I saw on TikTok someone saying Kuvira is the strongest metal bender, and I'd like to express how wrong I think that is.

Because, first of all, metal bending isn't a stand alone element where you wake up one day and have some outburst and bend metal. It's something (as demonstrated in Lok) you have to be trained in, and unlock for yourself. And Kuvira was one of the guards for Zhao Fu, working under Suyin. So Kuvira was either trained by Suyin, or sombody who worked under Suyin.

And Toph herself said that Lin and Suyin never really picked up metal bending. Toph, the inventor of the technique said that. And let I remind you of those equalist airships Lin took out season 1.

Toph said that wasn't shit.

The only reason Kuvira was ever able to capture or beat people, is because she had the odds stacked against them. The only reason she caught Suyin and the twins was because she had a FUCKING ARMY. The only reason she won the battle for Zhao Fu was by taking advantage of Korra's mental breakdowns.

The only reason Kuvira could do ANYTHING, was by playing dirty. Playing dirty against foes she knew wouldn't. If she was up against a foe that had no objections to playing dirty, she wouldn't be able to do shit.

If she faced Zaheer, she'd be absolutely fucking toast, and Zaheer's bending was absolute shit. Zaheer had to use a 3v1 to beat Tenzin, and Tenzin still stuck it out.

If Kuvira didn't have a fucking army, she wouldn't have half "her" feats as a villain.

Saying that she's a better metal bender than Toph is absolutely ridiculous.

You knew what you were getting yourself into when you agreed to be the Avatar's girlfriend. You knew you two would get into arguments and get mad at each other, you would worry about her on those dangerous missions you didn't accompany her on. But you also knew that you two would be able to love each other, talk for hours, go on late-night rides with Naga, and just enjoy being in one another's presence. 

It didn't matter if you two were going through a rough time or a great time, it was always hard finding time for each other but you two always seemed to manage. Lately, it's been getting worse, Korra has been tending to her Avatar duties not only in Republic City but outside of it as well. 

She wanted to make an impact on the world and not let anyone down who was counting on her, any more than she felt like she already had. So she's been working harder than normal but it was all in good spirits.

Sitting on the couch, a sigh left your mouth as you listened to the radio. Hearing the voice of the announcer as he spoke of the events that were happening during the pro-bending match. You waited in anticipation as it was the last round of the match and both teams were close to winning. 

This was the only sound that echoed throughout the sitting room, your back straightened as two people were knocked off into the water. Leaving only one person on the team standing, therefore it was 3v1. You could hear the announcer get louder so you knew it was closer to the end of the match. The excitement was bubbling up inside of you.

"He's in the last ring getting closer to the edge! AND-" The radio was immediately drowned out when you heard a knock on your door. You turned the dial on the radio, turning the volume down, and stood up. Confused about who was at the door, since you were not expecting anyone. 

Your feet walked you over to the door and you cracked it open, only to see who was standing on the other side. To your surprise it was your girlfriend, you quickly opened the door all the way and brought her into a hug. "Hey! Why didn't you tell me you were coming by?" you said with a smile on your face.

She hugged you back but stayed silent, soon you two parted and she walked inside, closing the door behind her. Your eyebrows furrowed when you looked at her. She didn't say anything, which was weird because she was quite talkative. Something was off with her "What's wrong?"

It was quiet for a while, all you could hear was the small noises of the outside world around you. It caused nerves and worry to fill your body because you didn't know what she was going to say. 

Soon she finally opened her mouth to speak. "I know I have a job as the avatar and I love doing what I do, truly but I'm just so... tired. I work so hard, every. single. day to make people happy and for the world to be a better place but no one is ever a hundred percent satisfied, no matter what I do"

A lump started to form in her throat and tears threatened to fall from her eyes "And I'm sorry because I spend so much time worrying about other people and trying to make them happy, I've barely made time for you. god, I'm such a terrible girlfriend" She brought her hand up to her hair and ran her fingers through it "I wouldn't even surprised if you wanted to break up with me"

Your eyes softened at her as you listened to her speak. You let her finish before you spoke "Korra we may not spend a lot of time with each other but we love each other and that's what matters. It's quite frankly your job to worry about everyone, you don't have to apologize for that" You moved to wipe the tears from her eyes.

