Request for Anon (Shapeshifter!Sunwoo) 3k, supernatural, shapeshifter, secret agents, cross-dressing, violence, manipulation (@starillusion13)
“Good job on that mission.”
You couldn’t help but smile, grateful and nervous over receiving praise from Hyunjae. He was one of the top agents, and your crush.
“Thank you…”
“What about me!?” Sunwoo wrapped an arm around your shoulder. “I’m her partner, did I do a good job too?”
“You came back alive. I’d say that’s good.”
“Nice.”
Hyunjae headed off and you tried to keep cool. Although once he was gone you quickly pulled away from Sunwoo and punched his arm.
“What the hell was that!?”
“What? I wanted a compliment too.” Sunwoo huffed. “It’s not my fault you get all nervous around Hyunjae.”
“Shut up!”
“I didn’t say anything wrong. Come on, we have to give our debrief.”
“I know.”
You and Sunwoo made your way to the control room, being greeted by the director of the agency, Sangyeon. You gave your debrief on the mission, and he congratulated you both on a job well done. Then he informed you that the intel you had gathered led right into your next assignment.
“As you know, an encrypted drive with confidential information on this agency was sold on the black market. We tracked the leak, but the drive itself was still missing, until now.” Sangyeon placed some files on the table. “Jefferson Leeds is a high profile businessman, and the current holder of the encrypted drive. Not only that, one of our own was exposed and has been taken hostage by him. Since nothing has been exposed as of yet, it’s safe to assume he hasn’t broken the encryption on the drive. That won’t last so we need to make our move.”
“You want us to go after Leeds and get the drive back?”
“And rescue our fellow agent. Now that we have our target, we can make a move. Although, Mr. Leeds is a powerful man, so this operation must be executed with caution. I’ll leave you with the details, and I want you both ready to move within six hours.”
“Yes, sir.”
You were given the files with the mission data, and the two of you retreated to another room to go over the information and figure out a plan. Leeds was hosting some big party at this private estate the next day. People would be going in and out of his home, so it was your best chance of getting in. The agent taken hostage was confirmed to be at said estate, given that Leeds has been keeping them close.
“Why don’t I just get close to Leeds myself. Tell me, what’s his type?”
“Sunwoo.”
“I’m serious. I could easily be the hottest girl around, or better yet, why not a famous celebrity? I promise I’ve gotten better with heels.”
“Sunwoo-”
“Does he have socials? That usually shows what someone is into.”
Sunwoo was always eager to show off his skills, and you knew they were very handy out in the field. Truth was, Sunwoo wasn’t a normal human. You didn’t have the details, classified information, but he was a shapeshifter. The agency took him in and helped him learn to control his abilities. Of course who wouldn’t want him to be a spy, his powers were suited perfectly for the job. When he was first assigned to you as your partner you didn’t believe him, not until he showed you. For a while you thought you were hallucinating, but it shouldn’t be all that surprising that a super secret agency would have such an agent. You were just an ordinary human, but your partner was something more. It took a while but you two soon got along, becoming friends and working well together.
“Sunwoo, he’s gay.”
“Oh, so no heels then, perfect.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Why don’t I turn into his favorite idol? I’m sure he’d love to meet-”
“No, no, no! We’ve been over this, you can’t be going on missions with the face of a famous person!”
“It’s a private party.”
“So? What if someone there is a big fan of the idol you pretend to be? They’d post about you on social and you’d cause a major incident!”
“What are the chances?”
“Let’s not test that okay. We need to figure out our best way in, and from there rescue the hostage. Intel shows there is a tracker on the drive, but the signal can only be picked up when in close proximity.”
“So we’re basically gonna have to search the whole estate.”
“Maybe not. Leeds could have it on him, and if he’s kept the hostage close, they might know where the drive is.”
“Then our first target is our compromised agent.”
“Exactly. They’ll need immediate extraction once we get to them.”
“Sounds easy enough, but how are we getting into this party?”
“Lucky for you you’ll get to put on a new face, but not a celebrity one.”
“One day you’ll ask me to shift into your favorite idol, and I might just say no.”
“Focus on the mission, please.”
“I know, I know, the mission comes first.”
🖤
The guest list was full of high profile people, so you just had to pick one and take their place. By now it was second nature for Sunwoo to change shape, and you’d be his plus one. You gave your mission outline to the boss, getting his approval and then preparing. Before you knew it you were standing outside the Leeds estate. Sunwoo was in charge of getting you through the door, and just as predicted, you both managed to just walk in. Then you found a quiet place for Sunwoo to shift back, not wanting to continue impersonating someone and risk getting caught as a fake.
You both split up, sticking to the shadows and watching the guests socialize. Your work was cut out for you a bit as there was a big announcement as Leeds made an appearance. From there you saw the hostage, the beautiful woman he had wrapped around his arm. You recognized her as Alya, someone who had assisted you on missions in the past. The first task here was to get her alone so you could talk. You and Sunwoo found each other’s gazes, giving a knowing nod as you began to weave your way through the crowds to get closer. In your own way you managed to get Alya’s attention, and she recognized you.
A few moments later she managed to step away from Leeds, although two bodyguards followed behind her. You watched her and followed as well, keeping a distance. When she went into the ladies room you knew that was your chance. You waited a few moments before making your way over, acting innocent and managing to slip past the guards. From there you found Alya washing up, a relieved smile on her face upon seeing you. The two of you embraced, both happy to see each other.
“Are you alright?”
“Yes. The bastard hasn’t really bothered with me once he realized I couldn’t decrypt the drive. I’m just his bargaining chip.”
“Not anymore. We’re here to get you out of here.”
“Me? Isn’t the drive the priority?”
“We can kill two birds with one stone here. Besides, someone needs to borrow your clothes.”
“What?”
On cue another beautiful woman walked in, giving a playful wink and wave before Sunwoo shifted back to his normal self.
“How we doing?”
Not many people knew about Sunwoo, and one of those not in the loop was Alya. She was rightfully confused and shocked.
“What the…”
“I know, he’s a lot, but you’ll get answers later. For now the plan is for Sunwoo to take your place and get close to Leeds. We have a device to locate the drive, and it’s possible Leeds has it on him.”
“Alright, but what about me? Do you need me to wait here?”
