Aomei Backupper pro (7.3.5) versagt

Bootprobleme

Ich wollte Mac OSX booten, um Reste von Bitdefender zu löschen und dort das neue AVG zu installieren. Der Opencore Bootloader startete wie üblich nach dem Rechnerstart, aber keines meiner OSX Derivate (Monterey 12 oder Sonoma 14) konnte ausgeführt werden. Der Apple Ladebalken startete nicht. Mehrfache Versuche, auch mit Bios Varianten, schlugen fehl.

Easy BCD

Ich hatte zuvor mit „Easy BCD“ mal versucht, die Windows Tastatur, die beim Windows Boot immer zu Beginn eingeblendet wird, irgendwie abzuschalten. Da sind mir 2 Windows-Einträge aufgefallen. Einen davon habe ich gelöscht. Beim Neustart hatte ich aber ein zusätzliches Auswahlmenu für Windows 11. So wollte ich es nicht haben. Auch die EasyBCD repair Funktion führte ich mal aus. Keine Ahnung, ob sich das Windows Bootmenü auf diese Weise optimieren lässt. Neustart. Immer noch das zusätzliche. Auch kann man in Easy BCD eine Option „Kein Startmenü ausführen“ anklicken. Hat nichts gebracht. Dann habe ich alle Einträge gelöscht. Ohnehin hat beim Start von EasyBCD diese App eine Einschränkung formuliert, da offenbar eine UEFI-Startbedingung existiere. Alles unklar. Dann habe ich auch den einzigen Windows Eintrag gelöscht. Ich dachte, wenn ich das Bios anpasse, kann ich ja von der Start SSD (970 Evo SSD 500 GB) starten.

Blauer Bildschirm

Aber dann beim Neustart im OC Bootloader auf Windows geklickt, aber ich landete bei einem blauen Bildschirm. Mit F1 kam ich nur zum OC Bootmenü zurück, wo keine OS ausgeführt werden konnten. Bei Windows landete ich wieder beim blauen Screen.

Aomei Backupper

Kürzlich installierte ich Aomei Backupper und legte ein Windows Sytembackup damit an (6/18/2024, Voll-Backup; ohne Fehlermeldungen). Zur Lösung des Problems dachte ich daran, dies Backup zurückzuspielen. Dazu hatte ich mir einen Aomei Startstick vorbereitet, von dem ich booten konnte. Dann kam der Schritt der Auswahl des Images und der Prozess der Wiederherstellung begann mit einer runden Grafik, die den Prozentverlauf des Fortschritts anzeigte. Allerdings bei ca. 96% brach die App das Recovery ab und zeigte diese Fehlermeldung:

Entschuldigung, es ist ein unbekannter Fehler aufgetreten. Sollte dieser Fehler immer wieder auftreten, prüfen Sie bitte den Inhalt des "Log"-Ordner im Programmverzeichnis sowie die Datei "Crash.dmp". Sie können die Log- und dmp-Dateien an support@aomeitech.com einsenden. Vielen Dank für Ihr Verständnis und Kooperation.

Ich habe noch 3 mal versucht, das Backup zurückzuspielen (25.06.2024). Immer am Ende der Abbruch. (Anmerkung: später konnte ich übrigens die Crash.dmp Datei nicht auf dem Windows PC finden, im Log Ordner findet sich aber keine Crash-Datei; lediglich CrashDumpper.dll; keine Daten vom 25.6.24, am 26.06.24 machte ich ein erneutes Backup, hier existieren Log Files)

Lösung: BCD löschen und MBR neu schreiben

Jetzt hatte ich nach einigen Stunden vergeblicher Mühe ein ernstes Problem. Das Backup konnte nicht wiederhergestellt werden, Windows liess sich nicht mehr starten.

Mit dem Aomei Rettungsstick kann man an die Windows Eingabeaufforderung gelangen. Ich dachte dass vielleicht die Erneuerung des Bootloaders helfen könnte (bootrec \fixmbr, bootrec \fixboot, bootrec \rebuildbcd). Aber diese Befehle wurden verweigert. Der Blauer Bildschirm gab den Hinweis, dass mit dem BCD etwas nicht mehr stimmt.

Um Fehler auf der Windowspartition auszuschliessen, habe ich in der Eingabeaufforderung chkdsk bzw. sfc scannow ausgeführt. Möglicherweise wurde kleine Fehler repariert. Dann ein 4. Mal Backupper verwendet, um das Backup wiederherzustellen. Wieder Abbruch.

