Upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Reveals Promising Performance Boost
Tumblr media
We're getting an early glimpse at the first SUPER GPU of this generation. The NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER, featuring the AD104 GPU with an impressive 7168 CUDA cores, is set to outshine its predecessor, the RTX 4070, which has 5888 cores. This upgrade translates to a substantial 22% increase in core count. Notably, the memory configuration remains consistent at 12GB GDDR6X. Preliminary insights, particularly from 3DMark benchmarks, are scheduled for release tomorrow, offering a sneak peek into the card's capabilities.
As NVIDIA prepares to lift its embargo, the focus will initially be on the standard retail price (MSRP) models. These baseline versions typically do not include factory overclocking. Our comparison includes both the RTX 4070 SUPER and the original RTX 4070, both in their Founders Edition forms.

It's important to note that the RTX 4070 SUPER has a base Total Design Power (TDP) of 220W, which can be increased to 240W in the Founders Edition. Some variants, like the MSI GAMING X SLIM, will feature a 245W TDP, allowing for higher performance through increased power capacity.
In benchmark comparisons, the RTX 4070 SUPER is approximately 7% behind the RTX 4070 Ti but shows an 18% improvement over the RTX 4070. The SUPER model generally performs between 15% to 19% better than the RTX 4070 and trails 5% to 8% behind the Ti version.
NVIDIA plans to phase out the RTX 4070 Ti model with the launch of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER next week. Meanwhile, the RTX 4070 SUPER will not replace the RTX 4070; instead, the latter will see a price adjustment to $549, reflecting recent market trends.
The RTX 4070 SUPER is slated for release on January 17. On the same day, NVIDIA will also lift the embargo on over-clocked (OC) models, which are priced above the standard MSRP. For those interested in gaming benchmarks and more detailed analyses, stay tuned for our comprehensive review roundup tomorrow, featuring extensive tests and insights from various media outlets.

RX 7800 XT Battles Nvidia’s Best with RTX 4070
Tumblr media
RX 7800 XT Battles Nvidia’s Best with RTX 4070
The processor manufacturer’s RX 7800 XT may be fighting strong rivals from Nvidia, since an online store has advertised the RTX 4070 Super in 12GB and 16GB configurations.
Similar regarding companies, Palit is prepared to produce an abundance of RTX 40 Super Series graphics cards.
Palit’s graphics processors comprising the RTX 40 The super intelligent series have been provided with glasses by Russian shop Extremecomp. even though the manufacturer’s code mentioned on the website matches the ones from Momomo’s most recent article, the GPU’s photos were not submitted to the website.
The new Palit RTX 40 Super series was mentioned in the source under the categories of Gaming Pro/Pro OC, Jetstream OC, and Dual versions. Palit was working on the 12GB and 16GB GDDR6X versions each of the RTX 4080 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super, and RTX 4070 Super predicated upon the replacement information.
The previously GPU’s fundamental performance of Palit’s RTX 40 non-super variants exactly the same that is part of the Founder’s Edition. The webpage omitted a list of the different boost clock speeds with the OC suffix.
While most models use a 192-bit memory bus, the RTX 4080 Super has a 256-bit memory bus. Unlike its non-super OC counterpart, which has an 8-pin connection, the Asus RTX 4070 Super OC Edition has a 12VHPWR connector.
The much anticipated 12V-2×6 cables for use with older or newer power supplies are already being offered by some PSU makers. As these are supposed to be more safer standards, customers of the new RTX 4070 / 4070 Ti Super may, if their current power sources qualify for the new connection, get a 12V-2×6 cable from the corresponding suppliers for peace of mind.
The non-super version of the RTX 4070 Ti is restricted to 12 GB of GDDR6X, whereas the Super version has 16GB.
There seem to be two memory options available for the RTX 4070 Super:
12GB GDDR6X and 16GB GDDR6X.
Based on its RTX 40 non-super specs, Palit’s Dual and Dual OC vary only in their boost clock speed;
The base clock is the same as the Founder’s Edition. The base frequency of the RTX 4070 Super 12GB is 40 MHz higher than that of the RTX 4070 Super 16GB, assuming that this is the same. The specs for the RTX 40 Super are more fully disclosed in the earlier leaks, but this is the first time a brand has leaked information regarding the RTX 4070 16GB GDDR6X.
Nvidia’s plan to reveal and permit evaluations of the new RTX 40 Super Series throughout January, with the products available for purchase on the designated dates. They could see both RAM configurations of the RTX 4070 Super on January, followed by its review and the lifting of the sales embargo on January, assuming the leaked timetable facts are true and unaltered.

