These mid sized chess pieces from the Philippines are a joy to handle. Hand carved, circa 1950-1970, from Kamagong (darker) and Narra wood, red felted bases and come in their original box. One Kamagong pawn has been replaced. I think they really work well with this board, once set up it’s warming and inviting. The board measures 40 x 40cm. Made from solid oak and walnut. Kamagong is a fruit tree indigenous to the Philippines belonging to the ebony tree family. Like ebony has beautiful subtleties in grain and colour. Traditionally used to make martial arts weapons its is extremely dense and hard, sometimes referred to as “iron wood”, as it is nearly unbreakable. Narra wood is also a local timber, rich mellow yellow colouring, it is also known as red sandalwood. These pieces are slightly bigger to compensate for the higher density and weight of the Kamagong pieces. Melfi (Basilicata). Contemporary works of art. Children's games. Along the way to the Castle, Melfi houses some small bronze statues depicting children intent on ancient games. This living presence, which makes the sense of movement, intensifies starting from via dei Normanni. We find perhaps a brat chased by the mother with the broom, the game of the handkerchief, the Luna monda (clean moon), right under the castle ... and others scattered in various points of the city. WE ARE ALWAYS RIGHT: Our Mysticism

     This article was inspired by my 2010 change of perspective that made the World exponentially easier to understand. The truth about us (humans) and our correlation to the universe. The beautiful thing is that we as humans are by far the most complex beings in the World. We have an uncanny ability to see and filter our World as we believe it is.

     We are created in God's image and people a lot of the time fail to realize this fact. Our correlation to the Universe is a wonderful one once we learn how to leverage perspective and become conscious creators. In the beginning it was God and his word and in seven days he creative the foundation of everything in it. This is a testament to the power of the word. The three most powerful things we have in this Universe as humans is our words, thoughts and emotions.

     Our thoughts and beliefs ultimately determine how we see the World. Why? It is because we are so magical and mystical that the Universe will not allow us to be wrong. A living example of this is me, because in 2010 I read the power of Intentions By Wayne Dyer and it woke me up to a number of things. The most memorable quote from the book is "If you change the way you look at thing, th change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." The most important lesson I gained from the reading was the fact that our thoughts are immensely powerful. I shifted my perspective from seeing the World as a deceitful, corrupt and dangerous place to seeing it as a peaceful, loving and abundant place and has changed my life's course  entirely.