Weitere Recherchen im Internet zu „Bcd“. Eine Quelle gefunden, die das Löschen des BCD beschreibt. Meine Idee: vielleicht hat der BCD ja Fehler. Wenn er gelöscht ist, vielleicht kann ich dann den „mbr“ neu schreiben?

Nun erhielt ich eine Commandozeile mit „success“, dann führte ich die mir bekannten Schritte aus: bootrec \fixmbr, bootrec \fixboot, bootrec \rebuildbcd. Diesmal mit Erfolg.

Neustart: OpenCore menü, Windows gestartet. Ich lande wieder beim blauen Bildschirm ??? Alles vergeblich?

PC heruntergefahren, Netzstecker abgezogen, 10 Sek. Gewartet und PC neu gebootet. Nun lies sich Windows 11 wieder regulär hochfahren. In weiteren Tests funktionierten auch meine Macintosh OS wieder!

Maps of the new leveling zone scaling system.  Basically zones still start at the same level they used to start at, but scale to their expansions cap +1 except Vanilla.  So Vanilla zones scale to 60, Burning Crusade and Northrend scale to 80, Cata & Pandaria to 90, and Draenor to 100.

I’m so pleased that dad joke Rommath and “just do what I say because I’m always right” Rommath are 100% canon! It’s everything I ever wanted. “If you would all just do what I say instead of attempting to think for yourselves, Azeroth would be much better off.” I didn’t think it was possible to love this ridiculous man any more than I already did!

Also, “We build our future upon the backbone of tradition” nicely illustrates how Rommath straddles the line between tradition and necessity. He was forced to be a revolutionary in TBC, but he’s deeply proud of Quel’thalas’s rich and glorious history and it was a relief to settle back into less strange and desperate measures once the Sunwell was restored.

I’m so psyched to see the Sunwell scene in game, and for Rommath to finally have unique click lines!

Patch 7.3.5 introduced The Wound in Silithus, which took place after the Argus campaign. Void elves thus rise to prominence after the death of the titan, Argus, and after Sargeras stabbed Azeroth.]

They were asking when the elves were banished, not when they were transformed. General understanding is that it was sometime between Wrath and Legion, though generally likely to be somewhat recent. We do not know the exact time.

Westfall Quests: "Hot On the Trail: Murlocs"

“It doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t bother me. ... It bothers me. It bothers me ALOT!”

Okay, so! 7.3.5? YAY! But, if you look closely, there’s a little problem with the male pandaren model at the moment. From all the way around the shoulder to the wrist, there is a single thread of missing texture underneath both of the arms. It’s actually something that was in the PTR build before it went live. Even though I did report it, I’m not surprised that it made it into live, given that half the time reporting stuff to Blizzard is actually throwing the report into the void itself.

To make matters a bit worse, I doubt it’ll be fixed anytime soon, not even “Blizzard-soon(tm)”, since it was in PTR for months, pandaren, especially male pandaren, aren’t exactly played like belfs, and that it doesn’t seem to have really caught anyone’s attention. 

This makes me a sad panda.

That is the expression of Mistress Attumhe as she lay, broken and battered, upon the dusty terrain of the battlefield. For a planet with no visible sun in the sky in comparison to darkened green clouds, Argus felt hotter than usual... perhaps the demoness was feeling the sensation of the crimson that poured from the gaping hole in her torso at an alarming rate, or perhaps she was feeling the beads of sweat that trickled down her temples to glide along her neck. Or, perhaps, she was feeling the heat from the angry stare of the woman who loomed above her. A Draenei and a demoness, side by side, so different in color, yet their resemblance was strikingly similar. They both resembled the same sized horns, the same sharp hooves. One blue spirit. One red.

For a long while, their gazes held each other as they remained idle. Blood stained their armor, their marks scattered along the tainted soil of the dusty floor. Cuts, gashes, and bruises covered the two women from head to hoof, hair matted, bones broken... their battlefield, however, had become a deathbed - and they both knew it all too well.

“It comes to this.” Mistress Attumhe’s words dripped from her lips like a faint trickle of water that can’t quite become a stream. Her tone, though an edged whisper, was still laced with pride. The green of her eyes stared dimly up at her company - her death bringer, her downfall... her best friend. “I never stood a chance, did I?”