“No. You’re getting out of this place. Now switch clothes you two.”
While the two went into a bathroom stall and switched their outfits you went to the window, managing to open it up. You were up on the second floor, and there was enough space on the ledge to allow one to move along the walls. When you looked back you saw two versions of Alya, one in a dress and the other in a slightly saggy suit.
“Alright, Alya, you can get out through here. Walk along the ledge, this side of the building faces the woods, and you know people don’t look up. Head to the right, you should see a black van from above, that’s the rest of the team. They’re waiting for you.”
“It’s gonna be good to get out of here. Are you sure you’ll both be alright?”
“We’ll finish the mission. You get out of here safely.”
“Best of luck.”
“Thanks.”
You made sure Alya made her way out, trusting her skills. Once it was back to just you and Sunwoo, you saw your partner checking himself out in the mirror.
“How do I look?”
“Pretty. Do you still have the tracking device?”
“Yup. I’ll go dance with Leeds and see if he has what we need.”
“Alright, and behave yourself. You and Alya are both agents, but if you cause trouble you’ll mess up the whole operation.”
“I know, I know. Trust me.”
“I do, now go.”
Sunwoo went first, and you waited before making your own way out. You blended back into the party, remaining quiet and in the shadows, always keeping Sunwoo in your view. You did feel bad for him, seeing how touchy Leeds was, probably as a means to embarrass and demean Alya. You just hoped Sunwoo wouldn’t act out. After a while though you and Sunwoo made eye contact and he shook his head. Leeds didn’t have the drive on him. That’s what you were afraid of. If Leeds didn’t have the drive on him, it was likely somewhere in this estate. Sunwoo managed to step away and evade the bodyguards, giving you both a chance to speak in a private corner.
“Are you alright?”
“I wanna punch the guy in the face.”
“Soon. So Leeds doesn’t have the drive?”
“No. It’s not on him.”
“Then where would it be? This party doesn’t take place all over the estate, so some areas are off limits. We can’t just go searching.”
“Well he wouldn’t just put it anywhere. It’s the most valuable thing he has at the moment.”
“Exactly, so he’d protect it.”
“Your point?”
“We need to cause an emergency, evacuate the building. Leeds won’t leave without the drive, so he can lead us straight to it.”
“Ah, clever.”
“Go back to your date, make a mess, I’ll make my own, and remember, we need to make sure this place is evacuated.”
“Ugh, don’t say it like that, but I got you. Have fun.”
“You too.”
After parting ways you headed towards the kitchen. A fire was the best way to evacuate people, and this is where it was. You took in your surroundings and figured out a way to cause a minor explosive. On a delay of course. As you were heading back to the main party you could hear some yelling, seeing that Sunwoo was making himself the center of everyone’s attention. He could handle himself so you found your nearest smoke detector, pulling out a lighter and holding it near the device. Soon alarms started blaring, and some sprinklers were activated. You heard screams followed by rushed footsteps. Considering the guests, many didn’t want to be around when law enforcement showed up.
You stayed back, watching the area clear out. Just as imagined, guards tried to get Leeds to evacuate, but he refused, going against the crowd. You didn’t see Sunwoo anywhere, figuring he slipped away during the chaos and was probably surveilling the scene as you were. Things began to quiet down, only the sound of water and sirens could be heard. You quietly followed Leeds, seeing that he was heading into his study. Once he was in the room you attacked the guards waiting outside, getting them out of your way and quietly opening the door to peek in. From there you could see Leeds opening up a hidden safe, then he pulled out the drive. Now was your time to make a move.
“You’re done!”
You burst into the room, catching Leeds off guard and tackling him to the ground. Even though you had the element of surprise, he quickly composed himself and fought back. He wasn’t gonna get taken down easily. He pocketed the drive and focused all his attention on you.
“I knew someone had to be lurking around. I suppose two hostages are better than one.”
“It’s over. Return the drive and turn yourself in.”
“Make me.”
“Happily.”
It was never good to underestimate your opponent, but you were feeling particularly cocky at the moment. Your target was within reach, but you forgot that they had kept another agent hostage. You put up a good fight, and they kept up with you. At one point they even got dirty, grabbing something off the desk and hitting you over the head. That threw you off balance and you stumbled back, feeling something slide down your face. You tried to shake it off but your vision was blurring. If you failed now you’d never let it go. Just as you were regaining some composure you heard someone else come in and take down Leeds. Once your eyes adjusted you were in disbelief.
“Hyunjae? What are you doing here?”
“Did you think you wouldn’t have backup?”
Hyunjae managed to pin Leeds and cuff his hands behind his back. Then he reached over to get the drive.
“Here. I believe this is yours.”
“Thank you…”
“Let me see your head.”
Before you could answer Hyunjae pulled you close, examining your head. Being in his presence like this made you nervous, and you tried not to panic or embarrass yourself. Once he was certain you were bleeding he pulled out his handkerchief and pressed it against your wound.
“Come on, you need medical attention.”
You kept the cloth pressed against your head, Hyunjae pulling Leeds up and dragging him along. Since the operation was a success, the others on standby moved in on the estate. As you made your way out you could see some guests being arrested. This was a good day. You went over to an ambulance, letting one of the EMTs tend to your wound. While that was going on you were approached by the boss.
“Good work. You did a lot of good today.”
“I’m glad.” You held out the drive. “Here you go, sir.”
“Thank you. Get patched up and I’ll see you back at HQ for a debrief.”
“You got it.”
The EMT finished up with you, wrapping a bandage around your head. The injury wasn’t severe so you’d be just fine. You thanked them and then went off to find Sunwoo. You had no idea what he had been up to since you parted ways.
“Another job well done.”
“Oh, Hyunjae, thanks again for your help.”
“I didn’t do much, you handled it all on your own.”
“What? But you…”
Your gaze wandered over as you heard Leeds screaming. That’s when you saw Sunwoo escorting him to the back of a police van. You noticed the suit was missing a handkerchief and looked exactly like the one Hyunjae had been wearing earlier, except now you realized that wasn’t Hyunjae at all.
“Is everything alright?”
“Yes… I… I think… I just… I gotta go…”
You needed to get away from everything and everyone so you could think. The mission and everything leading up to it had been fine, but you weren’t sure how you felt about Sunwoo pulling a stunt like that.
