Synopsis: Where Damian Wayne has an older sister. A sister that after being on a six month long mission, comes home to see her brother not waiting for her. A sister who is pissed off and on her way to Gotham.
Warning: Swear words, angst, and Al’Ghul bullshit
AHHHHHHH I'm starting a new trope!! An Al’Ghul!Reader series will be a constant on this page. I was rewatching “Son Of Batman” and was just imagining Damian and how he would be absolutely soft for his older sister. This is the first one-shot for this series, so feel free to send me ideas for this trope :))

You were finally on your way home. After completing your six month mission you were coming home. Grandfather had burdened you with the task of tailing a traitor in the League. Your job was to be partners with the mole and go on missions together.
You were supposed to feel out if he truly was a traitor. During your six month mission you both got close. Not in the romantic sense. Oh no, definitely not in that sense. He was a great partner. He had your back in every situation, every challenge you both faced, every thing you both went through, you did it together.
You started to see him as a friend. You were getting attached. Something you've been told since birth NOT TO DO. Yet during those months he became your friend. You’ve been relaying information towards your grandfather about your opinion on his character. Whether you truly thought him to turn or not.
In the beginning you knew he was. You could tell.
His insentient need to know what was happening, when it was happening, and why. It was obvious. Yet when it came to relaying the information back to Ra’s you lied. You lied because he was your friend. Your first friend.
Yet your grandfather was still suspicious. That’s why the mission took so long, you were told to keep looking, keep searching, find something that beams in red lights that he was the traitor.
Five months in on your mission with Theodore is when you got the letter. You've gotten it many times. You've gotten it multiple times for multiple different people and this time you knew who the letter was for. It was the first time you heart seized in your chest. Like blood pumping out of your heart knew what was happening, knew how it affected you.
 The big red letters.
TERMINATE.
That was it. You knew what you had to do.
Theodore was out on recon, he was supposed to come back to your guy’s apartment soon. You had everything ready. You had the knife hidden between the couch cushions. snug, you could see it gleam from the moonlight. You know what you were going to do was wrong. Fuck if he found out you’re sure he would kill you. But, you didn't care.
The door opens and you spine straightens. Your back is to him so you hear his annoying cheery voice greet you.
“Hey! Y/N, man was it crazy out there, Ra’s was right. They’re def-” he stops his words and you turn your head looking at him with a blank face. “Whats wrong?”
the genuine concern hurts. It hurts because you know what you’re about to do. “I need to speak with you Theo”
Thats what lets him know what's wrong. He’s been trying to get you to call him by that for months but no matter what you always used Theodore. He walks quickly towards the couch and sits. “Whats up” yes, it took you a while to get used to his laid back way of speaking, you find it endearing now.
“I need to tell you something.” So that’s what you did. You explain for hours about what you did. He gets angry. Very angry. It’s when you ask him the question that makes him look at you with a blank face. The face of an assassin. His body become tense, ready to fight you, again it’s funny. Funny because you both know who’ll win.
“If I tell you the truth, what does that mean for me?” Such a loaded question. Such a hard question that had you worried for months. You know what you'd do, he just won’t like it.
“Either answer you give me Theodore will end in you walking away.”
The shocked expression on his face is almost laughable. You feel your lips curl up. “Wh- what do you mean? You're saying you're not gonna kill me Y/N?”
“No, I'm not going to hurt you Theodore.”
“Why?” he asks with that smile. He smiles because he knows. Your actually regretting what you said now.
“Why Y/N? is it because you love me?” he says with a mocking tone and a smile.
You shake your head this is ridiculous. Absolutely absurd. “No Theodore, it’s because.....you’re my friend.” You finally get out. He’s your friend and you don't want him to die.
He’s your friend and he should be freed from this life. This life that burdens him, you, your baby brother. This way of life that brings nothing but destruction and chaos.
Theodore doesn’t deserve that. Not one bit. He deserves to smile all the time, to make everyone’s life brighter as much as he’s made yours.
“You’re my friend too Y/N. I love you.” He said with a huge smile, you in return give him a small one.
 “What’s the plan?”
*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Theodore is running away. You're helping him, he tried to convince you to come with him. To run away and cause hell. Together.
We’ll be double trouble Y/N! c’mon!
It has you smiling, because that’s what he deserves. To cause hell and live a long happy life. But, you'll just be a chapter in his. Someone he’ll tell his kids about in the future, when he’s reminiscing about “old times”
He’s the type to do that you think. Get happy over nostalgic things, you can picture him. Old, smiling, happy, telling his kids all about his life. It fits him. Not, you though, your future is with your brother. By his side. Always.
