ɢᴇᴛᴛɪɴɢ ʙᴀᴄᴋ ᴏɴ ʏᴏᴜʀ ꜰᴇᴇᴛ: 25 ᴅᴀʏꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴡʀɪᴛɪɴɢ [ᴘʀᴏᴍᴘᴛꜱ]
write a letter from the pov of your mc. to a loved one, or their enemy, or their future self. one letter, however long or short it will be.
if your mc owned a home in the modern-day world, what would it look like? describe the rooms, who lives there, the smells and tastes and feelings.
your mc plans the *perfect* night out with someone they love. lead us through it.
describe your mc's happiest memory.
in return, describe a memory that put them through it.
suddenly there's television (or something akin to) in whatever world it takes place in—fantasy, sci-fi, dystopia. what kinds of shows are on? what shows do your main cast like to watch? what modern-day actors would play as the shows' characters?
look for a part of your wip that you struggled with—or begin a new page if you haven't begun it yet. write at least one line. write one more. delete it all, and start over. write the same scene (a scene lasts until a character leaves or enters) until you are proud. you wrote this. you should be. take as long as you need.
curate a playlist: one song for every character introduced.
make a theme for your wip. [theme = idea + opinion] the theme of Sleeping Beauty could be true love conquers all.
[take a break. you deserve it.]
write a letter from the main antagonist complaining about the protagonist.
take the first chapter of your wip, but as the mc's enemy.
all your main and side characters (evil ones included) joined a therapy group (they probably needed it, didn't they). write out the discussion in the form of a movie script.
the protagonist and antagonist sit down and have a heart-to-heart. what do they discuss? what do they confess?
you're now a—specifically—gen z blogger commenting on the actions of your characters, in any chapter you like.
write yourself into one chapter of your book. how would you face the terrifying evil, or manipulative politics? not your mc—you.
plop your characters into a whole other genre. they're sci-fi alien slayers? well, guess who's the new Sherlock Holmes. the kings and queens of Narnia? add a bit of a coming-of-age love crisis.
pick two characters. any two: pull them out of a jar, spin a wheel, I don't care. make a Venn diagram with them on either side.
pick your mc and make a bullet list of thirty things they've probably achieved in an au. skydiving world record? ultimate frisbee world champion? most books read within a span of 24h? it's up to you.
[rest. you're almost there.]
set a timer for ten minutes. in those five minutes, write out the death scene of an important character—whether of old age or to be clicked into the storyline later.
edit your work. find common errors and ask someone to proofread. you can use websites such as Hemingway Editor.
go on picrew (or any other website) and make your characters.
take a chapter or chunk of text you're unsatisfied with, and rewrite it completely from memory. this will leave the important parts and help sharpen the words. do this as many times as you like until you're satisfied.
set a timer for ninety minutes. pick up where you left off, and write as much as you can—screw the plot line, trash grammar, ignore sense. it's only a draft, and it can only get better.
if you decide to post anything, feel free to tag me in them!
you've got this.

#presentsforpadfoot Part 1
I promise I don’t keep meaning to do part 1/part 2s but I lost some writing time today and it just isn’t getting finished. Anyway, here’s the before the present buying cuteness and a little sadness and then tomorrow I’ll post the shopping and the Christmas holidays.
“That’s time. Everyone pass your parchments forward and no homework over the holiday break. You’ve all done marvellous work this semester and I cannot wait to work with you all again in January.” Remus called out to the class after a cursory glance at the clock. He’d accidentally let class run an extra three minutes but thankfully this was the last course before supper.
The classroom erupted into babble as the students passed their tests forward. Remus walked by the front row collecting all the tests and then moved to his desk to pack the tests and his books up. A few students came up to wish him a Happy Christmas, he returned the wishes with a smile and watched the classroom empty out until only one student remained.
He looked so much like James, it caused a pang of ache in Remus’ chest. He’d grown quite a bit over the last few months in the way that teenagers begin to resemble baby deer; limbs too long and not enough control over them. His hair was getting shaggier too, sticking up at all ends. Perhaps Remus could convince him to trim it a bit over the holidays. Harry was staring out the window as Remus walked over to him.
“Something on your mind, Harry?” Remus smiled warmly at his godson.
“Professor Lupin…” He began but Remus held up a hand.
“It’s the holidays now, Haz. No need to call me Professor.” He instructed, pulling over a chair to sit down in front of where Harry was seated at his own desk.
“Moony…” Harry smiled tentatively. “I need your help.” He admitted just as slowly as he had spoken Remus’ nickname. Remus kept the shock off his face, unsure what his godson could have in mind. He’d had a pension for getting into trouble since his first year at Hogwarts and not the good kind James had gotten himself into, but the kind where he’d nearly died multiple times.
“I’m always here, you know that.” Remus’ expression softened even as Harry grew more nervous.
“Idontknowwhattogetpadfootforchristmas!” He rushed out. Remus looked at him in momentary confusion before bursting into laughter.
“Ok, take a breath, I’ve understood Padfoot and Christmas?” He inquired leaning forward warmly.
“I don’t know what to get Padfoot for Christmas.” Harry repeated, slower this time. “Will you help me?”
“You don’t have to get him anything. He’s happy to just spend the holidays with you after all these years.” Remus attempted to reassure him though his hunch was that since Harry was the perfect mix of James and Lily this would not placate him.
“I have to get him something.” Sure enough.
“Ok, how about we go into Hogsmeade tomorrow and do some Christmas shopping before we floo home.” Remus reasoned, mentally calculating how to rearrange their day to allow for a shopping trip.
“You mean it!” Harry looked up excitedly.
“Of course. How about this, I’ll meet you at Hogsmeade station so you can walk down there with Ron and Hermione and say goodbye to them and then we can continue into the village for our shopping.” It was worth rearranging their plans for the look of delight on his godson’s face.
“Thank you thank you thank you!” Harry exclaimed, jumping up out of his seat and embracing Remus. Remus chuckled and ruffled Harry’s hair.
“Come on now, we’d better get to supper.” He stood with an arm around Harry’s shoulders as the topic changed to plans of picking up another gift for Ron. Though Remus would have guessed that was just so Harry could go to the Quidditch store for his own reasons.
Sometimes it was so strange to walk these halls again. Even with this being his second year back at Hogwarts, Remus still felt the metaphorical ghosts of his past around every corner. Last year his mind had been stuck so firmly on Sirius, when Remus wasn’t imagining him there, he’d actually physically see him in those awful wanted posters or discarded Prophets. This year though it was Lily and James who haunted him.
One particularly vivid memory hit him when he rounded the corner towards Gryffindor tower from his office. Of James standing just by that tapestry fretting about what he was going to buy Lily for Christmas. His hair was a mess, all of him was really because his uniform was wrinkled and windswept. Remus tried to recall if he’d just gone flying but he didn’t remember James carrying his broom during this conversation. James had been pacing back and forth as they waited for Sirius and Peter to meet them.
“You really think she’ll like this necklace? Maybe I need to go back to Hogsmeade. Oh! What if I get her an owl! She doesn’t have one and she’s always talking about how she wishes she didn’t have to borrow Marlene’s to write to her dad. Or a cat! She loves cats. Do you think it would be too much to buy her a cat? Is there time to go back to Hogsmeade tonight?”
“Jamie, calm down.” Remus chuckled. “Lily has been one of my best friends for six years—“
“Not helping.” James grit through his teeth.
“Anyway,” Remus rolled his eyes. “She doesn’t need an owl or a cat or even that necklace. Though the necklace is perfect!” He added at James’ panicked expression. “She’s going to love just spending the holidays with you. She’s so excited to meet your parents.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. Whatever you give her, it’ll be perfect.” Remus pat James’ shoulder. James sighed.
“It’s just the last Christmas before…” Before indeed.
“I know. Best not to think about it. Look there’s Wormy and Padfoot.”
Remus shook himself out of the memory before he could get too sad. They all ended like that now, their childhood tainted by the war. Harry’s too now. It hurt to remember, to be in this place and live the memories again in such a visceral way. He gave the password to the portrait and fought another wave of nostalgia as he made his way across the common room and up the boy’s staircase. Thankfully Harry hadn’t been assigned to the Marauder’s old dorm. That may have been too much for Remus to handle today. He plastered on a smile now though, tonight he’d share a drink with Sirius and they’d reminisce together, now he would worry about Harry.
He knocked twice on the door before it was opened by a very distraught looking Seamus.
“Oh hello there Professor.” Remus didn’t miss his shocked look.
“Everything alright, Seamus?” He inquired.
“Erm…” He looked sheepishly.
“He stole my jumper and won’t give it back!” A voice from deep within the dorm called out.
“I did not steal your jumper, Dean! Besides, it looks better on me.” He muttered the last part under his breath and Remus had to bite his lip to keep from laughing. So the glances he’d caught between the two students this year were something after all.
“Is Harry here?” He asked, leaving the boys to their own privacy and moving back to his task at hand.
“Over here, Profess—Moony.” He corrected himself shyly. He was haphazardly chucking things into his trunk. Remus chuckled at how like James that was.
“I just came to take your things so you don’t have to carry them around Hogsmeade but it looks like I may have come by too early.”
“Nearly done.” Harry exclaimed. “Ron, have you seen my transfiguration book?” He called over to the redhead who looked even worse for wear than Harry was with packing.
“Uuh, oh here!” Ron dove under his bed and retrieved a book, tossing it just past Remus’ nose. Harry caught it expertly. “Oops, sorry Professor.”
“No harm done, Ron.”
“There. Packed!” Harry looked up from his packed bag and handed it over to Remus. “I’ll meet you at the station?” He asked, clearly making sure they still planned to go on their shopping trip. Remus smiled warmly at the hesitation in his question.
“Yes, see you in a few hours.” Then he turned to the room at large, “Happy Christmas, boys!” The greeting was repeated as Remus left the dorm.

