"-ei, REI!!!" A voice broke Rei from the trance she was in. Looking up she saw her leader already standing "Break time is over, come on we need to practice" Nodding she turned off her phone after taking one last look at the sent message and putted it away.

After going through the choreography for 2 more hours it was finally time to come home. Rei picked up her phone and smiled at the displayed message.

"I wish you were here" Rei mumbled still looking at the message, not noticing Gaeul staring at her. Worried for her younger member Gaeul ran up to Yujin was was packing her stuff with Wonyoung "Yujin-ah" hitting her on her back a few times successfully got Yujin's attention.

"Ow unnie? What the hell?" Yujin turned around to look at the older member. Her annoyed expression changed to a worried one when she saw how sad Gaeul looked "Something's wrong with Rei" Looking behind her, the two girls could see Rei waiting for them like normally but she definitely looked a little down "Yeah she looks quite sad lately, even more than usual. And she's also looking at her phone more often" Wonyoung chimed in also worried for their friend.

"I'll talk to her when we get home okay? Don't worry guys" Yujin smiled to assure the other members a little but it was obvious that she was worried too. Rei used to hide from them if something was wrong with her to not worry them (Flashback to 1 2 3 IVE Ep.4, I was tearing up watching🥲) and fortunately she became more open about her health and troubles with them so when she did hide something, it worried everyone even more.

Rei was quiet during the ride back to the dorms. Gaeul, Yujin and Wonyoung kept glancing at her while Jiwon and Hyunseo were playing some weird game. To cheer her up a little they even played a Red Velvet song but even this didn't worked. The members were left puzzled.

Back at the dorm everyone went their ways to rest before another tiring day. When Yujin noticed Rei going to her room, she stopped her "Rei-ssi, can we talk for a second?" Nodding she took a seat beside the leader and motioned for her to continue "Rei, you know that you can talk to us if anything's wrong right?" Rei was surprised by Yujin's sudden words but quickly realized how obvious she has been.

"I know, I'm fine really" Rei tried to assure Yujin but a few seconds later she decided that maybe it was better to talk to somebody. She did wanted to vent to someone about everything she felt and she knew that Yujin was the best person to do that. She trusted her and knew that the older girl would never judge her no matter what.

"Okay I'm not. The truth is I have a girlfriend-" Yujin's eyes widened at the news, not expecting something like this. How did no one knew that Rei was in a relationship "Really? For how long? What is her name? Is she good to you? Is she cute?" Laughing at her leader's quick questions, Rei answered "Her name is Y/N. We met when we were kids and started dating in middle school and yes she is cute" Yujin giggled and told Rei to continue what she was saying earlier.

"Continuing, ever since I came to Korea to pursue a career as an idol, I missed her. And lately it has been more apparent and I don't know how much longer I will hold myself back from going to a first flight to Japan just to see her" Yujin squeezed Rei's hand to give the girl some comfort, it was obvious that the situation hurted Rei. Yujin wasn't sure if she would manage to survive without seeing her girlfriend for more than few days so she guessed how hard it was for Rei to not see you for months.

Suddenly an idea came to her mind as she looked at sulking Rei. After comfort her for a little longer, they bid a goodnight and Rei went to her room while Yujin stayed behind. After making sure that she was alone Yujin made a call, determined to make Rei happy again.

"Hello? I hope I don't disturb. Could I ask you a favor?"

The practice continued like always, only difference being Yujin cutting it off and letting everyone go home earlier than usual. She was the one who left first, followed by Wonyoung's eyes. She already knew that the older had something planned but due to her trust she didn't questioned it much, instead she went to help Gaeul pack her stuff.

Yujin came back to the dorms some time after midnight. From the entrance first thing she was met with were Wonyoung's eyes staring a hole into her body. Trying to act innocent Yujin walked up to her to give her a quick kiss on the lips but the younger one dodged it "Where were you?" Suddenly feeling nervous Yujin tried to turn it into a joke "Is it some kind of interrogation? I don't remember stealing anything, well except for your heart" Saying it with a wink caused Wonyoung to turn red and Yujin to laugh.

"I'm serious. You never come back so late, especially since you didn't had any schedule today" Wonyoung intertwined their fingers as Yujin hummed, listening to her "I had something to do to help Rei okay? Don't worry, it's nothing" She reassured her and kissed her on her nose "Now come on, it's late. Let's go to sleep" Nodding, Wonyoung let herself be pulled by Yujin.