"I know but you're my girlfriend and you're way more important than any of those other people may be and I rarely get the chance to show that" She sighed but you shook your head, disagreeing with her. "You show it all the time, even when we're not with each other because you're improving the world that I live in, If it wasn't for you who knows where I would be"

"I do admit, it's hard not seeing you often but we're both trying as hard as we can to make things work with our schedules so don't beat yourself up over it" You move your arms around her neck, letting your hands drape by her back. "I love you," Korra said before she placed her hands on your waist and leaned in, kissing you. 

After a few seconds, you two pulled away from each other "I love you too baby" you said and then started kissing her face repeatedly, landing one for every letter in love with you. A small smile finally appeared and she looked at you. 

"Can we go lay down?" She asked and her voice was a little low, "Of course we can" And with that, the two of you went to your bedroom. Just enjoying the fact that you were in each other's presence.

Soulfire Purgatory Day 9

(SoulGayFire)

-green team was split between red and blue, Tubbo getting first pick Fit, Bagi, Forever, Quackity, Mike, Kameto

-Fit and Bad try to make it to blue base to gear up (Fit’s armor is trashed from the egg event and both him and bad are out of food)

-before they can make it bad gets a message saying that a bounty hunter knows his location. (Every 5 mins ones chords will be given away to a person that claims a bounty at center, it lasts for 20 mins but can be reclaimed) what this means is that bad can not go back to base.

-Fit has to leave but Bagi joins, she also gets a bounty. They loot greens old base and is chased out by rioer

-Bad claims a bounty and its phil, its the chords to his base (what bad assumes because it lines up with places he had ruled out and in the direction he had left to try)

-Bad ends up in a 3v1 kills Cellbit (he was lagging I believe everyone was struggling today) Roier and Foolish have a very long chase fight, Bad finally manages to get away, but is out of food.

-Bagi makes food at the old base. She is also killed by Cellbit

-Bad was pretty exhausted from hours of running around without being able to go back to base, bagi also very crushed as she has nothing

-Bad decides to check out red base, more so for psychological warfare he found it broke there bed and ran into roier, then foolish then phillza then etoiles. It was a very long fight that was very cool, Bads armor finally broke and was killed and his corpse looted. A cold event happened after his death and all of red died save one i think.

-bad still cant go home, bagi logs off. he loots green for something to wear Tubbo logs on and gets the run down from Bad. He is determined to win despite how pitful the score is the lack of team online and the bounty on there heels

-Tubbo claims a bounty (i think etoiles?) and heads over with Bad to reds base. Tubbo is elsewhere near by but bad goes into red base to have a look around, he takes a book and two cages before is met by Etoiles, he drops the items he took but Etoiles was not having it and killed him

-Tubbo gets into a 3v1 with Etoiles, Roier, and Foolish. No kills are made he gets away but is now low on food.

-Bad makes it back to red trying to retrieve his items, this time he brought a bed and placed it near by, as he goes to claims his items roier kills him. After roier allows Bad to retrieve his items

-Tubbo decides to stand gaurd at center so that bountys could no longer be made so that bad could go to the secret base and grab supplies for the tasks

-Bad and Tubbo start to collect for tasks and are joined by Tina and Fit. They grind the butts off. Bad is kicked for time

-Tubbo gets in a 2v1 with Cellbit and Roier (cellbit is kicked for time?) roier is killed. (Roier was lagging so it was bitter sweet) Tubbo takes his armor for bad but leaves the rest

-Tubbo, Tina, and Fit collect the last materials and rush to center before cutting it very close for time. With the last turn it the score is flipped and Blue wins

Elden Ring PvP is fucking AMAZING, don't get me wrong, but god damn it, Bloodborne PvP for all it's flaws still feels much better to me. It's just so silky smooth and the flow is so satisfying. The fast healing and the pacing of the fight is just so exciting.

And invasions feel AWESOME. This is the only game we're you don't actually run away from the crowd you're fighting, you're supposed to fight all of them at once. If you're good enough, you can survive in a 3v1 face to face. It's awesome. I fucking love Bloodborne PvP. It's a shame the activity is pretty much dead these days.

More Advance Wars Reboot rambling!!

I just finished the AW2 campaign! So i have more thoughts! (Possible Spoilers below!)

-Sensei's Theme's did NOT need to SLAP that hard!!!!

-Colin's co power song slaps too.

-I also really like Flak's, tbh.

-Adder's features seem very "round" compared to how jagged his original incarnation is. I think it was so he fit in the style better, but his vibe is definitely a lil different (not that im complaining! His movements are so smooth, and that gives its own kind of appeal). His CO power animation is A Lot, haha.