You use the knife hidden in the couch to slice his arm. You need evidence of Theodore’s death and the blood of the person you are supposed to kill is confirmation enough. You both travel to California. God, what a horrible place. The air is polluted with sun and happiness. Totally works for someone like Theodore.
Like the assassin he is, he knows to stay out of trouble. Knows to keep quiet. You leave him there with your dagger. A parting gift. On your way home you think about if you will ever see him again. Hear from him somehow, It brings a smile to your face because you know you won't see each other. And that alone puts you at ease.
*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
You’ve finally made it home. If you can even can call it that. You enter the sanctum, walk through the halls making your way up to see your mother waiting for you…..alone. Where's Damian? “It’s been so long my dear.” She greets you as she rests her hand on your cheek.
“Yes, it has, I've completed my mission Mother, where is Grandfather?” I see her eyes trail away from mine. something happened. Where’s Damian?
You can't see Damian until your dismissed from your Grandfather. “Beloved, Your Grandfather was killed.” Those five words have your eyes bulging. reeling away from her in disbelief. No, there's no possible way your Grandfather, Ra’s Al Ghul, Leader of the League of Assassins is dead. “Mother.. I- where's Damian?” you can't deal with that right now. You need to see your brother.
You see her eyes trail away from you again. And your heart drops, it twists, it squeezes in your chest. No, no, no, no, absolutely not. Your Mother sees your pained expression. and she quickly reaches for you, Grabbing onto your face. “OH! oh! gods no, Y/N your brother has not suffered the same fate as your Grandfather.” Gods you can finally breathe again.
You look up at her again because, if your brother is not dead than something else happened. That has you internally panicking again. “Then what has happened mother?”
silence.
You want to kill her. You clench your jaw and ask again. “Where is Damian?” you snap.
“Damian is with his father.” Blood drains from your face.
Your brother is thousands and thousands of miles away from you. In Gotham. You’re actually going to kill her. Your body feels hot, the anger is clear on your face because your mother speaks again. Big mistake. “A boy needs his father Y/N. Bruce was happy to take him in. He’s thriving in that environment. He’s training under Batman. He will be back soon. Stop crying.” She speaks in her usual dismissive tone. Like the thought of her son being away from her wasn’t at all concerning.
Like it didn’t affect her.
Like you were overreacting!
You school your expression back into your emotionless mask and stare disappointedly at her.
It’s done you know where he is. You don't spare her another look. You turn on your heels of your feet and walk out of the place, you were so desperate to come back too.
Your brother is in Gotham City.
You’ll see him soon.
*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Gotham City. When you were little, before Damian was even a thought running through your sadistic mother’s mind....you remember coming here with your Grandfather.
“Cities like this Y/N, are the places that are in need of our help.”
“The citizens of Gotham are fools. Thinking their precious vigilantes are going to save them from the scum that run about. Eradicating all of it is the only way. Soon they will come to see it.”
You remember how bright the sunset was that day, almost as if proving your Grandfather wrong with his opinion of the city. If a city so polluted and needing of the League's help, how could it produce something so beautiful and as innocent as a sunset.
You know now your grandfather’s opinion was bullshit. That the world needs vigilantes. Especially Gotham City. But you were too blinded by anger to praise Batman and his wards at the moment. He has Damian. Bruce Wayne has suddenly decided to play daddy to your little brother. As far as your concerned, the only suitable parental figure in Damian’s life has been you, and that’s not about to change.
Your brother does not need to be gallivanting in an insipid yellow and green costume in the night. Damian deserves to be a kid. A life you were sure he was going to live when you came back from your mission. You both were going to run away from the sanctum and you were finally going to release Damian from your Mother and Grandfather’s evil clutches, but it seems that Damian has traded a dangerous life for another.
It was easy to get into WE undetected. Shitty security for the company that belongs to the Batman, but you guess having high level security might raise some eyebrows.
You hear his voice running through your ears from the bug you planted at the end of the hallway. “Yes, Dorris I unfortunately cannot make it that evening.” You hear his footsteps come closer. You look out towards the window relaxing back into his seat. His voice booms from outside the door.
“Yes....yes I do-” his voice halts once he opens  the door. You would’ve thought he might of known someone was in his office before. Someones getting old, you think smugly. “Im afraid I'm going to have to call you back Dorris.” he closes the door and sets his coat down. “Yes, you too” he sighs and you hear the phone hang up.
“What do you need Talia?” Hmph. Your mother is who he thinks is in his seat. Funny. You spin the chair away from the view facing towards him. If you didn't know this man was Batman, you would've thought he was crazy for not giving you more of a reaction other than his breath hitching.
“Y/N.....What are you doing here?” He asks in his usual monotone voice. Anger sparked again within you.
 “Damian.”
