The Ultimate Checklist for Office Relocation with Commercial Moving Services
Have you ever felt overwhelmed just thinking about relocating your office? We understand — moving a business isn’t like packing up a house. There’s more at stake: productivity, sensitive equipment, confidential files, and downtime that could affect your bottom line. For businesses in Victoria, BC, planning an office move can be daunting without the right help. That’s where commercial moving services like ours come in.
Tumblr media
Over the years, we’ve seen what can go wrong when a move isn’t properly planned. That’s why we’ve created this checklist — not just for packing boxes, but to guide you through every phase of your corporate move. If you’re searching for corporate moving companies or commercial moving companies in Victoria, this checklist is designed to help you prepare, organize, and relocate without the stress.
Start with the Big Picture: Define Your Goals and Timeline
Office moves aren’t something you want to rush. Take the time early on to set clear goals:
Are you moving to support growth?
Do you need better infrastructure or a more central location?
Are you trying to reduce overhead?
Once you’ve defined your why, the next step is creating a timeline that reflects your business needs. Don’t underestimate how long it takes to prepare — ideally, give yourself three to six months for planning, depending on the size of your company.
Assign an Internal Move Coordinator
Every successful move needs a point person. This individual doesn’t need to do everything themselves but should act as the liaison between your team and the commercial moving services you’ve hired. They’ll coordinate meetings, track tasks, and ensure key milestones are being met.
Their responsibilities might include:
Communicating with staff and stakeholders
Managing timelines and checklists
Coordinating with IT and vendors
Working with your chosen movers
Choose the Right Commercial Moving Company in Victoria
This might be the most important decision you make. Not all corporate relocation moving companies offer the same level of service. In Victoria, BC, you need a team that knows the local landscape, understands commercial moves, and respects your time.
When researching corporate moving companies, ask the right questions:
Do they specialize in office relocations?
Are they insured and licensed for commercial work?
Can they provide references from other local businesses?
Do they offer help with disassembly, packing, and reinstallation?
Help Me Move was built to meet those exact needs — reliable, responsive, and experienced in office moves across Victoria and southern Vancouver Island.
Evaluate the New Space and Plan the Layout
Before any boxes are packed, visit the new office and take detailed measurements. You want to make sure everything fits — not just physically, but in a way that improves workflow. Think about department locations, access to power outlets, storage, and communal areas.
Communicate Early and Often with Staff
A smooth office move isn’t just about logistics — it’s about people. Change can be unsettling, especially for long-time staff. Start communicating early:
Share the moving timeline
Offer visual updates of the new space
Clarify how work will be managed during the transition
Encourage team input about workstation setup and equipment needs. When people feel involved, they’re more likely to embrace the change.
Inventory: What’s Staying and What’s Going?
This is a good time to declutter. Every office collects unused equipment, broken chairs, outdated signage — and moving those just wastes time and money.
Do a full inventory:
Keep: Functional desks, current files, recently upgraded equipment
Toss or Donate: Damaged furniture, expired documents, outdated tech
Buy New: Items that won’t fit or function well in the new space
We often help clients in Victoria decide what’s worth moving and what should be replaced. It’s surprising how much smoother the relocation is with only the essentials.
Coordinate with IT Early
One of the most complex parts of any office move is relocating your technology. Start working with your IT provider early on to develop a relocation plan.
Here’s what we typically include:
Back up all data prior to moving
Identify all equipment to be moved (computers, servers, routers)
Set up internet and phone service at the new location in advance
Create a timeline for equipment shutdown and restart
When you’re working with experienced commercial moving companies in Victoria, we’ll also coordinate carefully to ensure equipment is moved securely and reconnected correctly.
Pack Smart: Label Everything Clearly
A common mistake during corporate moves? Poor labelling. It may seem like a small detail, but it makes a massive difference.
Our top tips:
Label every box with the department and item type (e.g., “Marketing – Monitors”)
Use colour coding for departments
Number boxes and keep a reference list
Keep essential items (keys, documents, laptops) with key staff
For furniture and tech, tag each piece with its destination. That way, our team can place it exactly where it needs to go without delays.
Update Your Address Everywhere
Once the move is scheduled, it’s time to update your business address on:
Your website and email signatures
Business cards and brochures
CRA and business registration records
Utility providers and banks
Google My Business and other local listings
We always remind our Victoria clients that this step often gets forgotten in the shuffle. Better to update early and double-check later.
Create a First-Day Essentials Plan
Nothing’s worse than arriving at your new space and realizing no one knows where the coffee machine is or how to print.
