Took a trip to New Mexico to watch the ring of fire eclipse. So here's that as seen thru my phone camera, which actually captured it fairly well- u can even see some sun spots in the first 2 pics ✨️
#happy to go out of my way 2 appreciate the wonders of this universe.#on this episode that was driving 5 hours to watch the sun do something cool for 5 min#actually was well worth it i enjoyed the art and history of santa fe#would honestly have stayed there longer if i could#og#solar eclipse#annular solar eclipse#ring of fire eclipse#space#solar eclipse 2023

The best place to be for a hug eclipse is a scenic natural area with good views and few clouds. The worst place to be is the lunar surface

An annular solar eclipse will be visible across North America on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023. The October annular eclipse's infamous "ring of fire" will cross eight U.S. states from Oregon to Texas, according to NASA. If you're not fortunate enough to see it in person, the eclipse will be livestreamed for free so you can enjoy the wonder of the eclipse from the comfort of your own home. During an annular solar eclipse, the moon appears slightly smaller than the sun. As such, it doesn't block the entire solar disk like it would during a total solar eclipse. Instead, the moon's shadow covers most of the disk, leaving the outer rim, resulting in a beautiful "ring of fire."