One word that has him bowing his head in understanding. He opens his mouth to speak again, you beat him to it. “Imagine my surprise” you get up from his seat and walk in front of his desk. “When I come home from a six month long mission to find my brother not there.” you perch up on the desk and stare him down with fury in your eyes.
“That my brother is now living in Gotham City with his father and the rest of the Robins.” You watch as he walks towards his windows and stares out into the distance. His blatant hesitance to answer your question has you regretting coming here first.
“Your brother is under my care now yes. But I assure you Y/N he is thriving here. You don-” You whip your entire body toward him and advance to his side before he can blink.
“I DIDN’T ASK IF HE WAS THRIVING HERE BRUCE!”
You let it get the best of you. You close your eyes and ask the question you've been trying to avoid thinking about on your way here. The question that seems to cause even more weight on your heart when Bruce didn't seem glad to see you, almost hating what you were here for. If Damian was happy?
You look at him in the eyes and ask it “Is he... Is he happy here?”
 “Y/N-”
“Disregarding the vigilante work I know he’s doing, his studies, or his progress in training.....is he happy here?” It hurts, god it hurst to ask but you need to know. That he’s finally living out the life he should, just not with you.
“Why don’t you ask him yourself?”
*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
The drive to Wayne Manor is silent. You didn't expect anything more, neither did Bruce but you secretly hoped he would mention Damian again. You were too afraid to ask. So you went for the safe option, Alfred.
“How’s Alfred?” you see him glance at you through the corner of his eye. “Fine, never stops telling me I should take more days off.”
“You should listen” Poor old man, constantly in the vicinity of men in costumes with their insistent need for vigilante work. You truly don't know how he does it.
“Yeah. I really should.” Silence stretches between you two before he speaks. “And your mother?”
Your eyes narrow beneath your shades. “Still breathing.....unfortunately”
He huffs out a laugh and it has your eyes relaxing from their angered state. You see the ETA to be 10 minutes, he couldn’t drive any faster?
“You and your brother both share the same violent tendencies I see”
“You have your baby mama and Ra’s to thank for that.” You almost gag at the words you just used to describe your mother, Screw you Theodore for making me watch that horrible excuse of television called reality TV.
Your words shock Bruce too it seems because he releases a loud laugh this time. He smiles and take his eyes off the road to meet yours. “It seems that six month mission you’ve just returned from wasn’t all that bad.”
You smile at the reminder of your friend. “Yes, It wasn't all that bad..” You break eye contact to see the Manor come into view.
You’re reminded of why you're here. And you don’t know if you want to puke from excitement or of nervousness. Bruce takes notice of your uneasy expression because once he parks and turns off the car he turns to you.
“There is no need to be nervous, I don't think your arrival will cause Damian to be upset, the opposite actually. All he did when he first came here was brag to the kids about his older sister.” His attempt at reassuring you is appreciated, but you don't let him know that.
“Where is he?” You ask the question softly this time. “The cave.”
You walk behind Bruce into the Manor. Gives you time to admire his home. Admire the warmth that stems from it. Warmth that Damian deserves to live in. That you know he’s happy living in.
“A guest Sir?” Alfreds voice bring you out of your thoughts and you turn your body reveling you identity to the man. The obvious shock in his face is clear.
Bruce’s voice breaks the staring contest between you too. “Damian is training right Alfred?”
“Yes......yes, of course sir he’s sparring with Master Tim.” Timothy Jackson Drake. The robin to come after Todd, Truly a suitable opponent for your brother.
“I tried to persuading Master Damian to take break but it seems Master Jason and Master Dick egged him on with continuing.” They all seem to have formed a relationship. It causes a sting in your eyes.
Bruce and Alfred seem to notice your silent state, gods you need to stop being vulnerable in front of him. Though you can’t help it with Damian, he’s your one weakness.
“Though, I know Damian would be exceptionally happy to see you Lady Y/N.” He says with such a warm smile. You smile back and look towards Bruce, obvious want in your eyes to see your brother.
You both bid Alfred a goodbye and make your way into his study. Such a cliche you think snidely, a secret opening. Theodore would love this.
You nervousness is obvious and your palms are sweating. You both slowly make it down the step into the cave. You can't help but marvel at the architecture and complexity of the cave.
You both walk towards the balcony and overlook the railing to see him.
  Damian.
He’s obviously grown since you last saw him. And it causes a lump to form in your throat. You see him sparring with who you assume is Tim and you admire their flow. The way they both anticipate their next moves.
The way Tim matches his skills to Damian’s. And the way Damian doesn't train to harm anymore.
It almost looks like he’s having fun. It has you smiling through watery eyes. He’s happy.
The way he shines from Jason and Dick’s cheering. The way instead of anger and hatred painting his face its smugness and a hint of playfulness.
