My Theme:

The development of the role of women in Irish society since the 19th century.

So I am looking at the development overtime of women in society and how society treats them and what’s expected of them.

This is my work from yesterday, Tuesday the 1st of October 2024.

The portrait I drew is of my college house mate Ellen Darcy, to explore the facial features of women as I intend to look more into how society affects our appearance for example, society’s expectation of being a mother, carrying, giving birth, and raising a child would naturally affect ones appearance, more wrinkles, dark under eyes from fatigue etc.

2023年、今年も織りますよ。

昨年末に織っていたストールは、薄手でとっても柔らかく仕上がりました。ストライプとヘリンボーンが合わさったような模様です。

今は同じ糸で、ななこ織りをランダムに入れながら織っています。透かした時に、素朴なレースのようになると良いなぁと想像しながら。