Prepare a "first day kit" for your team:
Wi-Fi passwords and login details
Emergency contacts and maintenance info
Office map with labelled areas
Essentials like kettle, mugs, paper, snacks, cleaning supplies
You want everyone to walk in, settle down, and get to work — not wander around wondering how to set up their computer.
Test Everything Before Going Live
Before reopening, give yourself time to test all systems:
Check all tech is working: phones, computers, printers, Wi-Fi
Confirm utilities are set up properly: electricity, water, HVAC
Walk through the space for any safety concerns or trip hazards
Our team always recommends a soft launch day. Let your staff explore, settle in, and work out any hiccups before officially reopening to clients or the public.
Celebrate the Move
After all the effort, don’t forget to recognize the achievement. Even if it’s just a small gathering, thank your staff and your moving team. It builds morale and marks a fresh start in the new space.
We often help coordinate final-day move-in support, making sure everyone feels excited and confident about the transition.
Wrapping Up
An office move doesn’t have to be chaotic. With careful planning and the right commercial moving services, your relocation can be smooth, efficient, and even energizing for your business.
We’re here to make sure that happens. At Help Me Move, we’ve handled dozens of corporate relocations across Victoria, BC, and we understand what it takes to get your team up and running without missing a beat.
Whether you’re expanding, downsizing, or upgrading, we’re ready to help every step of the way. With the right plan in place, your office move can be the beginning of something even better.
If you're planning an office move in Victoria and want to do it right, Help Me Move is ready to make it happen.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What should I look for when hiring commercial moving companies in Victoria? When hiring commercial moving companies in Victoria, ensure they have experience with corporate relocations, are insured and licensed, provide references, and offer services beyond just transportation — like packing, disassembly, and reinstallation.
2. How far in advance should I plan my office move? Ideally, begin planning your office move three to six months in advance. This allows enough time to coordinate with corporate moving companies, communicate with your team, and minimize downtime for your business operations.
3. What’s the difference between residential and commercial moving services? Commercial moving services specialize in relocating businesses, which involves handling sensitive equipment, coordinating with IT teams, and minimizing disruptions. Residential movers focus on homes and may not have the same expertise in business continuity planning.
4. How do I reduce downtime during an office relocation? To reduce downtime, work closely with corporate relocation moving companies that offer after-hours or weekend moves, develop a detailed relocation timeline, and ensure your IT systems are backed up and reconnected promptly.
5. Do corporate moving companies help with setting up the new office space? Yes, many corporate moving companies, including ours at Help Me Move, assist with reassembling furniture, placing equipment as per your floor plan, and ensuring everything is ready for your team to resume work without delays.

Eight years ago, when Brian McNamara decided he wanted to become a critical care paramedic, the training he in Prince George. Vancouver was the only place in BC where Emergency Health Services offered the program he needed to advance his training to the highest level. He made the to leave his pregnant wife and spent the better part of the next two years away from his family to earn his credentials.
Since then, the COVID pandemic spurred the provincial government to invest more money in northern B.C.’s pre-hospital care system, and with that came the resources to develop a made-in-Prince George critical care paramedic training program. In December, it produced its first three graduates.
Planning for the CCP program started in late 2019 in response to a predicted surge of COVID-19 added staff and based a dedicated medical helicopter and additional fixed-wing aircraft at Prince George's Airport. The first intake of candidates - advanced care paramedics (ACPs) Spencer Ovenden, Eric Konkin, and Joseph Balfour trained two years ago, working closely with medical staff at the University Hospital of Northern B.C.
The program involves 18 months of training, starting with a post-graduate working in a hospital alongside doctors and nurses trained in intensive care interventions, trauma surgery, respirology, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, and infectious diseases. Once licensed to the CCP level, the paramedics are eligible for a six-to-nine-month residency overseen by a group of UHNBC doctors headed by Floyd Besser, who also holds a CCP certification. A critical care paramedic responding to a call can bring the life-saving interventions of a hospital intensive care unit to the patient's ability to travel in a helicopter or fixed-wing plane to rural and drastically reduce response times.
In consultation with hospital physicians, a CPP determines a treatment plan for each patient to stabilize their condition and prepare them for transport. They have the authority to administer almost every drug a physician would and can perform procedures to restore heart rhythms or to clear an obstructed airway. If needed, a CCP can insert a breathing tube to intubate a patient to immobilize them and keep them safe and stable for the time it takes to get to a hospital.
Konkin, a 48-year-old Grand Forks native, worked as an ACP for 11 years in Kelowna. Throughout his 25-year paramedic career, he always wanted to become a CCP, but it wasn’t feasible until how CCP training to save lives in central and northern B.C.