Kinkmas: Day Four
Winter Wolf
Your Werewolf Boyfriend was insistent that you needed to stay inside when he shifted, especially in the winter. Something about the way your warm skin would smell in the air would drive him crazy, apparently. So whenever he shifts, you stay inside and do your best to respect him and his wishes. That being said, you can’t help but peek out sometimes, hoping to see your gorgeous white wolf of a boyfriend.
If you’re lucky, he’ll be patrolling your “den”, hoping to catch a whiff of you. A few times you’ve seen him mid-shift, a monstrously tall creature that you think would be just as likely to rip out your throat as he is to fuck you into the dirt. The thought makes you shudder.
One night, you decide to crack open the window. The heater is broken and won’t stop blowing, making it unbearably hot. The cold winter air feels so good when you stick your face up to the window. You don’t stick it out. Not quite. Just up to it. This way you’re not technically breaking your boyfriend’s rule, right?
Suddenly, you hear loud footsteps and low snarling. Every hair on the back of your neck stands on end as your breath catches. Slowly, you step away from the window, doing your best to slide it back down quietly, but it’s too late. He caught your scent.
In a matter of moments, the simple wooden door to the front of the cabin is ripped open, the now useless knob clattering against the tiled floors. Your Werewolf Boyfriend- tall, muscular, menacing- stands in the doorway, half transformed. He has to duck to get inside the doorway. His long claws scraping the floor. Your heart is in your throat as you stare at him in awe and a twinge of fear.
He sniffs the air, though only for a moment before his eyes land on you. Like a hunter who has found his prey. You don’t even have time to scramble back before he’s on you, pinning you under his massive body. The warmth of him is comforting now that the cold winter wind is blowing in through the demolished door and still ajar window. His fat tongue licks up your neck, sending shivers down your spine.
“Mine,” he growls as his claws dig into your waist. “My mate. Mine.”
You can only let out a tiny, “Yours” in response as he easily tears off your clothes.
His fat tongue trails down your body until he starts tongue fucking you, making you writhe and whine under him. His claws hold you in place, threatening to puncture your skin if you move too much. You whimper and whine, squirm and scream his name, but he doesn’t let up until you’ve orgasmed more times than you can count.
Only when you’re seeing stars and feel like a limp doll, does he let up. You draw a hard breath, trying to regain yourself, but that’s only for that breath. He nips your neck just as he slides into you, his massive girth stretching you out more than you thought he could.
“Baby, hang on. Wait,” you gasp, gripping his furry shoulders. “It’s… fuck you’re so big.”
He chuckles but doesn’t stop as he finally bottoms out inside of you, panting like a dog with his knot threatening your entrance. Maybe you’ll have to “accidentally” open the window next month if it leads to this.

and i turn around thinking. god damn i missed those foot steps and i lie about how i needed to never step on the cracks. cause you never liked it when i could be picky or i could not sleep without my small lamp. i never believe much, nor ever thought twice. i needed immediate proof of life. it wasn’t familiar nor was it far from the truth.. i knew that some day you’d find me up stream. loose in the river wondering and shivering by the shore. i meant to come home i swear you’ll never be alone without the lingering voices of your loved ones since gone. baby i wont come home. i wont be there if you leave me here. i wont come home if you tell me to. i pulled up next to you after the drive thru closed. i saw the reflection of your phone in the glass. i dropped my keys under my seat. hit my head on my steering wheel. hit the horn with my palm and tried to play it cool. you laughed i blushed we made our eyes meet in our respectful places.

what's the threshold theory
There was a post about how Tom is the only crew member who isn't really affected by the Borg, and there's a theory that he has so much luck because he saw the past and the future when he crossed the transwarp threshold. He saw the past and the future, all of time and space. There's some subconscious part of him that remembers that experience. In fact, Tom refused to play a part in Chakotay indulging Annorax's temporal incursions, probably because a part of him knew nothing good could come of it.
If we extend that same theory to Janeway, some of her wild luck with time travel and other crack plans starts to make sense. She doesn't verbally hate time travel until after the events of Threshold, since it happens in Time and Again without complaint. Janeway has an uncanny knack for time travel, as evidenced every time she deals with it. She hates time travel, but it might be because part of her knows exactly how to manipulate the timeline. She manages to avoid the "inevitable" temporal explosion in Future's End, saving both Voyager and Braxton. She resets the entire timeline in Year of Hell, and no one else followed her reasoning. She pulled it off flawlessly. In Relativity, she senses the incidents are all related, despite it being just one reading that connects them. By the time she's involved, she has a temporal incursion factor of .0036 and a time travel protocol named after her, even if that may just be Braxton's personal grudge. Then there's Endgame, where she intentionally changes the timeline. Up until this point, she has been dragged into time travel, but for the first time, she jumps in on purpose. How does Admiral Janeway know how to get them home sooner in a way that completely avoids the Temporal Integrity Commission? It's because she has seen all of time, and part of her knows exactly what needs to happen so she can get Voyager home and do it in a way that becomes baked into the prime timeline. Maybe she doesn't consciously remember what happened during her transformation, but the experience lives in her mind somewhere, guiding her decisions.
#every day is threshold day#tldr threshold cemented the time travel shenanigans#we're not counting her disparagement of time travel in relativity i know it's technically before threshold#but they've messed with the timeline so much that her past timeline is also changed.#Time travel is funny because the past is the future the future is the past#so while relativity comes before threshold in the prime timeline her timeline has also been changed in a way that it wasn't before threshol#we could chalk it up to a writing oversight but this is more interesting#not to mention her uncanny luck with the Borg which I think ties in as well#it's part of why her instinct is so strong#also the bio neural gel packs but that's a different theory#listen she's amazing with or without having seen all of time and space but she has seen all of time and that must have affected her somehow#those little salamander babies also have all of the cosmos in their mind#tried to explain as concisely as possible but it is part of my overarching theory#she doesn't second guess herself nearly as much following their jaunt into transwarp#I have more but I'm trying to be brief cause it's written up partially in my drafts somewhere and i have some things i need to do today lol#meta#Star Trek voyager#Kathryn janeway#threshold day#did you expect me thresholdbb to not have a serious threshold theory?#listen I can make anything nonsense and turn anything into a serious theory I was known for this kinda bs in grad school#I wrote a 25 page paper on NOTHING once#I wrote a paper about how corn fields were super gay and it made my professor cry I can spin the bullshit it is one of my skills