“C’mon Drake just accept defeat from the 11 year old.”
His voice. The obvious hint of teasing coating his voice makes your smile brighter. “Shut up Damian, once I win you will be taking over my section of patrol for a week.” Damian groans and rolls his eyes.
“Yeah! c’mon short stack you don’t want to end up patrolling the fast food area do ya?” Jason tells him mockingly.
“Yeah little wing is right bud” That has Jason narrowing his eyes towards Dick. “Nothing happens there. Only your handful of crazies who get angry when the workers get their order wrong.”
That seems to drive Damian more because he's now in facing the side of Tim. Conveniently facing the railing you and Bruce are overlooking from. Because he notices Bruce’s presence out the corner of his eye and then yours. And you swear one your eyes connect you know what decision you’ll make.
Damian dose a double take and freezes. You see his eyes widen and his shock and disbelief paint his face. “ `ukht ”
His sudden frozen state has Dick and Jason following his eyes sight to where you're standing. You feel the shock from them too, but can’t find the need to care.
You keep eye contact with Damian and the relief that envelops you when his face starts to light up and a smile str-
“OOF!”
Before any of you can blink Tim tackles Damian to the ground. He’s straddling Damian with his hands shot up in the air, a large smile painted across his face, his stance radiating victory.
“AHHH! AH HA! I WON! I WON ! YOU LOOSE! HAHA YOU HAVE TO WOAH-”
Damian throws Tim off him and quickly stumbles off the ground and races up the stairs to you. “Y/N” he whispers under his breath.
“Y/N HA! AHH SISTER!” his obvious excitement and joy to see you has you racing to meet him halfway the balcony.
Smiles both painting your faces you catch him as he crashes into you, bringing you to your knees almost falling to the floor. You giggle like a maniac with him in your arms. His long skinny arms wrapping around your neck, clinging to you tightly almost like he can't believe you're here.
You're not any better either, grasping the back of his head with your right hand and perching your chin on top of his ebony hair. “My little raven, how I've missed you” your voice seems to do something to him because he squeezes you harder and digs his face into the crook of your neck.
You start to pull back wanting to see his face up close, when you feel him grasp your shirt between his hands and pull you back. You feel wetness on the side of your neck and you just pull him tighter against you.
Oh. Oh your baby brother is the epitome of sweetness is your eyes.
“You’re really here” he whispers against your ear. Almost scared like if he’s any louder you’ll disappear. “Yes, yes I'm here Dami” He stays nestled in your arms for a little bit. Relishing in the closeness he’s missed. You don't mind. you’ve been longing to see him since you were sent off on the mission. You let him decide when you part from your embrace and when your (YEC) eyes connect with his brilliant green. You both smile bright.
“Oh! I've seen you lost some baby teeth since I've been gone!” Your words cause a red tint to bloom across his cheeks, he rolls his eyes with smile “Shut up Y/N!” he says annoyed.
“Hey! That’s no way to treat your sister who’s traveled thousands of miles to see her little baby brother!” You say with a laugh. That seems to cause another smile break out across his face and he tucks his head into your neck again. You laugh and squeeze him tight against you. So glad that he’s happy to see you. So happy he didn't forget you.
“Ummm Am I dreaming or is little gremlin smiling?” You turn your head with Damian still resting his face in your neck towards the voice to see Tim sprawled out of the mat where looking up towards you two with shock and awe coating his face.
Seriously who are you? And why is a brat like Damian that happy to see you! If you would’ve heard his thoughts, maybe you wouldn't have mad at the name he used to call your brother. Damian is no gremlin! (okay you know he totally is)
Tim’s question does bring you back to the fact that you have an audience. You also notice Dick and Jason looking at you too with cautious eyes but smiles, and Bruce looking at you both with a certain fondness in his eyes.
“I think the boys are done with training. How about we discuss this over dinner?”
*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Having dinner with the batboys as you decided to call them was........ a treat? Their loud but funny personality's had you smiling and laughing during the entire night and Damian clinging to you the entire dinner catching you up all six month you missed was the best part.
Once Bruce explained who you were to Tim and explained why you caused such a huge reaction from Damian, he went from awe to immediate suspicion, it seems that your relation with the League left him cautious. Understandable, you think and you had no problem with easing his worries with your own explanation but Damian took offense to his suspicion of you.
“Don't you dare look at my sister like that Drake! She does not need to explain herself to you or anyone else! She will stay as long as she likes and you will do well to welcome her here, or so help me Drake I'll make you wish you decided to bite your tongue!” That certainly caused an awkwardness to hang in the air but Tim immediately apologized seeing Damian’s very real anger and expressed his apology if he made you uncomfortable and his genuine sincerity and concern reminded you of Theodore, and even if you got off on the wrong foot you decided you liked Tim very much.