Having those flights available to bring definitive critical care keeps ambulance crews and medical staff in outlying communities from having their facility to accompany a patient in a ground ambulance. Considering how vast the northern half of the province is, one road trip there and back can take an entire shift for a small-town medic.
Ovenden, 33, was working ACP shifts in the Lower Mainland when the opportunity to train in Prince George's was offered to him late in 2020. He considered medical school when he was committing to at least eight years of university before he could start helping the sick and Prince George his permanent home, like Konkin, and nearly doubled CPP ranks.
The new recruits allowed the Prince George's station to expand its CCP shifts around than just day shifts. CCPs fly in tandem with another critical-care paramedic to retrieve a patient. BCEHS has two fixed-wing planes and one helicopter based on one nighttime crew assigned to the is crewed for one daily 12-hour daytime shift.
Their hospital training in operating rooms and intensive care teaches CCPs how to maintain that level of care once the patient leaves the hospital so they can be transported to a receiving hospital. Ovenden says the balance between classroom instruction and clinical training in the two-year program prepared him for just about every situation he’ll encounter, and he will save more lives as a result.
The vast terrain he covers in northern B.C. means long flights with one patient, sometimes as long as four hours if the call is in Fort Nelson, in sharp contrast to the 15-minute interfacility flights common in the Lower Mainland. Ovenden knows CCPs who trained at Vancouver General Hospital, and they had to get in line with other medical students waiting to practice procedures. At UHNBC, a teaching hospital with fewer students, the wait.
Balfour, 42, moved to Prince George in 2019 after his wife got pregnant with their second child, and they knew they were about to outgrow their one-bedroom Vancouver apartment. The chance to become a homeowner and work brought him to Prince George's, and he jumped to learn critical care.

The Route of Ice and Salt. By Jose Luis Zarate. Translated by David Bowles. Vancouver, BC: Innsmouth Free Press, 2021.
Rating: 2/5 stars
Genre: novella, horror
Part of a Series? No.
Summary: It’s an ordinary assignment, nothing more. The cargo? Fifty boxes filled with Transylvanian soil. The route? From Varna to Whitby. The Demeter has made many trips like this. The captain has handled dozens of crews. He dreams familiar dreams: to taste the salt on the skin of his men, to run his hands across their chests. He longs for the warmth of a lover he cannot have, fantasizes about flesh and frenzied embraces. All this he’s done before, it’s routine, a constant, like the tides. Yet there’s something different, something wrong. There are odd nightmares, unsettling omens and fear. For there is something in the air, something in the night, someone stalking the ship.
***Full review under the cut.***
Content Warnings: sexual content, dubious consent, allusions to pedophilia/child prostitution, body horror, blood, self-harm, suicide, homophobia
Overview: This novella crossed my recommendations on Tumblr and the subject matter seemed up my alley. A retelling of Dracula’s journey across the ocean from the point of view of the ship’s captain? Some nautical homoeroticism? Sign me up! Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this nearly as much as I hoped I would. I struggled with the first section, which felt like 22 chapters of the author trying to be philosophical or poetic while forgetting to write an actual narrative. Section 2 was better, as it had some more concrete plot details, and I was able to finish off the novella after that. So, what’s preventing me from giving this book more than 2 stars is the first section, which took up space that I felt could have been used to enhance sections 2 and 3. While the wandering, lyrical prose might enchant some, it definitely left me feeling lost.
Writing: I can’t comment on whether the lyrical prose is something inherent in the original Spanish and whether the translator is faithful to that. What I can say, however, is that I personally found the first part of this book to be difficult - not because I dislike poetry or sensuous prose, but because it felt like the author was trying too hard to be artistic, to the point where he forgot to actually tell a story. The unnamed captain - our POV character - seems to be constantly horny and his thoughts wander from place to place so much that it’s difficult to follow any given thread. The sentences themselves were also laden with figurative language, and sometimes, the choice of words made for confusing analogies and metaphors. I even had trouble trying to see the connections between thoughts and how they built upon one another. Perhaps this is the purpose; maybe we’re supposed to see the captain as this kind of detached, self-absorbed person. But personally, I found the prose to be too self-indulgent for my tastes.
Something else that bothered me was the use of archaisms throughout the book. There were many instances of “mayhap” and “naught” (to the point where they felt repetitive) and some characters use words like “thee” where others don’t. While archaic language can be used well, I ultimately felt like it was too inconsistent in this book.
