I appreciate how Assad chose to make Armand a real moaner like Lestat bites his arm? moans. Lestat bites his neck? moan and eye roll. Louis grabs his waist? moans. Louis talks about licking boots? almost moans. Jacob does increasingly heavy breathing which eventually crescendos during Louis's intimate scenes which makes sense as Louis is a very sexually repressed character. Armand being more vocal by comparison can be seen as another aspect of his performative nature but could also indicate that sex is one area that he feels secure enough in to let loose a bit as a normally very restrained character.

I think that the Murderbot TV show should have some of the most obvious ADR possible. You can read Mensah’s lips saying something else while a very clearly dubbed in recording of her saying ‘the company’ is played instead of what she is actually saying. Make it clear that Murderbot is editing the record

Realizing there are probably folks on here who have ZERO idea why Baldroy has a British accent in the north american english dub.

Way back in 2010 when they were putting the dub together, and the manga was only barely past circus arc, Ian Sinclair, who ADR directed parts of s1 and also voiced Baldroy, had to make a lot of decisions about accents. In a commentary episode he and J Michael Tatum did (the first hound village episode, I believe), he talks about how there is a flashback sequence in the final s1 anime arc where Baldroy is shown wearing what appears to the average viewer as a British redcoat uniform as a British soldier prior to being headhunted by Sebastian. It was shortly after Ian Sinclair made the assumption he was British (like the rest of the white characters in the story thus far) and recorded the show with that accent, that someone brought it to his attention that it had been revealed in the manga in a part of the series that was not being adapted to anime (circus arc) that Baldroy was actually American. He and J Michael Tatum sort of laughed about the blunder and were like. Well. These things happen, but it's a minor character and there's just this one season so it won't be too crazy of a mistake bc nothing in the anime is in conflict with the voice decision.

What is ADR and how it helps to Save Your Film

ADR in film is the process of re-recording audio in a more controlled and quieter setting, usually in a studio. It involves the re-recording of dialogue by the original actor after filming as a way to improve audio quality or incorporate dialogue changes. ADR stands for Automated Dialogue Replacement, also referred to as “looping”. It is a post-production process of replacing recorded dialogue with a new recording. This is often used to improve the quality of audio, to fix mistakes, or to add sound effects. It can also be used to change the language of films or TV shows.

Somehow, both of their ipads had smashed screens after their concert at the Sagebrush last year, so Jensen had a new one with him last night that had all of their songs/lyrics on it in case he needed to reference it. 😊 All Our Own is about Jensen and Danneel. 🥰 When they write songs Steve paces with a guitar and Jensen writes it down because he has good handwriting. Steve has kept all of the handwritten notes from their writing sessions.❤️ (x)

An apology for my many questions... but when is it where the voice actors act, when the episode is 100% ready or long before starting to animate it? :)

This depends on the project! In voice over generally:

When we record before the visuals are done, it's called Pre-Lay

When we record after the visuals are finished, it's called ADR or dubbing

For tadc we do pre-lay, so we record using a script prior to animation. The dub casts, however, use the completed episode with our voices and dub/ADR over them in their respective languages!

good omens is like. its like. well it feels like its a six hour stage play where michael sheen and david tennant were told to get silly with it and they said okay! and proceed to spend six hours getting soooo silly award winning silliness. and then people scurried in after their scenes shoving in hastily constructed planks to prop up their scenes . its like they let michael sheen and david tennant shoot the shit and hit record and said well that's 85% of the show done and then went back in post and adr-ed in personality less lesbian foils and underdeveloped angelic/demonic foils and. thats about it actually theres not much more in there
