I am officially giving in to my impulse to watch supernatural, but like I don't think i can do fifteen seasons, so I'm looking for advice. I watched the first couple of seasons like, years ago, but i am basically only coming back because of the deancas fandom on tumblr these past few weeks. do you have any seasons you would start with, any episodes i should watch, etc.
dkjasjldfdklsfdlk like 2 years ago i was working on a list of spn episodes that would omit a lot of the bad writing and filler. i only made it to season 7 but i’ll drop the draft under the cut and maybe i’ll finish the rest of it after the semester is over
seasons 1-3
ok so the thing about the early seasons is that spn is an evolving beast. this is part of what makes the show fascinating and compelling, but it also makes binge watching it weird as hell. it was a very different show in 2005 than it is today in 2018 (holy shit). the tone is different, the monsters are different, even the way the show LOOKS visually is very different. it’s also much less focused on an overarching plot and the episodes tend to be more self-contained, so you can safely skip many of them.
full disclosure: i actively dislike the early seasons because i think they’re dank and dark and ugly as hell, so i have little memory of the episodes i’m about to recommend to you here lmao. some people feel the exact opposite and will tell you that the only time spn was actually any good was in its first couple of seasons and it’s sucked ever since. and i will concede that the early seasons might, technically, be “good.” however, they are not valid. ahem. anyway:
season 1 - meet the winchesters
*1x01, Pilot. it sucks imo but it’s the pilot
1x09, Home. missouri mosely is in this one, but it can be skipped if you’re in a rush
1x11, Scarecrow. meg’s first appearance
1x12, Faith. this episode gets referenced often and is a significant one for The Brothers.
*1x14, Nightmare. sam has plotty visions
*1x16, Shadow. john returns and so does meg
1x17, Hell House. the tulpa episode and the first appearance of the ghostfacers. skippable, but why would you
1x18, Something Wicked. john is not a good father
the final three episodes of the season set up the plot for season 2, so they’re worth watching if you want to know what’s going on.
season 2 - a conga line of demon deals, part i
*2x01, In My Time of Dying. picks up where the final of season 1 left off. tessa’s first appearance
2x02, Everybody Loves a Clown. ellen harvelle’s first appearance
*2x05, Simon Said. sam’s powers are partially explained
2x08, Crossroad Blues. first appearance of hellhounds
*2x10, Hunted. continues sam’s psychic children arc from 2x05
2x14, Born Under a Bad Sign. feat. jo and meg. if you like jo watch 2x06
*2x15, Tall Tales. first appearance of gabriel, currently masquerading as a trickster god
the last two episodes make up a two-parter finale that pulls together the plot and sets up for season 3, so probably watch those
season 3 - a conga line of demon deals, part ii
*3x01, The Magnificent Seven. who let the demons out? (woof woof)
*3x02, The Kids Are Alright. first appearance of lisa braeden and ruby
3x04, Sin City. ruby antics; the colt is introduced
*3x09, Malleus Maleficarum. the ruby backstory episode
3x10, Dream a Little Dream of Me. the bobby backstory episode. if you like bela, watch 3x03 and 3x06 too, and make sure to hit up 3x15
*3x11, Mystery Spot. gabriel returns to torment the winchesters. simultaneously one of the funniest and most brutal episodes of spn, has been HEAVILY memed, definitely watch this one
3x12, Jus in Bello. bela is there, ruby is there. if you like henrikson, go back and watch 2x12 and 2x19
3x13, Ghostfacers. gay love can pierce through the veil of death and save the day
*3x16, No Rest for the Wicked. it’s the finale, duh
seasons 4-5
seasons 4 and 5 are when shit starts getting cosmic, with the show actively working towards an endgame. more episodes are tying into the plot as opposed to being stand alone monster-of-the-week. but the most important thing is that castiel is finally, finally gonna grace your screen