“Y/n! Hey, y/n!”
You ignored Sunwoo’s voice, trying to disappear but he caught up to you, catching your arm. You tried to pull away, but only managed a bit before his grip got firm.
“Hey, I was talking to you. What’s wrong?”
“Seriously?”
“… what?”
“Was it funny for you to pretend to be Hyunjae like that?”
“Oh, that. I thought-”
“Why did you do it?”
“Huh?”
“Did you just want to see me get all flustered and stuff?”
“Y/n, it’s not that serious.”
“It is to me!” You snapped. “You know I have a crush on him and you… everyone always asks how I can trust you when you can change your face so easily… I’ve always said your powers don’t make you any less human than the rest of us… but if something like that is funny to you, and to do it in the middle of a serious mission, how am I supposed to trust you after that?”
“I… I’m sorry… I didn’t know you’d get upset like this… I just thought you’d like the idea of having Hyunjae as your partner… even if for a moment.”
“Sunwoo, you don’t need to pretend to be anyone else when you’re with me. I like you just the way you are.”
“It’s hard to believe that when you could look like someone else… you could easily ask me to make your fantasies come true…”
“I don’t want that. And if you ever turn into Hyunjae again, I will kick your ass.”
Sunwoo chuckled. “You wouldn’t.”
“Try it.”
“Okay, I’ll take your word for it. Shall we get out of here?” Sunwoo held his hand out to you. “I know there’s a nice place not too far from here.”
“Sure. You took his hand. “I could eat.”
You were still a bit upset, but you knew Sunwoo had a good heart. At least you’d trust he wouldn’t do such a thing again and deceive you.
“I do find it odd that you’ve never asked me to turn into someone for you.”
“Like I said, I like you for you, there’s no need to ask you to be fake. So please don’t do that.”
“That makes me happy to hear… I’ll do my best to always be myself when with you.”
“Good. That’s the only Sunwoo I wanna hang out with.”

Louis Tomlinson “The Communist King” is a liar who exploits his fans—Part I
As promised, this post exists thanks to The Mayor of the Hags and her usual “Louis good, Harry bad” nonsense.
Generally speaking, I don’t have a problem with Louis himself—I dislike him, sure, but my real issue is with his fans. This blog is about providing receipts for a fairer fandom, not defending Harry Styles’ honor (god knows he doesn’t need me for that).
That said, The Mayor of the Hags isn’t pulling this out of thin air. Louis Tomlinson is a shady motherfucker and a liar, so let’s get into it.
INTRO
Before we start, a necessary clarification: Understanding someone’s upbringing and economic status in the UK requires knowing its class system—a deeply ingrained structure that goes beyond money.
Yes, Louis’ family was working class. That’s not up for debate. But so were the other four members of One Direction—the difference is, they weren’t marketed that way.
Initially, Louis wasn’t in control of that image either. 1D’s team assigned each member a persona, and his was the “working-class underdog.” His family history—his teen mom, absent dad, and their supposed struggles—was hammered into fans’ heads.
The 1D documentary reinforced this. His mom spoke about their hardships, Louis talked about sharing his wages, and his role as the eldest helping his siblings was a recurring theme. It wasn’t just mentioned—it was drilled in. And while it wasn’t false, it was exaggerated for a narrative.
And this branding wasn’t aimed at class-conscious Brits. Why? Two reasons:
1D’s fanbase was global, which meant most of them wouldn’t grasp UK class nuances.
1D’s fanbase was also mainly pre-teens, so even British fans—it’d mostly flow right by them.
What fans would understand is poverty. That’s what Louis’ branding tapped into.
All five 1D members came from working-class backgrounds. None were well-off. If they really wanted to highlight financial hardship within the group, the person that actually struggled was Zayn—but instead, they were too busy whitewashing him, erasing his Pakistani father, and branding him as “mysterious” to bother. Emphasizing his economic background would’ve clashed with that strategy.
THE REALITY
Louis’ mom, Johannah, was 18 when he was born, and his biological father, Troy Austin, left when Louis was just a baby—both true facts.
Being a teenage single mom can be tough financially, but what often gets overlooked is that Johannah met Mark Tomlinson soon after Troy left. Mark became a father figure to Louis, legally adopted him, and went on to have four more kids with Johannah.
Mark often shares old photos on his Instagram, like the ones below, showing how long he’s been in Louis’ life. In the first, Louis is blowing out four candles on Christmas Eve 1995. In the second, from December 1994, Mark captions it “Christmas past with Louis & Daddy.” These photos confirm Mark was already a father figure to Louis by the time he was two, spending Christmas together and calling himself “Daddy” before Louis turned three.
Louis had a present father who gave him his last name and was there throughout his childhood. Mark and Johannah married and stayed together until late 2010 or early 2011, by which point Louis was already in One Direction, meaning he grew up in a stable two-parent household.
His eldest sister, Lottie, was born in 1998, and his second sister, Félicité, in 2000—when Louis was six and eight years old, respectively.
Around this time, Johannah attended Leeds University and graduated with a degree in Midwifery in 2002. Leeds University confirmed this, featuring her in an alumni magazine alongside Ben Winston, who graduated two years later
For those unfamiliar with the UK education system, studying at Leeds University can be expensive and is considered one of the top universities in the country (though not quite at the level of Oxbridge). To put its prestige into perspective, it was good enough for the son of a Baron—Ben Winston. His father, Baron Robert Winston, has held a seat in the House of Lords since 1995.
The fact that Johannah was able to attend Leeds while raising three children—presumably on just Mark’s paycheck—suggests they were financially stable enough to support her education, their home, and their kids.
Mark worked as a commercial truck salesman, a well-paying role, especially since commercial trucks typically have higher profit margins than regular cars. After graduating, Johannah worked as a midwife at an NHS hospital, a job that also offers a solid income. By 2004, when Louis was 12, Johannah gave birth to twins, Daisy and Phoebe, who appeared as extras on an ITV show, Fat Friends. Johannah also worked as a chaperone on set, where she met James Corden.
Louis had a few TV roles as well, including an extra part in the film If I Had You and in the drama series Waterloo Road.