-Hawk's theme feels a little weird... but i wasnt really a big fan of his theme in the first place.

-I'm sorta mixed on Jess's redesign and theme remix. She had a specific, masculine vibe i really liked in AW2 and AWDS especially, and now she has a very strong Power Lesbian feel in a different direction. Which is good! I still like it, but it's different. It feels like they decided on making her pretty, which wasnt really her thing? I think part of her appeal to me was she was pretty androgynous, and that isnt there in this design. her theme Has all the parts I like, but has some additional things that I think i just gotta get used to. 🤔

-What the heck is Sturm doing with ANOTHER special last boss theme? Geez, this game has so much music!

-I also forgot how insane Sturm's stats were in the AW2 campaign. my god, this guy.

-I'm glad they animated Hawke blowing Sturm up, lmao.

-Oooooh New design room pieces 👀 I can make the 3v1 final boss map i always dreamed of when i was 13, lmao! This is awesome~

This remake makes me insanely happy. The past week has been pretty productive cuz the Brain chemicals released from playing has been doing me good for my mood (though they are tapering off now. Good things dont last forever!)

Ultimately, i do think the Voice acting was probably the weakest part. The awkwardness i mentioned in my last post aside, It still feels very weird for Andy to be sounding like OG Ash Ketchum (Veronica Taylor), and a lot of the voices arent what I originally imagined them to be. But that's sorta expected when a game has had 20 years to kinda fester in your brain :P

I really hope they remake Dual Strike in the future, or even just had Updates/DLC that added new stuff! I honestly miss the units from Days of Ruin, cuz the Anti-tanks, gunboats, rebalanced Carriers, and bike infantry were awesome, and it'd be really neat to see how they interact with the older cast.

I still gotta go back and 100% the campaigns, buy all the characters, art, and music, and maybe do some war room maps. Lots to do still :V.

on red’s stream when he asked what the deal was with mapicc and zam, mapicc was complaining to him about how “every time i fight zam he runs away and calls subz” and that he did it again after the pangi fight and he and ro get mad when this happens and leave and oh woe to them and i’m just 💀

as far as i remember the post pangi-duel “fight” (actually just an attempted murder) is the only time zam has ever run away and called subz (who, i might add, was there for the duel and dismissed by leviathan so that they could get ro on to 3v1 murder zam). did they really expect zam to just let them execute him? like what? the only other time i can think of when zam called subz into battle (unless you count the eclipse base attack which would be stupid as fuck) was when mapicc and ro jumped him at the castle, and that time he was fighting them the entire time until subz showed up. zam has also fought mapicc (and ro) countless times this season without help from subz or anyone else. oh, and when eclipse jumped mapicc a few days before the pangi stuff guess what? he ran away and called his teammates.

mapicc also said zam had been harassing them the entire season, the audacity 💀💀💀 and he accused zam of still using dupes and other stuff as well but then the gods themselves struck red’s stream down.  

anyway just like with when he tried to convince subz and vitalasy that zam was in league with spoke, or when he tried to convince zam that he deserves everything that mapicc does to him, i can’t tell if this is what he actually believes or if it’s all just an elaborate form of gaslighting people to his side and i can only pray it’s the latter :insert infinite skull emojis:

i uhhhhhh got elden ring for free. you know. cus i didn't wanna waste £50 on a game i might not have liked. so i haven't experienced the sheer terror of the multiplayer invasions bc i can't play online and honestly i think i would have given up faster if i was constantly getting gooned by some fromsoft nolifer who picks on da little guy. sure it also means no co-op but honestly it's making me rely more on getting better so its win win tbh. also update: the ancestor spirit is so cool....

(cont. from this post) Yeah it's not always that bad but when it's bad it's real bad. For every one invasion I've experienced that's well-balanced, interesting, or otherwise just, y'know, actually a fun encounter whether I survive or not (on either side), I've experienced a half dozen others that are a complete curbstomp to where I can't imagine what's in it for the other party besides sadistic pleasure. It's just griefing, plain and simple: getting off on intentionally ruining the game for other people.