season 4 - gay love can pierce through the veil of death and save the day, part i
*4x01, Lazarus Rising. pamela barnes’ first appearance. cas walks in lookin like a bird of paradise
4x02, Are You There, God? It's Me, Dean Winchester. cas crashes dean’s dreams
*4x03, In the Beginning. a time travel episode; mary and john’s backstory
4x06, Yellow Fever. dean catches ghost flu and it gives him anxiety
*4x07, It's The Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester. uriel appears, calls humans “mud monkeys,” plans to smite whole town
4x08, Wishful Thinking. the one with the teddy bear. skippable, i included it for the memes
*4x09, I Know What You Did Last Summer. anna appears
*4x10, Heaven and Hell. the angel drama from last episode continues
4x14, Sex and Violence. the one where dean is manipulated by a male siren. can be skipped but it’s insane so why would you
*4x15, Death Takes a Holiday. tessa and pamela return
*4x16, On The Head of a Pin. dean’s hell trauma episode. cas takes a step towards rebellion. definitely recommend watching this one, but big TW for torture
4x17, It’s a Terrible Life. the one where dean drinks health shakes
*4x18, The Monster at the End of This Book. the chuck episode
yeah, you’re gonna wanna watch the whole rest of the season, basically. it’s all relevant and for the most part pretty engaging
season 5 - team free will
*5x01, Sympathy for the Devil. cas’s first death, but far from his last. chuck returns and becky rosen the wincest shipper (yes, really) debuts
*5x02, Good God, Y’all. cas searches for god, the harvelles return
*5x03, Free To Be You and Me. funny and sweet, with cas and dean both showing their softer sides, destiel stans do NOT skip this one
*5x04, The End. absolutely depressing as fuck but you gotta. also, pink satiny panties
5x08, Changing Channels. the one with dr sexy. gabriel returns. as funny as mystery spot but less brutal, 10/10 do recommend
5x09, The Real Ghostbusters. the one where they go to a spn fan convention
*5x10, Abandon All Hope... crowley’s first appearance
*5x13, The Song Remains the Same. another time travel episode. anna breaks bad
5x14, My Bloody Valentine. equal parts goofs and tremendous gore, feat. naked cupid and a horseman of the apocalypse
*5x15, Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid. jody’s debut episode
5x17, 99 Problems. the whore of babylon and a drunk cas. lisa reappears
*5x18, Point of No Return. “i gave everything for you.”
*5x19, Hammer of the Gods. lucifer comes for the pagan gods, gabriel “dies”
*5x21, Two Minutes to Midnight. the conga line of demon deals marches on
*5x22, Swan Song. the apocalypse
seasons 6-7
the apocalypse has been averted, but the ever-present threat of cancellation hasn’t. spn attempts to find a new path after the conclusion of the apocalypse arc, with mixed results. personally i’m just glad the sets are properly lit now
season 6 - a burning ring of fire
there’s some shit with like.... the brothers’ grandpa in this season that basically doesn’t matter and is never mentioned again so just don’t worry about it
*6x01, Exile on Main Street. sets up the season, so you should probably watch
6x02, Two and a Half Men. the bros take care of a baby
*6x03, The Third Man. cas returns, we meet balthazar
6x04, Weekend at Bobby’s. not essential but a good episode that focuses almost entirely on bobby
6x07, Family Matters. watch to find out what the heck is going on with sam
*6x10, Caged Heat. meg is back and she’s hitting on cas
*6x11, Appointment in Samarra. ooooooooooo death
*6x12, Like a Virgin. introduces eve
6x15, The French Mistake. the one where they go to our universe and spn is just a television show. on par with mystery spot and changing channels, do recommend
*6x17, My Heart Will Go On. cas breaks all the rules
*6x19, Mommy Dearest. a plotty episode about eve and her diabolical schemes
*6x20, The Man Who Would Be King. “we can fix this, cas” “dean, it’s not broken!”