(steddie | teen | 2.5k | tags: different first meeting, emotional hurt/comfort | summary: What happens when Steve meets Eddie Munson, who has just failed his senior year for the first time, during one of his nightly drives? | @steddielovemonth prompt Love is asking, "do you want a blanket?" by @thefreakandthehair | AO3)
Tumblr media
Steve's life was completely turned upside down (theoretically he sees the humor in this, but in practice the trauma trumps the pun) six months and six days ago when he came face-to-face with a honest-to-God inter-dimensional monster and barely survived to not tell the tale thanks to an airtight and frankly scary NDA.
He should be over it by now, right? He shouldn't be waking up screaming, drenched in his own sweat and shaking all over, his heart racing in his chest and his stomach in his throat.
Right.
Well, he's not. He doesn't get over it. The nightmares don't go away. If anything, he feels like they're getting worse, his mind adding horrible details and things that didn't happen, but could have, to keep torturing him.
He's a fucking mess.
Steve Harrington is a mess. His grades are slipping, on their way to joining his social status at rock bottom, and even his performance as co-captain of the swim team and basketball team is suffering from lack of sleep.
The only thing he has going for him is Nancy. Nancy, who doesn't understand that Steve just wants to get over the horror and the paranoia, just wants his life back, just wants to be normal again.
She doesn't say it outright, but he knows she thinks he's selfish, too self-centered to care about anything but himself. Sure, he's made amends with Jonathan and cut ties with Tommy and Carol, but deep down, Nancy doesn't think he's changed all that much. He's not Jonathan, he's not mature and monosyllabic and introspective. Just dumb little Steve, pretty to look at but not much else to offer.
These are the things he ponders during his late-night drives when another nightmare keeps him awake. It's impossible to fall asleep with terror pumping through his veins, so instead he climbs into his car and just drives. Some nights he will drive for hours, music playing softly from one of his tapes, Queen, Springsteen, Tears For Fears, Bon Jovi.
Tonight his drive takes him to the edge of town, right where a dirt road leads to the quarry. Steve has no idea why, but something makes him actually leave the main road and turn onto it. He follows it where it leads into the woods, slowing down on the bumpy road until he sees the dense cluster of trees open up to reveal a glimpse of the starry night sky. The path seems to open up into a clearing, and just there, to the right, Steve spots an old van.
He knows the car, has seen it often enough in the parking lot of Hawkins High to know that it belongs to none other than Eddie Munson, local drug dealer and freak.
At least that's what everyone keeps calling him, and sure, the guy seems a little weird, with his speeches on cafeteria tables, his dramatic antics in and out of class. He certainly doesn't look like most of the other kids, with his ripped jeans (clearly from wear and tear rather than fashion sense), long, unruly curls, and loud shirts advertising bands Steve has never heard of. People also shit on him for his father and for living in a trailer park, but none of that sounds particularly freaky to Steve.
Knowing what he does now, though, it worries him to think of Munson all alone out here where anything could happen to him. He doesn't know Munson, just about him, but Steve couldn't live with himself if he came to school on Monday and found Munson missing. One person has already died because of his carelessness, and no one deserves to suffer the same fate as Nancy's friend Barb.
Parking his car right next to Munson's, Steve climbs out and walks around the car to the trunk to pick up the nail bat that saved his life and the lives of Nancy and Jonathan. Then he makes his way to the opening of the clearing ahead.
Stepping out of the trees, Steve stops to take in the sight before him.
Above him stretches the inky expanse of the night sky, a seemingly endless void painted with a myriad of distant stars. The moonlight danced along the jagged edges of the quarry, revealing the vastness of the rocky landscape below in a silvery glow. The only sound that broke the silence of the night was the occasional soft rustle of leaves. The air was crisp and clean, carrying with it a hint of earthiness from the rocky terrain. In this secluded enclave, far from the lights of the city, the stars were front and center, and Steve felt unbelievably small.
With his shoulders hunched over his ears and his arms slung protectively around his knees, the figure sitting on the edge of the cliff looks even smaller than he feels.
It seems that Munson didn't even hear his car approaching, and that makes Steve's hair stand on end because it means that anyone, anything could have snuck up on him. It's not safe.
Steve approaches cautiously, trying his best not to startle the other boy and cause him to fall to his certain death.
"Munson?" He asks softly, quietly, but to no avail. It still causes Munson to flail in surprise, and only Steve's quick reflexes keep him from falling over the edge. With his knees still smarting from the sudden drop to the ground, Steve has his arm wrapped around the other boy, and both of them are panting from the shock.
"Fuck, man, are you trying to kill me?" Munson's voice quavers too much to be truly biting.
Steve carefully loosens his grip on Munson and leans back to sit on his haunches. Running a slightly trembling hand through his hair, he can't help but bite back. "If you paid more attention to what was going on around you, you would have heard me coming. I wasn't really trying to be subtle. It's like you want to get killed."
Munson scoots away from the edge of the cliff and climbs to his feet to look down at Steve and the nail bat he dropped when he made a grab for the other boy. He raises a judgmental eyebrow, causing Steve's defenses to go up in an instant.
They look at each other, brown meeting hazel, until Munson breaks the silence. "By someone walking around with a nail-studded bat, you mean?"
"I wasn't going to hit you with it!" And crap, abort Harrington, abort.
Now both eyebrows look at him questioningly. "And who, pray tell, pissed off King Steve enough to deserve this kind of treatment?"
"No one! For God's sake, I thought you might be in danger and wanted to be prepared in case you were." Then he adds, "After what happened to Will Byers and Barbara Holland, you'd think people in this town would be more careful instead of hanging out in the woods in the middle of the night."
Ed-No, Munson's eyes soften at his explanation. "Shit, sorry man. You're right, I guess." Shuffling his feet, he offers his own explanation for his harsh reaction. "Just had a shitty day, I guess. I shouldn't have bitten your head off for trying to look out for me. Although I never thought King Steve would ride in on his white horse to save the school freak from unimaginable evil."
"White horse? What, like a knight? Does that make you the damsel in distress, Munson?"
Munson gets a strange look on his face at Steve's words, and before he knows what's happening, the guy pretends to faint right into his arms. He catches him just before he hits the ground and feels how cold the boy's body is in his thin t-shirt. "My savior," Munson croons, and Steve rolls his eyes at his antics. Still not a freak, but definitely weird.
Instead of dignifying this with an answer, Steve says, "You're freezing, man. What are you doing out here in the middle of the night anyway?"
Dark brown eyes search his, and Steve thinks he's never seen such expressive eyes. He can read a myriad of emotions in them and he doesn't even know the guy. Sadness, caution, defeat, and something he's seen in the mirror a lot in the last few months: fear.
"I bet you have better things to do than listen to my sad little problems. Can't imagine you're just running around town rescuing damsels in distress now, I'm sure you have places to be, a kingdom to rule..."
"Could you just drop the whole 'King Steve' crap, man? I'm not him. Not anymore. Even if nobody seems to have gotten the memo."
"Okay, woah, sorry, man. I didn't know this was such a touchy subject."
"Do you want me to call you a freak and make assumptions about you based solely on high school gossip?"
"I don't know, don't you?"
"I'm trying not to. You don't have to tell me what's going on if you don't want to. I'm just saying... I know what it's like when you can't stand lying in your bed staring at the ceiling any longer. Wanting to get out and leave whatever it is that's bothering you behind, but no matter how fast you drive, it keeps catching up with you."
He's rambling, he knows he is, he didn't plan on unburdening his heart to Eddie Munson of all people, but here they are.
"I failed senior year." Eddie finally admits in a small voice, not meeting Steve's eyes.
"Oh."
"Yeah."
"Fuck, man. That sucks. Can you repeat it?"
"Sure. But I... God, everyone was right all along. I'm a failure, a fuckup. Just like my dad. A good-for-nothing waste of space. I haven't even told Wayne, I can't stand the look in his eyes when I tell him". There are tears in Eddie's eyes and Steve's heart breaks for him.
"Fuck!" Eddie shouts across the quarry and a flock of birds takes flight somewhere in the nearby woods. He's shaking again, and this time it's not from the adrenaline. Steve can't really take away any of the things that are weighing on Eddie, but he can offer him something else.
"Do you want a blanket?"
Eddie's doe eyes blink at him slowly, as if he's not sure he heard him right.
"You're only wearing a T-shirt, you must be cold." Eddie doesn't deny it. "Let me get you a blanket, then."
Another slow blink, and then, "If you're...sure?"
Steve gives him a smile that he hopes is warm and reassuring. "I'm sure." He walks over to his BMW and takes the nail bat with him, exchanging it for the blanket that he keeps in the trunk of his car at all times. Tommy H. calls it the "baby maker blanket," which is so typical of Tommy that Steve wonders why he was hanging out with him at all. Maybe because he was a friend to Steve when no one else would be.
But maybe he won't tell Eddie about the blanket's history. Anyway, it's freshly washed and smells only of his detergent.
Handing it to the boy, Steve says, "There you go," before turning to walk back to his car.
"Where are you going?"
When Steve turns back, Eddie is sitting on the ground with the blanket around his shoulder, one end held open as if inviting Steve to join him.
"Back home?" It's not supposed to sound like a question, but some of his reluctance to leave seeps into it anyway. He doesn't want to go home to his empty house and bed, afraid to close his eyes in case the nightmares come back.
"Look, you don't have to, of course, but if you want, you can stay and tell me what brought you here in the middle of the night. Or not. We could just sit here in silence, totally fine with me."
Steve snorts, because even though this is the first time he's had a conversation with Eddie, he can already tell that silence doesn't come easy to him.
"If you're sure," he repeats Eddie's words back to him as he makes his way over to him.
"I'm sure," Eddie says firmly, wrapping the blanket around Steve as soon as he sits down next to him.
Many things surprised Steve that night, but most of all how comfortable the silence between him and Eddie had felt as they watched the stars until they gave way to the rising sun.
Tumblr media
They never talked about that night again, the polite nods in the halls all the acknowledgment they allowed for what had happened.
But when Steve walks across the stage to receive his diploma in 1985, he notices Eddie's absence and his heart aches for him. He had been looking forward to seeing Eddie walk across the stage next to him, to give him a smile, a wink. Maybe even ask him out for a celebratory beer, if he's being completely honest with himself.
The sad truth is: Steve had no one to spend his graduation with, no girlfriend, no friends, just a 13-year-old know-it-all whose bedtime didn't really allow for any kind of grown-up celebration. Eddie was his only hope of not being alone tonight.
That's probably why he's heading out to the quarry again that night, bat and blanket in tow.
It's a shot in the dark, and at the same time it's not. Because there Eddie is, sitting on the edge again, small and defeated, and just as alone as Steve. Without a word, Steve joins him on the ground and wraps the blanket around them both.
"I'm sorry."
Eddie's warm weight settles against him. "Me too." Silence falls between them, and Steve thinks that's all they'll say, but then Eddie nudges his shoulder with his own and says, "I'm sorry, too. About Wheeler."
"Me too."
Steve thinks that even if he's not a poet, there's something symbolic in the way they both watch the sun rise again over the quarry.
Tumblr media
The next time he wrapped the blanket around Eddie, it was again in the middle of the night. Only this time, Eddie is unconscious in the back of his car while Steve races to the hospital, praying to any God who will listen that this will not be the last time.