That's not to say invasions are inherently griefing, like I just said, sometimes they're a great when everyone's a good sport. But for example, I created a new low-level character the other night to help out new players in the starting areas (since all my other files have weapons too highly upgraded) and multiple times we would get invaded by the same overpowered individual at the same place. You've got these people with high-powered weapons and spells that deal severe blood loss, frostbite, scarlet rot, and other status effects that low-level players literally do not have the tools to deal with, and they only have them because they've either played through the whole game very carefully to remain in the low-level multiplayer pool despite their progress or have just had a friend give them to them. And these people just camp out in the Weeping Peninsula just to invade low-level players trying to get through Castle Morne, or whatever. It just sucks the moon clean out of the sky, especially when you're playing with someone specific and intentionally using the password system, because ultimately Elden Ring co-op is just extremely fun, and people want to have fun, and getting invaded by someone so much more powerful than yourself ruins that fun, so it's a no-brainer why the seamless co-op mod has been as well-received as it is and why it's stolen so much of the playerbase from vanilla multiplayer.

That being said, I keep going back to vanilla multiplayer, because as I've said in a previous post, the combination of nonverbal communication, character customization, and sense of spontaneity reminds me at its best of fucking around in Team Fortress 2. Much like TF2, it's a machine for memorable moments with people you'll only ever know ephemerally. On my aforementioned low-level helper file (btw his name is Hamburger, because he's a helper), I got summoned to help a very obviously brand new player with Fort Haight, funnily enough because he'd intercepted the summon sign I'd left for my husband. When we got to the top of the fort, decided to gift her my character's Reduvia dagger since I wasn't using it myself, and the host picked it up. She switched to dual wielding it with her own Reduvia immediately and started playing around with the dual-wielding moveset, and I could sense her joy and disbelief innately, and then she repeatedly crouched up and down in one of the universal video game gestures of positive emotion (since it's only teabagging if there's an enemy under you). It was amazingly cute! I probably made their whole day! And that's the kind of thing you won't ever really get in the seamless co-op mod, which is much more structured and restricted by design, but it's a shame that invasions are in such a state to where evenly matched invasions are so rare ("evenly matched" even when accounting for the power difference of a 2v1 or even 3v1 in the host's favor, and the invader retaining all of their flasks and not drawing enemy aggro).

And also yes the ancestor spirit is one of the sickest fights in the whole game. I went into it the first time too underleveled to do a lot of damage but too skilled to get hit by its attacks too much, so it was a very long and drawn-out spectacle, and with that music and the whole presentation of the arena and the fight, it truly felt meaningful.

hey. this might be silly but i kind of wanted to get a second opinion/get it off my chest. i've been reading communist theory + been an advocate for communism in my community for many years now. i frequently have "friendly debates" with my mom, who is... kinda all over the political spectrum, some kinda weird lib center situation. doesn't matter. anyway, israel has been a point of contention between us since always. i remember an argument that broke out during a road trip, which even involved my aunt and cousin too (effectively a 3v1), when i expressed that israel is america's puppet state, that israel shouldn't exist, etc. and i just find myself feeling so much *anger* with them these days, because none of my family is any longer pro-israel—but it took a genocide for them and PEOPLE LIKE THEM! to see it? it took a genocide for them and people like them to care? i was deemed a prejudiced antisemitist by my family and people like them for years, and it took barbaric violence and bombing and murder and torture for them to see it? it's not an "i told you so" kind of situation. i can't and won't gloat like that, not about this. i just feel such anger. we haven't spoken about israel in a long time, months now, but with every piece of information that comes out of gaza, i just feel so angry with them. it's beginning to impact my relationship with my family. and my mother in particular is sorry, i know she is. but is sorry enough? she and people like her and the resulting unequivocal global support for israel partly contributed to the ongoing, 75-year-long palestinian genocide. how do i forgive that?

Unfortunately, propaganda is a very effective tool, and the reaction that has been groomed, and invited for years involving condemnation of Israel is, "oh? You don't think Israel deserves to exist? Guess you're a rabid antisemite who hates Jews and wants a second Holocaust!" And it cannot necessarily be blamed fully on them, and as the recent events have shown, it has helped them to realize the actual extent of Israel's crimes. The United States has used Zionism to create a settler colonial ethnostate that will secure a permanent US presence in West Asia, however what you'd be taught in school is that we gave the Jews a homeland after the last evil antisemite was killed in Germany. Unfortunately I'm a cringe little liberation theologist, so I believe in having grace with people, even though your family did all those things, I think them seeing this with their own eyes, for all the world to see, has changed their views, and that is how growing as a person works, so I encourage you, do not stop talking about it, open their eyes to even more, show them how they've been deceived, lied to, and manipulated to support a genocidal state, and see how quickly a worldview begins to change.
