marinating on some thoughts on Bond but make him a food-motivated semi-feral cat...

Bond is introduced to his new Quartermaster and he's professional and cordial but keeps his distance.

Q is a sucker for strays and sadly Bond is just such a pathetic wet cat of a man esp when they first meet.

He notes the spark of interest Bond exhibited when he mentioned an exploding pen and thus starts his journey of trying to pspspsps Bond in.

I sort of have this half-formed idea that he starts w like a fun ridiculous little gadget treat per kit - nothing too major or expensive (or explosive), just something novel and perhaps a bit whimsical in that "ridiculous action spy movie" kind of way.

And then maybe at some point he starts including little non-work treats. idk what form this takes. ...a small packet of homemade cookies - sorry, biscuits - stowed carefully into a pocket in a gear bag? some sort of nostalgic sweets tucked in with the gun and radio? (imagine that padded case with a special compartment carved out for sweets lol). idk this part hasn't coalesced, I just have the vibes

I also kind of have an idea that maybe Bond at first doesn't exactly show up for straightforward gear ups, they just like notify him it's ready and he sneaks in at some point takes his stuff and ghosts away. and so part of Q's journey is like. Staking Out with a metaphoric box & string to try to catch Bond before he can sneak in, snatch up, and abscond.

anyway we have this like. luring in & warming up period w 007. And THEN he becomes the annoying never-leaves-Q-alone always-calling-him-at-ungodly-hours guy we know and love. but he would he even more annoying about it <3