“That is the terrible part, dearest sister,” The vindicator managed to utter her words through her heavy panting as she leaned heavily against her golden greatsword, which she had stuffed into the soil beside her. Despite the heat of the battle, the abhorrent circumstances that had befallen them, her own tone was filled heavily with sorrow, “You did, once.”

For a while, they sat in uncomfortable silence. seconds seemed to pass by like hours, and yet, time wasn’t an ally. The red skin of Mistress Attumhe lightened to a rose-like hue as blood continued to seep from her body. Every breath she took grew slower, more ragged... each second that crawled by became more of a struggle for her to stay alive. For now, she and the other could only simply stare. Their eyes roamed the figure of their company as they took in each other’s appearance. So very different from years upon years ago.

The victor breaks the silence.

“Do you remember our childhood?” A small, sad smile crept along the Lightforged Draenei’s face as she gazed down at her dying kin. “We would run through the village... waving sticks as swords. We would pretend to defend the planet our parents ran from before we were born, and use the ‘Light’ to bless our playmates during faux battles. At such a young age, we vowed to someday devote our souls to the true Light. To become all things good,” Her smile slowly fell as she drifted a hand to her wounded side, eyes still lingered upon her sister as she whispered, “just as Mother was.”

Mistress Attumhe’s paling green gaze roamed her sibling’s figure, still, as she lay in quiet contemplation. The expression upon her face momentarily flickered to something unsure. Perhaps a moment of clarity... a series of thoughts drifting across her mind like a sailboat on a gentle sea...

The expression passed as quick as it appeared... and the demoness began to giggle. The harsh, curdled noise that escaped her soon turned into desperate, heaving gasps for air as the woman broke into hysteric laughter, amusement bubbling from her gaping chest without relent. The Lightforged’s eyes narrowed, her stance quickly shifting to one of caution as her fingers wrapped tighter around the handle of her blade again. Mistress Attumhe peered up at the victor of their fight and grinned.

“Your Light will abandon you... Vindicator Ladoranna...” Attumhe sucked in a sharp, pained breath, her laughter turning to rasped gasps, “I shall always serve... the Legion...”

A moment passed as rage quickly began to fill Ladoranna, and death’s door could not have arrived quicker for the mistress at her hooves. The Lightforged yanked her blade from the soil as if it weighed nothing, her teeth grit as she raised the greatsword high above her head, and with an anguished scream, a blur of gold plummeted through the air until it sharply pierced the skull beneath her in a horrendous crack. At once, the laughter stopped.

The vindicator panted heavily as she stared down at her latest kill, her hands trembling around the handle of her weapon. “Pheta... thones... gamera...” She managed. There came no response from the body beneath her. The battlefield sat in silence. Slowly, the Draenei pulled her blade from the skull of the demoness, and shakily retrieved a clean cloth from her belt. She took the cloth to the tip of her blade, clearing the steel of heated liquid... and as she did so... caught sight of her own reflection in the shimmering glow of the sword. It was only then that Ladoranna noticed of the tears that trailed down her blue cheeks to drip to the ground beneath her, adding an odd, cool sensation to her warm skin. She uttered a curse beneath her breath and tossed the cloth aside before wiping at her eyes with her hand.

“You do not deserve tears.”

The battlefield still sat quiet. A moment of peace through the heat.

Until the silence dispersed to noise again.

Shouts, screams, and battle cries filled the air. The vindicator picked her head up to take in her surroundings, gold gaze scanning the rough, rocky terrain that sat around her. Left and right charged her companions - loyal soldiers of Azeroth and soldiers of the Light, blades and guns gripped tightly in their hands as they advanced toward their enemies. At the same time, lost souls devoted to the Legion shrieked demonic war cries as they added to the flames of battle. There was no mercy, no relent, no hesitation as swords clashed and bodies began to fall - and it served as a great reminder of the ongoing battle that was far from finished. The war that never seemed to end. Ladoranna spun her blade in her hand once, twice, three times, and looked back to the woman at her hooves. Beneath her, there no longer lay the sister Ladoranna spent her childhood with. There no longer lay the woman the vindicator once lost and never found again. There was just the mistress... and to the vindicator... that meant one less threat left to a world she’s meant to defend. Rid of hesitation, the Lightforged soldier gave another cry and turned, hooves clacking against the ground as she ran off to kill her next demon.

They all begin to look the same after you kill enough of them.
