A/N: I wrote this super-fast because I know I haven't really been active... so I wanted to write something quick for y'all! I miss y'all and I hope y'all enjoy!

-Spencer grew up on Victorian romance novels and old valentines' poems, so he was quite the hopeless romantic

-When Spencer wasn't solving theories and getting PHDs, he was dreaming of a beautiful romance. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that he isn't the most confident boyfriend, but he makes up for it in his own way!

-Y'alls first date was something straight out of a movie! I mean it was a bouquet of flowers, an expensive dinner followed by a movie theater that played only old 50's films.

-It was the kind of date that had you falling in love with him first thing, knowing that this boy was the person you see yourself coming home to every night.

-After the date, Spencer offered you his jacket and walked you home. It was a chilly night, the streets lit up from the moonlight. He rambled on and on about the movie, but you couldn't even focus on what he was saying because you were too distracted by him.

-What you fell more in love with was the fact he didn't expect you to even kiss him!

-He was more than okay to say your "goodbyes" and "see you later" than leave.... but you gave him a soft peck before heading into your apartment. Even throughout the darkness you could see his blush.

-Anyways, that date led to a beautiful love story between y'all

-Spencer was a romantic even in the littlest of ways, like sending flowers to your work randomly or leaving you small poems in your fridge before he leaves so it feels as though he never really leaves.

-Spencer would always make sure to call you every night when he was away for work... I mean EVERY night.

-"Spencer honey it's 3am here..."

-"I know! But I just wanted to call you, should I call back in the morning?"

-"No, I'm already up and well I miss hearing your voice anyways." You laughed softly.

-The start of your relationship was so innocent, there was no sex or jealousy... it was just so simple and romantic

-There was lots of making out though, something that surprisingly Spencer was the one to initiate every time.

-There were just lots of times when you two would be discussing a book that Spencer probably recommended to you, then all of a sudden, his tongue would be down your throat.

-He was getting used to hugs and the touching, but kissing was something that felt so natural when he did it with you.

-Speaking of books! He had a list of books he recommended to you, like books that you never thought you'd read but you're glad you did yk?

-You would finish a book in one sitting and call him immediately to talk about it

-In turn though, you would bring him into the modern era and show him newer movies and music. Most of the stuff he did not like, but he pretended to like it to be nice.

-The first couple of months of your relationship, the team had no idea you existed. They started to notice spencer being in a lot better mood, but nothing too alarming.

-However, Derek Morgan is a lady killer... so he caught on a lot faster than the others.

-Like one time, the whole team was going out for drinks and Spencer said he had plans... Derek caught him in a lie real fast

-"So, who's the lucky lady?"

-"What?"

-"Pretty boy...I don't need to be a profiler to figure out why your suddenly so "busy.""

-Because of Morgan prying, Spencer decided to invite you out with the team one night.

-The team was all pretty nice, but very confused on why someone like you would want someone like spencer?? You two were completely different from each other... like night and day damn near

-Besides your differences, the team fell in love with you probably harder than Spencer did. I mean Penelope basically adopted you by the end of the night... she did however do her background checking before meeting you, but we don't gotta talk about that.

-The meeting of the team made the relationship real, like now you had become a part of their small family, and they trusted you enough to take care of spencer

-Spencer also felt this was a huge step, like now that his family accepted you, he was going to spend the rest of his life with you

-Spencer would always bring you up when he got the chance now, putting a framed picture of you and him on his desk just so people would ask about you.

-"Oh, who's this?" Someone would ask.

-"That's my girlfriend, Y/N. We've been dating for 11 months, 2 weeks, and 4 days. She's a (profession) and she smells like lavender."

-Like girl, all they asked was who you were... not every detail of your existence.

-But now that you guys are now officially dating, and everyone knows it... there's some newfound jealousy

-Spencer knew that you were attractive, but sometimes he forgets that you are also attractive to others as well

-Sometimes when you come into the FBI office, he sees other men staring you down... probably wondering how a nerdy boy like him could get someone like you.

-Spencer getting jealous is quiet and polite. He doesn't get angry or upset, we all know he does not do good with emotions. So, he'll just keep his distance from you, accepting the fact that you could leave him at any moment and not wanting to feel the effects of it.

-He will go silent for days if you didn't ask him about it, not even sure what he was feeling but knew he didn't like it.

-"Just didn't like how he was looking at you... made me feel weird."

-"You're jealous?"

-"I guess... I don't know."

-You just laughed it off, telling him how you would never choose anyone over him even if there was a gun to your head.

-Spencer also remembers everything about everything so... he picks up on your favorite things and your little quirks, plus he never forgets an anniversary!

-Derek bullies the shit out of him, like omfg

-he'll always call you his mommy and make kissing sounds when you call him, loud enough for the entire office to hear.

-"Muah muah muah... Oh Y/N!!" Derek yells, making sure you heard him.

-"So let me guess... Dereks with you?"

-"How'd you know?"

-He actually doesn't use too many pet names, but you definitely do lmao. His name is literally "Spenice poo <3" on your phone.

-Eventually, Spencer asks you to move in with him and omfg!!! You are so excited, like jumping up and down excitedly.

-I feel like spencer would be so domestic too omfg

-He would play music while cleaning the house, but it would all be like Mozart and classical music. You would always grab him by the waist and start dancing with him, you both looked so stupid but at least it was together.

-He would ramble to you all the time and you were probably the only person in the world that would let him, honestly you enjoyed it too.

-Like you had just gotten out of the shower, Spencer barged in and started talking about a case. He sat on the toilet seat while you did your skin care, just rambling on and on about how sick this person was.

-Yours and Spencer's different aesthetics clashed a lot in the house, like Spencer's apartment was slowly being taken over by you and your stuff... but he didn't mind.

-Since you guys have decided to take your relationship to another big step... Spencer decided he wanted you to pop his cherry.

-Spencer wasn't too experienced and he's never really had sex before. He's done stuff with someone, but never the actual act of it.

-He wanted to do it way before, but he thought it would complicate everything and honestly, he wasn't completely ready for it yet.

-You made sure it was the perfect night, you had it planned out. You took him on a picnic, watching the sunset as you loosened him up a little bit, making sure he was comfortable before setting yourself down on his lap.

-You were so soft with him; I mean you were afraid you might break him. He had to beg for you at one point because you weren't going fast enough.

-The next morning, he had to go into work, something about him was different... his confidence boosted a bit. Derek could sense it from a mile away, making sure Spencer knew that he knew.

-The popping of his cherry had created something inside spencer, he found his favorite thing to do, and he wanted it at all times

-You obviously were glad to give him whatever his little heart desired, so you let him fuck you anytime he wanted. Sometimes it even got a little filthy... something you would have never guessed about spencer.

-My bad I got sidetracked... but spencer was also way touchier with you

-Spencer was never really touchy in public, but now it's all he ever did. If you were in the room with him, then his attention would be completely on you.

-He really just felt so safe with you, knowing that you gave him not only your body but also your mind... he just wanted you, period.

Definitely a show-off, even before you started dating. He wouldn't boast too loudly though, he prefers to smoothly tell you how he got blackeye or some new asset on his bike. He always melts when you're impressed by his feats, even if they were from failure.

Mike's a collector. While cycling or suffering from boredom in his dull jobs, he'd swipe a few things that grab his attention and share it with you. He enjoys making chains for you and Abby. It hasn't been the first time Abby has been dragged out of school for wearing a pin with some questionable language Mike didn't notice.

