It seems that there are strange movements in the Sewers of Arcadia, a disturbing feeling surrounds everyone without knowing why. I have the strange feeling that the nights are darker recently.
Day 11– Spell

I finished it yesterday but I upload it today because I'm sure that depending on the time I have more visibility jsjsj. Originally I was going to draw Zoé, Douxie or Claire, I even considered Merlin or Morgana, but I saw a #AngorRot fanart and I was really weak, I love his design and he is one of my favorite antagonists. It was difficult, I hardly found any useful references, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
Would you guys be interested in reading the Trollhunters story I'm writing? It's about my OCs: Rin (Trollhunter), Jay (Shadow Mage), and Clay (War axe wielder). It's basically Trollhunters but where the gang doesn't accidentally destroy Angor Rot's soul and he lives to help fight Gunmar. I'm still working everything out, but here is a little scene from the story. This takes place during the episode with the Kairosect and they stop time. Jay is currently in the sewers waiting for the time to run out.
Do not repost.
"Okay. 3… 2… 1…" Jay waited for something to happen with a tense jaw and locked knees. A few agonizingly slow seconds passed before Angor's eyes flicked to her. His face held traces of confusion that were quickly covered by anger. Growling, he stood and stalked towards her with his knife in hand.
"Okay, b-before you kill me, I have an offer," He slipped the Killstone into a bag at his hip and she watched it disappear with dread. This might be harder than she originally intended.
"Speak quickly, hunter," He snapped, circling her. She retreated into her hoodie slightly and fumbled around with the paper she held.
"A-Alright. So, in exchange for the Inferna Copula, we want the Killstone and help g-getting the eye of Gunmar. We would also like to-to request your assistance in defeating Gunmar, but that part is optional…" She looked back up to him as he paused his endeavors. He glared down at her with those intricate yellow and black eyes. The height difference was comical.
"And my staff," He hissed, sending fearful shivers down her spine.
"W-what?" Jay sputtered. His growl deepened to an inhuman level before he spoke again.
"I want my ring and my staff." A thin coat of sweat covered her forehead. Since when were the sewers so hot?
"I-uh, I would need to talk it over with Rin and Clay… "
He bared his dagger and she took a step back. The Inferna Copula jangled in her pocket.
'Crap! I didn't bring a weapon!' Jay thought with horror, eyes desperately flicking around the tunnel.
"Um- how about we talk- tonight! At Rin's house with everyone there?" Her hands were trembling like leaves and she shoved them in her pockets to hide them from the Assassin.
"Or I could kill you right here, Hunter, and take what is rightfully mine!" He was lightning fast as he pinned her against his body, knife to her throat. So fast, in fact, that she had no time to react.
She gulped nervously as a drop of blood splashed to the floor. She held his forearm with one hand while the other fumbled with the ring in her pocket.
"How about you don't kill me, and we can peacefully talk it over with the others?" The ring was now on her finger and she prayed it worked like she read it would.
"How about-"
A force like opposing magnets pushed them apart instantly. Both troll and human were forcefully thrown into opposite walls. Jay gasped as the wind was knocked out of her. She glanced over at Angor to see him recovering as well.
"Well, that worked better than planned," She rasped, standing on shaky legs, "Now will you listen? I didn't want to do this." She gestured to the ring on her left index finger. Angor snarled at her from his kneeling position on the sewer floor.
"Tonight at midnight. My ring and my staff." Jay nodded.
"Thank you," she turned to leave but paused, "A-and I'll have you know, I really didn't want to use the ring."
“ I spoke to God today and she said that she’s ashamed
What have I become
What have I done
I spoke to the devil today and he swears he’s not to blame
And I understood ‘cause I feel the same ”

Here's a drawing I did of Angor Rot, a vilain from the animated series ''Trollhunters'' ( The creator is Guillermo del toro! I'm gonna try to poke him with Twitter :P) I highly recommand this series! It's on Netflix, go watch it NOW!
Drawing has been created with 2H/HB pencils, colorise with the markers Promarkers and the contrasts were ajusted on Photoshop CS5.
So, I got bored and decided to research if anything about Angor Rot’s name or story had any significance. Turns out, Angor Rot’s origin story actually has a bit of historical accuracy. Just a warning, I know next to nothing on this subject, and am just going off what I read online.
Angor Rot was a Troll who lived during Gunmar’s war for control of the surface which was devastating his village. In 1297 A.D. in Bulgaria’s Black Sea, Angor sought power to protect his people. (x)
I started by researching what was going on in Bulgaria at that time. I’m going to guess here that Angor Rot lived on the coast of the Black Sea, or at least near it.
Mongol raids may have continued, as in 1297 and 1298 […] these raids pillaged parts of Thrace (x)
And thanks to Wikipedia we know that…
As a geographical concept, Thrace designates a region bounded by the Balkan Mountains on the north, Rhodope Mountains and the Aegean Sea on the south, and by the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara on the east.
In 1265 the area suffered a Mongol raid from the Golden Horde, led by Nogai Khan, and between 1305 and 1307 was raided by the Catalan company.
So, although the dates are a bit off, Angor Rot’s village was in the right location to be raided, and existed at around the right time. And considering trolls’ lifespans, it’s reasonable that it would seem more recent to them.
I looked into the Golden Horde a bit and it seems that they were part of the division of the Mongol Empire in 1259. The fragmentation of the Mongol Empire somewhat parallels how Gunmar’s army and other trolls separated, and the conflict between them.
I’m ending this here for now but please tell me if I missed anything, and feel free to add to this or correct anything.
