Okay now that I’ve just about finished season 4 of Miraculous and it seems like Adrien’s amok is in Gabriel’s ring (please nobody spoil anything til I get to S5!!) can you imagine how desperately reverse good guy Gabe must want to protect that ring?? The horror and guilt that must eat at him when he thinks about his son’s origins and the possible intent he and Emilie may have had behind it??

I’m operating on the basis that Hesperia started out as at least a morally gray individual before he changed for the better

Anyway, good dad Gabriel protecting his son at all costs even if said son refuses to talk to him or start his healing path is my new favorite thing and I require more headcanons about them

Because Adrien is sweet, and forgiving, and kind. In fact, kindness is his defining quality — Marinette herself made sure of it:

“I’ll never tell another boy I love him before I know everything about him! Whether he’s kind or not, thoughtful, what he does outside of school and with who… I’ll know everything.”

But.

Do you ever think about Adrien’s development in S4 and especially S5?

Overtime, he has grown resentful of a system that exploits him relentlessly.

Of the people he gave countless chances to, only to be let down over and over again.

Of the web of lies and half-truths he constantly finds himself tangled into. A web that is only growing bigger, stickier, and trickier to escape.

And the Senticousins. Do you ever think about them?

Do you ever think about how they are each other’s reflection, identical and opposites all at once?

“When you bring a living being into this world, you have a responsibility towards them. Your duty is to protect them, love them, help them discover the true meaning of their existence. To deprive them of that… is monstruous.”

“To have a child is to help them blossom, to grow, to find themselves and to be free!”

Do you ever think about their opposite character arcs in S5 — one learning mercy and trust, the other developing a rage so strong it could destroy the world?

Do you ever think that if Felix can now have this exchange with his mum, and mean it:

“They’re all monsters!”

“Not all of them.”

Then there’s nothing stopping Adrien from saying this:

“Look closer, Marinette. They’re the monsters.”

a very happy anniversary to passion aka one of the episodes that made me lose my marbles aka the episode in which:

marinette unashamedly fawns over chat noir in the presence of an exasperated alya, pastel pink romantic montage with roses included

adrien thinks about marinette throughout his entire morning routine while saying her name to himself like a mantra and literally drawing her face on his bathroom window

gabriel and nathalie have a custody battle under the guise of talking about pancakes

nathalie yearns for- i mean mourns emilie

adrien tells marinette that she’s special and that her mere presence is enough to make him happy in the most tender voice one can possibly imagine while looking at her with eyes that scream “I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU”

chat noir says the phrase “hashtag run!” before yeeting a paralysed ladybug over a bus

lady noire flirts with compliments mister bug by saying that his suit “brings out the colour” of his eyes

lady noire scolds safari and says that no one is allowed to flatten her partner’s “gorgeous face”

lady noire straight up says that only she is allowed to pursue mister bug

did i mention that lady noire is horrendously, indisputably down bad for mister bug

lady noire asks mister bug for a kiss goodbye but ahahaha nooo she was only joking!!! she knows that the thing she’s forgotten to do is to swap their miraculous again. obviously.

Bonus for Lukanette? Looks like I’m getting all the bonus points😂 I mean I haven‘t really read any Adrien salt fics for the sake of reading salt as of recent but because it was a Lukanette fic that happened to also have some salt😂 so yeah they’re all Lukanette whoopsie

Also I don’t know what exactly you’re looking for but most of those aren‘t really super heavy salt? And several salt on other characters as well, so beware. I‘ll try my best nontheless, hope that works for you

"My name is Adrien Agreste. And unfortunately for me, my parents are three things: RICH, ADVENTUROUS, and now COMATOSE after an incident involving Niagra Falls and an ancient gold-pated spleen. My plan was to cope with it by going to school and having a normal childhood for once, but no. Immediately I get recruited to become a Superhero (because of course the Miraculouses showed up again the moment my parents, the experts on magic items like the Miraculouses, are out of the picture) and to make things worse I accidentally gave a very nice girl my most cursed umbrella (they all have curses on them at this point, which due to how I was conceived is less of a problem for me, but this one was my most cursed one and I completely forgot to warn Marinette about it). Darn it, I just wanted a school year without a crazy adventure, but no. Guess I'll just have to make the best of it. At least Plagg understands where I'm coming from."

Or, the AU where Gabriel and Emilie never stopped being Adventuring Exploring Archaeologists, and dragged Adrien on crazy Indiana Jones level adventures on a regular basis throughout his life. This leads to a Chat Noir with a really interesting set of skills, and a Ladybug who has accidentally received one of the weirdest curses a person can think of.

I love that you call marinette a phone-thief. It's so funny when people take like. something that happened mostly on accident and are like: she's evil! and bad! like alksjdkl lmfao

I mean, it's mostly because it happened... what... at least 4 times in canon?

She stole Adrien's phone in copycat, Chloe's phone in Reflekta, Alya's phone in The Mime, and she looked through Kagami's phone without permission in Ikari Gozen.

I agree that she's not evil or bad! But the reason why "phone thief Marinette" is a fandom meme is because there's actually a lot of silly truth to it lol

So Tomoe is obviously going to be the new Evil Queen of Paris and supplying all of the technology and locking away her princess dragon daughter away, but what's that second symbol next to the Tsurugi industries?

I'm betting it's the symbol of whatever warlord company Colt Fathom ran.

My mind is reeling with the possibilities of this political alliance.

I never really noticed this before (mostly because I haven’t rewatched this episode) but the color here is crazy.

Emilie (or Kagami representing Emilie) is in a blue room with Paris being orange. And Amelie (or Felix representing Amelie) is in an orange room and London is blue.

Now upon first glance, you feel more the temperature of the colors, and storytelling wise, the colors would seem to convey Emelie in a cold environment, despite marrying for love, and Amelie in a warm enviroment, despite knowing it was arranged and he was abusive. It’s poetically different. And slightly strange, as their environments tells us a different story.

But then I thought about it a different way. Emelie was an adventurer. She wanted to travel and see the WORLD. Amelie gave up everything for her FAMILY and being the heiress.

My eyes are quite quickly drawn to things in light contrasting the darker colder blue. Bringing things into focus. Emelies focus lies outside of her home at the WORLD, at Paris, the city of love. As if she still longs for adventure and is trapped inside. And Amelie’s focus lies inside with her FAMILY that she gives everything for, no matter how hard it is or what abuse she may have to face.

The windows have a story as well. As Emelies window is smaller and thinner, with less space between the bars. We know Adrien’s deepest fear is being contained and locked away. Maybe he shared that with his mother. But Amelie’s (like Adrien’s) window is big. Giving a sense of freedom. Perhaps, that freedom was allotted, or just an illusion for more control.

I think this can give interesting depth into these characters, and subsequently, the children they made. And why they made the discussions they did, such as Amelie’s devotion to her son despite not fully understanding. Or perhaps, some secrets of the Agreste household, where things never seem to be what you think.