Days. It took days for Yujin to finally finish preparing her surprise for Rei. Now all of them were backstage of their comeback showcase and Yujin waited for the surprise to arrive. Everyone were doing their own thing. Yujin was suspiciously standing close to the door (Sneaky my love🙃), Gaeul and Wonyoung were recording some behind the scenes content for their fans and Rei, Jiwon and Hyunseo talked about what kind of food they would eat after this. Rei looked at her phone a lot that day, probably wondering why weren't you answering her texts, seeing this Yujin smirked.

Around 10 minutes later a knocking could be heard and after checking the time Yujin knew who was behind them "Rei you should open the door" Confused Rei asked "Aren't you literally standing next to them?" A few seconds of silence took over as Yujin stood with her mouth hanging open "Just open the door" Rolling her eyes Rei stood up and walked over to the door, opening them. What she saw shocked her.

You stood there with a smile, looking at her with tears pricking at your eyes, causing her own to glass too. Without any warning you crashed into her, her arms instinctively wrapping around you as the rest of the girls finally noticed what was going on. The scene left them to wonder who you were but they decided to wait after seeing how emotional both of you were in this moment.

Rei was overwhelmed. The feeling of finally being able to hug you, to pull you impossibly close to her, to smell you and to kiss you were too much for her causing her to start crying on the spot, the pent-up emotions that she kept in all these years finally pouring out. Yujin who watched the scene also teared up "Y-You're here? You're really h-here?" Rei sobbed into your shoulder and you laughed lightly, rubbing her back "Yeah, I'm here you dummy" You kissed her cheek.

Rei pulled away from you slightly "But how? Weren't you too busy to come here?" Your girlfriend's question made you look behind her and at Yujin "I had a help from a certain someone" Following your eyes, her own ones widened. Before she could ask Yujin about how she did that, the latter already answered "I asked your mom for help and we managed to make it happen somehow" Hearing about what her mom and Yujin did for her warmed Rei's heart. She sure was lucky to be surrounded with people like them.

"There is also one more surprise that I have for you" You got Rei's attention immediately "I don't think anything is going to beat you visiting me" You smirked at your girlfriend's words "Yeah? What if I tell you that I transferred schools and I'm moving to Korea?" Rei's eyes widened at your words.

What?

You're moving to Korea?

"Really? Oh my god, I can't believe it" Rei yelled excitedly, hugging you and spinning you around a few times. You giggled at her antics before she stopped you with a kiss. Gasps could be heard around you not only from the other members but also the staff working there. Yujin was the only one not surprised, instead she just smiled at you two.

The rest of the members looked at you both in shock, not believing what they were seeing. Gaeul's hand automatically covered Hyunseo's eyes, earning a whine from the youngest who was curious about the situation. After the need for some air kicked in you pulled away from your girlfriend who in exchange gave you a disapproving look "Don't look at me like that baby. Now that I'm going to live in Korea with you, you will have a lot more chances to kiss me" Smiling at the thought Rei pulled you into her more and kissed the top of your head "I surely hope so. I need to make up for the time I wasn't able to do that" She looked down on you.

"Then I can't wait, love" Quickly stealing another kiss from your lips, your girlfriend pulled away from you and dragged you over to her members to introduce you to them and listen to their interrogation that she knew was coming. She didn't cared though, too busy thinking about how happy she was to finally have you close to her for longer than a few weeks.

Gun would successfully drive people to their destinations sometimes. But if he gets a text from Crystal or Chairman Choi while he’s out, he has no choice but to literally pull over to the side of the road and tell that customer to immediately get out.

Anon. Review: This driver made me get off on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, when I’m basically tired and just got out from a party that my co-workers held! When I told him, “Why do I have to get off from here?! I don’t even know where we are!” All he said to me was, “Pity. Not my problem. Step out now, or I’ll drag you out.” He was OUTRAGEOUS!!! 🤬

Goo Kim: ★☆☆☆☆ (Worst)

Goo is a fun driver to be with, until… he accidentally crashes into a car in front of him. He usually talks a lot while driving his customers, but gets distracted most of the time while driving. However, he’ll dismiss the damages as if it’s nothing.