Absolutely adores helping you dress up to resemble his biker wear. Loves helping you find bracelets, decorative eyeliner and rebellious-printed clothes. It makes me squeal eternally.

Gets intense anxiety in populated areas, mostly due to his trauma with Garrett. He doesn't want to think about anyone taking you or Abby away. He's stupid protective in public spaces. With his already intimidating demeanour, it's safe to say nobody bothers talking to you too much.

He enjoys using pet names, but he jokingly calls you "sir", "bro" or "boytoy" a lot. Speaking of which, Mike adores when you make up titles for him. It's something he treasures a lot. A special name for him? And him only? Makes his heart melt.

Takes you on bike rides at any opportunity. He also loves taking Abby in rides too and doing basic tricks with you watching from the sidelines. He's always careful, he could never forgive himself if either of you got hurt.

One of his favorite things to do is let you touch his hair. Nothing makes him happier than intimate moments like that. He likes it more than cuddling and neck kisses. It's just the simple things in life that appeal to him the most.

Wears the silliest shirts while he isn't at work or roaming the streets. Either quotes involving boyfriends or cartoon merchandise. It amuses all of you, but it genuinely makes him happy to indulge in a separate style. Definitely has a: "Men love me, Fish Fear Me" hat somewhere.

You're always at his aid when he comes back bruised. Like the first bullet, he'd calmly hum you an out of tune, over exaggerating story to make himself look good. Truly, Mike doesn't think he deserves you. So, he refuses to embarrass himself.

Loves kissing. That's all.

"Come on, Mike. I gotta go," you giggled as he pressed featherweighted kisses against your skin. You could feel him smiling before he pulled back with a heated sigh. "Just a minute, please? You know how much I miss you." With a playfully eye roll, you wrap your hands around his sides and hug him as he continued peppering you again while grinning sweetly.

Always referencing something. Either it's from a show or song he likes. He's always dumbfounded when you don't understand and ends up spending thirsty minutes rambling about music history.

Pulls pranks occasionally, mostly with Abby's help. A few prank wars have gone down in your household.

Has at least two tattoos based on you (and Abby), he takes his relationships very seriously.

Cried when Abby called you her "dad" once. This loser is so head over heels for you he'd sob if you were complimented him. It makes his heart throb to see you and his sister connect despite everything.

Very defensive. If anything goes wrong, he's either going to use grade school insults or result to violence. There were a couple of times he couldn't come home due to arrest. He'd come back as if nothing happened.

If you ever got into an argument, Mike would try to give you the most formal apology ever. Either by notes or heavily descriptive speeches about how special you are to him. Most of the time it was pretty cheesy, but you couldn't help but be smitten by his adorable attempts.

Much deeper voice + Slightly Childish. He's still pretty shy when he isn't in his element, so Mike is much more confident with you around. Mostly due to his need to impress you.

So much fist bumping.

Mike's bike is DEFINITELY named after you. Anyone who asks about it is immediately shot with dumps of his adoration if you. Bro will never shut up about his boyfriend. Ever.

Mike has definitely gone through those: "This is for you," and failed immediately. As much as it embarrassed him, he finds it cute how fond you were of it. His face flares up a lot around you.

"God, I'm so sorry I missed it." He frowned, face drenched with numb scarlet. "I didn't mean to make a fool out of you." Mike relaxed once you gripped his leather glove with a smile, "So? I still love you. I think it was sweet how you tried to impress me. I'm proud of you." Mike swore he was starstruck right there.

Loves holding your hand, even in public. It's one of the only forms of affection he's comfortable with displaying.

can i request the main 3 (seperate) of general headcannons, things like what it’s like dating them, habits and things they would do with reader?

Stan Marsh:

— This might be obvious, but Stan is really clingy once you manage to get him to trust you.

— He gets jealous really easily, even if it's just talking. 

— He just wants to be with you most of the time.

— He does have minor trust issues that make him think he can't be loved, but it's nothing you can't kiss away and make him forget all about.

— When he's with you, he's super affectionate and will shower you with as much love as he can give. He just asks for the same.

— He loves someone who just rambles to him about stuff because Stan seems more of a listener, and plus, he loves your voice.

— We all know Stan is an animal lover, so he would also love it if you had a pet. not that you have to get one, just that if you had one, he would like it like it was his own child.

— He loves cuddling too, literally any time or place. You just have to ask.

— Speaking of asking, at the start of the relationship, he would probably not start any physical affection; he would wait for you to do that since he doesn't want to scare you away so soon. 

which leads me to my next point, communication. compunicate, please. I am begging you. because he won't until you do. Which means if you want him to kiss you more, say it. He'll try his best. 

— He just wants to make you happy.

— He likes to be the 'big spoon' most of the time. 

— He loves you a lot. But sometimes he just isn't ready to do something, so please be patient. 

— He usually really would want to; it's just that it might take him some time to get used to the idea.

— He also needs space at times. I don't think he's abusive, but he may yell at you if he's really mad when you guys fight, which isn't a lot since he's kind of a pushover, but around the time he starts yelling, it would be the best time to walk away from each other and just breathe.

— He would never propose to hurt you, though. He just couldn't. 

— He's also most likely said 'I love you' first, but he didn't realize he said it until you pointed it out.

— The bottom line is that he has issues but is willing to try and fix them for you because he loves you that much. 

Kyle Broflovski:

— I see him as a hopeless romantic; he would definitely bring flowers to the first date. 

— Kyle most likely doesn't have dating experience, unlike Stan, who at least dated Wendy. but that doesn't mean he won't try his best to be a good boyfriend.

— He also wants a long-term relationship because he dates to marry, so if you manage to get him to date you, You guys are getting married sooner or later.

— He's really sweet, and he's actually pretty charming.

— He would be slightly less jealous than Stan, but jealous nonetheless. 

— I feel like he only gets jealous when someone is actively flirting with you.

— He's willing and might throw hands if whoever is flirting disrespects you, of course. I mean, he's from Jersey.

— He would most likely only start thinking about it when he notices that you're uncomfortable, but he wouldn't just do it on a whim.

— The list thing really screwed with his self-image. He is slightly insecure about his features. He thinks his nose is too big. but it's okay because all you have to do is smack some sense into him. 

— Or you could just tell him you love him, whichever works best for you.

— He was more awkward around you when his feelings for you started before you guys were dating. 

— He doesn't really know what to say or how to flirt, but once you start dating, he's more confident and flirtatious.

— I don't think he really likes PDA; maybe some handholding and a kiss on the cheek here and there, but more than that is just gross to him. 

— Mainly because he doesn't like people staring at him while he's making out with you or whatever you two are doing.

— But just because he doesn't like to do it in public doesn't mean he doesn't do it in private. When you two are alone, he is all over you. Unless you don't want him to be, but most of the time you would be making out or something to make up for lost time when you were outside.

— As I said before, he dates to marry, so when you're in a relationship with him, he'll do anything to try and make it work. Even if you two fight a lot. 

— There aren't a lot of fights with Kyle, but when they are, they are big. 

— Kyle has anger issues, so he may insult you a lot when you fight, but don't take it too personally; he's just trying to get you as mad as he is so he doesn't feel like he's arguing with a wall.

— He is also pretty dominant. not in a sexual way, though; he just likes to make decisions and take the lead. It doesn't really matter who you are; just relax and let him take care of everything.

— Anyway, to end this section off, Kyle is a hopeless romantic who just wants someone with whom he can spend the rest of his life.

