We've seen people talk about:

"Boys with ticklish stomachs."

But what about...

"Tomboys/Athletic girls with firm toned stomachs/abs being insanely ticklish there.And being super embarrassed about it"

I remember during the earlier days of having this fixation I would search and look through any online forums relating to tickling/ticklishness or talking about the quirks or struggles of being ticklish/having certain tickle spots, whether people's comments were negative, positive, funny, wholesome or neutral. I also remember one particular thread I found about belly tickling, and one person added this story-

"I have a friend who is a monster about exercising. She does like a million crunches and for the decade plus that I have know her her belly has been rock hard...for that same time period I have proven time and time again that she is still ticklish no matter how much she works out! My favorite time I had her in her chair on her mother's porch...I was using the "claw" on the stomach and she was a giggling wreck! LOL! She went to silent laughter and I had to let up before she wet herself! I don't see her as much as I used to, but I still get a kick out of it!"

Honestly that is just the cutest thing in the world to me! ☺ (I can only imagine what raspberries would do to her~ 😈🤭)

It'd be nice to see more artists or writers in the community exploring this concept. Just my thoughts. 🙂

For the "artist end of the year ask game"

What is the best advice you've received this year, or, what's something new you learned about art?

I didn't really received any advice, well, to be exact, the advice that I saw are tumblr posts directed to all artists and not just me. One particular advice that I always make sure to remember is the "create for yourself" one. Whenever I catch myself low on confidence with the stuff I make (be it art or writing), I always take a step back and remind myself that what I create are things I want for myself. If this makes me happy, then that's enough for me. Others liking what I make is a really nice bonus of it!

I know it's an "or" but I'm gonna answer it too cuz there's a lot of new stuff I learned about art! As a beginner artist, I have so much to learn and each time I do, it's always such a thrilling experience! Though something important that I've learned is that art doesn't need to be perfect. It was something that I struggled with at first, where I have to make sure that there's not a single mistake in my art at all and that it has to be 100% polished with no line overlapping or colour out of the line.

But then while looking at official arts from games a lot closely, I'd notice there being a line going over another section. That was when I realized that I don't need to be so meticulous with it. Seeing the mistakes in those drawings didn't suddenly make them look bad, if anything it made them look even better, and "human" in a way that you know there was an artist behind the creation of it, an artist that missed that one line but it didn't change the quality of their art at all. So I can be just as messy with mine too. Miss a line or two and it'll be just fine, cuz that's what being human is like.

I'm curious to know how you mastered anatomy? I mean, look at the subtle shadows around Roy's shoulder or the details along Staeve's arms or even the ups and creases on Astarion's face, I am truly amazed and see it and it makes your art style so good but I can't understand how you do that...

I know I lack that specific little details in my own art style but idk how to comprehend it, so did you actually study anatomy? Or did you like, vibe around? Or try to feel and visualize while drawing what the body feels like?

It's honestly just been a matter of actively trying/learning to recognise muscle groups and joints over the years (plus a lot of my biggest artstyle inspirations are HEAVY on anatomical lines and accuracy). Also, as I've mentioned a bunch of times, I've always been involved or interested in high performance sports, acrobatics in particular, which made me pay a lot of attention to people's bodies from very early on (in a purely artistic way lmao)

These days a lot of it comes intuitively, but if I'm ever struggling or need a fullbody/more dynamic pose my first step is to outline the muscles in the sketch to see if anything's out of place. To aid me in this I sometimes have écorché (skinless) references either as pictures or in 3D. This sort of thing:

In my head things get converted to a puzzle of sorts, kinda like what these study notes look like (not mine, artist handle in the pictures):

And then it's a matter of weighing in how thick a character's skin is (indicator of a bunch of things including age) and what the fat-muscle ratio looks like, to decide which structural lines stay and which ones go or become less prominent.

And yes this also explains why I have so many fit/lean characters. I get a kick out of drawing muscle groups lmao

All that being said! I'm still very far from my anatomy goals haha it's a work in process for all of us. Hope this helps!

The AU is gonna be heavy with the angst and drama. Tav is indeed going to be in danger in the comics. That tends to come with a Durge romance. But expect a LOT of Hurt Comfort from them.

I just wanted to say thank you (and also thank crumb) for getting me back into thinking about Karl Heisenberg 24/7.

I really love your artstyle, from the amazing expressions (especially the peeved/angry ones) to the scribbly lineart. As someone that’s trying to learn to draw more digitally, I really like to observe your stuff o.o

Your Moldy Family comics are funny, cozy, sweet and comforting all at the same time, and they made me discover and appreciate Eveline (oh man I love how much of a goth tween she is), and the way you draw Heisenberg (his physicality if that makes sense, his clothes, his hair, his everything) is just *chef’s kiss*.

As a former Greek Mythology child, that AU is so so nice owagh. I love all the monster adaptations/designs, it’s all so clever: I love that Kyril is scaley, hairy AND has wings (which I feel aren’t depicted often nowadays with gorgons), Alina is so majestic, with the black tipped limbs and the blood soaked dress, and the daughters being harpies/sirens(?) is also so perfect.

Idk if you’ve already said it, but what is it about Karl’s character that made him interesting to you?

I miss drawing the mold family but i think my forte has always been fantasy, especially cause i love mythology more than anything. That’s not to say i wont go back to the modern mold family though

For greek au karl i wanted him to look like someone had haphazardly stuck animal parts to him so it’d look deliberately unnatural for him to have a relatively normal human body under all that-

I’m not sure i can fully describe why Karl is so interesting. Surface level, being voiced by Neil Newbon is always a big plus and his face model Joel Hicks is awesome-looking. His character design matches his abilities and personality really well, and speaking of personality, queer-coded villains who make a big show out of everything are always going to be my favourite. His gritty, masculine aesthetic is really inspiring in terms of gender as well. On a deeper level, in spite of all the terrible things he’s done, i find him sympathetic and relatable. After decades spent in a highly dysfunctional family, not living on his own terms, completely alone, I need him to finally be okay and get better for his own sake, with the support of people he trusts. It’s the same reason i love Eveline. Morally dark-grey characters who deserved better and could’ve gotten better with a good support system.

Cass Apocalyptic series by @somerandomdudelmao For being the comic artist that got me into tmnt in the first place. Your AU is not only the base of my love of TMNT, but also one of the biggest supports for this entire fandom- so, naturally, he is the base of this stack!

2 Arms Left by @intotheelliwoods Sweet bean Poptart is next. An absolute gem of a comic! Also... beetle saga is one of the few comics that made me bust out laughing. I loved that SO much.

Ik sonic likes to read and it just seems right for shadow to read sometimes too so I just thought it'd be cute to see them reading together (I personally drew sonic and shadow info dumping on each other abt the books they read when they were separated tho lol)