Anon. Review: This guy… Whew, let me tell you. One time, this driver picked me up from my house since I called an Uber to drop me off at a karaoke place to meet up with a friend. When I left my house, I saw that he was parked in between two cars on the side of my street. One in front, and one behind him. When I got inside his car, he greeted himself and he asked me to confirm my destination to the karaoke place. He then started talking about his experiences in karaoke. It was quite an… interesting topic. I wasn’t sure if I heard him right, but I think he mentioned something about having to beat up people…? Couldn’t entirely remember. But while he was trying to get out from in between the two cars, he looked behind me to talk. I noticed that the car was still moving forward since he forgot to hit the brakes, and I did say, “SIR, THE CAR IS STILL MOVING!!!” Next thing you know it, he accidentally hit the back of my neighbor’s car. All he said after that was, “It’s fine! It’s not a big deal!” Well it is for me, you b******. I had to pay for the repercussions because you wouldn’t. AND WHO OVERCHARGES THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS WHEN IT’S THEIR FAULT WHO SMASHED INTO ANOTHER CAR’S REAR??? 😭

Johan Seong: ★★★☆☆

Johan is a nice driver. He makes sure passengers are all buckled up and ready to go, but his driving can be scary at times since he usually drives really fast while on the road.

Anon. Review: Johan is so considerate towards his passengers right when you enter his car. Even though he’s a young driver, he made sure safety is key before hitting the road. But when he started driving… the kid was a menace. While he was driving me to work, HE BEAT THREE STOP LIGHTS IN ONE GO!!! I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO DIE!!! Despite the speeding, I made it right on the dot thanks to him. That’s why, in my opinion, he deserves 3 stars. (If you see this kid, thanks for getting me to work on time. But please drive more safely next time.)

Samuel Seo: ★★★★☆

Samuel is a gentleman when it comes to being an Uber driver. He is a responsible man who gets the job done. His service is excellent, down to the last objective. But when it comes to driving, he has a flaw with patience.

Anon. Review: Oh my, this handsome man was such a good driver! Samuel picked me up from the airport and he managed to drive me to the right hotel. While driving out of the airport, however, he can be a little impatient. We were stuck in a line full of cars, just to leave the pick-up/drop-off area in about 45 minutes. Every few minutes, he would roll down the window and yell at other drivers to move whenever he saw that there’s room. The road-rage was a bit scary, but he was kinda hot while doing it ngl… 😳 But he was still very polite, since he apologized for his pushy behavior. Once we got out of the airport’s vicinity, he was very careful. He followed the rules of the road and he was very helpful when we arrived at the hotel. This man assisted me by unloading my luggage bags from the trunk too! He’s so nice. AHHHHH I wish I get this hunk again to drive me to other places!!!

Jake Kim: ★★★★★ (Best)

Jake as a driver is like the life of a party. Not only is he a polite and charming driver, but he also offers good additional service. This includes giving out free water to his customers and asking what type of music they’d be interested in listening to while he drives.

Anon. Review: Oh my god, I love this guy! He’s the coolest driver who I’ve ever encountered. Right when I hopped into his car, he was so sweet! He asked how was my day, and made sure I was comfortable in his car. Afterwards, he asked if it was too hot or too cold in the backseat, and what type of music do I want to listen to. I had a VERY interesting chat with him, that is mainly focused on the topic of his butt. That was…fun. He’s even good at driving! I’ve never felt so relaxed while speaking to an Uber driver AND while riding in an Uber car before. When he dropped me off at the right destination, he gave me a refreshment before I left. Even if it’s just a bottle of water, he really made my day. His kindness towards me amazed me, and that’s why Jake deserves 5 stars from me!

The sky was cloudy, consuming your apartment in darkness despite it being the early hours of the afternoon. You were curled up on your sofa wrapped up in a blanket watching one of your guilty pleasure movies.

You picked up the remote and turned up the volume to the tv a few decimals after hearing mother nature’s roar for the millionth time this week. It’s been storming the past five days which has put a huge damper on your week.

The light and ringing from your phone perked your attention as you picked it up from the coffee table. It was Miguel. Your heart ached when his face, the image you used for his contact, lit up your phone. You pressed the answer button, holding your breath, wondering what sorry excuse you we’re going by to give him this time. For the past five days you have been telling Miguel you couldn’t go out on your date for a stupid excuse.

1st Excuse: Sorry I’m feeling under the weather today. How about tomorrow?

2nd Excuse: Sorry my brother called me, he needs my help moving.

3rd Excuse: Sorry I’m working late tonight.

On the other side, Miguel was curious what your next excuse would be to not see him. You had only been dating for a month, but he could tell when you were lying. It hurt every time he called you this week and heard you make up a lie to not see him instead of telling him the truth.

“Hey”

“Hey, are you still available tonight to go to dinner?” After his words another loud clap of thunder pierced through the sky making you almost drop your phone.