You won over Jason when he found out how you reveled yourself to Bruce at WE.
“Oh! that's so good! Please he thought you were Talia” His loud exaggerated laugh had you smiling confusedly. You could see Bruce rolling his eyes and grumbling under his breath. You suddenly understood the dynamic between the two. “God what I would’ve paid to see his face when you revealed who you were I can-” His words get cut off from his own howling laughter. “Shut up Todd! You're scaring my sister with your monstrosity of a laugh.”
Once you mention the ride to manor and your conversation you two shared about calling Talia a “baby mama” Dick chokes on his food and immediately makes the connection of reality TV. “You watch Reality TV?!? Huh. who would’ve thought Talia can produce children with actual humor” His snide comment about your mother is laughed at by you “Yes, a friend of mine forced me to watch and I have to say the vulgar things exchanged between the people on camera had me reeling from shock, I think it’s probably rubbed off on me a bit too much”
The rest of the night is filled with laughs and you have to say you understand now.
Damian belongs here.
He needs to be here. And as much as it hurts knowing you aren't the only important person in his life anymore, you can't help but beam internally of happiness.
If anyone deserves to be happy it’s your brother. And the life he’s grown to know here is something that he is the utmost deserving of.
After helping Alfred clear the table, you ask Bruce if you could talk to Damian alone for a while. He knows what you’ve decided and he knows how happy it will make Damian. You’re glad that he approves, as much as you respected Bruce his approval wasn’t needed but it was appreciated.
Damian brings you outside, he says it's the best place for important things to be discussed. You can't help but agree once you've made it outside because the calmness that consumes you helps.
You’re both sitting on a stone bench when he speaks first. “You’re going back?......Are you not?” his words have you stunned in silence they're spoken with such sadness and heartbreak.
How could...how could he think you’d leave? Now that-
“I'm coming with you!” Damian yells.
“Damian no that-” you hurriedly try to explain,
He stands up from the bench, visibly determined to not let you get a word in.“No Y/N if you’re leaving I'm coming with. I don't want to not see you again sister and if you have to go back I'll go back with you!”
You blow out a breath and smile up at him. “Oh, Damian I'm not going back to the League.”
“And I will- wait! Wait you're not leaving?” He asks with a confused tilt of his head.
You smile and shake you head, “No Damian I'm not.” It’s now his turn to be stunned into silence. You suppose you owe him an explanation.
“Damian, this life you’ve built, the progress you’ve made it’s extraordinary! You don’t understand how incredibly proud I am of you. This life you’ve grown in too is all I have ever wanted for you Damian.”
“I don't understand this sounds like a good bye!”
“You haven't let me finished Dami.” You scold him lightly.
“Sorry.” he says sheepishly. You let out chuckle before continuing.
“You’ve inspired me my little raven.” The sudden confusion painting his face makes you swell with pride.
“Not only have you changed Damian but so have I. My six month long mission has opened my eyes on so many things and made me change as a person also. I’m staying here with you Damian.”
His face lights up and he smiles. Practically jumping in his seat. “Not here!” his face falls confused yet again, oh shit.
“No! No, I mean not the manor but Gotham. I’m staying here in Gotham.” Relief floods his entire face but also disappointment.
“I’m staying here Damian, but I need to have my own apartment” It’s adorable to see his pout.
 “But!”
“No buts Dami.” he looks off to the side. “I love you my little raven and this is not about me not wanting to be living with you but I need to have my own place. I am a grown adult. You understand that part right”
“Yeah, I guess” he says annoyed. Your brother is the epitome of sweetness.
“Come here.” you say opening you arms.
He looks up at you and smiles and wraps his arms around your neck, tucking his face underneath your chin. Holding him there you can’t help but ask, “You mad at me my love?”
“No! No, never sister it’s just I wish you could live here in Father’s manor. Although I understand why you choose to find your own place here in Gotham. I’m just happy you're not leaving.”
“Me too Dami, me too”
You both look out the garden together, basking in the comfortable silence and welcoming the cool breeze blowing through your hair. Enjoying each other’s company, making up for all the time that you lost.
“But you’re staying here with Father and I until we find you a suitable enough home.” He says firmly. In a way that you know his decision is not budging.
Yes, how could you forget. Apartment hunting. You can't wait for Damian to reject every apartment you see. “Of course Dami.”
“I love you Y/N” your heart warms. This is exactly where you’re supposed to be. You’re happy. You're free. But most importantly, Damian is happy and he’s finally free. With your arms around your little brother and head perched on top of his head, You're ready. “I love you too my little raven, more than you could ever know.”
