Effective App Advertising Strategies to Boost Your App Downloads
Tumblr media
Effective app advertising strategies are essential for boosting downloads and increasing user engagement. Here are some key approaches to ensure your app stands out in a crowded marketplace:
Leverage Social Media Ads: Utilize platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to reach a broad audience. With advanced targeting options, you can direct ads to specific demographics, interests, and behaviors, ensuring your app is seen by potential users who are most likely to engage.
Optimize for App Store Search (ASO): App Store Optimization helps your app rank higher in search results, increasing its visibility to potential users. Focus on using relevant keywords in your app title, description, and metadata, along with high-quality screenshots and videos to showcase your app's features.
Implement Influencer Marketing: Partnering with influencers in your niche can provide authentic recommendations and drive downloads. Influencers can create content around your app, demonstrate its use, and encourage their followers to download it, generating buzz and credibility.
Utilize Paid Ads and Retargeting: Google Ads, Apple Search Ads, and other paid ad platforms can drive immediate visibility and downloads. Retargeting ads are also crucial for engaging users who have shown interest in your app but haven't downloaded it yet.
Create Engaging Video Content: Video ads capture attention quickly and effectively convey your app's value. Create short, engaging videos that highlight your app's key features and benefits, and distribute them across platforms like YouTube, social media, and within other apps.
By combining these strategies, you can maximize visibility, attract more users, and boost app downloads effectively.

Monetizing Accessibility
I wrote a review awhile ago for an app that I heavily relied on due to my dyslexia and TBI— Speechify. Its a text-to-speech reader that I can take photos of text books or signs and have them read to me. I used it plenty. You can take as many photos as you want, upload them, and have it read to you. Well..... thats what you used to be able to do. Then I updated the app and tah dah the main feature is behind a paywall!!! I can upload 3 files (photo/photoset) only! And if I want more I have to pay THIS fucking much:
Tumblr media
So I updated my app review from 5 stars to 1
Tumblr media
Then a long time later I got this email:
Tumblr media
"One time discount" on something that was fucking free. Its the most basic feature. There were plenty of additional features to pay for and ads prior. Now the ENTIER goddamn app, including the absolute most basic function, above 3 files is behind a $140 paywall. I don't want 90% of the features just keeping files like I could before. Its not even a one time fee; its a subscription. As if my TBI and dyslexia only lasts a year. Not to mention I already deleted my entire library.
I fucking hate how goddamn expensive being disabled it is. The email is an insult.

seeing the response that post has gotten (I know i keep mentioning it but I'm just so bewildered and touched at the heartfelt reception!!) I think y'all would appreciate two emotes I made for my discord.
Tumblr media
Lurkerlove, for when you appreciate a thing but have few words to give, and, most relevant to The Post:
Tumblr media
Exhlov. This is a feeling I've had a lot, lately. Despite it all, despite the exhaustion and the weariness, my heart still fills with warmth at the warming of another's. Thank you all for sharing your vulnerability with me, and sharing with me in mine.

going to get a little controversial here lol one sec
i'm seeing a lot of people high-horse posting about how tumblr isn't just an advertising platform but a real social media, where you have to interact with people in order to get clicks and ~socialize~ and ~be genuine~, and i just wanna say that that's all well and good but also nobody here is particularly interested in supporting their fave creators monetarily. a lot of folks don't reblog any self-promo at all. almost all of my commissions or kofi support have come from twitter, where the culture is different--fandom there has cultivated a system where folks just kinda pass along money in a big old circle of commissions and art requests and merch. i think it's actually really cool when fanartists and fanfic authors can be compensated! i genuinely wish tumblr would cultivate more positive vibes about that sort of thing. i'm broke as a joke 99% of the time but whenever i have a little extra cash (usually from the aforementioned comms, lmao) i like to pass it along to the patreons of my fave artists or buy sketch commissions. practice what i preach and all that

Monet, who has been improving his skills by drawing cartoons since he was a child, learned landscape painting by chance. Monet, who was studying painting, learned of Manet's existence and became interested in her skills. After being formally introduced to Manet, they became more aware of each other as they worked together.

god that staff statement on users being "anti monetization" is just. so frustrating lmao. like. people loved blaze. people loved tumblr merch. people loved the little badges. people initially were very much on board with giving tumblr money to keep itself running. what people hated was tumblr live, constant bad ui changes, and shitty video pop ups ruining the mobile app (i literally cant even listen to music anymore while using the mobile app because it cuts out every 30 sec. thats like. an unacceptable level of jank), and like. no im not going to pay for a premium version of tumblr to give the app basic functionality back. that shouldnt be something i have to pay for. the app should just work.