-Master List-
words:4070
- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -
"Midoriya?"
- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -
You stood staring at each other as the other students continued to walk around you. He had gotten stronger, and taller. Yet he still had the same green mop of hair.
"Y/N. You're..aliv-" He took in all your details; you'd grown too obviously, but something about you looked different. Your eyes were more tired, your hair was thinner and your face was more...shaped? It was clear to him why you were gone for so long, it looked like you hadn't taken care of yourself.
Welp. This was getting awkward.
"Uh- We should be heading in...right?" You said while pointing at the school.
"Yeah, yeah your right!" He replied hastily.
The both of you made your way into the building and began the search for your classroom. Small talk was continuous of course, he asked you so many questions, and you asked him many too.
"So your quirk finally kicked in?"
"Y-yeah, it's still hard for me to control but I know I'll be able to one day." Midoriya said with a slight smile.
"Guess we were both late bloomers."
- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -
"Class 1-A...1-A" Midoriya repeated as the two of you rushed passed every door you saw. Getting so caught up in your chit-chat, neither of you realized you were going to be late on your first day!
"C'mon, where is it? Ah! There!" He said, finally coming across your classroom door.
Standing in front of the door together; taking in its size. "This thing is huge!" You exclaimed.
"Are there giants here?" But before you could answer he continued talking. "The most promising students in the country are waiting behind this door" He looked nervous as he shook his head from side to side, seemingly trying to shake his thoughts out.
"You ready?" you asked him.
"Yeah! Maybe we're in different classes, maybe everyone's nice."
He opened the door while you continued to look at him. In different classes? you thought to yourself.
As you both took a step in, your ears were met with a boy shouting something about feet on a desk. Oh boy.
"Huh?~" The boy drew out.
The other boy was the one you first heard as you walked in, he wore glasses and kept neat blue hair atop his head. "It's the first day and you're already disrespecting this academy by scuffing school property, you cretin!"
"You're kidding me, right? Your old school put a stick up your ass? Or were you born with it?" The first boy replied. You couldn't quite see him as you were standing behind Midoriya, you could only see the boy with glasses as he was rather tall.
"Just my luck.." Midoriya said under his breath. You were trying to peak your head around as the tall boy introduced himself as Tenya Iida from-
"Somei, huh? So you must think you're better than me. I'm gonna have fun tearin' you a new one. " That tone of voice, you recognized it all too well.
Gasping Iida replied, "You would threaten me? Your own classmate, are you sure you're in the right place?" As you were finally able to get your head around the boy who stood in front of you.
Big mistake! You tried to bring your head back but your eyes had already locked with him. Bakugo's piercing red ones.
Iida's statement caused the rest of 1-A to look in yours and Midoriya's way. "Huh? It's him. And another student"
You gulped as Midoriya said nervously hi to your classmates, but you couldn't speak. You felt your throat drying up by the second.
"Good morning!" Iida said loudly as he made his way over to the both of you; still standing in the doorway. "My name is Tenya Iida fro-"
"Yeah, I-I know," Midoriya said putting his hand in front of his chest defendantly. "I'm Izuku Midoriya. It's super nice to meet you." The two boys waited for a response but nothing came out so Midoriya quickly introduced you as well. "Oh, and this is Y/N L/N!"
"Midoriya, You realized that there was something more to the practical exam, didn't you? You must be very perceptive." You were hardly paying attention to their conversation as Bakugo kept his eyes on yours. "And I completely misjudged you, I admit. As a student, you're far superior to me" Iida continued; turning his head to you. "And you, Y/N. I didn't see you during the exam, you must've been one of the students who got in by recommendation. You must have a powerful quirk." He stated.
Recommendation? Bakugo thought, how? How is it that you disappeared for three years and now you're here standing in front of him? It didn't make sense, where the hell did you go?
You instantly turned to Iida. "Yeah...I suppose you could say that, it's nothing much in reality though" You say with a feeble smile.
"Hey! I recognize that messed-up hair! Falling boy!" Midoriya turned to look at whoever was behind you, as you followed suit you noticed he was blushing, a lot.
You were confused when she called him 'falling boy', you guessed they must've already met. The poor boy was just sputtering out nonsense as the girl with brown hair went on about a punch or something.
Bakugo was starring daggers into the back of your head as he sat; still, with his foot on the desk
- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -
Three years ago: Bakugo's perspective.