Kenny Mccormick:

— Kenny is very flirty. We know this. He often flirts with a lot of girls, but he's not just a playboy who does it with every girl he thinks is hot. He does have feelings. And if you were lucky enough, he might actually have those feelings for you.

— At first, I thought he wasn't really planning on anything serious when he first started dating you. 

— He mostly did it out of fear of getting left out. Almost everyone in his class was dating someone, and he didn't want to be the loser who was single, so he picked you because you were funny and pretty good-looking.

— But then he actually started liking you. He started noticing a bunch of things about you.

— Like how you smiled when he made his stupid jokes and how you always comforted him about not being able to buy you anything expensive because he doesn't have a lot of money.

— He realized that he might actually want to make your relationship a long-term thing. 

— Kenny is really into physical touch but doesn't know how to express it, so he often comes off as flirty.

— I think he has severe commitment issues, mainly because of all the emotional baggage he has tucked away, but that discussion is for another day.

So I think Neuvillette would just be A Mess

He's not very good at figuring out emotions, particularly feelings of romance and love, because he always assumed that he would never fall in love

so when he does fall in love, it takes him a while to understand what he's actually feeling (probably after much studying and discussion with the melusines)

imo i feel like he'd be a bit conflicted bc as the chief justice, he feels like he shouldn't have such personal feelings for anyone, but on the other hand, even dragons feel lonely and want love, right?

he would observe you (discreetly and probably unconsciously), memorizing everything about you. He might unknowingly let the things he learned slip into conversation, causing much awkwardness

he finds himself thinking of you at random occasions and associating certain things with you

he noticeably softens when he's interacting with you. it's obvious to everyone except you two

would give you the most sincere and heartfelt compliments, but it doesn't even count as flirting for him, it's just him being himself

even though the chief justice is known to be reclusive, for some reason he would suddenly start frequenting the place where you work. He doesn't even stay there that long, but just makes some awkward and extremely polite conversation (doesn't show it on his face but he's super nervous and self-conscious)

speaking of self-consciousness neuvillette is pretty self-aware about the difference between himself and humans in regards to feelings. He's aware that he's not always the most knowledgeable about human emotions and behavior, which can cause misunderstandings between him and others, but he tries his best to make up for it

When Neuvillette is in love (after relationship)

congratulations for finally reaching this stage

i think neuvillette would be a latent romantic. As in, he has all the potential, but he's never been in a situation where that potential can be explored

but once he's in a relationship...prepare to be swept off your feet

he loves taking you to all the hidden, secret places only he knows about, like an out-of-the-way coffee shop, an inconspicuous nook with a great view of the mountains, maybe even an underwater ruin he really enjoys

will probably take you out on a boating ride

he also enjoys just spending time with you back at his home (hyv please show us where he leaves. i just wanna know)

basically, he'd prefer to spend time with you privately bc he's well aware of the tabloids and paparazzi and doesn't want your life to be ruined by them

does a lot of preparation for your dates. like, an absurd amount, because he would hate it if anything inconveniences you or makes you feel uncomfortable

will continue to say the most romantic and poetic things with the straightest face you've ever seen

i think he'd be drawn to someone with a strong sense of justice, someone who has strong beliefs and sticks by them, even if they clash with his own

he would be the type who would welcome being challenged and debated; he would find it refreshing honestly

someone with a similar temperament to him would work, but he'd also find himself unexpectedly attracted to a more fiery, outspoken person

big bonus points if they're nice to the melusines as well

Yandere Mermaid!Neuvillette

i don't know if you're talking about this one but i'll assume you are

hmm i don't know i feel like i put everything i wanted into that fic

so during your weekly meetings, i think neuvi would have moments where he'd imagine himself coming onto land and being with you there, i think he'd also be grudgingly curious about the human world especially after hearing your stories about it, but his sense of responsibility towards his people and his distaste for humans are strong, so his desire to turn you into a mermaid wins out

the underwater garden: he really did believe you'd feel better and that you'd fall in love with him (or at least act warmer towards him) when you saw it

after that fight (?) at the end: i think y/n kinda gave in because they realized that if they didn't accept their new life and the different morals of the mermaids, they would eventually go mad, since they were never escaping. so afterwards, y/n would throw themselves into getting familiar with mermaid customs (aided by neuvi) and just try their best to forget their old life. would probably be very clingy towards him bc ironically, neuvi is a part of their old life

neuvi, for his part, would be happy to see his mate finally accept him, but deep down he knows that it isn't out of real love and that his feelings will probably never be requited in the way he wants them to be. but he decides not to think about that bc having you broken but next to him is better than having you happy but separated from him

so yeah it's a very warped, co-dependent relationship

I've been trying to think recently why I find the age gap with V and Kerry to be endearing, when normally I feel an age gap over 10 years is problematic. Here's what I think:

(Long rambling ahead along with minor spoilers maybe)

There is a power imbalance between V and Kerry, in multiple ways. Kerry is much older, yes, but he also makes a lot more money. Like shit tons of money. The first time I romanced Kerry, I thought the romance arch was lacking because of the way Kerry never initiated. However, taking into account that V is 23, Kerry's tendency to wait for V to make the first move actually feels very appropriate.

Kerry's dealing with a lot of mixed emotions about Johnny being back. The fact that he never processed his inferiority complex while Johnny was alive, then as soon as Johnny died he jumped right into an ego-driven, spite-fueled solo career that took him straight to the top, and now Johnny's back as a digital parasite? And Kerry has a crush on his host?? Wild.

I think that's ONE of the reasons Kerry doesn't flirt with V outright: he's super confused about the way he feels about V, and whether or not those feelings are overlapping with the way he feels about Johnny. Is he so excited to see Johnny that he could just smooch him (platonic)? Is he simply grateful to V for pulling him out of a depressive episode? Is he still a little horny for Johnny like when they first formed Samurai? Is being attracted to someone 70 years younger than him the first sign of a life crisis starting? Maybe Kerry would rather be safe than sorry, and not act on his feelings for V while he's processing all that other stuff.

This shifts the power back into V's hands, who really doesn't have a lot of control over how the media will interpret their relationship, even if it remains platonic (vs. Kerry who has lawyers, and past experience with the media and dating while in the spotlight). This gives V the opportunity to decide if there are any romantic feelings there, instead of falling for the advances of someone very influential and rich. Those two facts could very easily convince someone that their starstruck reaction was actually love. This way, if V is in control of initiation, Kerry can be sure that he's not coercing V into starting anything they may not fully want; a relationship with ramifications V may not be fully aware of. He can be sure V's decision was not inadvertently rushed by anything Kerry may have said/done.

In our world, age gaps in gay relationships are not treated the same as they are in straight relationships, especially when it comes to gay men. I am not saying this is good or bad. But, it is a "trope", one could say, that younger gay men sometimes gravitate toward men many years older than them. I personally feel this is two fold: older gay men who are out publicly may find it hard to find others in their age range who are unashamed of their queerness, due to internalized social pressure. And younger gay men may find it difficult to navigate their sexuality on their own as it applies to daily life (specifically in American culture) and seek the guidance of veteran gays. If we translate that trend into the Cyberpunk world, where life expectancy is DECADES longer than ours, then perhaps Night Citizens wouldn't bat an eye at someone in their 20s dating someone in their 80s. (I'm sure that gap is stretching things a bit even for Cyberpunk standards, but maybe 30s dating 60s isn't uncommon.)