It isn't. Not by a long shot. Getting the blood out is not easy, but with Joyce's help he manages. The blanket is there when physical therapy is especially grueling, when they both sit on the porch of Eddie's new trailer, Steve holding Eddie under the blanket's protective cover.
It's there when Steve moves in with the Munsons and gets a special place on Eddie's bed, though they never make love on it. The blood was hard enough to get out, and the material doesn't look like it can take much more deep cleaning.
They take it with them when they move to their apartment in Chicago, and it's there for every bad day either of them has.
Their blanket finds its final purpose, however, with the arrival of their daughter, April. From the day their little bundle of joy moves in with them, she sleeps wrapped in the foundation of Steve and Eddie's love.
Steve may not be a poet, that's Eddie's job, but he appreciates the symbolism all the same.

"I'm Fine."
Warnings: captivity, torture, restraints, blood, bloody nose, bruises, rescue
Caretaker quickly made their way through the abandoned warehouse. Whumper had said that they taken Whumpee here. That they tortured Whumpee here. And that they left Whumpee to die here.
Caretaker prayed they weren't too late.
"Whumpee?" Caretaker called, hoping beyond hope that Whumpee could hear them. No sound came. "Come on, Whumpee. I'm here. I'm here. Please, say something."
Caretaker rounded the corner and gave a gasp. "Whumpee!"
Whumpee was slumped over in the chair they were bound to. Blood coated their shirt, parts of the chair, and had dripped onto the floor in places. Whumpee moaned at the sound of Caretaker rushing forward.
"Whumpee! Say something. Talk to me, Whumpee."
"Caretakerrrr," Whumpee croaked. They lifted their head weakly and blinked up at Caretaker. Their face was swollen and bruised, blood dripping in a steady stream from their nose. "'m finnnnnne."
"You are definitely not fine. But I'm here. I've got you. Let's get you out of here."
Whumpee nodded and let their head drop. "'ump'r?"
"Handled." Caretaker quickly began to saw through the thick coils of rope at Whumpee's ankles. "I'm sorry it took me so long to find you, Whumpee."
"'s'kay," Whumpee's voice was barely audible.
Caretaker looked up at Whumpee. Whumpee's face was ghostly pale, and they blinked slowly, their eyes beginning to roll back as they stared down at Caretaker. "None of that, Whumpee," Caretaker tapped Whumpee's cheek as they rose up and began to saw at the ropes on Whumpee's wrists. "None of that. You stay awake and with me, you here? Whumpee!"
"'m 'wakkkkke," Whumpee hissed as they gritted their teeth, fighting unconsciousness. "So.....so tireddddd."
"I know you are, Whumpee. But you have to stay awake. You have to stay awake until I can get you to help. Ok?"
Whumpee nodded, as they swallowed hard. "Stay'ng."

