3 new releases finally out on Doomtown Records! DT 038 APSURD - Derealizacija/Svemu Će Doći Kraj 12"
“If you somehow missed one of our favourite bands from the ex-YU area, we'll mention that Apsurd are Belgrade based group of individuals, even though the band members come from Serbia and share drummer from USA. There's no much difference in the songwriting style when it comes to newly recorded "Svemu će doći kraj" EP and we mean that in a good way. The band still plays straightforward, energetic and noisy hardcore punk heavily influenced by the punk and hardcore scene of former Yugoslavia. Throw in some vibe and influence from Crass Records and Corpus Christi catalogue and you'll get the picture right there.” “Whether we're talking about primal and primitive hardcore of U.B.R., scratchy and noisy guitar work of Solunski Front or the hopeless female yelling and spoken word moments Tožibabe were known for, this band covers it all. We like to tell people this is Yugo-punk reinvented for the new millenium so if this means anything to you don't sleep on this pogoing punk troops!” DT 040 THE CELETOIDS - Optic Nerve CS “The concept of "Optic Nerve" deals with fear of using modern technology for ethically unacceptable goals through emotional manipulation intertwined with conspiracy theories that are not completely denied. We are at the peak of modern digital age and monitoring user behavior on social network is not something uncommon and this often includes serving selective information to influence the subconscious of selected or random targets. The concept also deals with dimensional gaps that occur under certain conditions, in certain places, and altered states of the human mind that we associate with psychoactive drugs, insomnia, or schizophrenia but maybe there's something else there. To cut to the chase, some conspiracy theories that have some basis may not be so far fetched from reality the more you think about it!“ “As for the music, there's some progress when it comes to catchiness and song structures but The Celetoids still balance their thing with influences from first wave of good ol' british punk, Killed by Death/Bloodstains compilations style riffs and garage punk. You can hear some outsider weirdo american revival punk vibe here and there's Spits momentum there, but "Optic Nerve" stands out on its own and needs no more comparisons to other bands.“
DT 039 PARNEPAR - Dobar Dan, Izvolite CS “After we released "Kako, Molim?" demo tape at the end of the 2018, here is the brand new offering of probably the only band from ex-Yugoslavia region that's taking strong influences from the 80's post punk & new wave music from the same area. This time the band recorded their first full length album by themselves filled with a lot of local charm we all dig and love. Heavy vibes of Yugo post punk forces ŠARLO AKROBATA, DOBRI ISAK and early output of ELEKTRIČNI ORGAZAM are still more than obvious, but it's also hard not to mention echoes of the more obscure acts like DEFEKTNO EFEKTNI.” “Parnepar surely has unique character and approach in writing lyrics and doing music collages and we are glad that this three relatively young weirdos are still into making refreshing and interesting music. It's nice to feel something different in a Croatian punk scene which is mainly composed of straight forward punk and hardcore bands.” LISTEN/BUY/MORE INFO: https://doomtownrecords.bandcamp.com/ BUY FROM OUR STORE: https://livinginadoomtown.bigcartel.com/products

[ad_1] ICYMI, we’re living through a New Balance renaissance. From celebs like Hailey Bieber and Emily Ratajkowski being seen rocking the 550s to last week’s announcement of a brand-new sneaker mule (controversial, we know), the OG dad sneaker is claiming its place in 2022. The latest news out of New Balance is sure to turn the head of even the biggest hypebeast: a debut collaboration with Danish designer brand Ganni.  After dropping a collection with Juicy Couture just last month, Ganni’s decision to partner with high street and cult brands is growing an already devoted community of #GANNIGirls. Hopping on the New Balance moment is a smart and stylish fit for Ganni’s casual minimalist vibes. The new drop of New Balance’s 2002R sneaker offers two colorways – a gray and a turquoise – each fitted with Ganni logo panels for the brand’s signature flair. “The New Balance 2002R style really fits into the Copenhagen way of dressing; we’re always cycling and running somewhere,” said Ganni’s Creative Director Ditte Reffstrup in a press release.  Reffstrup, who also noted that she’s been a fan of New Balance “forever”, called the collaboration “the perfect mix of function and fashion”.  While the trend for dad-style fashion has given New Balance continuous relevance throughout the last decade, this year’s resurgence of the brand falls in line with a growing interest in sustainable fashion. New Balance operates on the Green Leaf Standard (this means prioritizing environmentally preferred materials) and both sneakers in the Ganni drop are made up of 80% recycled overlay, 100% recycled mesh, 30% recycled lace and 5% regrind rubber outsole.  Priced at $149.99 – slightly higher than a pair of classic 2002Rs but a bit of a steal for Ganni sneakers, which can range from $255 up to $375.  Be quick as these are sure to sell out fast. The collection officially drops today at 10 a.m. EST. Mark your calendars. At Refinery29, we’re here to help you navigate this overwhelming world of stuff. All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team. If you buy something we link to on our site, Refinery29 may earn commission. Like what you see? Let's Go Together
#housemusic Dutch house phenomenon Joe Stone is back with another crowdpleaser. Aptly titled 'Let's Go Together' it's an uplifting tune featuring familiar vocals and vibes, making sure crowds will join each other on the floor. Already supported by a wide range of DJ's, it's officially out now on Spinnin' Records. Joe Stone has a reputation to uphold. Entering the scene in 2015 with the amazing debut single 'The Party (This Is How We Do It)' featuring Montell Jordan, a track that turned into a fullblown summer hit everywhere, residing at #1 on Beatport's Top 100 for 20 consecutive days, he's kept on delivering much acclaimed house gems up till now. This included his Daser collab 'Freak (And You Know It)' which got picked up by just about every major DJ, as well as collabs with Ferreck Dawn and his early 2017 single 'Make Love', all together gathering millions of streams. 'Let's Go Together' And now he's back! Working his way around another taste making melody, creating an amazing future house bliss with 'Let's Go Together'. Good vibes and uplifting guitar chords, combined with energetic grooves and refined vocals are making this song the ultimate dancefloor filler. With DJ/radio support varied from guys like Oliver Heldens, Robin Schulz, Sam Feldt and Lost Frequencies to Tiësto, Don Diablo, Firebeatz and R3hab, it's clear this record is everybody's best friend at the moment! “For this next record I wanted to create a feelgood track that represented the 80’s. As a child I listened to a lot of soul/funk records from that era, and with cool basslines, warm synths and catchy lead vocals I hope I've re-created this energy." - Joe Stone Joe Stone - 'Let's Go Together' out now on Spinnin' Records http://release.spinninrecords.com/lets-go-together music_category: Singlesnotification email: [email protected]: Music rating:  0 No votes yet artistname: Joe StoneTop Rated: Notype: MusicReviewsYoutube Link: Embedded video for Let's Go Together http://dlvr.it/PxYRCh