Another aspect of this is something they mention out right during Boat Drinks: Kerry doesn't act his age. He's getting there, but he's got the maturity of someone around V's age. I truly believe his stunted growth as a person is due to being constantly discredited and invalidated by Johnny. I mean, Kerry doesn't seem to have much in common with his former band mates, who have all moved on with their lives and found their versions of success (except maybe Henry). The people he gets along with best are a group of 20-something pop stars from a different part of the world, and V, also in their 20s. Kerry has been trying to prove himself for so long that his personality got stuck somewhere between starting Samurai and Johnny dying.

Lastly, I just wanna point out that V and Kerry's relationship as presented to us in game, with no outside context or deliberation, is inherently problematic. The age gap, the power imbalance, the wealth disparity, V possibly being a symptom of Kerry's three-quarter life crisis or a rebound or the second best thing to Johnny; Johnny being in the picture at all. A relationship doesn't have to be perfect for someone to like it, and it certainly doesn't reflect what they find acceptable in their own relationships. It's all fiction, it's all fantasy. If you want to theorize about how Kerry and V actually have a super healthy relationship, that's awesome! If you love the idea that they just kind of wound up together and this isn't a permanent situation for either of them, that's great! If you believe the relationship is completely toxic and you're loving the drama of it all, that's cool too!

With what the game has given us, and the fact that Kerry's writers' work could be interpreted in endless ways, I think the age gap was handled in such a way that it can be excused (or even played into) if you feel it works with your headcanon, or used as a catalyst for drama if that suits your imagination better. What's important is that it never feels predatory. And to me, that's good writing.

With my personal headcanon for my oc of V, I've decided his relationship with Kerry is perfectly passable. They're not a perfect couple, they lack communication skills and often butt heads over the other's tendency to put work over their relationship (both of them stubbornly insisting only the other one has a problem), but I like them that way.

Ok ok ok...

Well, there are a couple little things I guess as far as 'deleted' scenes.

I was originally planning on having more heroes in the overcity alongside Scar and then having several other undercity vigilantes and really leaning into that concept. For example Cleo was going to be an older undercity vigilante who worked in the overcity and was helping Grian out as a mentor-type. There was also plans to have guy-in-the-chair Doc, and have him and Cleo be the two people who raised the avian trio. Alongside that, Pearl, Jimmy, Bdubs, and others were going to be vigilantes as well with various gimmicks/power sets.

But then as I was writing I realized I wanted to expand the AU, so I decided to lean more heavily into the idea of having various pairings that all had their own storylines. First up was Flower Husbands, and as I was considering them I decided on the route I ended up taking, with Grian being the only vigilante and having a support network behind him in the form of Pearl and Jimmy. Then it just sorta spiraled. 😆

As for other rambling about stuff I deleted/changed, I've always shipped Doctho but it's kind of a rarepair so I wasn't originally going to include it. Like I said, I was originally going to have Doc and Cleo be the ones who raised the avian trio, with Bdubs and Tango in that mix. The more I thought about it though, I decided that I wanted to have Doctho be the parental figures for the avian trio!

For Doctho, I originally was just planning to drop them as sort of a background thing and not really give them much attention. Just that they were the parental figures for the avian trio. But then people started saying in comments how much they loved Doctho in this AU and that they wanted to see the worldbuilding expand, and learn more about the undercity and it's history, and I thought the best way to do that would be through Doc and Etho and their history together!

And so we got 'Bleeding Sweetheart' and that was really when the ball started rolling on having this AU have an actual plot that is being driven forward by the characters instead of it just being a world for all these characters to exist in. Let me be clear, TTSBC will always be a character driven narrative. If anything is happening, it's for the sake of driving their relationships, both romantically and for the found families we've met, such as the Oddball Family, Cleo and Bdubs, and the Empires family whom we are getting to know right now in 'Blessing in Disguise'!

Anything else to share...I dunno, there's a ton of stuff in this AU. What I have posted so far isn't even half of it which is kinda ridiculous, huh? Theres lots I have planned for the AU! I know right now Traveling Thieves is getting a lot of my attention because of Febuwhump, but I'm really excited to get back to working on TTSBC and continuing it forward! He researches ADHD in AFAB people on his own time (and rages quite a few times that there's so little information compared to ADHD in AMAB), but he finally understands by the end of it.

➤ The idea that he blew up at you for things out of your control makes him feel ashamed, especially when some of those things (like info-dumping) are signs of affection. So you don't see him for a while, partially due to some unhealthy self-punishment on his end and also because he's trying to come up with a solution; that being a way to make it up to you, of course, not "fix" you.

➤ When Redson stops avoiding you, he takes you out on a date with all your favorite activities and thoroughly apologizes to you. He promises to change his behaviors to accommodate and support you.

➤ (Which might have made you cry, considering you've always been treated like you're the problem.)

➤ True to his word, Redson changes a lot. He leaves little notes for you as reminders, sets alarms for you, helps you finish or do tasks you don't have the energy for, etc. He even starts encouraging your fixation rambles, reading up on the source material so he can ask questions.

➤ He also does his very best to read up on masking and burnout so he can a.) keep you from going there or b.) recognize the signs when you are there and help you. I like to imagine he made a sensory room for you that has all your favorite stuff and you can just go there to chill and unwind.

➤ He's also super protective over you. If people make fun of your stims, say you talk a lot, undermine your sensory issues, etc., he will DESTROY them. No way in hell is he letting you be disrespected like that. Verbal smackdown, here we come.

➤ Ultimately, it's a learning process. But it's one he's more than willing to thoroughly explore for you.

➤ Since Macaque thrives under routine/structure, he often handles reminders. He also keeps you on track, verbally and physically, if you have stuff to do. ALSO is super on you about food, since he likes cooking.

➤ Macaque's experienced dozens of burnouts in his long life, so he knows how awful they are. He can sniff out a burnout a mile away so I'd like to think that you don't experience many while with him. The dojo's pretty chill like 90% of the time due to his own sensory issues so it's a good place to unwind and relax.

➤ You guys have picked up so many phrases from each other. He'll be working on a script for a shadowplay while you're cleaning and he'll just hear you laugh and go, "wow, didn't see that one comin'." It definitely flusters him that he's part of your echolalia.

➤ Macaque rambles to you about theatrical pieces from various cultures. If you introduce him to new ones, tell him something he doesn't know about a piece he's already familar with, etc. he'll kiss you istg. Anyway this is to say the feeling is obviously mutual and he probably ends up getting into some of the stuff you tell him about!

➤ You guys mutually bully each other lmao. You'll be trying to do some work, get to talking to him about whatever comes to you, and then suddenly it's three hours later. You're like "FUCK" meanwhile he just laughs at you (you get him back, of course, and it's all in good fun).

Oh for sure I do!

I think they were probably paired up together for missions over the span of a couple of years, and had all this romantic & sexual tension that they convinced themselves was all in their heads, before they actually got together. They had long enough to build a friendship, a partnership, and they're both afraid enough of the consequences (both personally and professionally) that they don't want to even consider making a move.

I always imagine it as something goes wrong on a mission, someone gets hurt, or maybe they have a spectacular success and are high on adrenaline, and Curt impulsively kisses Owen because hey, this guy is attractive and Curt has a crush. Owen is just kinda stunned by it, and Curt pulls away like "oh shit he's gonna kill me," but really Owen has been infatuated with Curt for ages and just assumed Curt wasn't interested.