In the early 2000s, Johannah likely earned £18K–22K a year as a midwife, depending on her band, plus extra income from her chaperone work. Mark’s base salary would’ve been slightly above minimum wage, so around £15K, with commissions potentially doubling or even tripling that, bringing his total income to £30K–60K+.
Together, their combined income would have ranged from £50K to £82K+ annually.
For context, the median household income in Doncaster in 2024 was around £24K. In the 2000s, that figure was likely even lower, meaning the Tomlinsons' combined income would have easily doubled or even tripled the local average.
This was reflected in their lifestyle. The family regularly went on vacations, and Louis went to France every single year since he was born.

Sometimes twice a year…

Going to France every year, sometimes twice a year, for a big family of seven would be nearly impossible for a financially struggling family. While it's not super expensive for a British family to go to France, the frequency and size of the trips suggest the Tomlinsons were financially comfortable, not struggling.
In fact, Louis even taught Harry how to ski—though Harry was supposed to be “the posh one”... Skiing is definitely not a cheap hobby, further highlighting the Tomlinsons' financial stability.

Louis owned a Clio as a teenager, and his girlfriend at the time, Hannah, confirmed it on Twitter. Although her account has since been deleted, you can still find a link to the tweet.
For Americans, this might not seem that significant, but in the UK, it's much less common for teenagers—especially those from lower-income backgrounds—to own a car. In fact, a 2017 poll showed that only 55% of people aged 18-29 owned any car or motor vehicle (including bikes). And that’s up to age twenty-nine.
In the UK, you can't drive until you're 17. By 2012, only 10% of 17-year-olds had a driver's license, according to the Department for Transport.
This highlights how rare it was for Louis to not only drive but also own his own car. If he was able to sell it when he moved to London with One Direction, then it clearly wasn’t a family car.
Louis also owned a mid-tier smartphone, a laptop with editing software (for uploading covers to his YouTube channel), gaming consoles, and expensive clothes. He took acting lessons and even owned a keyboard.
The Tomlinsons lived in a detached house in Bessacarr, the most expensive part of Doncaster. Detached houses are typically the most desirable types of property since they don't share walls with neighbors. In contrast, semi-detached homes and terraced houses are more common in working-class areas.
A TikToker from the area did a tour of Louis’ childhood home and his grandparents’ house (neither of which are owned by the family anymore). The Tomlinsons had owned the detached house since at least Lottie’s early childhood.
I want to make this clear: none of this means his family was wealthy, nor does it erase their working-class status. The area they lived in, their family history, and the jobs they held were all firmly working class. With such a large family, they likely faced financial difficulties, especially when Louis was younger.
What this does negate, however, is Louis’ repeated claims of severe financial hardship—his insistence that they were a low-income family who couldn’t afford anything.
Louis' constant emphasis on his struggles feels forced, like a strategy to appear relatable despite being a millionaire charging fans—who are actually struggling, in some cases—premium prices. His image is a caricature, and we’ll continue to deconstruct it. He didn’t just exaggerate; he outright lied about some of these claims.
At some point, I may dedicate a post to Harry’s background, but for now, it’s important to note that while he was marketed as “posh,” he actually came from a working-class family, facing many of the same struggles as Louis. Although his family lived in more affluent areas for part of his childhood, his childhood home was a terraced house, described as “humble” in publications.
Before settling in Holmes Chapel, Harry’s family lived in Evesham and above a pub in Northwich, both of which were far less affluent. His parents separated when he was seven, and his mother remarried, only to separate again when Harry was twelve. Both Harry and his sister, Gemma, were latchkey kids due to their mother's long working hours.
Robin, Harry's stepdad, didn’t come into his life until Harry was 13/14, and they didn’t marry until Harry was 19. By then, Harry had been in 1D for years. While Robin was wealthier, he was only a significant presence in Harry’s life for a very short period prior to the band.
So why was Harry marketed as “posh”? Every pop band has a “posh” member. In Take That, it was Gary Barlow. In the Spice Girls, they went all in and literally nicknamed Victoria Adams “Posh Spice.” It’s a strategy to ensure all audiences have someone they can relate to. But since all the members of One Direction were decidedly working class, the closest one to “posh” was Harry—simply by virtue of living in a slightly more affluent area. (Crewe, where Holmes Chapel is located, has a median income just £2K above Doncaster’s, so while property and education were definitely “higher level,” it was nowhere near the vast difference we were led to believe).
Perceptions of British social class aside, Louis and Harry’s financial realities were strikingly similar. In fact, on paper, Louis seemed to live with a bit more luxury—at least until Robin entered the picture.
THE HAMMERING
Louis was marketed by 1D’s team as the “working-class lad,” with a heavy emphasis on financial struggles and his family background. While this wasn’t his responsibility, once he went solo, he fully embraced it, making it a core part of his brand.
It’s normal to mention your background in interviews, but what’s odd is when it appears in every single one of them. Take this one from Noisey (now Vice) in 2017, where he’s introduced as:
The fact that Louis’ background was so average, so relatable, was already inherently part of his appeal. Rather than trying to shrug off his working class Northern roots, he vehemently embraced them. There was nothing about Louis that screamed ‘showbiz.’ He didn’t come from money. He hadn’t been to Brit School.
They then position him as the opposite of the other 1D members, especially Harry. (They even link an article where they snobbishly criticize Harry, but I won’t dive into that here to avoid getting derailed.)
Even today, seven years later, when he couldn’t live a life further from what he grew up knowing, he clings onto his background with an almost commendable stubbornness. While the others from the band—particularly Harry Styles and Zayn Malik, and even Liam Payne to a certain degree—seem to revel in the starry sheen of pop fame by dating other high-profile figures, being seen on the front row at fashion shows or stumbling out of A-list parties and having the sort of meticulously crafted marketing campaigns that are designed to create intrigue, Louis has always appeared to shy away from that side of things; with one foot cautiously dipped into the lifestyle, and the other firmly on the ground.
Louis would then go on about Doncaster, how his mates kept him grounded, and how he doesn’t like the Hollywood party scene. That’s basically the theme of every interview he’s had since, up until today.
I can’t think of anything more boring than going through all of Louis’ interviews in detail, so I’ll just share short snippets with sources of a few of them instead.
