different kim anon BUT, i could go on and on about how genuinely cool of a character kim is and how everyone who hates her is just being whiney. The arguments against her are dumb as hell too and are probably all just rooted in misogyny😭

"it shouldve been X instead" 1. X is almost always a man 2. no other character would share the same compassion and care she has when it came to ghost emmalyn???

"shes annoying" 100% rooted in misogyny, because the same people will go on and like (male) characters that are rude or mean, but a jumpy girl with a high pitched voice is where you draw the line??

"she contributed nothing" "shes useless" Half the cast would be dead without her collaborating with emmalyn. shes directly and indirectly responsible for saving aaron, aphmau, zane, lucinda, etc.

"she came out of nowhere" Everyone has already established jess's writing has many flaws, but her being a new character isnt coming out of nowhere that's how adding people works?? it might have had a weird/lack of buildup but thats only a miniscule thing in the several flaws of the writing. also such a dumb reason to dislike a character like 😭 Free kim shes done nothing to yall!!!!!!

MyStreet characters I think would use tumblr and what their blog would mostly be about;

Aphmau; mainly fanfic written for whatever fandom she'd be in during any specific time

KC; fanfic and fanart posting about her favorite ships and fandoms, definitely has her own rewrites of in-world media

Katelyn; only has one because Aphmau and KC do, they made her make one. She uses it to just reblog her friend's stuff, photography stuff and maybe make a little wlw post once a month

Zane; just reblogging stuff he finds cool

Laurence; he uses it once in a blue moon, like he forgets for months that he even has it, he spam reblogd stuff and then disapears for a year.

Travis; somehow one of the biggest "meme satire posts" blog on the site, has made at least one post that made it into "tumblr heritage posts", made said post when he was in PDH and will constantly remind Aphmau about it, she was jealous back in highschool

Dante; secret blog, he's too embarassed to admit he jas one. reblogs gaming news, gif sets and 3d modeling stuff mostly

Emmalyn; shares short stories and poems she wrote, has gotten into very heated arguments with people over literature

Kim; Very immersed into witch side of tumblr, probably reblogs a lot of potion recipies she wants to try, along with just, regular recipes

There is definitely many more, these are the ones I could think of in depth for for now, feel free to add any if you can think of em, but I'll probably add more in due time!

Various little fun ideas I have for my Ghost should have been/is Janus Agenda

- The Lodge is built over where Janus' body was buried/would have been buried, if you subscribe to the whole 'Mystreet is an alternate universe of MCD and there's dimensional breaches/overlap' idea

- Ghost doesn't like Garroth very much, but Ghost would like Vylad, if they met him

- Anyone with pink hair is automatically suspicious to Ghost

- This makes them incredibly aggressive towards Nana specifically in season 5 (Pink hair and perceived flirting with Zane)

- There's a sword on one of the walls in the lodge that mysteriously goes missing after Kim gets possessed, Garroth then proceeds to walk in on 'Kim' practicing stabbing things with said sword.

- Ghost also uses previously mentioned sword to try and stab Ein (they almost succeed at this but Kim interferes cause she's not letting anyone Commit Actual Murder using her body)

- They don't know why but they feel incredibly weird about Aphmau, like, she breathes and they want to Commit Violence, but they also like her as a person so they're conflicted

- Ghost feels bad for Ein initally, but then they decide they don't like his vibe and try to stab him

- Ghost is still in love with Zane but significantly less sexual harassment because they believe that they're already together (also because I don't like that part of Ghost's character so :/)

- Kim ends up getting quite strong Post Posession because Ghost likes running around and climbing things and you can't do that if you have no stamina

- Kim also eventually learns a few things about fighting, both because of muscle memory and because Ghost 'feels bad that she's such a wimp'

- Ghost has occasional flashes of memory from their previous life (unlike Canon Ghost, who literally doesn't remember anything at all)

- Ghost also realizes that the Zane they have been fixated on isn't their Zane before they regain all of their memories

- Because let's be real, Mystreet Zane and Minecraft Diaries Zane are NOT the same people lmao

- Ghost is slightly less evil than Janus, but still very much morally atrocious and willing to kill and maim

- Kim ends up getting him to be a bit more chill tho

Here are some completely random pairs of characters, which do you think are the most interesting?

First note, These pairings are not specifically Romantic, I just put characters on a wheel and spun it. Just felt I should clarify that.

As a person who doesn’t really like Kim, I feel she would have been a better character and I would have loved her much more if she was introduced earlier on in MyStreet (NOT PDH). Thanks to Jess’s wonderful writing, she didn’t really get much time for her character arc to take place because she was introduced when the plot started to become more important, and in Emerald Secret she just kind of felt a bit out of place. Her getting possessed by Emmalyn would have felt a lot more shocking as a plot point if she had been given more time to have an established personality and relationships with the rest of the cast.

I don’t mean to be rude to a prev anon, but calling a bunch of people who dislike that Kim felt out of place in a plot of established characters misogynists feels weird. Don’t get me wrong, i’m not doubting for a second that there are people who dislike Kim because they’re dirty little misogynists, but grouping all of the people who disagree with you into one box feels wrong.

As a writer with multiple AUs, I have several where Kim and another character, usually a more background character like Vylad or Nicole who didn’t really get their chance to shine in MyStreet swap places, and as a person who loves to give poorly written characters more spotlight, I also have plenty more that give her more of a backstory. She mentions having an older brother, but do we ever learn of their relationship? I also have an AU where she is a Jury member in MCD, and another few where she is a citizen of Meteli.

Not everyone who writes Kim out is a misogynist. I promise you, Kim Anon, that not everyone who writes her out or gives her a more minor role has negative intent.
