Those who ship Chandler and Joey from Friends, I beg of you, PLEASE rewatch s2 ep2 somewhere closer to the end, there’s the scene where Joey comes back to the apartment at night and he’s wearing the cowboy outfit, and has this funny scene with Chandler, anyway it’s super gay because first: pay attention to Chandlers initial reaction, secondly: when Joey walks over to the counter,
CHANDLER FUCKING CHECKS HIM OUT.
MULTIPLE TIMES.
Lastly: it’s just very homosexual please rewatch I think your day might be better :)
The words in front of Cory are starting to blur on the pages and he’s fighting off his sixth yawn in the last ten minutes when he hears the familiar thump outside his window, followed by a softly muttered curse that makes Cory have to stifle a grin.
The glass panes rattle, the hinges giving a quiet as the window slides open and Cory doesn’t even bother to look up when he hears the soles Shawn’s scuffed boots land safely on the carpet of his bedroom.
“You’re late.” Is Cory’s greeting as his eyes skim over his paper, scratching out a spelling error and writing the correct spelling above it.
“I know, I know,” Shawn murmurs, pressing a placating kiss in the slope of Cory’s neck and Cory feels any traces of earlier annoyance (worry) fade the minute those cool lips press against his skin. “I’m sorry, I got held up.”
Or--
A late-night visit, a discussion of the future, and the realization that this thing between them could actually be forever.
I know I previously said that Dwight Schrute was my least favourite sitcom character, but as he redeemed himself by becoming a human being in season 9, his spot has been taken by Ben Seaver, the piece of literal teenage garbage from Growing Pains.
The 90s, we knew them well; 'twas the one decade to rule them all. The Simpsons was as good as it has ever been. Princess Diana stole our hearts. For reasons still unclear, our species decided to clone a sheep, whom we christened Dolly. Bill Clinton was out and about. Kids and adults alike would escape reality for the havens of the Super Nintendo, PlayStation, Nintendo 64, or Game Boy Color. The McMansion became a mainstay of American architecture. The Cool S reigned supreme.
Generation X were able to enjoy the cultural fruits of rave, grunge, Britpop, hip hop, drum and bass, and Eurodance. And it was a golden era, perhaps the golden era, of the sitcom: The Fresh Prince, Cheers, Seinfeld, Family Matters, Married... with Children. These were days to kick back in an armchair, complete with a built-in refrigerator, and watch and watch every last hour of the finest television our species has to offer. It was a tall ask, but someone had to do it.
Fortunately, that man is very tall, German, and very funny. His name is #flula borg. You know him, more likely than not. And he has most graciously plucked some achingly 90s delights from the dashboard, for your viewing pleasure.
How do people say they’ve met the Joey to their Chandler (or vice versa) in a romantic way but don’t see the actual characters they are referring to as romantic??
Once upon a time, the word home was a foreign concept to Shawn, its definition shifting and changing constantly with his ever-changing surroundings and the unpredictable nature of his environment. But now, in the early haze of a new morning, in this apartment with its leaky bathroom faucet and the creaky wooden floors, in this bed with its rumpled sheets and the remnants of their lovemaking, it occurs to Shawn that the only definition of home that’s ever remained a true constant to him is the man laying beneath him, with his sleepy eyes and his mussed hair and a smile that makes his nose scrunch and his eyes crinkle and Shawn loves him so much he could burst with it.
Or—
Shawn returns from a work trip and reunites with Cory and muses on what having a home truly means.

Fun Fact : Both Seinfeld (1989-1998) and The Simpsons (1989-20??) only have one episode released in the 1980s. And that's their 1989 pilots (1x01 The Seinfeld Chronicles & 1x01 Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire). That is if you don't count the Simpsons (eat my) shorts from The Tracey Ullman Show (between April 1987 and may 1989).