HYPEBEAST - 2023
Many know Louis Tomlinson as a Doncaster lad-turned-pop-icon and part of era-defining boyband, One Direction. But despite his superstar status, the 31-year-old has never lost touch with his relaxed Northern soul. It’s been central to everything he puts his mind to, from music to football… and now, fashion.
That’s how it starts, btw.
FAR OUT MAGAZINE - 2019
His working-class Yorkshire heritage, he told me, is what has made him the man he is today: “You’ve got to be fucking humble where we’re from you know what I mean? Because otherwise you get called out like ‘who the fuck do you think you are?’”. The greatest takeaway from our conversation is that Louis Tomlinson is still that music enthusiast that entered the music industry in 2010 who, despite all the success and fame, has managed to stay grounded.
A music enthusiast who hasn’t learned how to play a single instrument in 15 years and cannot talk about songwriting coherently for the life of him. Sure. Whatever you say.
THE GUARDIAN - 2017
Tomlinson gives the example of how he first became famous. Born in Doncaster in 1991 he was raised by his mother, Johannah Deakin, and later also by her new partner Mark Tomlinson. (...) And as a self-aware northerner, from a proudly working class family (...)
“Later also,” the wording implies much later, not at TWO YEARS OLD. I also thought they might not mention his family was working class in one interview. Alas.
THE GUARDIAN - 2019
As a child, growing up in Doncaster with his mum Johannah, who raised him alone until she married Tomlinson’s stepfather, he loved performing. “I liked to be the class clown, I liked to make people laugh, to show off, all that.” When his younger twin sisters were cast on TV dramas, he would sometimes go along as their chaperone, earning £30. “Where I’m from, we don’t have anyone who’s been on TV or anything like that, so it was super-exciting,” he says. He ended up picking up work as an extra. “The pinnacle of my acting career was one line on an ITV drama. I don’t even know if they used my scene,” he says with a laugh. When he was 15, he joined a drama group in Barnsley, which his mum would take him to when she could afford it. “I think I was confused, thinking I wanted to act when actually what I wanted to do was perform.”
Once again, minimizing the role of his stepfather to paint this picture of a single mom. Mark raised him for SIXTEEN YEARS. Johannah was a single mom for TWO.
She took him to lessons “when she could afford it.” The constant drilling of these financial struggles drips drips drips from every single word in every single interview. This interview in particular will be brought up later again.
THE GUARDIAN - 2022
I worked at Doncaster Rovers as the guy you bought the pies off. We had a little scheme. If the pie fell on the floor, even foil side up, it couldn’t be sold. I didn’t have a lot of money at the time, so a lot went overboard, because the pies were banging. I’ve not been on a night out in Doncaster for years. It’s a combination of being too busy and the fact there’s always a chancer who wants to give you a slap. I don’t want to get my head kicked in. I’m low-maintenance. I don’t have any major diva requests. As long as I’ve got coffee and cigarettes, I’m sound.
THE TELEGRAPH - 2022
Scruffily unshaven, in gym wear and trainers, the 30-year-old hops up to open a window, while chatting away in a friendly and engaged manner. “I never really chose this life,” he insists, with a strong Doncaster accent (though he lives in Hertfordshire now). “I auditioned for X Factor and crossed me fingers. And now, here I am.”
In. Every. Interview. He has to tack that in. He just has to.
METRO - 2022
“That’s the sound that I would say defined growing up for me. That kind of music is big in the North of England full stop and especially in working class town-forward-slash-just-been-made-a-city Doncaster. I spent a lot of my time as a young lad in this indie bar called Priory, and thats how I discovered a lot about music that I’ve grown up to love.”
This one is hilarious, because the question was about what type of music he liked and why. He could be asked what he had for breakfast and he’d reply, “Well, as a working-class lad from Doncaster...” To be perfectly honest? I presume he already has said something to that effect.
“UNDER THE TONGUE”, Adidas Documentary - 2024
“We didn’t have a load of money when I were younger, so I didn’t have great boots growing up. Like anyone who didn’t have a pair of Predators, of course I always aspired to have a pair.”
It’s a 2-minute appearance and he manages to sneak that in. Insanity.
This talking point is persistent in everything he does. Even in stuff like his track-by-track commentary, particularly for his second album, FitF.
The man wore hammer and sickle clothes, for crying out loud.
The literal communist symbol. I’m not here to do the meme...
But I am here to tell you that a communist Louis Tomlinson is not. He exploits his fans, especially his most ardent ones, who tend to be the ones who suffer economic hardships the most—the ones he’s trying to be relatable to. The ones who see themselves in his inane discourse. But we’ll get to that.
His whole “anarchy” as an asthetic—particularly as a tattoo— is grating as fuck.
Louis is a multi-millionnaire who hoards wealth through very little hardship and who nowadays makes a ton of money with the least amount of effort. This goes against the very fabric of the anarchist movement.
He’s also a very proud Englishman who even in fucking INDIA pointed to a fan wearing an England shirt in the audience:

Overt nationalism coming from a self-ascribed anarchist, particularly from one who comes from a colony system as cruel and long-lived as the British Empire over India, is the exact opposite of what anarchism stands for.
Remember when he did an entire music video for his main solo single in 2017 in Doncaster:
youtube
Whatever, cool, if it wasn’t for the fact that it came with an entire round of press with this as a central talking point. And a behind the scenes music video where the main focus is once again, Doncaster and how working class it is.
youtube
He also wrote a couple of songs about this or related to it, particularly Common People:
youtube
And with this song, we start the next section.
THE LIES
If he was simply hyper-focused on this upbringing of his—despite the fact that he’s spent about half his life living as a millionnaire already and well, everything else I’ve already covered, it’d be a little comical, whatever, but he outright lies and exaggerates constantly.
The lyrics to Common People... the only reason he gets away with these lies is that he’s not successful enough for non-fans to notice, and his fans would jump off a building if he asked them to.
I came from a good home A house full of terraced dreams That was enough for me You know, you had to see it to believe
You... you didn’t live in a terraced house, Louis. You lived in a quite big detached house in Bessaccar, with a two-income household that doubled (maybe even tripled) the median for the area. WHY ARE YOU OUTRIGHT LYING? You know who lived in terraced/semi-detached houses? ALL OF YOUR 1D BANDMATES. And NONE OF THEM made their working-class background their entire personality!