Dear Mx Peaceshire, thank you for putting out so much quality content of an OT3 that not only made me go from “I don’t know how this could work in a way that I like” to “Oh so THIS is how this could work in a way that I like” but also for inspiring me to write Buggy just about 25 percent more whiny and pathetic than I already did before. I only post my stuff in a very small circle for me and some of my designated weirdo friends (affectionate), but I still was kind of debating with myself wether or not to push my characterization in that direction, but honestly making him even more of a bastardly sniffling coward just helped me find a characterization of him I really like to write and for that , sincerely, thank you,
…. Also thank you for consistently writing and drawin the hottest fucking smut for this OT3 that has me down so bad that upon seeing the newest episode I actually had some sort of perverted Pavlovian response like “Oh yes and after that they are gonna fuck him up nasty style.” Even though logically I am aware that Toei will not show us Buggy getting fucked up by Mihawk and Crocodile nasty style in any capacity on screen.
keep on rocking, you're awesome
- sincerely, an admiring, if sexually confused, fan of your work

Eddie wakes up feeling cold.
He always does these days. Since he almost died in the Upside Down it’s like the coolness from that place burrowed deep inside him and even now, two weeks later, he still can’t shake it off.
It doesn’t help that he’s still stuck in this room while he recovers. There’s an iciness to this place too- this secret government hospital. It’s not just the place with its gray and empty walls, but the people who work there too. The doctors, the nurses, and the government agents who are constantly walking into his room all treat him with the same indifference and apathy, and Eddie is used to people being hateful and mean, but this treatment is far worse.
The only time he ever feels warm is when someone comes to visit him, his uncle, or one of his new friends. But even then, that warmth doesn’t last long once they leave and he goes back to being cold.
With a sigh, Eddie wraps the flimsy hospital sheet around himself and rolls over on the bed, careful not to jostle the stitches covering his sides too much.
He lets out a soft gasp when he sees someone sitting on the chair next to his bed.
“Steve?” Eddie has to ask because he’s not completely sure that he’s not dreaming. Yes, Steve Harrington somehow ended up being part of that group of new friends, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t surprise Eddie every time.
Steve looks up from the book he’s reading- The Hobbit, which does little to convince Eddie that he isn’t imagining this- and smiles.
“Hey, you’re awake.”
“Am I? Because King Steve Harrington reading Tolkien next to my bed feels like something that would only happen in my dreams,” Eddie says, cringing a little at the meaning behind his words, hoping that Steve doesn’t read too much into what he said.
If Steve does, he doesn’t show it, simply chuckling softly. “Someone left it here for you. Think it was Henderson. It was either reading this or watching you sleep, and that one felt a bit creepy.”
Eddie snorts, gesturing at the worn-out cover of the book. “What do you think?”
Steve shrugs. “It’s not bad, but there are too many names, man. It’s confusing.”
“Fair enough.”
“How are you feeling?” Steve asks, putting the book back on the bedside table.
Eddie makes a face. “Like my body is being held together by stitches and prayers,” he says. A displeased frown appears between Steve’s eyebrows. “But they’ve got me on some powerful drugs here, so I can’t complain.”
The pain isn’t really what bothers him the most anyway, it’s the cold. Always the cold.
For a moment, Eddie thinks he said that out loud because the next thing out of Steve’s mouth is, “Do you want a blanket?”
“Hm?”
Steve gestures at Eddie on the bed. “You bundled yourself up like a burrito there and you were shivering in your sleep.”
“I thought you weren’t watching sleep, Stevie,” Eddie says with a smirk.
Steve’s cheeks turn a pretty pink shade. “I might’ve glanced at you once or twice. You snore, it’s annoying.”
With an undignified squeak, Eddie says, “I don’t snore!”
Steve laughs heartily. “So, blanket? I can ask one of the nurses for one.”
“You would have better luck asking Vecna for a hug, man” Eddie snorts. “I’ve asked, they- they never bring me one, either they forget or just don’t care.”
Steve frowns. “What? But they’re supposed to be taking care of you. All that shivering could mean you have a fever or something worse!” Eddie can’t but chuckle as he slips into Mother Hen Steve mode.
“Pretty sure it’s not. It’s- I think it has to do with the Upside Down? Like, being there and almost dying there left me feeling perpetually cold or something,” Eddie tries to explain. Steve’s eyes narrow at him. “I know it doesn’t make sense-”
But Steve shakes his head. “No, it does, the kids- they told me that when Will got possessed by the Mind Slayer or whatever his name was, he felt cold all the time so maybe it’s like, an Upside Down thing.”
Eddie blinks. “So you’re saying I could be possessed by a monster?”
Steve’s eyes widen in alarm. “No! No! No. I’m sure you’re not. I’m sure it will go away eventually.”
“If you say so.”
“Speaking of that. Going away,” Steve says, looking down at his watch and wrinkling his nose. “I should go, I have a shift.”
“Are people even renting movies after half the town got destroyed?”
“You’d be surprised,” Steve says. “I’ll come back later, okay?”
Then, he reaches for Eddie’s hand, halfway concealed by the hospital sheet, and squeezes it. Warmth spreads through Eddie at lightning speed from the touch. It lingers just long enough after Steve leaves so that Eddie can fall asleep again.
***
The next time Eddie wakes up- cold again, always cold- Steve isn’t there, but he comes back a few hours later, carrying a large bag.
“Back already?” Eddie asks when Steve closes the door. “Did you miss me that much, sweetheart?”
Steve splutters, almost dropping the bag and flushing a bright red. “Shut up.” He places the bag on Eddie’s bed and he recognizes the logo on the front.
“Did you raid Melvald’s on your way here?”
Steve bites his lip. He won’t meet Eddie’s eyes, staring down at the contents of the bag instead. “I figured if they weren’t going to give you any blankets here, I’d bring you some.”
Eddie blinks. “What?”
He doesn’t reply. Instead, he starts unpacking blankets from the bag- first a yellow fuzzy blanket, then a plaid one, and finally one with some animated cartoon characters on it that Eddie doesn’t recognize. He stares at them with his lips parted in shock.
“Uh, these were all they had, they donated a bunch of them to the shelter after, you know, everything.”
“You- brought me blankets?”
“Uh, I did, yeah.”
“You’re- something else, Harrington, did you know that?” Eddie says, shaking his head in disbelief.
“Uh, something good I hope?” Steve asks, fidgeting a little.
“Yeah,” he smiles. “Definitely.” It hits Eddie then that he’s in a lot of trouble. It was one thing when Steve was just an attractive guy, but it’s another thing to realize that he’s kind and good and cares about Eddie. This is a guy that Eddie could see himself falling in love with and that’s a problem.
But it’s a problem for another day. For now, he grabs the yellow blanket and drapes it over himself. The cold doesn’t go away entirely but it recedes, and Eddie sighs happily. When he looks at Steve, he’s got a pleased little smile on his lips.
Eddie figures that he’ll leave now since he already did what he came here to do. He doesn’t want him to, but to his surprise, Steve lingers and Eddie sees his eyes land on the book on his bedside table.
He smirks. “Admit it, Harrington, you’re hooked.”
Steve’s eyes dart to him and he shakes his head. “What? No, I’m not.”
“You are,” Eddie singsongs. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell Henderson. Under one condition.”
Steve narrows his eyes at him. “What?”
“Read to me?”
Steve blinks, clearly not expecting that, but then the corners of his mouth tug up slightly. “I can do that.”
He sits down on the chair after grabbing the book, and Eddie carefully rolls onto his side, facing Steve, and wrapping himself up like a burrito in his new fuzzy yellow blanket.
He feels real warmth for the first time since he went through that portal, and he doesn’t know if it’s because of the blanket or the sweet voice reading to him.
Or maybe it’s just Steve.

mistletoe
Tumblr media
“lando, i swear if you keep walking around in circles,” you sighed. he had found you at the holiday party and dragged you along with him, promising to take you somewhere special.
“i’m not walking in circles, y/n. i’m taking you somewhere,” he told you shaking his head.
“these shoes aren’t comfortable and we’ve made it around the house three times now,” you whined to him, your hand going to rest on his arm. your eyes drifted up to look at him, stopping when they landed on something hanging from the ceiling a few feet away. “is this what you are doing?”
lando’s eyes also went to the bunch hanging from the ceiling and mumbled, “finally you noticed.”
“you’re so corny,” you laughed, hand gripping his arm tighter. your feet hurt from him dragging you around the house and you were more than ready to sit down. “will you please stop trying to walk under the mistletoe?”
your boyfriend didn’t answer, the gears in his head turning. a look of mischief crossed his face and he said, “i will if you kiss me.”
“i would have kissed you the first time around if you just said ‘babe let’s kiss under the mistletoe’” you told him.
“i was trying to be romantic, love,” he said before he grabbed your hand and pulled you under the mistletoe. “now can i kiss you?”
“you don’t even have to ask,” you smiled up at him. his arms circled your waist, fingers every so lightly grasping your dress as he pulled you into him. your hands found the back of his head, pushing through the hair at the nape of his neck. he smiled down at you and you smiled at him. you whispered,“hi.”
“hi,” he whispered back. he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours. his fingers pressed into your skin through your dress as he deepened the kiss. his broke the kiss to sigh against your lips after you slightly pulled on the little tuft of hair that your hand was resting on.
your eyes opened and searched his with a small smirk on your face before saying, “i’m going to go sit down now.”
“c’mon love. can’t just kiss me like that and then go sit down,” he almost whined, pulling you closer to him.
you kissed his cheek and said “should’ve thought about that before you made me walk around in these uncomfortable shoes.”