No one was allowed on the street, there were police covering the roads and blocking off Yuko's house.
"LET ME OUT!" Bakugo angrily shouted at his mother who was holding him back.
"NO! ARE YOU STUPID KATSKI?!" His mother shouted back.
It took some time but he was eventually able to escape her grip and rush out the door. He made his way to your house as fast as his legs would let him. Once he had made it all he could see was a green fog, "What the hell..." Bakugo made his way through the crowd of people. That was your quirk, no doubt about it. But what happened? he thought.
"Hey, kid! You're not supposed to be here! Where are your parents?!" A hero was yelling at him to leave, but he couldn't control his body. "LET ME THROUGH" Bakugo was yelling at the top of his lungs still pushing through everyone like a bulldozer.
By the time he made it to the tape blocking him from your home, he saw you; your weak body was being carried out of the house on a stretcher and so was your family. Everyone up close to the scene were wearing gas mask. Your parents were crying, and your sister was...Yume was screaming; he'd never heard someone yell so loud he thought he was going to go deaf.  But Yuko, why were you so quiet? Shouldn't you be screaming too?
Say something...He thought. Anything just make a sound. "Yuko...YUKO SAY SOMETHING DAMMIT! TELL ME YOU'RE OKAY!" He was being pulled away, he didn't bother to figure out who had a hold on him; Bakugo kept trying to get to you but you were being put away into an ambulance.
It had been two weeks since he'd last seen you. The rumor was that you had died since everyone came back but you. And of course, being his stubborn self; Bakugo marched his way to your home and started banging on the door. After many attempts, your mother finally opened the door.
"Where is she?" He asked demandingly.
She wasn't giving him the response he wanted, so he did the only reasonable thing. Bakugo Pushed his way past your mother and entered your home, he was calling out for you so desperately.
"Yuko! C'mon, I know you're here!" He was getting angrier every time he didn't get a response from you.
"I told you she isn't here!" Your mother followed him as he made his way up the stairs to your room.
Stomping through the hallway, he finally made it to your bedroom door. Bakugo had been here so many times he knew where everything was at like the back of his hand; everything except for you. He barged through the door before your mother could stop him and...
"I told you, Bakugo... she's gone." The older women had said weakly.
With his head down he went to leave but your mother put her soft hand on the boy's shoulder. "Stay."
And he did. It had been nearly four hours since he first arrived at your home; during that time he was going through your stuff. You weren't here so he thought it wouldn't matter if you cared or not- plus, he knew that you trusted him; so he continued.
As the fifth hour hit, he finally decided it was time for him to leave. He grabbed a few of your things to sneak back to his house. This included: A bracelet you always wore to school, and book you kept nagging him to read, and of course, he stole your childhood plushie. It was of your favorite hero; Lady Nagant.
- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -
Present: Your perspective
You were staring at Midoriya's beat red face, you found it funny how the girl talking to him didn't notice it.
"If you're just here to make friends then you can pack up your stuff now."
Everyone standing in the doorway looked into the corridor. Laying on the ground was your teacher, Aizawa- er Mr.Aizawa. He was bundled in the yellow sleeping back you had gotten him for your first Christmas together. You didn't think he used it anymore; you stood corrected though.
"Welcome to UA's hero course." He said as he unzipped his sleeping bag and brought a juice pouch to his mouth; taking a drink from it. He sternly continued to talk as he slowly stood. "It took eight seconds before you all shut up. That's not gonna work. Time is precious." Sliding out of the sleeping bag. "Rational students would understand that."
Gosh, when he spoke like that he reminded you of your father. You hated disappointing him and that's all it seems you've done today. While the other students stared, you quickly bowed your head as an apology as you muttered "Sorry, sir."
"Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa. Your teacher" He said.
Uh! He just completely ignored you! While you were concerned about that, everyone else was stunned by the man being your class's teacher.
Reaching into his sleeping bag he pulled out what looked to be a gym uniform. "Right, let's get to it. Put these on and head outside." He said while he handed you the one he was holding.
- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -
After changing into your gym uniform, you and the rest of your classmates made your way outside. During the walk you stayed in the back while Bakugo was leading the class- like he always has; guess nothing has changed much.
You weren't sure if you were avoiding him or if it was the other way around, but you knew that now wasn't the time for confrontation. Even while outside you both kept a distance from each other.
"What? A quirk assessment test?" The whole class asked in unison. "But orientation! We're gonna miss it!" exclaimed Ochako.