Also, because this book is focused more on sensuality than plot, the pace felt a bit off, especially in part 1. I didn’t really feel a sense of dread (that one might expect in a horror), nor did the author seem to build suspense until part 2. Instead, it felt like a weird thing would happen, and instead of exploring how that thing affected the characters, the prose would veer off into more sensual and abstract language. I think I would have liked to see Zarate lean more into the horror and the suspense rather than breaking it up with the captain’s thoughts, and even if he wanted to build up the sensuality, I think he could have done a better job mixing it into the everyday occurrences on the ship.
There were some nice (and by that I mean evocative) images, however. Anything involving the rats elicited a visceral reaction from me, and there were some descriptions that felt like they were trying to make a point. I also really liked the way bodies were described and panic started to rise once crewmembers started disappearing, but I feel like it’s important to point out that most of those moments happened in parts 2 and 3 (with the exception of the rats). Thus, if you can get through part 1, you might find parts 2 and 3 to be a bit easier to understand, and the figurative language more appropriate.
Plot: The plot of this novella seems to be the captain coming to terms with his internalized homophobia while his crew is tormented by Dracula. Personally, I liked the idea of contrasting “good” desire (homoeroticism and homosexual attraction) with “bad” desire (destructiveness, possessiveness). But the fact that this was a queer novella didn’t automatically make this book click for me. I still have trouble trying to explain the events of the plot because the focus is so fixed on the captain’s thoughts.
Not trying to be mean, but the afterword of this book helped me understand the story’s themes and events more than my own academic training. The afterward is written by author Poppy Z. Brite and it clearly communicates the relationship between vampirism and queerness and eroticism while also illuminating the significance of certain images in the novella. If you’re not a stickler about spoilers, I would honestly recommend reading the afterword first, then reading the novella, so that you have something of a guide to help you through the main text.
Characters: The only character in this novella that felt developed was the captain, and ultimately, I didn’t enjoy being in his head. While I sympathize with his struggle to come to terms with his sexuality, I didn’t think it was realistic or helpful for the captain to have a boner for every man he sees. Maybe there’s some truth to that if your sexuality is repressed - I can’t speak to that, so if I’m wrong, I’d love to learn. But for me, I found the omnipresent horniness to be a bit much.
The only place where I felt more sympathetic towards him was near the end, when the captain realizes that he is not at fault for what happened to his lover. There was some beauty to that scene, though it was disturbing, and I think it definitely shows some character development, but because I didn’t quite connect with the captain or his goals at the beginning, I felt like I couldn’t get invested in his eventual end.
TL;DR: The Route of Ice and Salt is a welcome original novella by a Mexican author, exploring queer themes within the story of Dracula. However, the density of the prose in the first 22 chapters might put a lot of readers off, and the slow pace may prevent readers from fully connecting with the story.

Blog Post #5B Refined Rationales
1. Project title
Tod Creek Craft Cider: The Barkley Series
Tumblr media
2. The Challenge
I redesigned an existing bottle of cider from Tod Creek Craft Cider in a package design class. $1 of each bottle sold is donated to an effort to clean the Barkley reef just off the coast of Vancouver Island. The original design was lacking interesting visuals that would compel a potential consumer to pick it up and examine the bottle. The cider was being sold in a liquor store so it needed to be visually appealing given the fact that most products sold in a liquor store have a very illustrative or interesting design.
Tod Creek Craft Cider’s brand positioning is: “Premium cider with a west coast bite. Tod Creek Craft Cider is a small batch cider made of BC apples, crafted right here on Vancouver Island.” The goal was to create new labels with an elevated design and to expand the cider into a series.
3. The Approach
I wanted to lean into the idea of the cider being made locally on Vancouver Island. To make the one cider into a series, I updated the design of the existing flavour, apple and blackberry, and I chose fruit pairings native to the island to create two more flavours: apricot and cherry and fig and pear.
Instead of drawing the reef itself, I focussed on an octopus holding the fruit that’s in the cider. In the thumbs, I was playing around with ocean themes and ways to combine them with the fruit pairings. Initially, I found that there was a disconnect happening because I, essentially, have two competing illustrative elements: the ocean and the fruit. I solved the problem by making the two elements interact with one another. The octopus will unify the series, and create diversification by posing in a different position for each flavour, holding different fruits.
4. What I did
I drew the octopi in Procreate and made their tentacles long enough so that they wrap around the bottle to encourage consumers to pick it up and turn it to read the description on the back that describes the reef clean up and fundraising process.
I kept the barcode from the original design because the shape of it is a great element on the back of the label, and I assigned a specific colour to each flavour while maintaining a cohesive colour palette throughout the series.
The final design was able to capture the playfulness that I wanted it to have, along with interesting illustrations that helped to communicate the tone that this cider needed to convey.

