Will answer for Sarah and Alvera, two of my ladies who I feel deserve more attention than they get.

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to them?

Vera called Elias "Dad." once and it plagues her every waking moment. To be fair to Elias, it's not like he made fun of her for it, he actually thought it was very sweet, but Vera will not let herself live it down.

Sarah stuttered when she asked Vera to marry her. Seeing as she had someone recording the moment for memento purposes, it's perfectly immortilized.

What is their greatest regret?

I think both of them have a lot of regrets, so it's difficult to choose just one. But for Vera, she'd say "Operation: Sand Viper." That more of them didn't make it through, that they lost so many people, that the people who did live changed permanently. She did gain a lot, a family, friends, even a wife, but during the low moments she wonders where she could be if she opted out of the OP somehow.

For Sarah it's that they didn't look hard enough for Rorke, that they didn't realize he was alive and a POW, that they didn't then rescue him. Because him turning against them causes a lot more regrets down the line. He kills Grim, Torch, Ajax and Elias, then abducts Logan before the "B team" even gets to meet him.

What is their most treasured possession?

Vera is a sap: She'd say her and Sarah's wedding rings.

Sarah is a BIGGER sap: Her answer is Vera.

About My WIP Reflection: Periphery

before I get into it, i want to clarify that Periphery is the planet my gothic horror fantasy book Reflection takes place on. it is a modern fantasy, so the characters know what a planet and science is during the book lol. the planet itself is tidally locked which greatly influences their culture. and also in this world, the deities and magic practiced is based on the concept of egregores. and egregore is "a concept in Western esotericism of a non-physical entity or thoughtform that arises from the collective thoughts and emotions of a distinct group of individuals". now lets get into it :)

Long ago, the small groups people living on Periphery all began to worship what they could not explain: the darkness and the light that split their planet in half. Their planet was inexplicably split in half with only a small band of eternal twilight containing the right conditions for survival. The sun never moved, but the mood did. The moon could go behind the darkness and shine light where the sun could not. So, these ancient people named their deities Samah, the goddess of the sun and creator of all, and Suen, daughter of Samah and watcher of the dark. Eventually, the collective belief of so many individuals brought these deities into the physical plane capable of everything they were said to be of.

Although the deities were brought into life, they needed the worship and belief in them to not fade or their powers would grow weak. In times of peace, the deities often lost their powers without anyone noticing because prayer was more uncommon. During one of these periods thousands of years after Samah and Suen were created, a false prophet named Alvera appeared almost out of nowhere and claimed she knew the truth about the deities. This prophet told masses of people about the real goddess he called Apophenia. Apophenia, she said, was a deity of the planet itself that was there to free the people from the grasps of Samah and Suen with the help of her Worldly Beasts. Over time, the false prophet gained a large following and established the Church of Apophenia. As the Church grew, Apophenia and her Beasts came to be and wreaked havoc across the planet with her army of human followers.

Many wars were fought between the religions, called the Sealing Wars, but ultimately the warriors of Samah and Suen prevailed and sealed the weakened Apophenia and her Beasts into the earth. The only remnants of the cult were few and far between and were never able to be fully eradicated. The Church of Moribund, followed by Lucretia and her family, is one of the sects of the Church of Apophenia that has a strong focus on dying and returning to the earth after death.

Determining Ms Alvera's inclinations can be difficult, making gifts difficult. Eyes, but those can be difficult to find a way to make a tasteful gift in that vein. Blood is, of course, common to all of us, but seems a bit... lazy. Besides, she has her own means of acquisition.

Perhaps Ms Bloem presents some hint? Even if it is not to the same extent, I imagine it likely Ms Alvera holds some fondness for flowers, for Ms Bloem to capture her interest. Or perhaps Ms Bloem's angel modifications?

Perhaps some piece that combines the eye theme with the angel theme? Hm. Perhaps continue pursuing that thought, as a future option.

Aurora Pascal aka Tia (Uriel's secondary caretaker, sister of Claude. Debuts in Repentance.) Claudette Pascal aka Claude aka Cherub (Lt of the Shikar in Repentance, debuts in Placeholder as an informant for the Ghosts. Also appears in Christmas/Yule fic I wrote as "Santa Claude") Alvera Hart aka Vera aka Heart (Debuts in Placeholder, also appears in Repentance. Big sister to all. Very much in love with Sarah. "Lets go lesbians!") Sarah Hart aka Sweetie (Debuts in Placeholder. Also appears in Repentance. Married to Vera in both. Hence the last name.) Adonis Rex aka Ghillie (Insert I wrote for a beloved friend. Debuts in Placeholder, also appears in Repentance. Very close to Keegan in both.) Katar aka Lucky (Literally me. He's a self insert. Debuts in Placeholder, also appears in Repentance. I use him mostly as comic relief, but he does help motivate the plot like twice.) Peter Cruz aka Pig (Debuts in Repentance. One of Dani's subordinates in the Shikar.) Abraham Perez aka Bram aka Shank (Debuts in Repentance. Member of the Shikar. Besties with Pig.) Deimos (One of Dani's dogs.) Would it be cheating to say her world/story? 🤣

For Libitina herself, I'll give you my favorite personality tidbit and a favorite physical tidbit.

Liba is very headstrong, and doesn't let anyone order her around. This can be a bad thing though, as she is needed to carry out a prophecy and basically just said "nuh-uh" and won't do it until she feels like it.

A little needed context for the physical detail is that Liba fully died but was brought back and is now technically undead, and effectively immortal.

Needed to have that context bc the physical detail is her back tattoo, which is known as a death mural. Crystopians have a strict set of burial rights, which include magically tattooing the back of the deceased with something that represents them or is important to them. Liba's death mural is a map bird's eye view of where some of the most important countries to her all kind of meet. There is her adoptive home country of Crystopia, as well as Veydra, Windward Basin, and Isera, which are the countries of origin of some of her closest companions. Windward Basin is small enough to be included in its entirety and is centered as a result. A blue dragon and an oversized phoenix are circling around each other over the basin, creating a yin and yang type of visual. Around the outer edge of the piece is a trellis like frame, which is over growing with vines and hiding glimpses of magical creatures. The trellis' design matches the decorative carvings on Alvera, Liba's battle axe. At the bottom of the mural is the mark of a demi-god like being called Pantera, who's follower had shared Pantera's name and blessing with Liba.

I hope I described it well, I just realized how context heavy it is 😅

I might try to sketch it out but idk how well that would go lol.