I could see Owen having an inkling that Curt is into men, but assuming that if someone as cocky and confident as Curt hasn't made a move, it must mean he isn't interested. So Owen has just been pathetically pining for him. I think Curt has been pining too, but because he just kind of assumes in that young closeted queer way that nobody else is "sick" like him, that confiding in anyone will get him in trouble. And in my headcanon, Owen is bisexual, so perhaps he's had affairs with women and Curt assumes that means he isn't interested in men.

Anyways, I love thinking about them in a relationship, even though it breaks my heart. Because realistically Curt and Owen probably only saw each other a handful of times per year, so everything they manage to build together is based on these little stolen moments. I think they start casually hooking up, killing time on missions, but it very quickly becomes something more. It almost has to. You don't get a lot of time to date as a spy, and even less as a gay spy. So even just the act of repeatedly hooking up by default sorta makes them the most important relationship in each other's lives- especially because they were such good friends first.

I personally don't think pre-fall curtwen were as toxic as a lot of people think. I don't really see any evidence of that in A1P1. I mean they both seem to be little freaks who get off on danger and violence, and I'm sure constant distance and secrecy and danger took their toll, but for me A1P1 shows two men who love and respect each other, even if they bicker and mess with each other.

One thought I keep coming back to is that they sneak off for movie dates, mostly because I love classic films and get really into imagining them reacting to the many gay subtext films of the early 50s. I think they sit in the darkest part of the theater and only their legs are touching, and maybe if there's nobody there one of them will put his hand on the other's thigh and it's almost a real date.

I think they'll go to bars- not underground gay bars specifically, but bars where a lot of queer people just happen to congregate, and sit at a booth or a table, and drink together and find little ways to be discreetly affectionate.

I think Curt thinks it's adorable that Owen is a kind of a nerd, and tries his best to pay attention when Owen goes on a ramble or a rant about boring tech stuff (but gets bored and starts trying to make out with him instead). I think Owen is fascinated with how Curt's mind works, how he's seemingly so chaotic and disorganized, but in a crisis he is absolutely cool and calm and comes up with clever, creative solutions for problems.

I think they loved each other, they knew each other so well that one could barely finish a sentence before the other picked it up. I think they were a bit codependent, and the distance started to gnaw away at them towards the end, but they were each other's favorite person in the world. They trusted each other more than anyone else on Earth. They missed each other desperately, but tried their best to put on a brave face every time they had to part. I think they sent each other coded love notes and presents and found excuses to request each other on missions. I think some of their pillow talk included imagining little scenarios where they could run off together and never have to be apart again, and it starts as a fun thing but gradually gets sadder and sadder for them as they realize how impossible that would be.

In which I ramble about Morse again :D

Oh Morse. The endless dilemma that is this: he constantly feels like he's been abandoned and is alone, from more or less the age of 12 for the rest of his life, but from the moment Fred Thursday chooses him in the pilot of Endeavour, he isn't. From then on he's loved, and constantly has people in his life who have no intention of leaving it; who either don't leave it (Max, Strange, maybe Dorothea, perhaps Joan though that's complicated, Lewis once he arrives), who do so without remotely wanting to (Fred and Win), or who just do for reasons that don't mean any lack of love for him (Jakes, Trewlove, Fred and Win as far as Carshall, Bright, Sam, I assume McNutt). Um, or who he himself fucks up towards so he loses them that way (Monica, Adele). Not to mention the existence of Joyce! He doesn't find a long-term romantic partner, let alone someone he can marry and have children with. But he's always got at least a couple of people who adore him kicking around. <3

I so love the moment in s9 of Endeavour when Fred points out that Jakes always thought a lot of Morse, and of course Morse disputes that, because Jakes to start with was an absolute dick towards him. But as Fred says, Jakes turned up on Morse's doorstep! (I think that exchange really is key: I mean, sure, Fred can be an optimist, but when we see everything through Morse's eyes (which is mostly what we're shown)... oh my do we miss things. Morse doesn't see how much Jakes' opinion of him grows and changes, and that we are given an insight into; what else doesn't he see which we therefore have to infer?

Due to a) his own trauma, b) circumstances, c) the fact that he is monumentally bad at receiving love (and can get really unnerved when people try, so they stop trying), d) that most of the people who love him are monumentally bad at making their feelings clear even when c) isn't in play... oh, but his belief that he's abandoned and alone is utterly sincere and painfully understandable, even while it's also sometimes frustrating to watch. "I'm being left alone, no one I'm close to will still be in Oxford!" MAX. IS. RIGHT. THERE. MORSE. "Thursday is going and I doubt he ever loved me." His heart is breaking, Morse, you're both just idiots and he did the worst fuck-up of his life while trying to save his son.

And honestly, that's... I mean, it's desperately relatable, isn't it? We've all been there, or at least, a lot of us have. In that space where we can't see the love that's in front of us, and where we see rejection where there's none. His trauma growing up and then at college, all the appalling lack of emotional intelligence or openness among, well, everybody around him. The fact that the people he gets on best with are all ultimately really fricking traumatised too and have their own Stuff. There are some agonising mistakes all round, but...

... but ultimately, Max was with Morse as long as he could be. And Lewis was a loyal friend to him from almost the first moment they met. And Strange was with him when he died.

And no one can tell me that Fred Thursday didn't miss him for the whole rest of his life. (Nor that they never wrote to each other! I still think they did. ;-) I also would be unsurprised if Morse gets letters from Trewlove, Bright, and Jakes. :-) )

unsurprisingly, he is.. a bit of a dick! generally cold and silent and will probably look dazed when you show them affection. he's very dense as well, subtle little things go RIGHT over his head.

he has his struggles with emotional intimacy as well, gift giving and acts of service end up being their primary love languages. he loves to give you gifts of little things he creates and has definitely made a little machine guy for you! it doesn't do much though, just flashes some little messages of care.

continuing on his machinery, they spend a LOT of time on those things. its one of the only things you'll get him to talk about for more than a few sentences - absolutely in-love with the way robotics work. that being said, they will 100% ramble to you. they're normally not that emotional, but it makes him really happy when someone listens to him about his robotics. he'll go out of his way to help you understand, even!

more physical stuff, their mandibles do get in the way sometimes. the ones on his mouth are a little rough but kept clean, so they aren't too bad when it comes to kisses. the head ones though can be a little uncomfortable, having to slot yourself in-between them and they've scratched against you a few times. they've never hurt you though, only tickle a little, caused for a few funny moments.

cuddling, hugs, all that stuff with them they're INSANELY open for. will he ever ask for it himself? no, but its almost like he can sense when you're about to ask with how fast he says yes. he might be a teensy bit touch starved, but you'll never get them to admit that lmao

you, 100%, WILL catch him staring. he is captivated in you, that much is obvious - over and over again staring at you with the most love struck eyes before jumping and quickly looking away every time you catch him. he'll play it off like it hasn't happened every time, don't even get him to TRY and admit it you will FAIL

more of a detail, but he chitters a lot when you both cuddle - more or less mumbling to him. yet, it makes little rumbles in his chest and its obvious when he's doing it. you aren't supposed to know what he's saying, its in his native language of course - but its all sweet nothings. he does it subconsciously, but its cute nonetheless.

to end on a rather soft note, he loves you more than you ever know no matter what. you infect his mind, his work, his hobbies and he hates it in a way - but all in all he doesn't want it gone. :}

I always see people saying stuff like "omg they totally had sex between those scenes" and creating fics about that, but even if I think it would be kinda funny and interesting, I also think it contradicts a lot about how the show established their relationship was like at the time. Will just fully accepted Hannibal and Hannibal just truly gave up control after the fall