6x21, Let It Bleed. the dean/lisa subplot comes to an end
*6x22, The Man Who Knew Too Much. the one where cas becomes god
season 7 - gay love can pierce through the veil of death and save the day, part ii
*7x01, Meet the New Boss. cas fucks up big time
*7x02, Hello Cruel World. sera gamble fucks up big time. also, jody is back
7x04, Defending Your Life. watch if you miss jo
*7x09, How to Win Friends and Influence Monsters. the one where the leviathans are capitalism
7x10, Death’s Door. the one where bobby dies but won’t move on
7x11, Adventures in Babysitting. sam meets krissy chambers. skippable, but in this house we love & support krissy chambers
7x15, Repo Man. this one is technically skippable but it goes so hard and the twist is so fucked up i recommend it anyway
*7x17, The Born-Again Identity. cas returns to save the show from cancellation yet again. i actually kind of hate this episode lol but there are reasons why it sucks--the backstage antics behind it are insane and some... Things... were cut. i recommend reading what this post has to say about it
7x18, Party On, Garth. absolutely not required viewing but nice if you need some comic relief in this shitstorm of a season
7x20, The Girl With The Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo. charlie bradbury’s first episode!
*7x21, Reading is Fundamental, Kevin’s first episode. also features “crazy!cas,” a concept which is about as horrendously executed as you might imagine. just grin and bear it, it does get better
the final two episodes wrap up the season and set up season 8, so do watch them

Robin Hood episode ranking part 5 (10-1)
Finally, the top 10 of my Robin Hood episode ranking. The previous parts can be found here [link]. If you’ve enjoyed and/or hated my commentary or want to chime in with your own opinion, feel free to comment or send me an ask. So here it is, the top 10:
10. 3x4 – Sins of the Father
Watch 1x6 and then this one right after and tell me these aren’t the same episode. I fought so hard to get this episode to the top 10. At first I was shocked to find an episode in season 3 that I enjoyed this much, but here we are. This episode has the fun feeling of adventure that a lot of season 2 has. I didn’t remember much from this episode before my rewatch, and I was pleasantly surprised. Kate had a lot of potential at this point, and I don’t have much to complain about her besides her terrible braid. Tuck was a great therapist, and I enjoyed his scene with Edmund. The reason why I think this episode is a better version of 1x6 is because of the story of the guest characters. The biggest negative thing in this episode is the Much-Kate-Allan love triangle. But aside from that, I truly enjoyed this episode, and I don’t care what anyone thinks, this belongs in my top 10.
 9. 2x7 – Show Me The Money
Marian finding out about her father’s death is one of the saddest things in the whole series. Allan and Robin’s fight is also amazing. Those two things are the highlights of this episode, and together with everything else in this episode they make this a great and fun adventure. Allan works so well as a bad guy, and it’s almost a shame he didn’t get to do this longer. I don’t have a lot to say about this episode other than that I really like it.
 8. 1x4 – Parent Hood
In this episode we see for the first time someone dying for Robin. The episode is just very solid, and I originally had this on the number 5 spot on this list. The scene with Roy and his mother is heartbreaking. In this episode the Sheriff is finally becoming the unapologetic villain I love. I wish the fact that Gisborne had a bastard child he almost got killed had been brought up later on. Overall, this episode has always been one of my favorites, and it is the first one from season 1 I included in my rewatch.
 7. 2x11 – Treasure of the Nation
I loved Prince John, so of course I’m going to love his mother. The queen is a delightful guest character, and she steals any scene she’s in. The real reason why this episode is this high on the list is Marian’s plotline. I love her and Allan’s interactions in this episode, and it’s great to get the Nightwatchman back after such a long time. It’s a shame that she had to give that role up, because as I said earlier, this is where a part of her character died. This episode also inspired us to have a conversation about how everyone would act like in an escape room, so it gets a few points for that.
 6. 2x10 – Walkabout
I want to watch a play that is written, directed, and acted by the Sheriff. He is so wonderfully dramatic in this. Unlike in the season 3 finale, in this episode the idea of Nottingham being threatened is executed a lot better. I like how Allan tries to keep every option open for himself. The scene where Much finds out about Robin and Marian’s engagement is so sweet and touching. (In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I love Much and want happiness for him.) This episode also highlights well the differences between how each of the characters approach their cause. It’s obvious that John just wants to do good, but he is unable to view the larger picture. This episode has the right amount of tension, and with a little bit of tweaking, it could have been made into a two-part season finale.