tw: kidnapping
“Um,” the villain says as he flicks the living room light on. “What are you doing in my house?”
The hero scowls. “Well, it’s not like I tied myself up and put a bow on my own head, is it?”
And in one of the villain’s own dining room chairs, no less. Couldn’t he at least bring his own? “I don’t know,” the villain says slowly, to the hero’s offence, “you might have.”
“Please tell me you’re joking.”
“I don’t know! Tell me what you’re doing in my house!”
“I don’t know either!”
“There is an alarming lack of information here, [Hero].” The villain steps forward to study the knot in the ropes on the hero’s wrists—just a plain, normal knot. Nothing extravagant, nothing telling. “How do you not know?”
“Well, unfortunately, [Villain], I have spent most of this experience unconscious,” the hero snaps a little harsher than necessary. “I woke up, like, five minutes before you got here.”
The villain tuts, moving his interest onto the comically large bow on the hero’s head. This would’ve been a perfect chance to laugh at him if it wasn’t somehow happening inside the villain’s house.
The villain’s just about to hit the hero with a barrage of questions—with the inevitable “I don’t know”, of course—when answers present themselves in the form of the supervillain.
“Ah, you’re home,” they say brightly. A pair of stout glasses are in their hands, generously topped up with what is undoubtedly whiskey. “How do you like your gift?”
The villain throws a glance at the hero. He looks as lost as the villain feels. “My gift?”
“You’ve been working hard recently, [Villain].” They offer him a glass and he takes it without question. “I thought I could at least acknowledge the positive impact you've had on our little business. On me.”
The hero scoffs but they both ignore him. “What…” The question’s going to sound insane, but this situation is insane enough to warrant it, the villain thinks. “What am I meant to do with a… person?”
The supervillain hums thoughtfully, casting a glance about the room. “Well, I was looking around your place and thought you could use a maid.” They laugh at the scrunch of offence in the villain’s face. “Oh, I’m kidding, [Villain]. Maybe they could be target practice, a pet, a plaything.” A sip from their glass. “Anything your mind can conjure.”
The villain tries to look at the hero like he’s thinking on it. The hero watches him back like he’s trying to read his mind.
The supervillain takes another swig of their drink. The villain copies them before they can notice that he’s avoiding it like it’s poison. It sure tastes like it; it burns the whole way down.
“Any ideas?”
The villain taps the glass to his chin with a tut. “A dog would be nice.” The supervillain snorts a laugh, and the hero’s desperate expression turns flat with horror. “I’m sure I can find a nice collar for him.”
“A shock collar, I hope,” the supervillain suggests with a grin. “Oh, I’m so glad you like it, [Villain]. You deserved a little something for everything you’ve done for me.”
This is more than a little something, but the villain doesn’t bother correcting them. “I love it. Thank you.”
“No darling.” A smile; soft, affectionate. “Thank you.”
The supervillain gives him a pat and sets their glass down on the coffee table. “I have business to attend to. I just wanted to see your reaction.” They make for the door, though the villain’s not convinced that’s how they got in. “I’ll see you tomorrow—keep me updated on how you train them.” And with a wink and one last smirk, they disappear outside and off into the evening.
The hero’s gaze snaps to the villain the moment they’re gone. “A dog?” he demands.
The villain carefully unties the bow on his head, collecting the ribbon in a giant red bundle in his arms. “Yeah,” he says brightly. “Are you going to bolt if I untie you?”
“You called me a dog. I’ll goddamn make like one the moment that door’s open.”
The villain shrugs nonchalantly. “Binds stay on, then.”
“Wait, no—” The hero’s voice is bordering on a cry. The villain doesn’t hate the sound of it. “No, sorry, I just— you want me to be your dog.”
“I do.” The villain smiles innocently. “My guard dog.”
That gives the hero long enough pause for the villain to take his knife to some of the rope. “… Guard dog.”
“You’ll be my bodyguard.” The first wisps break free under his blade. “You’ll work for me, cover my back, whatever I need you to do.”
“You want me to… defend you?”
The villain can’t help but smirk. The ropes split, freeing the hero’s hands. “If you don’t like it, [Supervillain] had plenty of good ideas.”
“No!” It comes out faster than the hero seems to have thought it. “No, I– I can do that.”
“That’s what I like to hear.” The villain sighs contentedly, giving him a mocking pat on the head as he gets back to his feet. “Good boy.”