While in the locker room, you had gotten to meet all the girls in your class, she was the first to come up to you and introduce herself.
"If you really wanna make the big leagues,  you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies." Mr.Aizawa said with his back to the class. "Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions.-" He turned halfway to look at his students. "-That means I get to run my class however I see fit. You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives. But you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before." He continued to explain but you had already tuned him out; your mind was so focused on Bakugo you couldn't pay attention to anything else.
"Bakugo, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam." Mr.Aizawa stated. "What was your farthest distance throw with a softball when you were in Junior High?" He questioned with a straight face.
As Bakugo spoke, your attention was brought back; yet it was still on him. " Sixty-seven meters, I think" He replied. That was more than you remembered, we had to do physical exams every year at school. He's gotten stronger, and probably by a lot too.
Aizawa explained the rules of what we were doing; throw the softball using our quirks, and just stay in the circle. Bakugo went first as he was asked to, and as soon as he threw the ball. BOOM!
"DIE!" He shouted as the ball went flying.
I'm screwed you thought to yourself. If his quirk had gotten that strong in just the few years you were away..what were everyone's quirks gonna be like?
"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities. It's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro" Mr.Aizawa explained as he showed Bakugos score.
"Whoa, 705 meters, are you kidding me?" A boy with yellow hair said. Two other students had spoken after him.
Mr.Aizawa was giving a stare that you thought could kill as he spoke. "So, you think this is fun, huh? You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all gonna be games and playtime?" Idiots he muttered. "Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none, and will be expelled immediately." He said with a smug grin.
HUH?
Midoriya looked extremely worried as he held his hand.
You stayed focused on Mr.Aizawa.
"Like I said, I get to decide how this class runs." Your teacher said as he brought his hand to his hair and raising it above his dry and tired eyes. "Understand? If that's a problem, you can head home right now." The first day was going to be a long one you sighed.
"Let the games begin."
- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -
Test 1: 50-meter dash
Easy enough, not to brag to yourself but you were an excellent runner. Part of your training with Aizawa led you to constantly run out of his eyesight so you'd gotten pretty good at it.
You were to race against a girl named Jiro, right after Bakugo and Midoriya's race. Okay, you're OK. Stepping up to the white line, and placing your fingers down on it, you got ready. I'm A-O-K.
The gunshot went off signaling the race had started. Okay, I'm not okay! You thought as you took off. You were running off of nerves. But in the end, you won! Your time was marked as 4.78 seconds; just two seconds ahead of Jiro. Good
Test 2: Grip Strength
Maybe I shouldn't have started off so confident huh...
"You hit 540 kilograms? You're such a beast!" Said who you found out was: Hanta Sero.
A boy with purple..ball? Hair retorted after him"Yeah! Like a muscle-ly octopus!"
540!?! I can't even pass 50!
Test 3: Standing long jump
A lot of your classmates including Bakugo just used their quirks to fly over the whole landing pit, which unfortunately wasn't an option for you.
Test 4: Repeated side steps
You watched as Mineta- the purple ball-haired guy- bounced between his balls. He was flying side-to-side, least to say it was very entertaining.
You did okay during this part of the test, staying focused and feeling proud of yourself you hadn't even realized Bakugo was staring you down.
Test 5: Ball Throw
"Infinity?!"
That's how far Ochako threw- floated the ball. She has an impressive quirk. Next up was Midoriya, you watched him carefully. He never told you what his quirk was on your walk to class this morning, so you were extremely curious!
"If Midoriya doesn't shape up soon, he's the one going home." Iida said disappointedly.
"Huh? Of course, he is. He's a quirkless loser." Replied Bakugo.
Bakugo stood in front of you as you were standing next to Aizawa. Your teacher quietly called you out for staring at the boy.
"What's the look for?"
"Uh- What look?" you said tensely.
"The look you've got on your face right now." He was pointing his finger, nearly touching your cheek.
"I don't have a look on my face!" Quickly you covered your mouth feeling embarrassed you got so loud. You were prone to accidentally using your quirk when you got too nervous or overwhelmed and so; as green fog escaped your palms, Aizawa was quick to do the same. But to your stupidity this caused you to inhale your own gas. You pulled your hand away as you began to cough, your teacher activated his quirk to stop you from producing more as he took a few steps from you.
"Right." Aizawa said with a muffled voice.
The commotion had made Bakugo look back at you, exactly what you didn't want to happen.
"Tch."