“I’m sorry Miguel, I’m stuck at the office again. I have a deadline due tonight. Another rain check?”

“Cariño…” Miguel’s voice turned slightly serious which made you bite your lip, knowing he wasn’t buying it. Another strike of thunder roared through the sky.

“I-I need to go.”

“Y/n wai-“ You hung up before he could pry further. You lightly banged your head on your knees, hating yourself for just hanging up on your boyfriend. It had only been a month since you began dating after a mutual friend set you two up. You really liked him. He was caring, thoughtful, smart, funny, and you didn’t want to sound so artificial but he was hot as hell.

But you kept beating yourself up that you were treating him so badly this week. But how could you tell him you were deathly afraid of thunder and lightning?

Last time you told a guy you were dating they laughed and made fun of you for having a childish fear. A knock brought you back to your senses. Getting up from the couch you opened the door before checking who it was, which was a huge mistake. When you opened the door you came face to face with you boyfriend who had a not too happy face. His reddish brown gaze made you shrink in your place.

“I thought you were at work.” Miguel’s serious tone made you wince slightly. You understood the anger in his tone. You step aside to let him in so you could close the door. Once inside he turned to you, his arms crossed making his muscles naturally flex.

“I-I wasn’t at work. I’m sorry for lying.” Your gaze shifted away from his before looking back at him. You felt a stab to your heart when you saw his angry gaze turn sad.

“The other times I called you this week. Did you lie then too?” Miguel asked despite knowing the answer already. He just wanted you to tell him the truth.

“Yes.”

“Why? It’s feels worse to know you want to end things but stringing me along?” His words made your eyes widen as you quickly go to him and cup his cheeks.

“Miguel, why would you think I want to break up with you? Of course I don’t! I love you.” You were shocked with your last words that came out of your mouth. Miguel’s eyes were wide, surprised by your words too.

“You love me?”

“Of course I do. I’ve never felt so connected to someone before. My heart skips a bit every time I think of you or see you.” You couldn’t believe you just poured your heart out to your boyfriend of only one month.

“I love you too, cariño.” His words made your heart skip a bit as tear brimmed your eyes.

“You do?” Miguel placed his arms around you as he brought you against his chest.

“You are the light of my life. I hate ever second I don’t spend with you. But why the sudden distance? The lies?”

As if Mother Nature wanted to tell Miguel herself a struck of thunder clapped very loud as if the lightning stuck right in your living room. The noise made you jump in fright as you bury your face in his chest.

“Y/n? Are you ok?” You could hear the concern in his voice as you looked back up at him seeing his eyes look just as concerned as his voice. You took a deep breath.

“The reason I’ve been making excuses to not go on our date was because I’m deathly afraid of lightning and thunder. And since the weather has been like this all week, I haven’t been able to step outside of my apartment.”

“Is that all?” Miguel let out a breath of relief. You didn’t want to break up with him.

“You aren’t going to laugh at me or mock me?” A small chuckle escaped from you. Miguel’s eyebrows scrunched up as a pout formed on his lips.

“Why would I do that to you? It’s normal to have fears. Plus, having you in my arms to protect you from the thunder. Mi amor, is it bad that I love it?” A smirk appeared on his face which made your cheeks tint slightly. You go on your toes as you placed a kiss on his lips which he gladly reciprocated.

“How about I order us some Chinese from your favorite place and we watch one of our favorite shows.”

“That sounds perfect.” You smiled before you jumped again from another clap of thunder. Miguel kept you in his arms as he kissed your forehead.

“Don’t worry. I’ll protect you.”

(and ph basketball in general. sad na wala na yung hype masyado which i’m not surprised at all given how problematic the players are like???? sighs. toxic masculinity ew—theory q lang naman tho)

your writing is AMAZING pls like i’m not even kidding. you’re seriously one of the best writers across all platforms bc you can truly see and feel the effort you put in making your stories and dare i say you also don’t make your audience feel dumb (i can make a whole other 10-page essay about this PLS pero wag muna) and respect them by creating all these nuanced and character-driven stories (which is SO hard to find). i’m rereading “a still day or a hurricane” as a law girlie now 🥺

Hiii I am here! Late to reply but I'm here! And lolll a usual story! It often starts with the men haha. My dad was a huge fan, too, so our TV always had basketball on. But I've come to love the sport even as a spectator! Whereas you've come to use it as a journalist nakkssss 😌😌 hahaha but true. PH basketball is sooo different now. I think it's also the culture. I can't even keep up with the conferences and the players and stuff. Nice to know my UAAP heroes are thriving but it's just not the same.