The Fermented Moose
Tumblr media
2. The Challenge
I designed a brand identity for a UBrew that opened in 2020 in my hometown, Whitecourt, Alberta. The client needed a logo along with its variations, a business card, a punch card, and a social distancing marker. She wanted to base the logo off of a painting she had made that shows a moose walking away into the mountains with the northern lights above. The tone she wanted to create was a fun and educational experience and she wanted the brand to feel contemporary. Going through the process of learning to brew beer, wine or cider should be enjoyable. The client wanted to incorporate turquoise into the design and wanted the logo to be illustrated but not too cartoonish.
3. The Approach
With this design, I was able to illustrate a few moose and a fun graphic for the back of the business card. The client asked for turquoise to be present in the logo and I paired it with a bright yellow to add the feeling she wanted of joy and excitement. I adapted her painting into a logo by simplifying the image. I chose to focus on the mountains and the moose only.
4. What I did
I illustrated the moose and the mountains in Procreate. I chose to separate the two elements with a tilted square framing the landscape and the moose walking towards it to create movement and depth in the logo. I used a sans serif and the brand colours, yellow and turquoise, to make the identity feel modern. I designed two business cards. One had a graphic one the back of a beer and wine glass clinking and the other had six tiny moose heads that acted like a punch card.

1. Project title
Portal magazine
Tumblr media
2. The Challenge
I am currently the graphic designer for Portal, the literary magazine for Vancouver Island University. I designed the 2019 and 2020 issues and the 2021 issue, Portal’s 30th anniversary issue.
I work with the Portal team, the Creative Writing and Journalism third and fourth-year students. All VIU students are encouraged to submit their fiction, non-fiction, poetry, scripts, photography, paintings or illustrations. The student magazine department then decide which pieces will make it into the issue, and I design the magazines’ layout, posters for their fundraising events, ads for ad swaps with other literary magazines, programs and tickets.
3. The Approach
Since Portal works with graphic design students, the turnover is very high in that position as students graduate. Throughout the last three years at Portal, I've been working on ways to make their brand identity more cohesive. I've designed two logos for their yearly Portent competition and a reading series, Portfolio, that incorporate elements from their umbrella brand, Portal. I've also focused on keeping each new issue consistent with the last, using similar colours, typefaces and photo treatments. I've done the same with promotional material so that Portal can cement their identity in the readers' minds.
4. What I did
Using InDesign to design the cover and interior of Portal, I worked on ways to display the art in different ways. To make each layout interesting, I used feather gradients, colour overlays, images placed in object shapes with a mixture of full bleed, half bleed and no bleed compositions. This would also help to establish the tone of each piece.
I also used colour to differentiate the genres. For example, non fiction is orange. This means that each non fiction peace has orange drop caps, text breaks, pull quotes, title, and page markers.

Whats some of ur fav dino, dino/hibari hcs?
finally i could reply to this ask!! which, anon, i still thank you for bc its the best thing i could ever be asked to talk about ww
reading will likely take some time, but i hope you and whoever else reads this post will share some hcs or at least find them nice ad interesting enough! and of course, i’ll be happy to answer more asks about it!! like the hibari-only post, i may come back to this one and update it over time
general warning for death mentions and spoilers from the novel “haneuma stampede”!!
hopefully this post wont be hidden from the tag search
dino headcanons
until i read about haneuma stampede, i pretty much always headcanoned dino’s hometown being naples, and this because i have neapolitan origins myself www in the light novel we get to know that dino’s hometown is a port city facing the adriatic sea (east) hence the opposite coast to naples, since this town faces the tyrrhenian sea (west). because of this piece of information, tho, i started thinking dino could be from bari, apulia’s capital city
being that a self projection, im still attached to that hc, so to keep at least a part of it i gave dino neapolitan grandparents LOL i mean, it’s not unlikely anyway
this is a recent hc but dino has a huge crush on is a big fan of immanuel casto, a gay italian singer whose most songs are explicit or suggestive and provocative
i think we all can agree that romario is like a second father to dino, right? their bond gets even stronger after cavallone nono’s death ;; romario will occasionally drop his habit to call dino “boss” and call him with his first name instead. dino will remind romario quite often how important he is to him beyond his role as his right-hand man
What Do You Mean Dino’s Tattoos Magically Appeared On His Body When He Was Deemed The Worthy Successor,,, i (falls on my knees) hc’ed that getting them done took A LOT and hurt A LOT and he yelled A LOT to the tattoo artist to stop inking and to his family that he didnt want to belong to that world,,,, im sorry dino
