Instead, Traveler Only challenge go brrrrrr in Chasm. Eh, whatevs, he stalled so hard for ages that he may as well make progress before I forget about him again for a while. I've been mildly dreading the Chasm storyline's two lector fight (Agnarr and Egill in the screenies) and yeah, first try failed hard. Anemo was a poor choice even though I was hoping it would eat their shields fast. Nurp, ended up swapping to hydro, taking out the fire guy while ignoring electro guy, then focusing said electro guy down… all while running a lot of circles between skill casts. A lot. Of circles.

Chasm defeated, lumenstone nameplate get. Perilous Trail requires AR40 and we're not touching that yet (I'm not sure I can risk ascending unless the main archon chain literally crashes into an AR requirement higher than 35) so it's on to Sumeru we go. Next fight to worry about? Scara. x.x

I have to say, I have a newfound respect for Anemo Traveler mains. One just dropped into my world, led me to several geoculouses, defeated six bosses for me, finished the dragonspine quest to unlock the peak, and proceeded to just dip. Mad respect, saved me a ton of time. It takes me a solid ten minutes to defeat the stupid cryo plant bc i have to stop every few reactions to get noelle to heal bennett and kaeya while aether just hogs a spot (sorry Amber is level 6 and i have no cryo characters for more melt reactions lol.) So yeah, thanks for sparing me the pain random stranger!

Venti purrs from behind you, stroking your hair. He didn’t outwardly seem too bothered that your body had completely frozen up under his touch, and that you clearly would rather shove a brick down your throat than talk to him…

But you know better. His efferverecence veils a fury that he is straining so hard to control…

He loves to remind you of this. “All for you, my darling!”

You could do with a flower in your hair, the archon decides. You’re absolutely stunning without, but maybe it would cheer you up? Yeah, that hopeless and terrified look he can guarantee is on your face right now kind of dampens the mood. To be honest, it’s really dampening his mood! Why oh can’t you be happy with him?

Venti plucks a wind-wheel aster from beside him, and chuckles as he pulls back some of your hair to expose your cheek to him. He leans into your ear as he puts the flower in your hair, finding the minuscule shudder of your body so very amusing Anything he does to you gets a reaction! Even if it’s little…you can’t hide from him forever!

“Ah…my sweet Angel…I hope you don’t mind…but I just cannot resist the image of you wearing a flower…”

He grins devilishly.

“One of my flowers.”

He gives you a kiss on the cheek.

In return, he receives a jab in his ribs.

He’s actually in a bit of shock…

You’re already standing up, having added so much unnecessary distance between him and you. What was that for, hmm?

He looks at you and huffs. Why do you look so pale? He’s just trying to show you he loves you…

“Now now…is that really anyway to treat me?”

He gets up, and brushes himself off, giving himself a teeny tiny pat on his ribs so that, maybe, you’d get a hint that you had hurt him, and that made him sad! Why did you make him sad?

“You seem to be forgetting just the teeniest thing about me. Hmm?“

That stare. Those wide eyes. They way you’re terrified to so as BREATHE…

“Ah! I’m just messing with you, don’t be so silly!”

He walks toward you, gently holding his hands out.

“There’s no reason to worry. Don’t be afraid…don’t be afraid of me…”

You are practically frozen when he makes his way to you. His smile is gentle as he adjusts the flower in your hair. He takes it out, with the intention to put it back in. It got a bit ruffled when you…uh, made your cute little escape, yeah!

“What worries you, my Windblume star?”

His eyes. They’re so beautiful…

The archon suffocates it with all of his might, in his fist, exercising that amazing “restraint” of his.

"My sweet," Venti said, his gaze locking with yours, "Your lips are as irresistible as the last popcorn kernel."

A rosy pink color started to appear on your cheeks as a giggle escapes your lips. "And you, Venti," you murmured, "Are as charming as the butter on the cob."

With a mischievous twinkle in his eye, Venti leaned in close. "Then let us seal this pact with a kiss. The loser will have to replenish the popcorn."

Your heart fluttered. "Challenge accepted."

Your lips met Venti's in a soft, heated kiss. As you pull away, his eyes held a glimmer of amusement.

"It seems I have won," he whispered with a smug grin. His fingers finding yours to pull you again for another kiss.

You blushed furiously. 'Well, I suppose I do deserve to make the popcorn hmph..."

if you thought he'd be happy about celebrating his birthday you were dead wrong. he looks at the too-sweet cake in your hands and scoffs. „your memory is lacking recently. I didn't ask for this.“

you know he dislikes sweet foods, that is part of the surprise – you smile. „well, maybe later you could-„

„don't bother“ he cuts you off, and you fear for your actual surprise.

„Wanderer cmon- let me show you something“ you tug at his sleeve. you place the dark brown chocolate-looking cake on a table near you, cutting a piece of it and offering him. „just try it~“ when he looks away you press on even more „well you can either give it a taste, or surely Nahida will later on make you eat the whole piece“ you laugh softly and he rolls his eyes, taking the plate in his hands and taking a bite.

you remember quite well his little story about tea and its bitter flavor. how he drank it and thought of it as nothing special, later on, he tried different flavors of the world and came back to the bitter flavor. claiming the others are just there to hide the 'bland base'.

he said bitterness was his favorite flavor, hence you got him a coffee cake. a specific order, you had to make sure they don't make it chocolatey or anything similar.

his eyes slightly soften, and there's the smallest smile… as if a gray cloud went away from looming above his head when he tasted the cake.

it makes you smile brightly at him, looking at the short boy like he is the biggest world wonder when he takes another small bite. he lowers his hat avoiding your gaze, „perhaps you pay attention to the things I talk about.“

all you can do is smile and hold back the desire to hug him… a second later you hug him, causing him to gasp as if his arms didn't immediately return the embrace. „happy birthday, Wanderer“

“Get the fuck away from her!” Jax screamed at him. Kaufmo's hundreds of eyes snapped to him; seeing the rabbit trying reach for his sword. The grueling pain he felt, trying to move his body, even an inch; the strain on his muscles as he ulled his entire body across the ground.

The harbinger strolled over to him. Bubble shot in front of up Kaufmo, gathering their strength to protect Jax, but only got popped with a flick of his finger.

“They call you the mighty traveler?” Kaufmo sheathed the sword of his back; holding it over the rabbit's hand, and then plummeting to an inch of his hand. The Harbinger hit hard on the sword's bottom, sending plummeting further. Jax cried out in pain; blood pooling out of his hand, painting the cobblestone streets in crimson.

"Jax!”

“What a joke,” Kaufmo chuckled, “You both deserve each other.”

Lumine in Teyvat, part 2.

4.8 is amazing, magical and memorable - I will say that much. I'm excited for 5.0 even though I still have so many quests to finish in the previous regions. But we don't need to talk about that, haha.

I love 4.8 so much. The story, the exploration, the puzzles, the rewards, the characters (man, I'm gonna miss everyone from the Forest of Blessings, the Constellation Metropole and the Broken Sea) and the music. I especially love Esnoir and Rozel's story. I even went back to the swing on the next day to see them again, but only to find a letter left there. Apparently Esnoir finally gave in. They're both on an adventure now and I hope they'll make tons of happy memories together. (Someone on Fandom Wiki said we can find them in Fontaine after the quest. I'll go check that out soon.)

There is still a whole month left to explore the area. I'm gonna take tons of pictures. I'm not good at composition, never studied photography but exploring Teyvat makes me wanna take pictures for memories even when I'm poor at it. I'm just grateful for the camera feature in the game. It really makes the journey less overwhelming at times.