 5. 1x7 – Brothers in Arms
When we were watching this episode, my friend was so tired that after the episode finished, I had to answer the question “Wait, was one of them Allan’s brother?”. This episode is the first one where the heroes truly fail, and even though they manage to just save Marian, she still ends up engaged to Gisborne. The scene with Allan and Djaq (and Will, because even though he doesn’t speak, he’s there, and it says a lot about their dynamic) is sweet, and it adds a lot to her character. The necklace storyline is intense and keeps the story interesting until the very end. I had not expected this to end up being the best episode of season 1, but then again, there were many surprises when I was making this list.
 4. 2x12 – A Good Day to Die
I love this episode. It’s rare to get an episode where the characters just sit down and talk about their feelings. Allan has his small crisis and ends up switching sides. It’s also great to once more see someone punch him in the face. I love the scene where the Sheriff is practicing his speech like any good villain. Will and Djaq are cute, even if their scene is very cheesy. I wish they had gotten together a few episodes earlier or stuck around for season 3, so that we could have seen more of them together and how it affects the rest of the gang. The highlight of this episode, however, is Much’s speech. The line “just because I love you doesn’t mean I can’t hate you too” is one of my favorite lines in the whole series. It’s a shame that Much gets sidelined in season 3. The characters have to face each other and themselves, and it makes this episode stand out.
 3. 2x9 – Lardner’s Ring
I love this episode. It’s the best fun adventure episode this series has to offer. The Fool is a wonderful guest character. Where did he come from? What are his motives? It doesn’t matter, he’s here for comedy and chaos. He’s living my ideal life. Robin’s proposal is very in-character and sweet. There’s so much comedy in this episode, but it doesn’t overshadow the more serious scenes. This episode provided us with a great and frequently used “I hope you’re enjoying it, Allan. I couldn’t live with myself if I were you” WhatsApp-sticker (the line may not be completely accurate since I don’t remember how it goes in English). This episode has everything I could want from a Robin Hood -episode. The only reason why it is not on the first or second place is that there are two episodes that are even better.
 2. 2x5 – Ducking and Diving
No placement in this list was as difficult to determine as deciding between the first and second place. After a very long conversation and going back and forth with it many times, this is the end result. Ducking and Diving is a perfect episode. Trying to find the spy is like a round of Among Us. Allan’s conversation with Djaq and final confrontation with Robin are amazing scenes. Robin’s plan of making it seem like the spy is Will confused me back when I first watched the episode, but looking at it now, it’s one of Robin’s better plans. Matilda is also one of the greatest guest characters this show has, I would watch a whole show about just her life. Everything in this episode ties together nicely, and the plot works both in the context of this episode and for the whole series.
 1. 2x4 – Angel of Death
If I could only show one episode of this show to someone in order to convince them to watch the entire series, I would show them Angel of Death. And it is exactly what I did when we started this very chaotic viewing (and rewatch for me). This episode has everything. The plot is amazing, and the characters work well. Joseph is a good character. He reminds me of an academic who is really passionate about one thing in his field, only to find out someone has done research on his thesis topic and disproved his whole theory. I like that John is the one to come up with the cure for the poison. But really, Will is the character that shines in this episode. He didn’t get an episode for himself in season 1, so it’s good to see it happen here. He flips completely after seeing his father die, and even though Luke doesn’t get a lot of time in this episode, the relationship between the brothers is portrayed well. Allan’s betrayal also gets a body count, which sets up him having to be unmasked in the following episode. On top of all this, the sheriff is just plain evil, which is fun to watch. This episode is just perfect, and at this point I’ve seen it at least three times in the past few months, and I would still watch it again.
So there we go, the full ranking of all RH episodes. This rewatch was my favorite so far, because I got to watch the show with someone who had never seen it before. I’d like to thank anyone who read this 6000-word essay on a show that ended well over a decade ago. You didn’t need to, but you did anyway.