It’s insidious, the way he lies. In his documentary, he has his grandparents talk about how little money his mom had and how they lived in a little apartment. Then Louis says that his biological dad left him and he was alone with his mom, but that he didn’t “miss the love of a father” because his mom “doubled that.”
Then Lottie talks about how he had four sisters, and Louis takes over and says he loved being “the only lad.” The implication being here that his mother was taking care of five children on her own. That there was no father.
All of this conversation happens over footage of Louis, his mom, and his sisters. He completely erases his stepfather from a huge chunk of his life. A stepfather that was there for him since he was two. There are not even pictures of Mark during this segment, a feat that was probably quite hard to accomplish, considering he was literally there. This was part of an extended trailer for the documentary, meaning the part most people would watch (from 2 mins on).
youtube
Of course, you could try to find a way to justify it, somehow. Maybe he’s not on good terms with his stepdad? Maybe his stepdad did something or something happened, and Louis made the operative decision not to include him for that reason? But his stepdad is in the documentary. In fact, he shows up right after this section to talk about Louis auditioning for Grease when he was a teenager.
So, the decision to completely erase his stepdad—the man who adopted him and gave him his last name when he was a toddler—from a huge chunk of his life, specifically highlighting his and his mom’s struggles, is simply glaring. It’s obviously purposeful. It’s trying to rewrite history and present a completely different reality. One could maybe overlook it as a strange decision, but with no ulterior motives, if Louis hadn’t spent the last several years of his solo career continuously underlining his “struggles” every step of the way.
But he does. Victimization is one of his biggest tools, and being “a working class lad” is at the forefront of this image.
He lied when he said that his mom took him to drama class “when she could afford it” considering in other interviews he said he just wasn’t consistent with it.
He talked about not being able to afford expensive clothes, but he... did.... he owned expensive clothes. He didn’t own designer clothes. But he owned expensive clothes. He even tweeted about buying them before joining the band.
He lied when he said that he couldn’t afford the boots he wanted. Louis you had multiple jobs. You were well-off enough to afford a car. Don’t piss me the fuck off. Maybe your mom didn’t think it was a good idea to spend £150 on overpriced boots, when perfectly good ones could go for as cheap as £60 to £30, but that’s called BEING MIDDLE CLASS. It’s not, “we didn’t have a lot of money.”
He’s so detached from reality that he thinks not being able to splash out buying Predator Adidas is somehow a class signifier. LOUIS, MOST KIDS HAD PARENTS WHO WOULD REFUSE THAT SORT OF SHALLOW SPENDING.
The way he frames things, the way he insists on this talking point. He probably has bought his own lies at this point. There are a ton of others, but they’re smaller. Just white lies. It’d take me forever to break them down one by one, but the thing about them is that they add up to create a picture that simply isn’t true.
THE SHADE
He uses this marketing strategy of his to throw shade at... well, at a lot of people. You’ve seen how one of the earliest articles of his solo career positioned him against Harry, Liam, and Zayn. Also against the obscure figure of “the A-list celebrity.” Against popstars.
Mainly, though, his antagonist is Harry. He throws a lot of shade towards Harry, but never with his chest.
Remember that 2019 The Guardian interview that I said would come up again?
“If I went back to Doncaster and I was dripping in Gucci or whatever, I’d probably get whacked. I’m always very conscious of not acting too big for my boots. It’s the people around me who keep me sane and normal, because they give me insight into real life.”
He said that in September 2019, just a couple of weeks after Harry became the most visible Gucci ambassador and the face of their gender neutral fragrance
But shade aside, because that was 100% purposeful, just two years before saying this... he was dripping with Gucci, and Stella McCartney, and Off White... where? Yep, in Doncaster.

And his “mates” were right there...
And no, it wasn’t an isolated event. He wore Gucci a ton of times. He wore Gucci when hanging out with friends, walking down the street, at concerts, etc. It wasn’t that a stylist put him in a brand and he had no idea or anything like that.

The man, to this day, wears a ton of designer clothes. Prada, Alexander Wang, Burberry, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Armani. Dior, Balmain, Ralph Lauren. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course. The problem is that he acts like wearing these clothes would be that he’d be ashamed to be caught doing. As if he was the opposite of everything Harry represents (something that The Mayor of the Hags constantly drones about).
It’s extremely hypocritical because he does the same thing.
Harry just wears cute clothes, mostly. Sometimes trippy. Louis wears sweatpants that cost a fortune for no reason. Which is fine—he’s a filthy rich celebrity. JUST FUCKING OWN IT, MAN.
A few months after Harry’s debut album came out—a concise record that was 10 tracks long and lasted 40:18 mins—Louis was asked if his debut album would have more than 10 tracks, to which he replied:

That... that is not how music works. Music is art. The important part of music is that it’s good, that it moves something in you, that you enjoy it. If anything, the important part of it in terms of value is if it has replay. I’ve legit never seen anyone else say “value for money” in terms of tracks on an album. He’s so fucking try-hard and corny.
ANYWAY, Louis’ debut album, despite the Communist King’s comments, did have more than 10 tracks... 12, to be exact. It was, incidentally, shorter than HS1, clocking at 39:30 mins. So, by Louis’ own definition, I guess that’s... not value for money?

We covered the other instances of shade already, like when he shaded Harry for not taking drugs while he was in 1D. And there are, of course, others, but they’re not necessarily tied to this whole class/money thing—that I can remember! If you have more examples, feel free to send them over and I’ll add them.
His fans do the heavy lifting for him on this topic. Because he has repeated these talking points so many times that they automatically attack Harry with them.
Louis has somehow convinced them that when he pisses on them, it’s rain. Because make no mistake, The Communist King, pisses on his fans. And that’s what we’ll talk about in part II.
THE STANDARD INTERVIEW
So, we arrived at the last part of this post. It’s funny because I started writing it before this interview came out.
[The following few paragraphs are background info on the writer and the publication. If you want to skip to the interview analysis, you can!