his tattoo and his duty as a boss in general dont give him much freedom (or should i say they dont give him freedom at all) so among the other hcs of situations where he has to cover his left arm, i have this one where dino cant but go to the beach when its empty and/or at night so that no one can see him but his men
the years may pass but he will still blame himself for his father’s death. and i mean. its pretty much true that it was his fault orz thanks light novel for giving me depress
onto the personality-wise hcs,, i talked about hibari’s enneagram type so i cant not do that for dino too. dino is 2w1, which gets called the servant. starting with the basic type: depending on the level of health, the two (”the helper”) ranges from being the most genuinely caring and helpful type to other people to being the type who gives expecting to be given something back to being the type who manipulates people into caring about them. i dont believe dino has fallen or will ever fall into the very unhealthy pit but he does get on the level where he thinks his generosity is the only thing that tie people to him and his people-pleasing attitude starts getting suffocating. he can be quite possessive, too. in a few words, type one is a very principled type, who fears being defective, bad and corrupt. therefore i assigned dino the one wing to kinda enhance the following paradox: being what he hates the most, aka part of a rotten system such as the mafia one. and with a role as a boss, to it. dino as a teenager never wanted to succeed to his father, and even now he wishes he didnt belong to that world but he loves his family, and even tho according to the moral he deserves to go to jail together with his men, he is self-admittedly too much of a coward to do that (theres so much more to add to this but if i do it will get REALLY long. there’s going to be another little enneagram talk in the d18 hcs anyway, lol)
_____________________________________________________________
dinohiba headcanons
these bitches gay good for them, good for them
advanced apologizes for being an angst fucker but for years my #1 headcanon has been a quite twisted one about dino and hibari not allowing themselves die by the hand of someone who isn’t each other’s. its a sort of oath. they feel like if one of them dies it will be unforgivable, and this will lead them to ultimately kill each other. in their mind, “it’s either both or none of them”, both know that they won’t be able to bear with the other being gone forever (yes, hibari too) and the only solution they find is leaving the world together, the same way they fought on it and against it together. the scenario i thought for this is a duel inside the reverse globe of needles. their last fight in hibari’s ultimate technique so that it’s literally just a world made of the two of them lol lol lol
tbh dino didnt like hibari at first, and with hibari being hibari it takes them long to warm up to each other. for long i mean some years w (years of anger, fights, hardship, trauma reveal, and so on)
their first bonding moment happens when hibari finds out about fon (yeah, all the stuff i talked about in my hibari hc post to which i have to add: i made my own timeline where the arcobaleno arc happens about 2 years later than shown in canon). dino is there to comfort him. dino hugs hibari and he lets him do. hibari cries. HIBARI CRIES for the third (3rd) time in his life there
i have this kinda specific hc of dino overhearing hibari sing hitoribocchi no sadame and getting sad about its lyrics
for obvious reasons even when they start dating they’re forced to spend most of the time away from each other but they make sure to be together at least on every anniversary
i love the established relationship trope so much therefore 80% of the times i think and write about them hibari is in his 30s and these two have been married for like 7 years
i’ll get to the marriage proposal and ceremony another time hopefully in a fic too but of course romario and fon are chosen for their best men
idk if people consider ship playlists and such as hcs, but i associate savages by kerli and someone to stay by vancouver sleep clinic to them ;;
about someone to stay: the line will you fix me up? will you show me hope? is hibari -> dino, and the line can you keep me close? can you love me most? is dino -> hibari
and finally, to go back to the topic of enneagram: their compatibility according to their types. on the institute’s official site theres already a good description, which makes me cry everytime i go back to it because it literally starts with “These two types are more alike than they might appear to be at first”. part of this is given by the fact that unhealthy twos get the unhealthy traits of eights and healthy eights get the healthy traits of twos. i made a scheme for it:
Tumblr media
i admit that i have no proof that the comparison is legit for the wings too, but finding out the stress/growth correlation even for them was very validating and satisfying, lol
some headcanons are missing from this post bc i decided to post the most important and my fave ones (the fave ones are those asked for in the first place but i cant shut up ashdjsdhfdjsdhfg)
but either way OVERALL i really, really love imagining both dino and hibari overcoming their hardships, individually and together, becoming the better versions of themselves the more the years pass, bringing their best qualities to each other and learning to accept and appreciate their different points of view.
because of the way they are at first they... dont really start good, but with health and trust they make a powercouple tbh

Dorian: At some point before the two arrived in Sanctuary, they met up, surviving together for a while, or more so Dorian saving his ass time and time again.