hello there, i have a question for you and well to your followers if they want to reply there, do you think as a christian is wrong to watch lucifer? cause honestly i didn't see it that way until a friend tell me it was wrong and now i don't know if i should watch s4 or not, it make me feel a little guilty idk, what do you think? im sorry if i bother or if this seem stupid i'm 15 and i go to a catholic school so haha i still need a lot to learn i guess
The short answer? No.
Never feel like your faith-based questions are stupid. They’re important questions that you actually need to have. As you get older, your relationship to God will start to change and it’s important to get answers now so your faith can still support you in the future.
I haven’t practiced my faith in a long time, but I still consider myself Christian so from one Christian to another, here’s my long answer: never feel guilty about watching a show like Lucifer. The Bible preaches forgiveness of our sins, redemption for our most wretched, and benevolent love for ourselves and others. All of these attributes are in Lucifer. At its core, Lucifer is a show about redemption and salvation. The Devil, evil incarnate, wants to become a better man. I don’t think God would frown upon anyone trying to make positive changes, even if that person is the Devil himself.
If you’re feeling guilty because you’re watching a show where they paint the Devil in a flattering light, just remember that half of the time, Lucifer is depicted in the worst light possible. He may be our protagonist/anti-hero, but he is in no way the audience’s role model. Multiple characters including Dan, Chloe, and Ella have all viewed Lucifer’s most “desirable” traits (smoking, alcoholism, drug use, hedonism to the point of isolation and avoidance, and even his wealth) as harmful at one point or another. Lucifer constantly messes up and constantly says the wrong thing. However, like I said before, that doesn’t make him irredeemable. He’s always stressing things like consent (see 1x10) and always want to make sure other people are cared for before he indulges. Lucifer is always honest and, while he enjoys punishment from time to time, does not like seeing innocent people hurt. In fact, Lucifer almost kills himself grieving for Uriel’s murder in 2x05 and 2x06.
On that note, the show promotes good mental health and seeking help (whether it’s faith-based or therapy-based) when you find yourself in a situation you can’t pull yourself out of. The show wants you to talk about the things it’s difficult to talk about. Lucifer hits on self-hatred, guilt, and the importance of forgiving yourself. All of these things, while unpleasant, are healthy things to discuss in order to help us reach spiritual satisfaction.
Additionally, Lucifer as a show has some good role models for Christians. Ella is a very faith-driven character without pushing her beliefs onto others, as well as accepting others’ viewpoints. In 1x09 we see Father Frank, another very positive Christian figure. He accepts Lucifer and even views him as worthy of forgiveness in the eyes of God. Even God himself is never really depicted as “bad” per-say. Lucifer hurls a few insults here and there, but that is not reflective of the show itself.
I say watch season 4 and take notes. I honestly think every Christian should watch Lucifer. It’s probably the most Christian show out there right now. It has all of Christianity’s main beliefs and it presents them in a way that’s very easy to comprehend. It’s a show that teaches us love and compassion (see 1x12, 2x07, 2x12) and it’s also a show that teaches us that everyone deserves a chance at redemption in their current life and the afterlife.

BSG 2x12 Resurrection Ship part 2 rewatch
The conclusion of the Pegasus arc gives us an interesting twist.
the episode begins with a man floating in water, at first I thought it’s one of Baltar’s fantasies, then it’s revealed that it’s Apollo, imagining himself in water when he’s actually floating in space. Apollo had a fairly minor role in this arc so far.
48 hours earlier he learns about Kara’s mission to assassinate Cain. He doesn’t like it, but he’s going to be her backup. He says that trust is important and the only thing that separates people from Cylons... but then there is zero trust between Galactica and Pegasus.
Kara gets to know Cain from a different side. Cain is mentoring her, but her message is that hard, terrible decisions have to be made in order to save more lives and you can’t flinch or hesitate. It sounds oddly as if she’s encouraging Kara who is tasked with killing her.
Tyrol and Helo are attacked in their cell by those annoying guys that told them about raping Cylons. Those guys now want revenge for Thorne. But Fisk puts a stop to it. It looks like it’s about discipline, but he lets those two get off with only a warning. However, he only doesn’t allow torture of human prisoners. “You can’t rape a machine.” He’s practicing Pegasus brand of morality.