It was written by Joe Bromley, Fashion Editor at The Standard. Bromley’s career dates back to ES Magazine, a key publication in cultural influence. He joined The Evening Standard in 2021 and became junior writer in 2023, with a meteoric rise to editor. He’s also contributed to Lampoon Mag, Yahoo UK, and The Irish Independent. The Evening Standard is a reputable publication in its own right.
Of course, Louis’ fans tried to claim that Bromley is “a Harrie” or was paid by Harry’s team to write such a negative piece. The evidence for this? A year ago, he wrote one article about Harry. It’s not overtly positive and has some snide comments and shade, but it leans positive overall. Otherwise, there’s no connection between them. Bromley doesn’t even follow Harry on social media. He does follow Harry Lambert (Harry’s stylist) and Alessandro Michele, but both are designers, so, as a Fashion Editor, it’s his job to follow them.
Naturally, no one can organically be bemused by Louis’ ridiculous attempt at branding. Joe must be on someone’s payroll!
Why would Harry’s team care to do this? Well, The Hags have somehow convinced themselves that, despite Louis’ solo career going nowhere while Harry’s has skyrocketed, Harry (or his team) is somehow very threatened by Louis and his potential. They can’t explain why anyone—let alone Harry Styles—would be threatened by someone who can’t sing, can’t play any instruments, has the charisma of a cardboard box, and takes zero care of his physical appearance. But, you know, if you repeat something enough times, even if you can’t back it up, it becomes reality.]
Louis describes himself as “chavvy.” This isn’t the first time he’s done this—he’s used the term multiple times.
And this, this misuse of the term chav and what it implies, is exactly why his whole persona is so problematic.
A chav is not simply a young person from a working-class background whose parents didn’t allow them to buy Adidas Predators. A chav is a term that implies actual struggle. It implies growing up on a council estate or a deprived neighborhood, not being able to afford food, lacking access to proper education, enduring an unstable home environment, and growing up surrounded by violence. It implies being unsafe and ostracized by society.
Louis faced none of this. He grew up in a stable, two-parent, two-income household that earned double the median income, with access to technology, education, and a supportive family. He lived in a beautiful, affluent neighbourhood. He owned a fucking car. He might have been a little rowdy and couldn’t afford very expensive boots—that doesn’t make him a chav.
A regular person could describe themselves as a chav without “earning it,” and we could have a lighthearted discussion on whether that’s appropriate. But Louis isn’t a regular person. He’s been crafting this persona for years. He’s been building this fake background since he first went solo, and now, as a fucking millionaire, he’s using it as an excuse to sell overpriced apparel to young girls.
To some degree, it’s reminiscent of the conversation about Harry and queerness. So, why is it problematic for Louis to do this and not for Harry? There are three main reasons.
Harry hasn’t claimed an identity that doesn’t belong to him. In fact, he’s deliberately not claimed any. Queerness isn’t something we can physically measure—it’s something inherent that can change and evolve. No one could assert that he’s lying if he did claim it, but the fact is, he hasn’t. Louis, on the other hand, has. Loudly, repeatedly. He slapped the chav label on himself, a label that can be physically measured, and one he decidedly hasn’t earned.
What Harry adopted is an aesthetic. Aesthetics can’t be copyrighted, and there’s nothing inherently problematic about adopting one. In fact, it would be problematic to assume someone is part of a specific community because of the clothes they wear. If Louis had simply adopted a “chav aesthetic,” it might be a little cringe at his 33 years of age, but there’d be nothing wrong with it.
Harry is not ascribing or perpetuating negative stereotypes to queerness or to the aesthetic surrounding it... As you’re about to see, Louis is.
This caricature Louis creates only serves to denigrate and vilify the working class he wants to use for his image. The portrayal of being loud, irresponsible, constantly partying, not dressing up for events, cursing inappropriately, and showing disinterest in culture is rooted in harmful stereotypes. It normalizes them, especially for his global audience, many of whom wouldn’t fully understand what the term even means.
“There’s a very, very chavvy aesthetic in Doncaster, at least when I was growing up. That’s exactly who I am and the kind of stuff that I like.”
This quote highlights exactly what’s wrong with his persona. For most people deemed “chavs” in the real world, it’s not an aesthetic—it’s their lives. It’s their prospects for the future. It’s the violence they face every day, the deprivation, and the pain of broken households. They can’t just put on a “chav costume” and use it to sell overpriced, glorified merch to teenagers, then take it off when it’s no longer convenient.
“I don’t think it’s a bad word, not to me.”
Well, it doesn’t matter what it means to you, Louis. I know it might be hard to believe, but you’re not the center of the universe. What matters is what the term means culturally and the negative connotations it carries. The term chav is generally deemed as social racism. Its connotations are overwhelmingly negative—they have affected entire generations of low-income men and women. And you’re helping prolong the stigma.
“To me it’s about culture. It might mean other things to other people.”
What culture? You know nothing about culture. You’ve admitted you don’t read books, explore cities, try new foods, or listen to other genres of music. In this very interview, you even admitted you can’t name a single thing you like about London—one of the most culturally rich cities in the world, where you’ve lived for almost half your life. You also admitted you wouldn’t even know where to move if you wanted to.
You have no grasp of culture. You’re entitled, privileged, and have the narrowest view of the world. It’s not that “chav” might mean other things to other people—it’s that it does. But you wouldn’t know that, because that would require you to take your eyes off your own navel for two seconds.
Your understanding of the world and what being working class means hasn’t evolved since you were 18. You don’t have an adult perspective on the cultural and socioeconomic struggles that come with being low income and marginalized. It’s why you equate not being able to buy Adidas Predators with “not having money.” You didn’t experience actual deprivation or marginalization as a child, had everything you could ever wish for as soon as you became an adult, and never showed an ounce of curiosity to dig deeper or gain at least an outsider’s perspective.
You’re a fraud. The editor of The Standard saw right through you. That’s why he pointed out your actual height and the fact that you wear concealer. It’s why he implied that you weren’t being genuine when you went on about loving your fans’ invasive attitude. It’s why he demeaned your clothing line and your environment.
Your fans will continue to make excuses for your shortcomings. They’ll keep blaming everyone else for it—your management, your label, your PR agent, your friends, your sisters, Harry Styles, Harry Styles’ team, Harry Styles’ fans—anyone but the real culprit: YOU.
Everyone else sees right through it.