OH.MY.GOD. I am SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY!!!

And if one of the batfam just so happen to develop not-quite-so-platonic feelings for the reader, so be it :)
Honestly I've consumed Batman media but when it comes to comics and the lore of the Robins and all that, I'm remarkably uninformed, but the one I'm leaning towards the hardest, besides Bruce obviously, is Jason
I mean, for the sake of informing those not in the know, the original first Robin was Dick Grayson and after he became older, Batman found another protégé in Jason Todd, but at some point Jason is kidnapped by the Joker and horrifically tortured over the course of i think its a full year, beaten with a crowbar, and presumably killed with the "evidence" sent to Batman who believes he's dead and, never finds Jason, who is resurrected with the Lazarus Pit (something something evil league of assassins and also the mother of Bruce's blood son Damian is here, Talia Al'Ghul)
Eventually Jason comes back to Gotham as his own antihero identity, Red Hood, and he has his own take on justice greatly varying from his mentor: he now uses guns and even kills when he deems it necessary. And when Jason and Bruce finally meet and Bruce finds out Jason was alive this whole time, Jason's reaction is "I wasn't mad you never found me. I'm mad you let Joker do that to me and you still let him live" like he was deeply wounded by this betrayal and has to be basically rehabilitated back to being a hero (and also that performance is by Jensen Ackles which I never knew until today lol)
So I can just only imagine the levels of unhinged if Jason gets over his, you know, constant killing and is finally back to being like somewhat relatively normal and a vigilante again and then you have a situation like "oh Reader is kidnapped and hurt by the Joker too, maybe even sexually assaulted" and when Jason finds out it just triggers him being Red Hood all over again. I can imagine him wanting to take you away from this horrible life and this man (Bruce) who keeps getting everyone around him hurt and still doesn't have the balls to get the job done, at least in Jason's eyes
I remember watching this scene from Death in the Family and thinking about, what if Jason is just sitting there in that bed having this angry monologue and his thoughts shift to Reader and he has no hatred or animosity towards them at all, in fact, he's horrified. Why is Bruce risking your life by bringing you into this sort of lifestyle? So the man doesn't love Jason OR you? And he makes the decision that you're only going to get hurt if you stay with "the family" as it now disgusts him to even call it that
Like can you even imagine the rage and trauma and anguish he would feel if you know, the Batfam is gathered around and welcoming him back, and then, after everyone else has gone, you come into the room and you're just an absolute mess, shaking at the sight of him, instantly crying. "I wanted to keep looking for you," just absolutely weeping "they told me you were gone and I needed to move on but I kept wanting to at least-at least find your body and they... they...!" And Jason finds out, well of course YOU never could have rescued him or killed the Joker, because Jason's disappearance and 'death' was the last straw that finally sent you into a mental breakdown after dedicating yourself to Bruce's "mission" and you're not even allowed to leave the manor by yourself anymore and he can tell by looking at you that you've lost so much weight and not in a healthy way
And just like that, Jason readjusts his plans. He is not the only one who is going to escape from this mansion tonight. He feels rage boiling his blood as Bruce finally realizes you've spent so long in his room talking to him and one look at your puffy eyes and ragged breathing and the man decides, well you're just simply too overwhelmed to keep talking to Jason right now, you better go eat dinner and get some rest. And Jason grits his teeth as he sees you just, relent, as if you're used to not even having an option, still crying and obviously not wanting to go, still wanting to see him and touch him and talk to him and know he's still alive, but Bruce says to go, and so, you go.
And Jason would rather die a second time than let things end here.

A Swing and A Miss
Awesomest of Them All 2.0
Part 9 of 13
Word Count: 2001
Batman x Batmom!Reader
You know what the bat family needs? Someone to pull them together and give them all the love they deserve. Who better to do that than you? An author rising to stardom in Gotham who catches the eye of a billionaire with your standoffish attitude at a huge social gathering. You are yourself and never pretend to be more or less than that. Plus you're the most stubborn person in the world, refusing to let good things go without reason.
This is a rewrite of my story Awesomest of Them All, I wanted to see how much I've improved over 3 years.
You and Bruce had been sitting on the couch together when his phone went off, it was a phone call. Who it was from you didn't know, all you knew was that he got up and went to the other room to take it. He doesn't usually do that, but on the rare occasion he does leave the room to take a call you don't mind as it's usually for a good reason.
Bruce walks back into the room, pinching the bridge of his nose, looking done. "I need to go take care of something. I'll be back later."
"What is it?" You try to ask, and aren't surprised when Bruce doesn't answer. "Okay, I'll see you when you get back," you say going up and kissing him gently on the lips. He kisses you back then heads down to the cave.