Lee questions his father about this decision to assassinate Cain. And that’s when he learns that it was suggested by Roslin. That‘s a serious blow to his morale. Both of his authority figures and role models, people he respects and admires, are plotting to assassinate their opposition. This episode marks a paradigm shift in Lee’s life. Later, after Blackbird collides with raider and Lee got ejected, he has the first row sit to the battle, but he’s slowly dying from the loss of air... as if he’s sinking under the waves. He doesn’t even respond to Dualla’s hails. He’s picked by Racetrack and resuscitated, but he lost something. He confesses to Kara (and eavesdropping Dee) that he didn’t want to come back alive. He’s beating himself up that he broke his promise and didn’t watch her back, but on the other hand... dying was the only way for him at that time to avoid participating in the assassination.
What’s genius about this episode is that the battle isn’t the point, instead eveyone waits with bated breath for what comes after. Cylons are destroyed according to the plan. And Kara goes to Cain, all sweaty, nervous and fingering her gun. Fisk is similarly shifty on Galactica’s bridge, eying nervously the marines. They’re both in the same situation - they don’t want to kill Cain/Adama, but they have to because of their loyalty to the other.
Kara’s relief when Adama calls the assassination off is palpable. After Lee questioned him, he had some doubts and talked to Sharon. She remined him of his own speech from miniseries and he finally got his answer to why Cylons attacked. Because they decided that humanity isn’t worth of survival. So he chooses principles over brutal pragmatism.
Then Cain calls Fisk and doesn’t give him the code words. She called off her plan to get rid of Adama! And that’s when I knew for sure that she knew about Kara’s mission. And instead of exploiting Adama’s weakness, she did the honourable thing too. Maybe she’s not so bad after all. Maybe she can change her ways, develop trust with Adama and work with him and the Fleet.
But we will never know how things would have gone with Cain because she still got killed.
Gaius and Gina are amazing together in this episode. Gaius choosing the real Six, Gina, over Head Six. Gaius comforting her, telling her a story about sports that Head Six had told him.
Gina knew exactly when the Resurrection Ship was destroyed and she couldn’t download anymore. So, Cylons do have some kind of wi-fi and Sharon might have lied about that.
Gina’s wish is to die, but “suicide is a sin”, so she wants Gaius to do the deed. But he can’t do that, he can’t kill Six. So instead he sets her on the path of “justice” which looks very much like revenge. Btw, incredible that Gaius came so far that he confesses his love to Six. He’s not the same man that asked Caprica Six if she was crazy when she told him she loved him back then.
In the end, Cain pays with her life for Gina’s torture. Cain treated her like a thing, denied her personhood to make herself feel justified, but the truth is she wanted Gina to suffer. However, a real machine can’t feel pain. If Gina was really just an unfeeling machine, nothing Cain and her men did would have hurt her. She wouldn’t have cared about justice or revenge. Gina may not be human, but she’s a person.
What I love about this episode, is again, that it’s not a simple “heroes take down the evil bitch because that’s the right thing to do.” It’s not as simple as that. Instead we see Cain’s side of the story, mostly through Kara’s perspective. Her words at Cain’s funeral really hit hard. Cain had found herself in completely different circumstances than Galactica after the attack. And she did terrible things to survive, to gather supplies and continue the fight. No hope, no relief. Cain didn’t have her own Roslin to change her mind about saving civilians. She didn’t have Boomer saving the ship again and again to show her a different side of Cylons. Was she so different from Adama really? What would he have done in her place?
(I can’t believe I’m starting to understand Cain, one of my most hated characters on this show. This is how well-written she is.)
As a result, a shadow is cast over our heroes. They’re not so heroic, as they were willing to commit murder because of a perceived threat. They were so close to crossing that line. Only luck saved them.
Makes me think that Adar’s government must have ordered some assassinations too, if Roslin was so cool with proposing it.
Alright, Helo’s reunion with Sharon while Tyrol silently exits the stage was nicely done.
Finally Adama gets that promotion and I can call him Dadmiral! Lol
Adama and Roslin kill me with feels. Finally they kiss and it’s so sweet, but she’s dying and there’s nothing that can be done :(

Sin & Sinner dialogues.
