So this is our chance! Let’s stop focusing on the bad news on tv, or conspiracy theories that bum is out further. Let’s focus on our Love for the planet, nature, animals, ourselves, humanity, even evil ones! Social Media & Participatory Culture

Social media has become such an integral part in our lives, that if it was to be swiftly taken away from us, our existence would seem futile. Which is a scary thought, and a very dismal one at that, but the amount of dependence our society has upon social media interaction, only proves the sheer weight of social media upon the shoulders of our Western civilization.

Whether you like it or not, your participation in social media is inevitable. In some way , shape or form, you will have some sort of social media presence.  Now should this be classified as something negative? I think to recognize that there can be negative impacts to the high volume of social media usage is something that is very realistic, but to classify all of social media as negative is overkill, and just plain preposterous. But to say that there is negative impacts such as social media addiction and problematic social media use, are not only something that should be recognized, but is something that is becoming increasingly more prominent in many mental health studies.

“With new technologies, new cognitive possibilities arise. Educators need to create new activities when new technologies are introduced into the classroom.” This is something that is brought forth to the forefront by author of the Confronting the Challenges of Participatory Culture: Media Education for the 21st Century article, Henry Jenkins. I think accentuates the main idea of how tied in social media is to education. 

“I think some people forget in your career, it’s not just like a solo thing..” says Ariel Lopez, founder and CEO of career platform 2020Shift, when asked about social media presence in the article This Is What Recruiters Look For On Your Social Media Accounts. Social media can come with its positive upsides. For one, the sheer amount of connection that it provides with anyone on the internet.