You don't sit back down, instead going to find something to do, to occupy your mind while Bruce is gone. Something had him upset but until he was ready to talk about it you weren't going to get it out of him, so that meant you got to either worry or keep busy.
Keeping busy was obviously the better option, so, you went and found the kids to sit in the same room as them. There's your two sons, Dick and Tim, your one adopted daughter Cass, plus Stephanie and Barbara who were like daughters to you.
"Hey mom," Dick says, looking up from where he was on his phone next to Babs, "where's dad?"
You shrug slightly, "not sure, he said he needed to take care of something and took off towards the cave."
"Oh, you want me to go check on him?"
"Not yet," you smile at your oldest who was always trying to take care of you, "he just left. I'm pretty sure he just needs to figure it out on his own first then he'll let me know what's going on."
"Alright," Dick concludes the conversation, but you can feel the eyes of the other kids on you.
Cass catches your attention and signs, "you can come sit with us," from her spot on the couch. She then pats the empty seat next to her.
You thank her in ASL with a hand to your chin as you go take a seat next to her. Cassandra was quiet, having an easier time communicating through asl than out loud. It always made you smile on the rare occasion you got her hear her soft little voice, and to know she was comfortable enough to talk to you, but you had learned sign language specifically for her, wanting to make sure she was comfortable all the time.
You gently put an arm around her and kiss the side of her head, then you go to remove your arm, knowing she doesn't always like to be touched. But she stops you from letting go of the hug and leans against you, maybe she just knew that you needed it at the moment to help get your mind off Bruce but either way, she didn't let go so you didn't either.
Stephanie scoots closer to you, taking the other seat next to you and offers you a controller. "We're playing Mario Kart, you want to play a few rounds Mrs.Wayne?"
You laugh gently, "I'm afraid I'm a bit out of practice, all of you would easily kick my ass."
"Come on, pleeeaaaasssee mom," Tim joins in in begging you with his ex, turned best friend.
You laugh and take the controller, "fine I guess I'll try a few rounds."
"Yes!" Dick joins in, cheering you on as Babs gets things set up.
Tim had hotwired the two Wii's so all of you could play together without having to figure out how to do it online. So, the six of you were easily able to start a game and begin racing the many different tracks just having fun together as the kids knowingly distracted you from your worries.
It's a more than a few hours later when Bruce returns home. The kids had all gone down to the cave to get ready for patrol, and you had gone with them. They were about to head out when the roar of an engine cause everyone's attention and Bruce parked the bat mobile and got out, looking stressed and tired.
Dick goes over to him and tells him they're going to head out, and can cover things tonight.
Brice nods and doesn't argue, simply turning to look at you as the kids leave. He doesn't approach you until they've all left and you don't give him a choice but to hug you as you hug him.
"Do you want to change?" You ask, knowing he's obviously upset about something, but willing to be patient while he figures out what it is he needs to tell you.
"Sure, I'll change and we can go sit in our room," he says and kisses the top of your head before turning to get out of the batsuit.
It doesn't take him long to change, and the two of you head upstairs, hand in hand and take a seat on the couch in your bedroom. He just holds you for a while, obviously thinking through what he needs to tell you, and this only causes you more worry.
"Bruce, my love, you know you can tell me anything," you try and reassure him with a kiss on the cheek.
This reassurance works, as he finally speaks up, gently saying, "I have a son, he's 9."
This surprises you, and you don't exactly have a good response, you lean back away from him to look at his face as you quietly ask, "you have a biological son?"
"Yes, I didn't know until today, but he's 9... we've been together 11 years, my love-" this is when he begins to break his normally stoic demeanor.
This is also when you catch on to what he is saying. You had been with him at the time this child was conceived. That hurt. You turned to look away from him, not moving away but taking a moment to think.
There's a few minutes of silence before you speak, "how did it happen?"
You give him a chance to explain and he jumps on it, beginning to tell you what he knows. Starting with the fact that Thalia Al'Ghul was the mother, how she had apparently drugged him in order to have a child with him. His son had been raised by the League of Assassins, taught that he was the one to inherit the mantle of Batman.
It was... a lot. And it hurt to hear, especially due to the fact that you and Bruce had been unable to have a child of your own for many reasons. But, you turn to your husband, the man you were still head over heels for and say as gently as you can, "I'm not sure what I'm feeling right now but it isn't anger."
He looks at you and brushes your hair out of your face, "are you sure you're alright?" He's clearly still worried about his standing with you.
You gently lean to kiss him on the lips, "I'm not sure I'd call it alright, but we will be fine. My husband isn't a cheater, and that would be my biggest worry."
