Went to the doctor just for a check up and he basically just told me "your body just processes sugar very well! :) :) :) It's a good thing! :) :) :) It can't possibly be the source of your symptoms even though eating fixes it :) :) :)" But there was also a moment when talking about my iron deficiency that is possibly one of the funniest things a doctor has ever said to me, up with the cardiologist who said "you're a medical mystery": He was going over my blood test results, and said "Your iron levels haven't gone up at all, they are still extremely low, but you're not anemic anymore" And I was like how am I not anemic anymore??? And he said "Your hemoglobin levels have gone up...somehow..." while frowning at the blood test results on his computer. It was very "somehow, palpatine has returned" lol

The Study: Design and Key Findings This prospective observational study included 143 non-diabetic individuals who had tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 between January 2020 and December 2022. Researchers measured fasting glucose, insulin, and C-peptide levels using intravenous arginine stimulation tests, along with body mass index (BMI) and inflammatory markers like high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR).
Key findings from the study include: -Insulin Resistance and Long COVID: Approximately 30.7% of the participants developed long COVID-19 syndrome. Of these, 75% exhibited insulin resistance and eventually developed diabetes within one year, compared to 55.8% of those without long COVID-19.
-Impact of Obesity: Among obese participants (BMI > 30 kg/m²), 62% experienced elevated blood glucose levels a year post-infection.
Surprisingly, obesity rates did not differ significantly between those with and without long COVID-19, suggesting that other factors, such as chronic inflammation, play a pivotal role.
-Inflammatory Markers and Metabolic Disturbances: Elevated hs-CRP and ESR levels correlated with insulin resistance, highlighting the role of inflammation in disrupting metabolic health.
However, the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, another marker of insulin resistance, showed weaker correlations, pointing to the complexity of the underlying mechanisms.
Chronic Inflammation: A Central Culprit The study underscores the role of chronic inflammation in the development of insulin resistance among COVID-19 survivors. Prolonged activation of the immune system, potentially triggered by viral remnants or autoimmune responses, can interfere with insulin signaling. This disruption leads to poor glucose absorption by cells, resulting in elevated blood sugar le vels.
The virus's ability to infect pancreatic beta cells, which are crucial for insulin production, exacerbates this problem. By binding to ACE2 receptors on these cells, SARS-CoV-2 can impair their function, causing a decline in insulin secretion. This interplay of inflammation and cellular damage creates a perfect storm for the onset of metabolic disorders.

Wait, why do people think orange will kill a chicken??
Citric acid can mess with calcium absorption and there are a ton of "infographics" that list it as dangerous as feeding avacodo skin (dont do that) but like i said before citrus fruits have lots of benefits and shouldn't be avoided for only that reason even the peels have beneficial nutrients and I dont worry about the sugar content causing sour crop because citrus fruits are acidic.
But i also think its silly how some chicken keepers avoid fruits in general due to the sugar content somehow being correlated to sour crop (i see no evidence of this) but in my experience chickens only get sour crop due to underlying health conditions or due to impaction via grass or other fibrous material.

Starting off with the menu, there will be an Earth themed macaron going for about ¥900 yen each for desserts. Each one will be made out of bread, whipped cream, and mixed berries! For drinks, each character will have their own themed drink! Here are the following characters, type of drinks, and the ingredients. Please note that I am using a translator, so there may be mistakes!
World-go-round drink! - Blue jelly, mint jelly, white water, whipped cream, and monaka.
Italy - Latte - Espresso, milk, whipped cream, and chocolate monaka.
Germany - Berry Cholet (?) - Wild berry soda and mixed berries.
Japan - Matcha Latte - Matcha latte and white chocolate.
Spain - Non-alcoholic Sangria - Sangria drink, grape syrup, orange, and lemon.
Prussia - Kinderpunsch - Apple juice, star anise, cinnamon powder, and apple.
Romano - Sicilian Lemon Iced Tea - Sicilian lemon tea, honey lemon, lemon, whipped cream, and monaka.
America - Coke Float - Coke, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, cherry, and chocolate.

The following is, as usual, not medical advice:
What I like to call "Severe" Hot Chocolate: Do you have asthma? COPD? Don't have your inhaler with you? Severe Hot Chocolate might help! In a sauce pan over low heat, combine 1Tb sugar and 3Tb unsweetened cocoa powder with a little water. Once its combined into a sludge, add a cup of milk or milk substitute of choice and stir to combine and heat. Then drink. It will be bitter, but not too bad if you like dark chocolate.
An Entire Head of Lettuce: Need to poop? Wanna do it tomorrow morning? Eat an entire head of iceburg lettuce in one go (with or without dressing).
Lite Salt: Need electrolyte replacement or a cheap sports drink? Dissolve 1/2tsp Lite Salt (half sodium chloride and half potassium chloride) in 2 cups of lemonade or other flavored drink. Sugar actually helps with the absorption of the electrolytes, but if you need a no sugar drink you can do that too.
Plastic Wrap: Stabbed in the chest? Unfortunate. Get a piece of plastic wrap to put over the wound and tape it down snugly. The sucking chest wound will still be there but it will buy time to get to a hospital.
Ice/ziploc bags: While ice doesn't help things heal, it sure makes them feel better. Put some ice in a bag and wrap that bag in a towel and put that on your musculoskeletal injury for pain relief.
Instant Pot: Need to sterilize something made of metal? Don't want to use a chemical? Put it on a shelf in your pressure cooker and add some water to the bottom. 10 mins on high pressure should do it.
Rice (in a sock): Fill a sock with dry white rice. Microwave it for a minute or so. Use it for cramps or back pain.
Fresh Coffee Grounds: This isn't so much a medical thing (though it is frequently used in hospitals) as it is a good-to-know. Coffee grounds absorb biological odors. Just put a little bowl of them in a room with a poop or BO-type smell and it will absorb it.
