I actually love Anthony Bridgerton’s “I will humble myself before you” speech because it’s not only the perfect culmination of Anthony’s character arc throughout season 2 but also of Kate’s.

Throughout the season, we see Kate as someone who believes that she has to earn the love in her relationships. She believes that if scrapes and begs and borrows to keep her family afloat, then she can earn her place with Mary and Edwina. If she pleads with the Sheffields even at the cost of her own pride to make sure Mary and Edwina are taken care of, then she can continue to earn her family’s love. Kate is so used to sacrificing everything she has and then going even beyond that, to earn her place in her personal relationships.

And then here comes Anthony with his “You do not have to accept it or embrace it or even allow it”.

His love is freely given, without even the expectation of acknowledgment, right from the moment he confesses it to Kate. So right from the very beginning, Kate knows, and not just in an abstract sense but from his actual words, that she does not need to earn his love, it’s hers because of who she is, not because of what she can do for him.

This man that she did not concede an inch to, where she’s used to hacking away at herself in an attempt to earn love, simply loves her. He loves her even if she has nothing to give, not even an acknowledgment of his confession.

Then when he proposes all he asks of her is her presence in his life. That’s all he expects from her.

“I will humble myself before you” was the lesson Anthony’s proud ass needed to learn, but it was also the lesson Kate needed. That she’s worthy of receiving and not just to give and keep giving and give some more.

And I absolutely love that this is the beginning of her marriage. A relationship that starts with her knowing in the most absolute sense that she does not have to earn her place in it.

Was rewatching Wot season 2 finale and my god it was so beautiful . And ofc the bond between Mo and Lan is back this scene was so magical 😍♥️

The Handmaid's Tale Rewatch: 2x08

This has been in my drafts for a while. I almost deleted it with all that's happening right now, but I felt like releasing it since I spent time with this rewatch. I'm not going to continue them past this episode right now. Maybe eventually, but probably not. We'll see.

The subtle details from props in this episode are depressing af. You see another physical example of how Nick has completely lost his safe/personal space with Eden there. He doesn't even know where his cigarettes are. And when he's looking for them on the shelf by the bed, you see how all his personal things are gone (his photo with presumably Joshua is gone) and all of his books have been removed, plus the record player. It's heartbreaking to imagine him just methodically, silently taking all his personal things away from what used to be his (and June's) private space...

I love this voiceover quote from June: “Stay in Gilead long enough and it starts to eat you from the inside out. That’s one of the things they do. They force you to kill from within yourself.”

There's not much Osblaine in this episode, but we do have that amazing little hand holding moment when Nick comes to tell Serena and June that Fred wants to see them in his office. June walks by Nick on the way up, and she grabs his hand reassuringly as she passes. It's such a sweet little moment, and then Nick stays there after she's left, looking sad and tense for her.

This episode also has Nick yelling at Eden about the Jezebel's letters when she cleans his apartment and finds them. I remember there being some controversy over how he handled that, but personally, I think he had to turn to what he knew would get through to her - to be the Gilead man in charge in that moment - just so she would listen to him, because that's the language Eden speaks, sadly. And she's not showing signs of rebellion up to this point, so Nick has no reason to risk trusting her here. It would endanger the whole house, not just Nick, if Eden did read the letters and/or report them. The way Nick holds the letters in his palms at the end of the scene like they're precious gold is such a wonderful detail too.

dean's eyes immediately clocking the yarrow flowers surrounding the crossroad and noting how odd and out of place they look growing so uniform at the corners and also knowing that they're used in rituals and when sam confirms saying "summoning rituals" dean immediately puzzles together how it related back to the case figuring they must be dealing with crossroad deals

i'm sorry i'll never shut the fuck up about how BIZARRELY 911 handled buck and ali i've never seen a show approach a relationship like that before?????????? like, she shows up in 2x08 as buck's surprise date when he's trying to put himself back out there again and hey, that's great!! she seems nice and they got along during the earthquake!!! but then we hear nothing again until 2b where buck makes exactly one (1) reference to her in a conversation with maddie in 2x11, saying she's around but that she travels a lot for work, and then it's CRICKETS for another 6 episodes. like absolutely nothing. nada, zip, zilch, her name does not leave anyone's mouth until suddenly. suddenly. she reappears in 2x18 and is..........helping buck find an apartment??????? that she wants a lot of say in because apparently their relationship is that serious???????? and then she's at the hospital when buck wakes up from surgery and maddie and carla are joking that buck doesn't even realise they're in the room bc she's there and it's just like excuse me this woman is a sTRANGER???????????? the first time i watched i literally forgot he was supposed to be in a relationship. i paused in the middle of the loft scene and went to check if i'd somehow accidentally skipped an ep like???????? what was the point!!!!!!!! was it just so she could break up with him at the end of the ep????? because almost dying and having his leg amputated wasn't trauma enough????? unhinged behaviour on the writers' part honestly

Help! I'm getting massive ick from Stefan this rewatch. Him stalking Elena, wearing sunglasses in the school, asking Elena about her trauma despite knowing it already. This is going to ruin any nostalgia that allowed me to ignore all of the problems with stelena

Bonnie is just the best friend to everyone. And the only one with any sense. I will also never hate season 1 Caroline. She was so insecure but also very aware of her faults.