Yes they are obviously very horny and desperate for each other but I think that even after the fall they wouldn't immediately get romantically (being officially a couple and stuff) nor sexually involved

I think they would need to really get used to being vulnerable around each other before doing anything of the sorts. And in this time after the fall they both know they're together in some non traditional way without ever really talking about it. As the time passes they eventually would get to the "what are we?" conversation but that would take a lot of time and a lot of drinking

I like to imagine that after the fall they run away and go live together (obviously) and they would behave like a couple but not exactly be one. They would slowly start doing things like drinking, changing clothes, sleeping and bathing together and stuff like that but it would all be non sexual and they'd both take their time getting used to doing that

Because let's be honest, neither of them have any idea of how to behave and how their relationship would work and they're both rediscovering each other in an entirely different way, and they're both so scared of separating again

Could you possibly write some angst headcanons for a relationship with Ralph from dbh? It's difficult for me to find content of imagining a relationship with him that isn't him being a sad cinnamon roll, which honestly is partly true but what about his outbursts and moments of coping? He's often babied in the fandom despite many of his interactions in game are based on his not so great emotional state and how his past treatment made him skittish and highly defensive of others!

He's a traumatized dude at his core and I just really wanna how that would affect a relationship-- especially ome with physical touch as I feels like some days would be better than others..though the reader would be there with patience because to get to that point would already take alot of it since it obviously isn't easy to get in a relationship with Ralph with what he's been through due to humans in the past

No, it's alright. I've been meaning to write a ralph relationship headcanons post for a while. Thank you for reminding me lol. This is going to be a general ralph relationship headcanons post, but I assure you there will be angst hurt/comfort stuff.

Romantic:

To be honest, I can't think of a particular scenario where you two would meet, but it'd be tense.

For whatever reason it may be for a meeting, he is terrified. He's extreamly skittish and it dosnt need to be stated how fearful he is of humans.

And for good reason.

He was hurt. Very badly by humans and he dosnt want to take that risk again.

Honestly, when you first met, he probably attacked.

Well, not at first. He'd see you and hide. But you're just to curious or captivated by him and decide to persist.

Eventually, he'd feel trapped in some way, and that's when he'd attack.

It was not a fun first meeting. And honestly, take some force to get him off of you.

It que the awkward silence where you're both trying to process what just happened.

When you finally start to talk, he's farther back from you and clearly terrified. You try to explain the situation and how you meant no harm.

It takes a LOT of convincing. Lots of convincing to just get it through to him to let him know you didn't want to hurt him that day.

After an awkward conversation and even some stiff small talk by the end of the encounter he was... intrested. He still didn't think he could trust you, God no. But he felt... curious.

A human didn't want to attack him on sight? Fascinating.

It was a very long process for him to trust you enough to call you a friend.

Keeping distance and moving slowly was something you took note of.

He'd want to, dear God, he'd want to, but he just couldn't get himself to.

Kind of.

You'd pick up on it quickly when he started feeling things for you. He's not good at hiding his emotions in the slightest.

Aside from body language with the growing amount of blushing he'd do, you'd eventually pick up on what he'd mutter to himself every now and then.

Most of what you'd pick up on would him be "just do it." Or "no I couldn't." Or "kiss me." Little statements under his breath that only confirmed what you thought.

You tried to give him time. Waiting it out and giving him time to build courage to ask you out himself. Even throwing increasingly obvious hints that you liked him back.

He never got the courage.

So you asked him out.

When you did it took him a moment to process what just happened.

"You want Ralph?" And "you are talking to ralph, right?"

He does not believe it. Him? Of all people? Him?

It takes a little convincing you aren't screwing with him.

When he finally lets it set in dude, get ready. He's not going to let you go for a while.

For the next few days, he refuses to let go of you.

Eventually, you're able to pry him off of you and get it though that, "Hey, I need space."

He understands and honestly feels a little bad that he was overwhelming you.

He's still very clingy, though. He's almost always touching you if he can. Holding your hand, hip, waist, knee. On your back, in your hair, looped around a loose part of clothing...

He just needs assurance you aren't leaving.

That being said though, I imagine he's a little jumpy when you try to touch him.

At least at first.

He craves contact and didn't know he needed it until he had it.

But even though he trusts you enough to touch you, being touched is a different experience. It's scary. The last time it happened, it didn't end well.

When you tried to wrap your arm around him, he was startled at first. He tried to welcome it, but instead, a growing dread quickly started to climb until he panicked and pulled away.

It caught you off guard but you were used to this kind of stuff.

Patience is a very key part of this relationship. He's not used to kindness and it shows.

His panic attacks often feel like they come at random. Small things can dig memories back up. This was a big problem at the start of your relationship, but the longer it lasts, the more it fades.

Loud sounds, a touch without warning, quick movements.

When this happens, just keep distance for his sake and move slowly and calmly.

When he's comfortable with being held, it really helps.

I feel like most of the time, he's just needs distance when the panic attacks start but but every now and then, when he needs to be held, he needs to he held.

Blankets help, too. I feel like even if he doesn't want to be held, offering him a blanket helps a lot. A sense of security goes a long way.

He's incredibly insecure about his appearance. That much is obvious.

Try not to let your eyes linger on his scars, he'll feel tense .

He's one of the prettiest guys in the game (in my humble opinion), but if you tell him he's pretty, he's not going to believe it.

"No. Ralph is ugly. Ralph is broken." Is something along the lines he'd say.

It took a very long time for him to even accept this as a possibility.

But when he did start to accept it, it felt... nice. Perhaps even makes him blush.

Lots of kisses help, to be honest.

Most of Ralph's favorite parts of a relationship is just talking, to be honest. He loves to talk to you.

Talking and gift giving are some of his major love languages.

He feels safe talking to you, and he can just talk for hours about whatever he's interested in. And he'll listen to you as much as you'd like. Your voice is very calming to him. Just expect some interruptions. He's going to ask questions.

He'd gift you all sorts of things. Little flowers and trinkets he finds. I imagine if you off handedly mention your favorite flower, he'll start to grow it.

Mention any interest of yours off handedly, and he'll keep it in mind. You'll be surprised with all sorts of gifts related to that.

He really likes physical touch and words of affirmation from you. It means a lot.

I feel like in the start of your relationship you'd have to give him little warnings before you touch him.

"I'm going to hold your hand." Or "is it okay if I touch your back?" Or just pausing before touching him to give him time to notice before you do so.

On the times you didn't know or forgotten, depending on how far in the relationship you are, he gets very tense, maybe even a little outburst but he quickly gathers himself, immediately apologizing.

But when you're farther into the relationship, you don't really have to do that anymore, he actually welcomes it.

Like I said, when he's comfortable with touch it's hard for him to reject it.

Dates to botanical gardens. Hikes and bird watching. All that good naturey shit.

But if you'd prefer to stay inside, I feel like he'd like to cook for you, and you two could watch movies.

I don't know why but I feel like he'd like trivia?

Idk I'm trying to come up with other hobbies and intrest for him that isn't gardening.

Cooking. It takes him a moment to realize what humans actually eat and he's a bit stubborn about it in the beginning but when you finally get it through to him what actually food is he gets very passionate about it and wants to learn all about it.

He becomes a very good chef, though he gets strange and experimental at times with flavors.