An addition to my Angel/Jesus/Devil sub-themes that fall under my religious theme. Sub-connects to my apple theme as well - the “snake in the grass.” "Evil" and "bad" dialogues would make this post even longer than I want it to be. The rabbits and Christmas also falls under my religious theme of birth, death, and resurrection. I've sub-connected the rabbits to my magic theme as well. I believe religion is the biggest theme in the show - given all its sub-themes.
1x16-
Tanida: In feudal Japan, one warrior’s transgression against another was measured by the code of tn bushido. For your sins against me, I require ritual seppuku.
1x20-
Red: No, thank you. Ah. Smells like decadence and vice.
2x4-
Liz: Like the Sins of the Father. That it?
2x18-
Red: Pride. The subtlest and yet most deadly of the seven sins. Like the Director, he couldn’t be saved.
2x22-
Red: I’m a sin eater. I absorb the misdeeds of others, darkening my soul to keep theirs pure. That is what I’m capable of. Liz: What sin of mine could you possibly have absorbed?
Liz: You’re my sin eater.
3x6-
The Director: There’s a passage. Exodus 20:5-6. “For I, the Lord Thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquities of the fathers on the children.”
3x9-
Red: He’s agreed to confess his sins to the US government, including the ones he committed on behalf of the Cabal to frame Agent Keen.
3x12-
Red: The Holy Vehm - a vigilante group that operated in the Germanic regions of Europe during the Middle Ages. The Vehmic Court was sanctioned by the Emperor and directed by the Archbishop to punish sinners. Liz: What sins did these two commit?
Man in confessional: Father, forgive me, for I have sinned. It’s been a week since my last confession. Since that time, I have killed two men.
Harris: Sooner or later, we all pay for our sins.
Ressler: Yes. By people who thought he had uh, sinned. It might help us find his killer if we knew whether that was true or not. Was it?
Ressler: Well, we got the case files that you kept on your victims. You should tell us about them, these sinners.
Red:You know what my problem with religion is? Man. Like anything that has a potential to be beautiful, man will turn it into something ugly. For every saint, there are two million sinners. Cardinal: Which are you? Red: Like you, I’m a sinner - an envious one, I might add, as my transgressions are not nearly as divine as the ones you’ve been guilty of during the years you’ve been associated with the Vatican Bank.
Red: No sin in murder or money laundering, so long as it serves our Father here on Earth or you.
3x19-
Red: And to harm him would be to harm her. A mortal sin. Her mother is gone. The father is what she has left in the world.
4x19-
Kate: We’re way past that point, dearie. You can’t change what you’ve done, and you can’t stop what’s coming. Your own sins, Raymond. You did this to yourself.
4x20-
Red: That must’ve been dissatisfying for you. You’re a glutton for vengeance. I understand. There’s almost nothing as satisfying as revenge, wanting someone to hurt because you hurt. An eye for an eye. Feels like God’s work, until you realize there is no God and you’ve committed sins for which there is no absolution.
5x4-
Red: That a sinner can also be a saint.
5x10-
Red: Sins should be buried like the dead. Not that they may be forgotten, but that we may remember them and find our way forward nonetheless.
5x12-
Expert: Some perceived sin. Maybe he’s saying just having faith isn’t enough. You have to live that faith every day, and that requires great discipline.
Wattles: The burning of the fallible human form, cleansing those that may yet achieve salvation, giving the irredeemable sinner their first foretaste of Hell. And, for the observer, the chance to confront one’s own transgressions.
Wattles: To redemption and purity, and I’m not afraid! Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned!
5x14-
Dr. Fulton: Some kids run from their father’s sins. She embraces them.
5x15-
Red: The point, the essential point, is this - we’re all sinners. Hepworth: Oh. Sinning. That’s - Red: That’s the point. Lust. Gluttony. Sloth. Three of my favorites. But you’re here because of my greed. Tell me, what’s your sin, Mr. Hepworth? Hepworth: I don’t - Red: Of course you do. “For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.”