[Biography]
Gabe was born to a lovely Canadian couple of Irish and Germanic descent in the fall, his mother was a well-known psychiatrist and his father, a chemist, both working for a pharmaceutical company developing different kinds of antidepressants. While he didn’t have a bad childhood by any means, it was far from normal. His mother was constantly psychoanalyzing and testing different kinds of mental experiments and games on him, this being so traumatic and lasting so long through his childhood caused him to develop paranoid schizophrenia in his early teens. This leading to him spending a total of nine months of his life in a psychiatric hospital, these visits being staggered over 5 years when his psychotic episodes became unmanageable for his parents or he became so self-destructive that they feared for his safety.  Throughout school Gabriel tended to keep to himself and not keep many friends, he was also a C student in almost every class throughout junior high, except for when he joined the computer sciences and robotics club as an extracurricular to ensure he would graduate. There he discovered an aptitude for coding and working with computers and decided to make a career out of it. Due to a lack of effort in high school, his grades didn’t end up being high enough for him to get into the University of British Columbia but, the dean, seeing his potential decided to let him challenge the entrance exam for their Computer Sciences program which he ended up passing with a 97%. Once he was accepted he ended up living in the campus dorms, some of his best friends being girls and helping him to discover that he didn’t really feel as though he fell anywhere on the gender binary, soon opting to pick up the agender title. When he was in his third year of university his parents moved to Seattle on account of his father finding a much better paying job.
Once he graduated he followed his parents, gaining dual citizenship for both the US and Canada. Once in Seattle he discovered a rich nightlife in the LGBTQ+ community where he really got into drag for the first time in his life, for him it was fun and exciting and a very dark secret that he would keep hidden at all costs. It allowed him to freely express his feelings of femininity without fear of being judged, choosing to go by the alias of Charlotte Courtesan Goth (CC Goth for short), a very fierce queen with a very Lady Gaga- esque style and an eye for the dark and deranged. He also ended up developing a reputation for being one of the youngest and best cryptographers on the west coast, freelancing out of his apartment and working to make sure that company systems would be protected from hackers. One thing that gave him an edge in this field was his knack for hacking, it was something he did in his spare time and he never used it to steal anything other than information, although, this was something that he never saved and just remembered through sets of keywords and the occasional sentence or two that he would save on an encrypted hard drive that he carries everywhere with him. For a few years after moving, he stayed in his father’s home, his parents having divorced a year and a half after the move. Because of Gabe’s condition, when he moved out of the care of his parents and into his own place, he was assigned a social worker to ensure that he was taking care of himself properly. Over the time that he got to know said social worker the two grew close and ended up having an affair that she would eventually break off to go be with her husband shortly before the outbreak began.
After the outbreak, Gabriel survived by bouncing around from group to group, if he had to he would sell his body, sometimes his medications. Somewhere down the line he and Dorian linked up and this was how Gabe learned how to shoot. This pistol that Dorian had given him is something he still keeps on him. Eventually, the groups of survivors grew smaller and more ruthless. Leaving Gabe more alone than ever, wandering through the middle of nowhere with no access to his medication or even somewhere to hide from the elements. One of the scouts from Sanctuary had ended up finding Gabriel, half-frozen to death and in the middle of a psychotic episode. He had been holed up in a tent, equipped with his handgun, a backpack of his belongings and some food, blankets and sleeping bags. He had known that he was going to go into withdrawal so he used this tent as his own personal sanctuary to help ride out the seizures and all of the other horrid symptoms that came along with withdrawing from his medications.

With the election just two days away, Vancouver’s COPE party has rolled out its “Housing Emergency Action Plan” – adding detail to the party’s consistent pledges to attack rising unaffordability with aggressive government intervention.
The plan, according to former NPA city councillor Gordon Price, may help shift public perceptions, causing housing policies once deemed too extreme to be taken seriously.
A summary written by COPE candidates for council Anne Roberts and Derrick O’Keefe pledges an array of efforts, including banning renovictions, building 5,000 non-market homes a year for six years, constructing thousands of modular housing units for homeless citizens, and pressing the provincial government for a rent freeze and a so-called “mansion tax” on homes worth over $5 million.
Here are highlights from the piece circulated to media by Roberts and O’Keefe: “COPE will…
“introduce a motion establishing a cross-party Renter Protection Committee to advocate for the provincial government to set the maximum allowable rent increase at 0 per cent for the next four years across B.C. and for the province to stop landlords from increasing rents between tenancies…
“ban renovictions immediately...
“extend tenant protections across the city to renter living in single family zones….
“seek a unanimous vote to build modular housing for everyone without a home, starting with 2,100 homes completed within one year...
“introduce a motion to ask the province to give the city the power to implement progressive property tax on the value of mansions over $5 and $10 million -- the Mansion Tax….
