Column of the Immaculate Conception. Interesting story on this one - each year in early Dec, the Pope visits and delivers flowers and the local fireman place a wreath of roses on her arm, starting the Christmas season officially in Rome.

In Florence there is a huge cathedral (called a Duomo) and this is the tower attached to it. Three different types of marble on the outside and the sheer scale was a sight to see.