I feel like he'd also just like music a lot. I imagine he likes to explore different genres, and when you two are listening to his playlist, it's incredibly jarring to hop from comfy synth to Phillip glass to oldies to funk. It's all over the place.

For some reason, I'm also imagining he likes to build little stuff. Whether it's cardboard houses or Legos or sculpting, I imagine he likes to craft somehow.

Maybe bug pinning or vulture culture?

Ralph loves cuddling.

Little spoon is his favorite of corse. It makes him feel safe and loved.

But he also enjoys being big spoon from time to time, it feels nice for him to have some sense of "having." I guess. Like "wow they are mine. This is so nice."

I feel like he'd want to be a dad.

Whether you want that or not is a different topic, but if you bring it up to ralph that you do, he'd be extatic.

He's talk about this little girl he met when he lived in that abandoned house, how he wanted to he like a father to her but it was better for her to go.

Ralph is just very dedicated and caring.

And protective.

People often write him as a giant coward which, I mean fair.

But.

Are we forgetting when ralph threw himself on Connor to give kara and Alice an escape?

He will protect those he loves in a heartbeat. Without second thought, he will he there.

If someone uninvited tries some shit he will not hesitate to kick the shit out of them.

When you need comfort he'll be there.

There was a big patch where you knew each other and he didn't know how to comfort you.

He's never really had to do that before and he panicked a little but when you had your first break down moment in front of him.

He tried to help but it was clear he was awkward and didn't know what to do.

But after you have a conversion where ralph asks you how he can help you when you get like that things get much better.

Very good at listening to you and what you need and will deliver on that.

Need to be held? He will do it without hesitation.

Just need him to ge near you? He'll do that too.

He'll talk if you want or stay silent or leave. He won't argue. He just hates to see you feel that way and will do anything to make you feel better.

I feel like he'd call you would be "Ralph's sweet rose"

Sexual:

Body worship.

As previously stated, he is heavily insecure about his appearance, and something that makes him feel better is body worship.

Just having him lay down and kissing him from head to toe makes him a flustered mess.

And praising. Need I say more?

Praising gets him all flustered and calling him a "good boy" will make him go crazy.

Hate to break it to ya'll, but I don't know how comfortable he is with a lot of kinky stuff. Impact play and bondage are big nonos. Weapons are off the table of corse.

He might like some light edging, though?

I don't know, I don't imagine ralph as the kinkiest sort.

But he still has a generous sex drive.

I also said he's very touchy-feely when he's used to you.

His hands wonder when he's needy. He hates to outright ask, so he lets his hands tell you what mood he's in.

He probably has a thing for breeding. Even if it's not possible for him to get you pregnant, the idea is enough to make his head spin.

I'm also imagining him as a hair tugger.

I'm not sure what Buddie stuff we might get in this next ep but one thing I wanted to talk about is if something like a kiss were to happen it's important that we don't attack the show for it. I understand not wanting a cheating storyline (even though for clarification Buck isn't in an exclusive relationship with T*mmy as of yet). And definitly as a someone who is bi myself I completely get not wanting to see bisexual stereotypes perpetuated.

Still when it comes to tv they often will do love triangle/cheating storylines for drama. There's also the fact that tv shows often handle cheating differently than the real world. On a tv show a kiss might be handled differently than say if someone had sex with someone who wasn't their partner. I'm not saying they both aren't messed up but look at how the show handled Buck kissing Lucy vs Hen sleeping with Eva. Buck and Taylor didn't break up after she found out about Lucy but Karen and Hen did separate for a bit after what Hen did.

I'm not saying I think cheating is okay. I don't want Buddie to start out this way I just know it's a super common trope. But regardless I think as a fandom we really need to be a positive presence on all of the social media platforms rooting for Buddie to happen.

The B/T fans are out in large numbers right now being very vocal for the ship they want to stick around, some even want this to be Buck's endgame ship. They definitely aren't going to be happy if Buck and Eddie kiss because they know it threatens their ship. So I'm sure many of them will speak out about it.

We can't be adding to the backlash of a (possible) Buddie kiss by leaving negative comments and making post after post, some of which people involved with the show will inevitably see (remember Oliver has stated multiple times they see things we post online).

I get that there's these messed up stereotypes that bisexual people can't make up our minds that all we're ever gonna do is cheat on the people we care about. I get that if a cheating storyline comes about it will be upsetting for a lot of you. Again I don't want this to be how Buddie starts but at the same time if we are out there attacking the show for the first Buddie kiss it will look VERY bad for us and our ship and will only keep us further from canon Buddie. If Buddie do kiss we need to be encouraging the show to continue their storyline. Because you best believe that any and all interaction between T*mmy and Buck is going to garner positive engagement from those fans and it is only going to give Tim and the writers more incentive to keep him around.

This post might just be me rambling for nothing because nothing of consequence may even happen between Buddie in the next ep but I wanted to get this out just in case. I do believe Tim has a plan for Buddie regardless of what is being said in his interviews but that doesn't meant fan engagement can't alter things. The out pourting of love and support we've given the show for years for Buddie is part of why bi Buck has even happened. We want the show to know that if they're moving in a romantic direction with Buddie we support it. You also have to realize there's a lot of people right now complaining about Buck even being bi at all. For all the positive feedback they're getting for bi Buck ABC and Oliver etc are also dealing with a good amount of backlash to this story too. I just think we don't need to add to that.

Thoughts on Drinks in S2

I thought I might put together some of my rambling thoughts on all the drinks that appear in S2 in general, since there are far more of them than food. I believe the hot chocolate is just as important as the coffee choices and some just make interesting comments.

Tea

Tea only makes a brief appearance, notably when Muriel visits the bookshop and meets Azriaphale. It is an introduction to the ways of humans. The only other tea we see are the offered herbal teas of peppermint (stimulating) or chamomile (a relaxant) to Maggie by Nina, and we don't know which one Maggie chooses.

Sherry

The request for sherry in the pub is, quite simply, hilarious, even without the Lady Bracknell ad lib. In Australia, where I am from, and I believe the UK as well, sherry has a long tradition as a ladies drink. And one wouldn't be adverse to have a nip or two (or more) while doing the cooking with it. If you haven't seen The Importance of Being Ernest performed, not just read it, you really must make the effort. (Coincidentally, I was taken as a teenager to see a version where Lady Bracknell was played for comedic effect by a man in drag. I loved it, and have never forgotten it, or the cucumber sandwiches.)

Wine

In S2E1 we have Nina reaching for the comfort wine while trapped in the coffee shop. She offers Maggie some, but she declines, and offers "No judgement."

Then we have some romantic wine in 1941, and some potentially romantic wine back in the present. Or is it?

Why don't you just talk to Gabriel, suggests Aziraphale. Alright, I will! declares Crowley, pausing only to take the wine bottle with him. The next thing we see is him ready to pass his Judgement on the amnesiac archangel.

Edit: I missed quite a bit of wine my first time around! There was two lots of wine in the Job minisode, and that was quite judgemental as well.

What, you didn't bring the wine, angel?

Then later in the cellar, while the storm rages, Crowley does find some wine and proceeds to enjoy the fruits of his demonic work while having a moral argument with Aziraphale.

Hot Chocolate

Ah! Ohohoh! The hot chocolate! Jim-short-for-James hot chocolate! I think it is very telling he is offered it by both Aziraphale and Crowley. The first gif sees him drinking while overlooking the Outside and a reflection of "give me coffee" in the window (this is the start of S2E3.) He is walking a different road to the others, one protected and facilitated by A & C. The coffee isn't for him, its for Other People. He gets his own special stash of the Good Stuff, labeled and everything. Privilege for the Frog Prince, sheesh.

