i do find it a little funny when i see people complain about how vocal synth characters are on all kinds of software other than just vocaloid nowadays. i understand it can be confusing to keep track of especially if you're not really interested in the software side of things - but you can download and use zundamon across like ten million different programs right this moment and for me i cant think of that as any other way than absolutely awesome

Also tbh I'm fucking sick of students using AI to even generate ideas. Like fucking do the research/brainstorming yourself too, that's how to truly get original, intriguing ideas. Read other scholars, read other papers, or whatever else is pertinent in a field of study, but fuck off with asking AI for themeatic ideas on how to do a queer reading of literature or whatever else. Because bigger, wider, incisive questions never get contemplated that way. You just do what a machine tells you to do. There's zero accomplishment in that.

remember when the trend with ai used to be "i trained a bot on every seinfeld episode and then made it write a script" and it was cool because the program was only basing the results on the limited bank of knowledge you had given to it and so the output was able to be specialized to exactly what the creator was using it for. and now people are roleplaying with chatgpt and making characters say the most generic shit ever produced because it's pulling from the entire network of all the texts it's ever been given.

actually him explaining the concept of skynet to me, and that being his first thought, made me start to wonder a few things- everyone always talks about this concept of ai computers becoming so smart they destroy everything, due to such an ingrained image of this from sci fi influencing people, the key point being that the ai was so *smart* it became self aware etc, so like, what if a lot of these people subconsciously believe ai- or things *called* ai- are good enough to become so smart theyre self aware, but believes the idea of it destroying the world is fantasy, thus letting the ai run rampant, but the truth is that the ai being pushed out which is clearly just a marketing gimmick to get investor money is NOT that fucking smart OR good but is still being pushed to run everything and that ends up destroying the world. is it a self fulfilling prophecy.
