I see a lot of headcanons floating around of adrien not getting diagnosed with ADHD until much later (with Marinette often being the one to introduce him to the concept of possibly being neurodivergent), all with the implication that Gabriel would have a cow if his precious son wasn't neurotypical or whatever. However, I have an alternate proposal:

Gabriel would entirely be open to the idea of medicating his son for ADHD, whether or not he even had it.

Because most ADHD meds suppress your appetite like craaaaazy.

It would make tons of sense for him to want to exert control over his child in this way. You're having trouble paying attention in class, son? Here, take something that will mean I never have to worry about you gaining weight again! By the way, you have to take it every day for the rest of your life and never skip taking it ever. Gabriel already starves his son, so a little Adderall in his system would mean Adrien would never even be hungry enough to complain, it'd be perfect!

And then Adrien suddenly becoming a million times more productive and less likely to space out is just a neat side effect that Gabriel doesn't even notice because he doesn't even care that much.

Fun fact I have taken 540mg of Allegra/fexofenadine today and also 50mg of benadryl because my fall seasonal allergies have kicked in and they're making my MCAS go haywire. (I am taking 3x the daily max dose of Allegra under supervision of an allergist who told me I could take up to 4x the "max dose" on the bottle) and I guess this is just my life now until whatever fucking plant I'm allergic to dies for the winter. I'm so glad I'm not one of those people who gets loopy on antihistamines because if I was I would be comatose rn but instead I'm wide awake with a runny nose and general itchiness while I wait for the third Allegra I took today to kick in. Fuck my life.

I really hate that my pharmacy is constantly shocked that I need my monthly prescription every month. Or that I need needles AND syringes to do an injection. Or that I get upset when I'm a week late on my meds and they still can only shrug and say "we might get it tomorrow".
