One of the things I wish was focused in on more in the books was the relationship between Goldenflower and Swiftpaw. It's never really touched on but Golden is his mom, and Tigerclaw indirectly murders Swiftpaw with the dogs. I don't really think we ever see Goldenflower's pov on this? I honestly wish we saw more of Goldenflower in /general/, with how much her kits were hated for merely being related to Tigerclaw.

Yeah, this could be said about basically ANYTHING in Goldenflower's life. To me, she's someone who just genuinely enjoys motherhood and caring for others! She's defensive of her kits, she stayed with Bluestar while she was ill, she was the first cat to run to Ravenpaw when he came into camp injuried, and she took care of Longtail after he was blinded and would describe surroundings to him.

Really, I could see her taking interest in the healer role/assistant after Tigerclaw's exile + Bramble and Tawny are weened! Maybe she had always been interested in it but didn't want to give up the opportunity to have her kits...

Here's some concepts of hers I would've personally loved to see detail on:

-Thorn, Bracken, Cinder, and Bright are all her nephews/nieces! Cinder and Bright are both permanently injuried because of Tigerstar.

-Snowkit was her younger brother, she was raising her own kits besides her mother Speckletail. Bramble, Tawny, and Snow were all being judged and questioned by others for things out of their control and it would've been amazing to see Speckletail and Goldenflower coming together to defend their kits.

-She grew up beside Bluestar. I like to think they were very close and it hurt her alot to see everything she was going through in her leadership. Goldenflower's mate had tried to kill her. Did Bluestar ever question her loyalty because of that? Did it hurt their relationship or strengthen it, since they were both betrayed? THIS IS YURI!

-She initially didn't plan on telling Bramble or Tawny who their father was. (Really odd writing choice imo to have Fireheart tell them anyways though LMAO?💀)

-Goldenflower nursed Stormfur and Feathertail and is said to love them like her own kits. She was upset to see then taken back to Riverclan- where Tigerstar eventually takes over and attempts to PUBLICLY EXECUTE them there. Storm and Feather had no mother and no kin in their clan, they must have missed Goldenflower alot :[

-If she had lived long enough to po3 she would have been a grandma! Though it wasn't intentional, I think it would be very sweet for Lionkit to remind her of Lionheart.

How do you go about formatting your comics? I’ve always wanted to make a comic but formatting it has always been a struggle..

Drink has been acquired! Grab yourself one too, it's "Vane might ramble too much" hours!

Keep in mind that my formatting is what works for me, so it might not work for everyone. I also use Clip Studio Paint (EX), so some bits might work for other programs, while some might not. I also can't for the life of me remember the difference between CSP Debut, Pro, or EX so I'm sorry if I mention features you might not have.

Alrighty! I'm not completely sure what you mean by format, so I'll just do a quick rundown of my process!

Script

I usually start with a script. It can be as loose or detailed as you want it to be, but mine usually are something like this:

Character A: "Says a word!" Description of scene or action

Character A: "Says more words!" Character B: "And more words are said"

I use gaps in the text to signify a panel break. So this would be two panels! Keep in mind your workload, and don't put in too many if you're not ready for it.

Sketch

After I finalize, or at least have a general understanding of my script, I get a canvas around the size that I think it'll be. I usually start out with about 1800x8000, but you can adjust it based on your needs.

I like to try and sketch out a rough idea of how I want the comic to flow. Using my script, I sketch out the panels and toss in where I think the text bubbles will go. Here's the latest Wanderer update as an example! (Yes I usually use the first draft sketches for the final product, don't worry about it lmao)

I do a sketch of the entire thing, which helps me resize as I need.

Panels

The panels were always the hardest part for me to figure out before I started working on Wanderer. Again, this is what works for me. It might not work for everyone, and this is also just how I set up this specific comic.

Let's get some boxes going. Go to the Frame Border option, and select rectangle frame.

It needs to be on create frame!

Click and drag one giant box over your sketch. I'm using an excerpt from the above sketch for example! You can click the frame layer itself, hold ctrl down and adjust the width of the box.

Delete this layer:

and move your sketch above the frame layer so you can see it!

Now we just split the panels up how you want them. Next to where you found the Create Frame option earlier, there should be a Cut Frame option. I personally use Divide Frame Folder, so everything is contained without bleeding through to other panels.

You can mess with these:

The "gutter" is just how much space is made between panels.

When making your panel splits, you can hold ctrl to snap to a 45° angle.