Summary: It’s Christmas time in the cave, and the Lost Boys mate is making sure that nothing ruins it for Laddie. Nothing and no one.
Tumblr media
Christmas in California. There is truly nothing like it. White snowy landscapes were traded in favor of warm white sandy beaches. Evergreens switched out for palm trees, and shorts and a shirt were considered instead of a winter coat. The boardwalk was as lively as ever. People looking to do their shopping and celebrate the festivities. And the infamous band of Lost Boys were there on the prowl. The boys rode up with their passengers, and scanned their eyes around. Far more locals were around this time of year, but that still did not mean that there were not plenty of tourists to feed from. It just meant they had to be a bit more careful. Star unwrapped her arms from around David and dismounted his bike, while Laddie was assisted off of Dwayne’s.
“Stay together this time. I don’t need Laddie coming to find us because you ditched him.” David called out before the duo left. Star turned back and shot him a dirty look, but said nothing as she turned her attention back to Laddie, and walked them around the boardwalk. Marko rubbed his hand across the arms that were wrapped around his waist from behind, feeling the jacket of his lover. She squeezed her arms around his once, twice, and then began to get off the bike with some assistance from the cherub faced vampire.
Paul came over quickly and stole the young lady away from Marko. Dwayne laughed at the pair as they briefly stumbled before moving to go down the boardwalk. She teased the lion haired man about messing up her makeup when he went in for a kiss, but it did not stop him from repeating the motion several times until he felt satisfied that he had gotten all the attention he deserved.
“Paul, you saw me a few minutes ago before we left.” She giggled out, as said vampire was placing many kisses to her neck and chest.
“Yeah, but Marko got to have you for the whole ride over. I missed my babe!” He exclaimed loudly, showing not a care in the world for anything around them.
“Paul, give her back!” And thus, a tug-of-war game was started between the terror twins of the pack. They kept taking the female from the other and fighting to keep her with them. This lasted for several minutes until she was suddenly taken away from the two. Her arms were secured around the naked chest of her dark haired lover. Dwayne embraced the girl and swatted away the hands of Paul and Marko as they tried to reach out. But before long, she was once again passed around. This time, into David’s waiting arms.
“Boys, behave.” He drawled at the two vampires who were still fighting nearby. They paid him no mind, yet continued to hit and grab at each other.
“Boys!” David barked, causing the two to stop in their tracks. Paul had Marko’s ponytail in his hand while Marko was wrapping him in a headlock.
“Stop fighting like children and get on with our night.” He stated slowly and calmly. The blondes released each other with a quick apology from one another. The group walked along the boardwalk once again. As they walked, the female kept switching whose arms she was in as to not have anymore instances like before. She kept watching families taking their children shopping for Christmas decorations, and kids lighting up when they saw toys they wanted Santa to bring them. It made her think about Laddie, the little brother of the pack. Her feet came to a halt as she watched little kids on the merry go round eagerly talking about Christmas Day. Dwayne came to stand behind her and rested his hands on her wait, his chin on her shoulder, and his eyes on the children.
“What’s eating your mind, princess?” He wondered quietly as he pressed a kiss to her neck from where his head was.
“Has Laddie ever had a proper Christmas?” She inquired of her lover, who was arguably the closet to the boy.
“I don’t think so. At least not with us. We’ve never really thought about it.” Dwayne murmured into his lover’s neck. She turned in his arms and wrapped her own around his neck.
“Why don’t we do that for his this year, huh? Presents, a tree, making him go to bed early so Santa can visit? He’d love it.” She gushed as the children in front of the couple continued to excitedly talk to each other.
“I’m all for it. I’m sure the others will be on board. Except we do have to deal with David.” Dwayne trailed off thinking about the bleach blonde vampire. They did not know how he would react to having a Christmas celebration but it was for Laddie; hopefully he would get on board.
Neither one brought up the subject the rest of the night. They did not bring it up when they returned to the boys, nor when Star and Laddie had eventually rejoined them. Laddie kept animatedly explaining how he actually was with Star the whole time, and they even took some spare change and rode a couple rides on the boardwalk. There was not much talking availability during the race down the beach, with everyone whooping and hollering as wind, sand, and sea water whipped around. When they made it down into the cave, Laddie had expressed an interest in going to bed early. The two women in there made sure he ate a little bit before tucking him in to bed together. When they returned, David beckoned their lover over and grabbed her hand before dragging her into his lap.
“Kitten,” he drawled out lazily, “Dwayne tells me you have something to ask of us?” His baby blue eyes pierced hers, and forced her to maintain eye contact with him. She could not look away from him even if she wanted to.
“Yes. Um, Laddie hasn’t had a proper Christmas, yeah? Not with us, or probably his original family. I just figured we could give him a good Christmas this time around. Plus it’s our first Christmas together. What do you say?” She looked out hopeful amongst the group of vampires and the one half. Dwayne looked pleased, Paul was calm kind of excited, Marko was chewing his thumb, Star was happy, and David was deep in thought. It was several minutes before anyone spoke.
“Well, is that all?” David piped up with. Her attention was brought back to the man whose lap she was stationed in. He held a small smirk on his face as he took one hand from his lover’s side and moved it to her face.
“If the kitten wants a Christmas for Laddie and us, who are we to deny her?” His words were so soft that her eyes shut without a second thought, and her face leaned deeper into the gloved hand against her face.
“Is that really the best idea?” Marko questioned from behind his hand that he was still chewing on. A pen drop could be heard throughout the cave. Turning around to face her cherub faced lover, she spoke up.
“And why would it not be a good idea to do this?” Her tone turned deadly as she stared him down. Marko sputtered and tried to come up with some sort of an answer but was unable to. She left her comfy vampire chair and made her way over to the fountain where he had found a spot to sit. Marko was still stuttering out a reply when she made it to him.
“Let me make one thing clear,” she placed her face right in front of his, “this is Laddie’s first real Christmas. This is my first Christmas with you guys. I want to see Laddie’s eyes light up when he gets presents and see that Santa has visited him. If anyone ruins that joy for that little boy o help me!” She hissed at her lover. Marko looked thoroughly scared for the first time in several decades. David began to chuckle which drew the pair’s attention to him. His hands clapped themselves together before throwing them open in a wide gesture.
“She’s in charge here, Marko. I wouldn’t question her. Kitten has claws it would seem.” He laughed, and lit a cigarette as he watched Marko nod and concede to their lover.
“You’re right. I’m sorry. I just haven’t celebrated in so long. I’m afraid I’ve forgotten how.” Marko dropped his eyes down to the floor as his thumb found its way into his teeth yet again. His lover’s delicate hand caressed his cheek, before dropping down to his chin and bringing it up to her eyes.
“It’s like riding a bike, Marko. You never truly forget.” He smiled as he took in her words. That one smile let her know; this was going to be the best Christmas ever.
~
“Will you tell me another story?” Laddie begged as he laid in his little nest in the cave.
“I’ve already told you three, little one. How many more can I tell you?” She questioned, dropping ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas down beside Laddie’s bed.
“Please! Just one more!” He pleaded, making his eyes wide.
“Oh no. Did Paul teach you puppy eyes?” She raised an eyebrow teasingly at the boy.
“Sure did!” The distant shout of said vampire made both of them chuckle. She reached down and picked up another Christmas book to read to Laddie.
“How about ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas?’” She asked, showing him the front. He nodded eagerly but quickly tried to hide a yawn that threatened to past his lips.
“Or, you can go to bed now, and Santa will visit you to give you presents?” Her request made Laddie yawn again, and snuggle himself further into the covers. She leaned over and placed a kiss on his head.
“They’ll come say goodnight. Don’t worry.” She left and quickly went into the main part of the cave where everyone was busy moving presents in under the tree. Dwayne and Star saw her leave the little nest, and quickly abandoned their presents in favor of going to say goodnight to the boy. Instead, she took over placing the last few presents from herself and the pack all around the tree.
The cave was decorated with tinsel and garland, and little stockings hung around the fountain. A big Christmas tree with pretty silver and gold decorations littered the area nearest the wall. Now, with the addition of the presents, everything looked like a proper family Christmas. Each of her boys came over to give her a kiss goodnight before returning to their perch. Dwayne was the last to come to her, and he lingered just a little bit longer than normal, but said nothing. Her boys retreated further into the cave to escape the rising sun, and she could not wait to see Laddie’s face in a couple hours.
~
Just before sunset, she was awoken. Not by anything in particular, but just the general excitement of the day ahead. She waited by the entrance of the cave for the day to end, and was pleasantly surprised when Marko was the first one to greet her as night fell.
“Good evening, Bella.” He whispered into her hair as he pulled her close in his embrace.
“Merry Christmas, Marko.” A look of realization came across his face.
“Merry Christmas. I had almost completely forgotten.” He admitted, before letting her go in favor of going into the main lobby to sit in front of the tree. Paul greeted her next, complete with his usual sloppy kisses when he did not see her or have her in his arms when they were apart for more than a minute.
“Merry Christmas babe!” Paul exclaimed loudly, and moved to go bother Marko in the lobby.
“Merry Christmas, princess.” Dwayne embraced her and pressed a soft kiss to her hair.
“Merry Christmas, Dwayne.” She leaned back and appeared her place in his arms. Just as her eyes slipped close, a hand came up to her face. Her bleach blonde vampire had finally awoken.
“Merry Christmas, David.” She wrapped one arm around her other lover while remaining in Dwayne’s arms. David slipped closer to the two in front of him.
“Laddie. Laddie, wake up little one. It’s Christmas.” The young halfling rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he sat up.
“What? what’s going on?” He was still confused this early in the evening. Everything to him was still groggy.
“Merry Christmas, Laddie.” That seemed to wake up the boy quickly because the next thing the woman knew, was his arms wrapped around her neck.
“Merry Christmas! Did Santa come?” Laddie wondered excitedly.
“Why don’t you go out there and see?” She teased, and watched the boy excitedly sprint out of the nest, to the lobby. He let out a small yell as he saw what was before him.
“Dwayne!” He ran over and hugged the man, much like he had done to his lover before.
The rest of the day was spent with presents being passed around and opened. Laddie kept getting more and more excited with every present he opened. At some point, she ended up on the couch with all four of her lovers around her as they watched Laddie play with his toys near their tree.
“I wish every Christmas could be like this.” She said wistfully, eyes somewhat glazed over as she watched Laddie. David turned to Marko who left her feet briefly and returned with his hands behind his back.
“Maybe it can.” David smiled at her as he took the object behind Marko’s back, who returned to her feet as he was previously. A bejeweled bottle sat in his grasp, and intrigued her as he took his own swig. The ornate bottle was passed around the group of vampires before it finally got back to her. She stared for a long while at it, before turning to David who never strayed his gaze from her own.
“Drink, love. Be one of us.” He whispered. The request so soft, yet so filled with hope. She knew that every Christmas would be a chance for them to revisit their childhood’s as it was also a way for Laddie to stay with his. Every Christmas from now on, was going to be that much richer.