“reexamine the assets and the mandate and the city’s Property Endowment Fund and the newly created Affordable Housing Fund, to benefit low-income people and renters who need housing now. We’ll also immediately instruct city staff to find the funds to fill the former mayor’s promise that the social housing at 58 W. Hastings be rented at 100 per cent welfare/pension rates….
“direct staff to enforce Section 23.8 of the Standards of Maintenance bylaw in SROs that allows the city to do necessary work and bill the owner, while also working to renovate or replace all 3,500 SRO rooms with self-contained homes through VAHA, including by using compulsory public purchase.”
COPE’s housing plan demonstrates little faith that market forces can restore affordability to Vancouver, vowing to…
“move immediately to begin construction of non-market housing….30,000 new non-market homes over the next six years...
“re-assign staff from the city’s real estate section to create a Co-op Housing Action Team to develop in-house expertise to building and maintaining publicly owned co-ops. Their job will be to renew new existing co-op leases within the first year, ensuring co-ops are affordable for low-income people, and to obtain federal and provincial revenues by working with CMHC and BC Housing and other agencies. They’ll also work with Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations to use Mansion Tax revenue to support First Nations housing land trusts.”
Finally, COPE would “direct staff to bring to council a report that outlines how the city can use new “rental-only zoning” powers to protect existing tenants, avoid gentrification, provide housing that’s affordable for low-income people, and extract wealth from any upzonings.”

Surviving Office Relocation
Surviving an office relocation can be a challenging and stressful process, but with proper planning and preparation, office relocation services in Vancouver BC you can make the transition smoother and more manageable. Here are some tips to help you survive an office relocation:
Start early: Begin the planning process as early as possible. Create a detailed timeline and checklist of tasks that need to be completed before, during, and after the move. This will help ensure that everything is organized and nothing is overlooked.
Communicate with employees: Keep your employees informed about the relocation plans from the beginning. Clearly communicate the reasons for the move, the timeline, and any changes that may affect them. Encourage open communication and address any concerns or questions they may have.
Assign a relocation team: Designate a team or point person to oversee the entire relocation process. This team should be responsible for coordinating with movers, IT professionals, vendors, and other parties involved in the move.
Inventory and declutter: Take inventory of all office equipment, furniture, and supplies. Determine what items will be moved to the new location and what can be sold, donated, or discarded. Decluttering will not only reduce moving costs but also help create a fresh start in the new office space.
Develop a floor plan: Before the move, create a detailed floor plan of the new office space. Determine the layout, seating arrangements, and placement of equipment and furniture. This will help minimize confusion and ensure a smooth transition when setting up the new office.
Update your address and contact information: Notify clients, vendors, and service providers about your upcoming relocation. Update your address and contact information on your website, social media platforms, business cards, and other marketing materials. Consider setting up call forwarding and mail forwarding services to minimize disruptions.
Plan IT infrastructure: Coordinate with your IT department or external IT professionals to ensure a seamless transition of technology systems. Plan for the disconnection, transportation, and reinstallation of servers, computers, phones, and other equipment. Test the new IT infrastructure before the move to identify and address any issues beforehand.
Pack and label systematically: Use a labeling system to identify boxes, furniture, and equipment during the packing process. Clearly mark fragile items and indicate the department or employee to whom each box or item belongs. This will help streamline the unpacking process and ensure that everything reaches the right place.
Arrange for professional movers: Hire professional movers who specialize in office relocations. They will have the expertise and equipment necessary to handle the packing, loading, transportation, and unloading of office items. Obtain quotes from multiple moving companies and choose the one that offers the best value for your budget.
Set up essential services in advance: Ensure that essential services such as internet, phone lines, utilities, and security systems are set up and operational before employees arrive at the new office. Coordinate with service providers to schedule installations and activate services promptly.
Plan for employee orientation: Once you've relocated, conduct an orientation session for employees to familiarize them with the new office layout, amenities, and protocols. Provide them with updated employee handbooks and resources to help them adjust to the new environment.
Celebrate the move: Relocating to a new office is a significant milestone. Organize a team-building event or a small celebration to acknowledge the hard work and mark the beginning of a new chapter for your company.
Remember, office relocations can be disruptive, but with careful planning and effective communication, you can navigate the process successfully and minimize the impact on your business operations.

when she graduated, william gave her a siberian husky puppy, which she affectionately named macready for the movie the thing. macready has been with her ever since--through a long career in er nursing, her father’s cancer diagnosis and eventual death. before leaving on her travel assignment, billie broke her engagement off with a man that she never felt truly understood her, but felt beholden to following his help caring for her father in his final days. the catalyst had been when a patient she’d met only long enough to discharge for a colleague had began stalking her and her fiance had not given her the support she needed.