It might end up looking messy to the side, but each new frame folder will be like a new mini canvas for each panel. I find that color coding the layers helps me find which ones I need if I start getting too many.

Here's a look at what it might look like based on what I've done for just this example.

And if we go to the actual file for the upload...

It keeps everything nice and organized, imo!

Okay, I thiiink that about covers it. Text boxes/bubbles and the such are easier to find tutorials for, so I'm not gonna cover those unless people specifically want those. But I'm more than willing to divulge... most... of my secrets haha.

I think I might do this for all of Ki'to's polycule since I need to yell about these specific things related to them.

Who kissed who first?

With Aymeric, it was Ki'to who initiated the first kiss. Though, while more reserved due to his upbringing, Aymeric was all too happy to reciprocate. It was just after peace had been finally restored to Ishgard's relationship with the Dravanians, and both of them were very happy to finally see the fruits of their labor, and that happiness really lent itself to their first kiss. Honestly, it was probably the push Ki'to needed to confess as well. (The kiss happened not too long after the confession)

Similarly, Ki'to and G'raha's first kiss was right after the confession. Though this one was out of desperation, elation, and a need to be as close as possible. When Ki'to stormed into the Crystal Tower after returning from the First, it was all he could do not to stumble as he sought G'raha out. There was a pause and hitched breath as he waited to see if the blood-infused soul crystal would work, and as soon as there was a hint of recognition in his face, Ki'to could not stop himself from pulling Raha as close as humanly possible. The words fell out of his mouth before he could even process, and when Raha - stunned as he was - finally reciprocated his feelings, Ki'to pulled him in for a very long, very tearful kiss.

As for Estinien, since it wasn't until post-EW that they got together, I imagine Ki'to sent him an invitation to visit him out in the Cieldalaes. When he finally had time to stop by, they ended up making it a full-day date. When it came time for him to leave, Estinien actually initiated their first kiss, as he lifted the miqo'te up and gave him a little goodbye kiss. (I'll be posting this gpose shot soon, actually. :3c)

i was thinking of writing something about someone encountering celebrimbor's corpse/remains unknowingly and sort of hypothesizing about who it was and so on, because a) i love me some outsider POV and interpretations (courtesy of strife of thruth with art) and b) potential for dramatic irony and slow horror - but i have no idea who and when could concievably do that. sorry for rambling, the idea just rattles around my head and won't leave me alone while writing term papers.

Potential thoughts:

Is C’s soul bound to his dead body, and that’s how the creeping horror comes out? Someone finds him (ideas below, but it could be anyone, really). Maybe nightmares, maybe possession, maybe deep, deep sadness (esp if it happens after the destruction of the Ring - and absolutely could do some Ring stuff).

C’s body is in Barad-dur. (The always brilliant @aipilosse has pointed out S’s greed for mithril and the possibility that he made a mithril shroud for C’s corpse.

People excavating Barad-dur. Maybe archaeologists centuries later (could be done in diary or pseudo-academic paper format? Def an opportunity for an unusual format.)

People excavating Barad-dur, sent by Aragorn and Arwen (or one or both of them themselves), come across C’s corpse, perfectly preserved or just the bones or maybe perfectly preserved till the destruction of the Ring and now decaying.

S using Celebrimbanner in the Last Alliance, sallying forth with it.

C as poor Yorick and some Nazgul or OC diplomat or higher up in S’s empire being very uncomfortable with how their God-king keeps mansplaining to a skull. (Or a finger and lock of hair, very sweet really.)

Creepy horror, maybe taking inspiration from the Barrowdowns or the Dead Marshes, set in Eregion, or elsewhere in Eriador (maybe Ost-in-Edhil itself, with some explanation for how C’s body got there), where someone comes across it. (Aipi also suggested Elrohir and Elladan being the ones to find the bones, and rangers might work too, or both.) (Speaking of bones! Boner jokes!) (Speaking of rangers! Most of do not die of old age! Idk where I’m going with this, but it could be horror-adventure.) (Speaking of Eriador, something with the Witch-king and the wars with Angmar? Or the great plague?)

Saruman seems to have made himself a Ring, though not a Great Ring. Does he go out looking for primary documents and come across the real primary source?

The least classy idea, sad angsty necrophilia set during the War of the Elves and Sauron, maybe from the POV of one of S's soldiers? Or corpse-lecturing while feeling up said corpse, that too.

But yes, idk, Elrond’s kids sound appealing to me as the POV characters, as does archaeologists, who would be great for writing an unusual format, like strife of truth with art. Or heck, maybe even some dracula-ish found document format?