You can see more of the stress and worry leave his face as you speak and he pulls you into a tight hug. "I am so sorry my love. Thank you for giving me a chance to explain-"
You lean back from him once again, taking your hands to cup his cheeks. "Bruce, you didn't know. She drugged you and I trust you enough to know that's the truth. I'm going to need some time to get used to the idea, and figure out exactly how it is I am feeling. But promise me that we will be open and communicate about all of this as we get more information, deal?"
Bruce sighs in relief, "Deal," with that he wraps his arms around your waist and kisses you deeply.
It's at this point he informs you that Thalia had sent Damian, their son, to live with Bruce for a time. Damian would be coming the next morning and Bruce hadn't been able to have any say in it, barely able to convince them to wait long enough for him to talk to you first. It was yet another thing you could only describe as a lot but this was life, you had to roll with the punches or you'd never be able to move forward.
Two days later you still had yet to meet Damian. You were ninety-five percent sure it was because the boy was avoiding you. You sat eating breakfast and contemplating this when you hear someone behind you say, "Tt, you must be my father's harlot."
You raise your eyebrow and turn around to face the boy, "Harlot?"
"That is what my mother calls you," Damian says looking at you disgustedly.
You are so exhausted by this entire situation that the sass just slips out of you and you laugh. "I mean, that's one way to go about saying she's jealous of me because I have a ring and she doesn't."
Damian is clearly surprised by the fact that you just laughed off him calling you a harlot. He, "tt,"s again and just walks right back out of the kitchen, unwilling to admit you had surprised him.
You watch him leave, and he passes Bruce as he does. Once Damian is gone you shake your head and go back to your breakfast.
"I see you've met Damian," Bruce comments.
You offer him a slight smirk and a shake of your head, "yep, finally showed himself just to call me a harlot."
"A har-" Bruce starts, clearly outraged by the fact that anyone would dare call his beloved wife a harlot.
"Yeah," you laugh again, "he left just as fast because I laughed at the thought."
Bruce sighs, relaxing with how you had taken it, he takes a seat next to you and wraps you in a hug. "I'm glad that you didn't let him get to you."
"Yeah, though as far as introductions go, I think he's going to take some getting used too."
"Yeah, he's quite the character after being raised by the LoA."
You smile and lean against Bruce as you finish your food, "yeah, but eventually he'll have to figure out I'm just as stubborn as him for having put up with your shit for this long," you tease and he laughs.
It's a few hours later the next time you see Damian and he tries to insult you in yet another way, "you're weak, and would never be able to take anyone down. You aren't worthy of father."
This one is creative, you'll admit that but you shake your head. "I never claimed to be a fighter, if you'd stuck around earlier I could have told you that. Though, the first time I met your 'father," you say mocking his tone, "I kicked a green haired clown in the head so that has to count for something."
Damian once again just leaves, you weren't supposed to take these things so well, you were supposed to run off crying, not agree with him.
This goes on for a while, him trying to insult you and you just not having it. It goes on until he stops, knowing he'd have to find some other way to get under your skin. Meanwhile you try to get to the bottom of his behavior. Why does he feel like he needs to put you down in comparison to his mother and how can you show him he can trust you enough to not have to do that to keep a place in this family? It might take a while but you'd sure as hell figure it out.

" all the best people have some kind of scar "
i love this sm !
warnings: mentions of scars (from being robin)
damian wayne x gn! reader
you knew he was insecure. that he worried over his body and his face. that he covered the frequent bruises and bumps from his night escapades. but what you knoew most of all was his fear of showing you his scars. the brittle thick slashes in his back from the league of assassins. the small indent permanently places in his hairline.
he was embarrassed by them - felt as though it showed his weakness.
today is one of those days where its worse than usual. its summer and he's wearing long sleeves with a coat - hands tugging down to make the sleeve longer.
the room is warm and both your skin is slick with sweat, you decides it's simple too warm to wear a jacket and start to move your hands towards the maroon cloth.
"dami it's too hot - your gonna burn to death"
"i-i'm fine."
it was a telltale - his stutter he'd had since birth slipping past his lips whenever insecurities reared its ugly head.
"damian," you move to lay against his torso, hand caressing his cheek, "it's just me, and i love you."
"i know i just..."
you peck his face is small light kisses - everywhere you reach gets a kiss. from his blushing ears to his chapped lips. because you need him to know every part of him is worth loving
you get to the point on his hairline and slowly look at him - waiting for a nod that quickly comes before touching it.
you spend the most time there, kissing and caressing and touching the spot with tender and so much love.
that's all you want. for him to feel loved, "you know what damian."
"what?"
"all the best people have some kind of scar. and you damian al'ghul wayne," you bop his nose (he scrunches it so cutely you kiss it too) before finishing "are the best person i know."