Edit: Several times I've tried to explain the Choice of the Hot Chocolate, and I've actually replied to someone here about it in the mean time in a way that I'm happy with - here is most it, below:

Most of us get the two options, coffee, or death. But Jim has been given a third option, and he has grabbed it enthusiastically with both hands. Aziraphale has handed it to him in spades, even! That much will take a long time to get through, wouldn't it. It's a big generous gift, that Aziraphale understands well. Gabriel came to Aziraphale because he instinctively knew Aziraphale understood what he needed. Mr 'six-shots-of-espresso' loves his freedom, or liberty, and his life here on Earth. The humans who line up for their dose of Heaven every day do, too. Death is the option-that-is-not-an-option. It's duty. It's the tax we all have to pay for living. So the Metatron turns up and offers Aziraphale a coffee to one who doesn't drink coffee. Essentially the Metatrash offers a choice that isn't a choice. Aziraphale's only choice is to do his duty at this point, or else...well, we aren't shown it, but it seems the 'else' was too terrible to contemplate. (Or, as some people alternatively see it, the Metatron kept pushing until he was offered a carrot he couldn't refuse.) But Jim, he's been give the option that Aziraphale and Crowley really want, but can't quite have at this point. Freedom to love as they want, and openly in front of all Heaven, Hell and Humanity. They understand. They don't judge Jimbriel for this, they actually encourage it - they both make it happen right under the Ineffable Bureaucracy's noses in the end! The irony of it! They give their arch-enemy the gift that they dream of. I'm very tempted to digress off into a discussion about the two glimpses of authority we get from Crowley and Aziraphale in S2E6 at this point (Crowley yelling at the demons prior to the attack on the shop, and Aziraphale shouting at the Ineffable Bureaucracy representatives arguing what to do about Gabe and Beez in the shop to shut up,) and what it might it might tell us about their pasts. Because, as others have noted, Gabriel and Beelzebub have that freedom to be together in front of everyone because they have power - they are essentially the top ranking beings in this AU. They can do what they want with little fear of consequences. And I guess the Metatron didn't step in to intercede at this point because he essentially wanted Gabriel gone from the picture, and this was a convenient way to do it. So yeah, the sweet hot chocolate is Gabriel's special option, facilitated by Aziraphale and Crowley. He doesn't have to drink what the plebs drink, the bitter devotional duty to Heaven.

Whiskey

The demon drink. Fire water. (Maybe...enough said? Not sure...I've got dots to spare here...fire...and water...hmm...where have we seen that before...)

Coffee

Give Me liberty Coffee, or Give Me Death!

The humans line up every day to get their ration of free will.

Regarding the Metatron's coffee offer to Aziraphale, the best explanation I've seen of it is here. The almond syrup signals that Aziraphale is being watched, and to me he is being offered a choice he can't refuse. He has no option but to accept it. In regards to the oat milk, I've seen a suggestion that it was a reference to Aziraphale being too free while on Earth and having a chance to "sow his oats." Also the purpose of offering it was to see if he was compliant enough to follow orders when asked.

Coffee shops have historically been a hotbed of foment, where new ideas were discussed, business conducted and rebellions started.

Finally there's a special mention for Gabriel and Beelzebub with their "intoxicating liquor."

Which they didn't. They got to make their own choice, in the end, thanks to Aziraphale.

The Laudanum

I originally didn't include this one, but since posting this I realised how it fits in. I've written it up in this meta here - The Altar of Eccles Cakes, - because its a Sin Offering.

[A Sin Offering was for] atonement or unintentional sin. It would have the elements of a Burnt offering, as well as a Peace offering, but not be shared.

It pretty clear to most observers that Crowley did a good and "kind deed" for Elspeth here, which angered Hell in the process and then he was dragged forcibly downstairs to be duly punished for it. There is a post here from atlas-hope that suggests this is a parallel of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, drinking the cup of God's wrath to absolve Christians of their sins. They point out the laudanum is even poured into a goblet. Crumbs, that's a hefty bit of spiritual lifting, dear demon. What were you thinking, Anthony J. Crowley? It might cast that conversation you had with the carpenter back on the mountain in a new light, or least make us look back twice at it. (Plenty of time for contemplation before S3 arrives...) Remember, a Sin offering has elements of both a Burnt offering and a Peace offering: a giant Crowley gets Elspeth to promise to devote the rest of her life to being "properly good, not just pretendy good" and the money Aziraphale is forced to donate to her ensures her future prosperity. Sounds like a win-win situation there, Elspeth!

please share your thoughts about someone having a demon's grimoire and control over them, i am very curious

because my first thought was like, belphie makes his pact with mc as a way to never hurt them again after lesson 16. imagine someone gets their hand on his grimoire

and do the brothers share a single one?? I've always wondered that, like it'd make sense as they are the Avatars and fallen angels, except for satan. Like theirs had to be created when they fell right? Maybe their grimoire is actually a case that holds all seven together.

but if they had individual one's, why would that be kinda romantic to get someone's grimoire. like the trust that has to come from that is so immense. Better than a marriage proposal, that's like soul bond level or something. Imagine mc getting buried with it too if they die (i say if because i have lots of ideas about what will happen to mc and about their lifespan that i could ramble about)

Ah, my tags give me away yet again lol!

I just feel like there's a lot of stuff about grimoires that we don't know, specifically about how they work.

Sure, having a grimoire gives you control over a demon, even overriding any pacts that demon has. But does that mean you have to be physically holding it at the time? Or can it just be considered to be in your possession? Does having a single page from the grimoire work? What's even in the grimoire? It's a big ole book is it just full of blank pages?

I have questions!!

Presumably, the demons themselves can use pages of their grimoire to cast spells or otherwise protect the holder of that page. We saw that happen when Barbatos gave MC a piece of paper from his grimoire just before MC found Belphie in the attic. Belphie then cast his sleepy lethargy spell on MC, but the paper flashed with a blinding light and then MC & Belphie were sucked into the Little D.

So was that Barbatos protecting MC and lifting Belphie's lethargy spell? Was that Barbatos somehow initiating MC and Belphie going into Belphie's mind? How did he do that with only a scrap of paper from his grimoire? Why did it work if MC is not the holder of the grimoire??

The questions continue lol.

Anyway, I do think the brothers only have one grimoire. Isn't it the same one that was in the Underground Tomb in OG? And then in NB, it's the one that Solomon goes to the Fountain of Knowledge to find, only to have MC hand it over to Lucifer.

So it did sound like they only have one grimoire for all of them.

Which is kinda crazy because man if anybody got their hands on it...

And just imagine someone evil getting a hold of it... for instance, if we're talking about Belphie, they could really mess with him by making him hurt MC.

But if they did have individual ones, it would be pretty romantic to give that to MC. I like the idea of MC being buried with the grimoire, even if it was the one that belonged to all seven of them. Like, they know it'll be safe with MC's skeleton! Awww.

I also have thoughts about MC's lifespan and the possibilities of it. Just seems unlikely that someone like MC would stay mortal unless they straight up chose to and even then... they got too much magic and such at this point, you know? Feel free to ramble all about it if you like!

Anyway, the grimoire thing really plays a part in Arrie's story, so I've had to answer all the questions about it myself. Since they don't tell us all that stuff, I just made up whatever worked best for my story lol. I have done that with a lot of things for this story honestly...