As for your lovely words... THANK YOU. 🥹 I'm such a context person in that I like exploring the why's of people - why they do what they do and say what they say. It always comes from somewhere, and a lot of it is fear. It's such a human feeling, so is desire. But I love writing about love, too, and that itself is complicated and beautiful. And I know it's just fanfic but it's a way for me to kind of release all these reflections and insights into the world and I'm just happy you're able to connect with these very flawed fictional humans! There's a little of us in them for sure! 💕

Lol sometimes I wish the stories would stop bc I won't stop thinking about them! I literally have scenes and dialogues written up for stories that idk if I'll ever get to actually write but yeah, hopefully there's energy and inspiration to match the ideas. " Richy! What has gotten into you?! ", Jessy opened her lid of turmoil, but what she received back from him was a genuine apologetic face. That drastically made her guilty.

" I'm preparing your favourite dish for dinner, and you're gonna watch", he said, looking for a pan and the ingredients in the cupboard.

"Richy..You don't know the recipe...", Jessy said, hiding her flushed cheeks. The chaos he caused a few seconds ago perished from her mind.

" I learnt it for you. It's not like I'm doing this to please you, I'm planning to see you happy 24x7.And I'm never giving up on that, understand? ", he replied with an oblivious smile, not realising what he does,lets her heart skip a beat, again and again.

"Oh my…I mean, I'll atleast help you", she remarked as she treaded, but she halted at the sight of his attempted cooking.

" Are you drunk, babe? ", she faked a frown, suppressing her laugh that would break out anytime.

"I'm not drunk. Can a drunk person do this?", he babbled, squinting his eyes.

" You're not doing anything", Jessy commented and gestured him to look what stunt he was playing.

Richy was successfully pouring water into an empty pan.

"Ah, a bowl, a bowl is what I need now", he said innocently, scratching his neck. Jessy pecked a kiss in his cheeks, and hugged him.

Having him endlessly bound to her side all her entire life, she knew really well how and who can guide her to the paradise of happiness; Richy, obviously.

She also knew,he wasn't doing this because of not being sober. This became an opportunity to know a lot more of his true feelings. Yet, she wanted to tease him a bit. "So,you are drunk. No wonder you were so romantic today", she sighed.

He finally hugged her back, saying" What do you mean, today? I am always romantic, when it comes to you", he released his hug and winked.

"Gosh, that's cheesy", she chuckled for which he argued again that he wasn't.

In the middle of that, he asked , " How about baby? ".

" Baby? How can… You're already talking about a baby? ", Jessy was too much shocked that she kept mumbling 'baby' with her eyes wide open.

“But… I sent you my love. Did you… did you not get it?”, he pondered.

" I.. I don't understand. You sent it?? ", she blinked for a while, and the fact behind his words flashed before her eyes.

" No way! You're talking about the puppy I told you about! Are you really going to buy a puppy? For me? ", she screamed and shook his hands in excitement.

" Yes! Yes! Hold on, honey. I swear that I asked the shop owner to bring the puppy to you, yesterday", he said, taking out his phone and scrolled to check the online website.

"Damn! ", he hissed running his hands through his hair and said, " I mentioned the day wrongly".

"Why, is that going to be a problem? ", she asked impatiently.He linked his fingers to hers, and shook his head.

" I felt awful when you went on saying you missed me,while texting", he stuttered and squeezed her hands.

He continued, "So I hastily informed the owner to send the puppy earlier..What I originally wanted was ,us to go in person and get the puppy. I thought you were angry with me and waited for your chat, whole day. Hahaha, that's how I ended up getting drunk and returning sooner, but don't yell at me,I made sure to finish my job, pinky promise".

Jessy remained quiet, and Richy panicked internally. "I did something silly, I know. I'm so sorry, Jessy", he sighed, wandering his eyes to interpret the reaction in her face.

" I forgive you, my silly lover. But on one condition", she looked serious and he nodded , ready to listen to whatever his dream girl asks for.

"How many hours are you planning to stand in the kitchen and talk? ", she whispered.

He went blank for a second and then added, "I don't understand the condition.Can you ,maybe, explain it? "

She narrowed her eyes and huffed. "Nevermind.I am going to make dinner".

"What? No! Please! Come on,Jessy! I really don't understand! What is that you want? ",he whimpered following her everywhere around the kitchen.