He moved his attention back to Midoriya as you quickly avoided any more eye contact with him. Right, It's Midoriya's turn you thought fanning away all of the fog that was near you and the other students with the help of your teacher.
He was more focused than you'd ever seen him. And when he threw the ball- 46 meters? You were kinda expecting more till you saw Aizawa with his quirk activated again, but it wasn't because of you this time. He was looking straight at Midoriya.
"Uh...What gives? I was trying to use it just now." Midoriya said looking at his hand.
"I erased your quirk...The judges for this exam were not rational enough" He said as his scarf flew around his head. "Somone like you should never be allowed to enroll at this school"
Harsh.
After a quick explanation of who our teacher was. Midoriya got a re-try, using his quirk this time. Aizawa was right to be concerned about the boy, Midoriya had broken a finger while throwing the ball!
Everyone was giving their cheers to him while you and Bakugo stood there dumbfounded. Bakugo looked enraged now, mouth wide open and hands sparking. He moved fast as he ran up to Midoriya screaming
"Deku, you bastard! Tell me how you did that or you're dead!" but before he could reach the green-haired boy, Aizawa managed to grab him with his binding scarf. "How the hell is your damn scarf so strong?"
...
"You're wasting my time now. Whoever's next can step up." Aizawa said walking away.
And without fail, that was you. Midoriya slowly made his way from Bakugo as you swiftly walked past the two. Quickly you finished that part of the test throwing the ball a mere 51 meters.
The next three tests were: Sit-ups, seated-toe-touch, and a long-distance run. Thankfully, you got some decent scores on them.
- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -
At the end of the test, Mr.Aizawa stood in front of you and your classmates. "All right, time to give you your results. I've ranked you all from best to worst. You should probably have a good idea of your standing already. I'll just pull up the whole list. It's not worth going over each individual score."
You stood next to Midoriya as he clenched his fist. His finger looked terrible. Looking ahead of you, Aizawa showed everyone their scores. Your eyes quickly made their way to your name passing Bakugo's name which was in the 3rd ranked spot. 6 Shoji, 7 Ojiro, 8 Kirishima, 9...Y/N. Yes! Placed in the top ten, Aizawa gotta be proud of me you giggled to yourself. Now, Where is Midoriya? You continued to search for him; 18 Hagakure, 19 Mineta...Midoriya's last. He stood with his head down, you felt sorry for him.
"And I lied, No ones going home." Mr.Aizawa stated. "That was just rational deception to make sure you gave it your all in the test." He continued with an uninviting grin. Midoriya looked like he'd just seen a ghost after that reveal.
"That was pretty nerve-wracking, huh?" Sero said.
Kirishima replied to him "Nah, I'm always down for a challenge. And did you see that Y/N girl? I don't think she even used her quirk yet she placed pretty high! Pretty bad-ass I'd say."
Bakugo felt his eye twitch, of course, he wasn't eavesdropping on their conversation or anything. He just happened to be close enough to hear the whole thing.
Aizawa had excused the class for the rest of the day instructing them to grab a syllabus and to finish it by tomorrow. As he was walking off he stopped right in front of you handing him an excuse note to get his finger wrapped up. You decided to follow Aizawa as he walked off.
And there he was; All Might. He spoke to Aizawa as you just stared at him with wide eyes. Aizawa finished the conversation quickly walking off without you, whilst you just kept oogling. All Might's in Midoriya's corner? You questioned, and then the number one hero looked down at you.
"HI THERE!" He said loudly raising a hand.
Nope. You were out of there, you fled and quickly caught back up with Aizawa
"Kids..." All Might said rather disappointedly.
- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -
Finally, as the school day came to a close, you and Midoriya walked out of the school together. It was nice to have your friend back. Halfway down the path you both were stopped by Iida, he was asking how Midoriya's broken finger was. The three of you decided to walk out of the gates when you heard Ochako call out.
"Hey~! Wait up, you guys!" She yelled as she sprinted over. "Are you going to the station? Ill join you guys!"
"Oh, you're the infinity girl." Iida said.
"Im Uraraka Ochako! Let's see. You are Tenya Iida, You're Y/N L/N, and your name is...Deku, right?"
"Deku?!" You and Midoriya said at the same time.
"Uh, yeah, isn't that what Bakugo called you?" She defended. "During the fitness test, he said..."Deku you bastard!" Right?"
"Uh, well. my name's actually Izuku. Deku's what Kacchan calls me to make fun of me." He said explaining with his frantic hand motions.