A Bit of Accidental Magic
Day 5 of December Drabbles!
Today’s is short, I felt like writing from toddler!Harry’s POV, which is actually really difficult haha. Short descriptions, lots of raw feelings, but this was very fun to write and the point of this month is to be creative.
Today was a good day. It was a day when both his Papa and his Dada were home. They told him last night before bed that they would both be here today. That meant they could go to the park or the library or maybe even the beach though they hadn’t been to the beach in a long, long time. Dada said it was too cold every time he asked but it didn’t feel that cold to Harry.
He lay in his bed staring at the light across the room. This was the most boring part of the day. He stared and stared and finally the light turned green.
He jumped out of bed and the door in front of him opened without him even touching it. Sometimes the door did that, he didn’t know why. He walked across the hall to his parents bedroom and turned the doorknob quietly. They were both in the bed, sleeping. Grown ups spent so much time sleeping, why would they do that when today was an exciting day.
Harry crawled up the side of the bed and over his Papa’s legs then up to the pillows so that he could get under the blankets with them.
“Wake up Papa.” He whispered. “Papa, Papa, wake up.”
“James, your son is awake.” His Papa groaned.
“Go back to sleep, Harry. It’s still early.” His Dada instructed.
“Nu uh. Light’s green. That means time to wake up.” Harry argued back.
“It can’t be green, it’s…” his Dada stopped talking and rolled over. “Hare bear, it's four thirty. Your light isn’t green.”
“Uh huh. It turned green. I was looking at it and it turned green.” Harry insisted. Grown ups didn’t always believe him. It was very confusing.
“Harry, what have we said about lying?” His Papa had his mean voice on. Harry knew about lies. This wasn’t a lie.
“Not lying, it turned green!” He yelled. He felt like he was going to start crying.
“Alright, let’s go on back to your room.” His Dada got up out of bed. Now Harry did start to cry. They were supposed to go to the park or maybe see Uncle Moony and Padfoot and baby Teddy. He didn’t want to go back to bed. His Dada held his hand across the hall and when they walked through the door, Harry pointed up at his light.
“See!” He screamed through his tears.
“Shit.” Harry stopped crying. That was one of the words he wasn’t supposed to say at school but he could say at home if he used it right. “Alright, come on Harry. Let’s go lay down in the big bed for a bit.”
They crossed the hall one more time and his Dada picked him up into the bed.
“Back again?” His Papa grumbled into the pillow.
“I think Harry has been doing some magic. He changed his light to green.” Harry didn’t understand, he didn’t change his light, the light changed by itself like it always did.
“No!” His Papa lifted his head up off the pillow. He looked very happy, Harry loved when he smiled like that, especially at him. “Harry, that’s so exciting!”
Harry still didn’t understand. He hadn’t done anything but his parents seemed really, really happy about it.
“It’s still too early, so how about we all try to get a little more sleep and then what do you say to pancakes for breakfast?” His Dada offered. Harry loved pancakes, now he didn’t want to sleep at all, he wanted them now!
“With chocolate chips?” He asked.
“Absolutely.”
“But only if you sleep a little more.” His Papa added.
“Not tired.” Harry groaned.
“We know. How about you try and if you still can’t sleep when my clock shows five, zero, zero, then we can go down and make pancakes?”
“Ok.” Harry agreed reluctantly. At least he didn’t have to go back to his room. His Papa opened up his arms and Harry snuggled into them. He liked snuggles with his Papa. Maybe he would close his eyes for a little bit but not too long because he wanted pancakes and the park and maybe the beach. Yet before he knew it, he was asleep again.

I think we should just bring back Wungo Wednesday and start a fandom collective anime rewatch
#Because otherwise I can feel I won't last much longer#Because like. The last two hyperfixations of mine ended the moment I started feeling like there wasn't any new content#And two days ago in one day I started a new manga a new book and rewatching a favourite show#Whereas I hadn't started anything new in the two years ever since I got into bsd. Which makes it NOT a good sign#But the bsd anime has now ended for one month and 25 days and that's the last time the plot actually moved forward.#And if I counted right. The manga took 4 chapters (that is chapters 110-111) to adapt 6 minutes#That means it's going to take another 12 months (18 minutes left to adapt. that's 12 more chapters) to catch up with the anime#Yeah I'm not. sticking around this long with nothing new to see I'm sorry#Best case scenario I take a one year hiatus but that doesn't make it sound likely that I'll be back#And I know it's fresh news as early as this morning that author said they were introducing a new character but like.#They also said they finished writing this arc like. One year and half ago if I remember correctly?#And we still have yet to see the end of i t so...#That is to say. I'll probably be starting an anime rewatch starting next Wednesday. I've been meaning to do it for a while anyway#I don't want to leave the fandom I like the one chapter a month format#On the positive news I still have a queue of original posts that spans over ten months#And I was meaning to start the reblogs queue too in these days. So there's that#random rambles

♡ Febuwhump Day 25: Alt - Human Shield ♡
@febuwhump
Content: Blood, guns
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Thinking about Whumper, cornered, grabbing Whumpee and using them as cover as they try to retreat. Do Whumper’s assailants stop shooting? Or do they just hope that at least some of the bullets hit the correct target and accept Whumpee as collateral?
Whumper holds Whumpee tight against their chest and at first Whumpee is yelling and struggling, but as more and more gunshots ring out Whumper can feel Whumpee’s body losing its fight. They start to slump against Whumper, their screams turning into broken gasps and whimpers as a puddle of blood grows under the two.
When Whumper finally makes it to safety they whisper, “Thank you. You were very helpful,” into Whumpee’s ear before finally letting them crumble to the ground.

Board
Warnings: captivity, restraint, torture, forced to watch, drowning, water torture, waterboarding
Team Leader screamed their frustration as they tugged uselessly on their restraints. They had been trying fruitlessly to break free of the cuffs that kept them standing at the far wall. Whumper had restrained them such that they couldn't sit and that they couldn't turn away from the out of reach center of the room. Turn away from everything they saw. Turn away from Smallest Teammate.
Smallest Teammate was sputtering and gasping from the tilted over chair, their hair just brushing the dirty ground, their face obscured by the filthy towel Whumper had slapped them with. They had initially tolerated the water torture with minimal crying. But all of their hard won strength and courage failed after Whumper had relentlessly continued the torture.
Team Leader had lost track of how long Whumper had been at it with Smallest Teammate. Had lost track of how long they listened to Smallest Teammate choke and gasp around the water being poured on their face. Had lost track of everything because they couldn't break free.
"I think that'll do for now, don't you think?" Whumper said as they let Smallest Teammate's chair drop the last few inches to the floor. Smallest Teammate let out a wordless shriek as they fell. They continued to shriek and sob as Whumper left the room.
"Smallest Teammate," Team Leader called, desperately trying to catch their attention. "Smallest Teammate."
But Smallest Teammate didn't reply. They continued to sob as they lay on the floor.
"You have to help them," Team Leader said hoping that the rest of the team could hear them through the broken communicator. Their headset had long broken, but they hoped that somehow the microphone and ability to transmit hadn't been damaged. Because they needed help. They needed the team to come and help them. They needed the team to come and save Smallest Teammate before Whumper graduated from simulating drowning to actually drowning Smallest Teammate.
"Please," Team Leader begged one more time, "if you can hear me, please come help them. I need you to come help them."