You covered your mouth trying to stifle a laugh. She was damn good at impersonating him. "You guys still have your nicknames for each other?" You asked.
"Well, I think it would make a great hero name! Plus I think it sounds kinda cute!" Ochako said all smiley.
"DEKU IT IS!" Midoriya shouted with a beat red face.
- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -
Once stepping off of the school grounds, you explained to the three students that you had a ride waiting for you. After parting ways, you made your way to Aizawa's car. But before you could get there you were stopped by someone yelling out your name. No, it wasn't your name, but rather your old nickname. It felt like time froze when you turned around and saw Bakugo hurriedly making his way to you.
"Dammit Yuko! Stop walking so fast!" He yelled.
Your phone rang but you ignored it as the boy was getting closer and closer. "Suki..." Your palms felt dry. Not good.
"How the hell are you here?!" He asked. He was being loud, yeah. But he didn't sound angry the way he did with Midoriya earlier; he sounded hurt. You were just staring at him when he looked you in the eyes.
Trying to reply to his demanding question was hard. You get studdering over the same words, over and over again. Your phone rang again; Aizawa. This was his third time calling.
"Answer me, will ya'!" He took a step closer to you, finally noticing you were scared; it wasn't because of your quirk this time, it was because of him. "Yuko..." He tried again meekly.
Your heart twinged at the sound of his voice going soft.  You opened your mouth to say something back to him, but as soon as you did; Aizawa's car pulled up next to you.
"Get in." He wasn't asking, he was telling you to.
"But-" You tried.
"Now."
You looked from the car to Bakugo, deciding it was best to listen. Bakugo turned to walk away as soon are you grabbed the door handle.
"Suki!" You called out. "Tomorrow, meet me at the train station! Please..."
Without even looking back he gave you a small thumbs up as he kept walking away with his head down.

MSI Introduces New RTX 4070 SUPER GAMING X SLIM MLG Series with Striking Red Design and Enhanced 245W TDP
Tumblr media
MSI has announced the launch of its new RTX 4070 SUPER GAMING X SLIM MLG series, featuring a striking red color theme and a thermal design power (TDP) of 245 watts right out of the packaging. The series represents a minor enhancement to MSI’s RTX 4070 SUPER lineup, primarily through its aesthetic change. Following the debut of its first MLG card with a Dragon-maiden motif in black and red, MSI now extends this theme to its latest offering. The RTX 4060 previously released by MSI had a two-fan setup, in contrast to the three-fan configuration of the new GAMING X SLIM series.
Currently, the MLG design is exclusively available for the RTX 4070 SUPER model, with no confirmed plans to extend it to the 4070 Ti or 4080 SUPER versions. The top-end model with the red and black design includes an AD104 GPU, 7168 CUDA cores, and 12GB of GDDR6X memory. MSI offers two variants of this model: one with factory overclocking and another without. The overclocked version boasts a maximum GPU clock of 2655 MHz, achievable via MSI Center software, or a standard 2640 MHz without software intervention. The non-overclocked model has clock speeds of 2490/2475 MHz.
Tumblr media
The GAMING X SLIM card is designed to occupy two slots and measures 30.7 x 12.5 x 4.6 cm, making it a relatively large option in the market. However, for those who are fans of the design but face space constraints, MSI offers the smaller RTX 4060 alternative. Unique to the MLG edition is an additional magnetic cover for the backplate, which hides screws and the visible GPU section, and partially obscures the air exhaust. This design choice may slightly increase temperatures, but the impact is expected to be minimal.
Tumblr media
A notable aspect of the MSI GAMING X SLIM series (where ‘X’ denotes overclocked models) is that they all come with a 245W TDP. This is slightly higher than the 220W TDP specified by NVIDIA for the RTX 4070 SUPER SKU and the 240W maximum total graphics power (TGP) of the NVIDIA Founders Edition. Thus, the MSI cards offer an initial 5W increase over the NVIDIA FE design, even before any manual overclocking. MSI, however, has not disclosed the maximum TGP for these models.
Tumblr media
The MSI GAMING X SLIM series will be available in white, black, and red, with the RTX 4060 model also offered in green. It’s important to note that the GAMING X models are not priced at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP). They will not be featured in the initial reviews, set to be released on January 16, but will be included in subsequent reviews following NVIDIA’s lifting of the embargo on non-MSRP models on the next day. As of now, initial information from U.S. retailers does not include any mention of the MLG model, suggesting its availability might be delayed.