Part II should be up shortly. And, if I dare say so myself, it’s particularly cutting.

when peter met nellie..
chapter 1: the moment i met you, i thought i‘ll jump of a cliff.

I always told myself that I would get married in a castle with my prince charming or that my first kiss would be from a superhero. But those were just the thoughts of a little girl who dreamed of things far beyond her reach.
I used to think love was easy—easy to find, easy to feel, easy to hold onto. But when I hit my teenage years, my perspective twisted.
Books never mentioned that boys could be complete douchebags. They never warned me that dating apps existed, where you could swipe left or right like people were disposable. They never said that love wasn’t always like the movies.
I had gone on a few dates, had a few relationships, but they never went anywhere—at least, nowhere good. And yet, I remained hopeful, because I loved love.
I loved the idea that somewhere out there, someone was waiting—just for me.
And looking back, I should have known that Peter Parker would be the bane of my existence. Or, as some might call it, fate. Maybe even the one who waited.
But at fifteen, you don’t always see the obvious.
Before I truly met Peter, I was an intern at Oscorp Industries—a big deal for a high school sophomore. Even now, I still don’t know how I landed the opportunity, but maybe it was meant to happen. Science was my life. While other kids my age were busy worrying about prom dates and football games, I was spending my weekends analyzing DNA sequences and studying biochemical reactions.
My goal was to work at Oscorp full-time one day—maybe even lead my own research project. I was serious about it. Maybe too serious sometimes.
Which is why I hated field trip days.
That afternoon, a group of students from Midtown High was scheduled to visit, meaning my workspace would be invaded by a bunch of students who probably didn’t care about what we were doing here. Most of them were probably just here for extra credit or to get out of a test, and I had little patience for any of it.
I had been assigned to help lead the tour alongside Dr. Connors—answering questions and making sure no one touched anything they weren’t supposed to. It wasn’t exciting, but it was better than sitting in a classroom. That was until I heard a name that made me inwardly groan.
Peter Parker.
I didn’t go to Midtown, but I knew that name. Everyone in the science circuit did.
And not just because he was a so-called genius, but because my neighbor, Liz Allan, once had a thing with him. I had heard all about how he broke her heart—some drama about prom night, though I never asked for details.
He was the kind of person people couldn’t stop talking about—a prodigy, a teenage genius, someone whose mind was years beyond his age. My age. He won every science fair, had published academic papers, and was practically the golden boy of Midtown High’s academic program.
But, apparently, he was also a heartbreaker.
I never had a problem with intelligence. And I wasn’t jealous. But what I had heard—what I was about to experience firsthand—was that Peter Parker knew he was smart. And worse, he thought he was the smartest person in any room.
The moment he stepped into the lab, I braced myself.
“Okay, okay, this is cool,” Peter said, glancing around wide-eyed. His friend, Ned Leeds—a slightly nervous-looking guy in a hoodie—nudged him.
“I thought you already knew everything, dude.”
Peter grinned. “I mean, I do, but I like to be impressed sometimes.”
I rolled my eyes but didn’t say anything.
It was true what everyone said about him. But they never mentioned how weirdly attractive he was—for a nerd.
Peter wasn’t scrawny; he was tall and built. His chestnut-colored eyes were bright, and his curly, chocolate-brown hair shone under the cold fluorescent lights. He wasn’t ugly, that was for sure. But his personality? That was far from the perfect description of every nerd, girls swooned over in books and movies.
Dr. Connors began the tour, explaining some of the research we were doing, and I did my part, demonstrating some of the simpler experiments we used for controlled studies. It was going fine—until Peter opened his mouth.
“You know,” he said, tilting his head as he watched me set up a reaction, “this would work a lot faster if you adjusted the temperature by a couple of degrees.”
I glanced at him. “Really?”
“Yeah. You’re working with an enzyme reaction, right? The activation energy threshold is too low. If you increase the heat just slightly, you’ll see the reaction speed up without denaturing the protein.”
I narrowed my eyes. “I know how enzymes work.”
Peter shrugged. “Just saying. You don’t have to do it the slow way.”
I forced a smile, keeping my voice even. “This is a controlled experiment. We’re demonstrating fundamental principles, not trying to rush a result.”
Ned elbowed him. “Dude, let her do her job.”
Peter held up his hands, grinning. “Hey, I’m just trying to help.”
I could feel my face heating up—not with embarrassment, but with frustration. I knew my position, knew I could do anything, including kicking him out of the lab. And after all these years, I still wonder—what if I had?
Dr. Connors cleared his throat. “Parker, if you’d like to conduct your own experiments, I’m sure Oscorp will be happy to accept your internship application next year.”
Peter’s smirk faltered. “Uh, right. Sorry.”
He straightened up, slipping his hands into his jeans pockets, but I could feel his presence still lingering. As if he wanted to get under my skin.
I turned back to my work, determined to ignore him. But, of course, he wasn’t done.
“So,” Peter said after a few minutes, “what school do you go to?”
“Not Midtown,” I replied flatly.
He raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, I got that. You don’t exactly seem thrilled to see us.”
“I’m thrilled to be working,” I said. “Not babysitting.”
Ned let out a low whistle. “Oof. Burn.”
Peter, to my surprise, laughed. “Okay, okay, I deserved that. But seriously, where do you go?”
“Standard High.”
“Oh.”
“Yep.”
Peter crossed his arms. “Fancy.”
Funny story—Standard High and Midtown High were kind of rivals in the Academic Decathlon competition. I used to be on the team, but I left when I got my internship at Oscorp.
For a second, I thought he might actually drop it. But then—
“So, do you even like it here?” he asked, motioning around the lab.
I stared at him. “What kind of question is that?”
“I mean, you’re obviously smart. But do you actually like doing this stuff, or are you just trying to impress your teachers?”
I clenched my jaw. “I don’t have to impress anyone. Unlike you.”
Ned sucked in a breath. “Oh, man, she’s got you figured out.”
Peter narrowed his eyes, but instead of looking offended, he looked… amused. Like he had just found a new puzzle to solve. I hated that look. I barely knew him, only his name and stupid face already.
“Well,” he said after a moment, “this was fun.” His chestnut-brown eyes were still locked on mine, a soft, amused glint in them. His gaze flickered to my name tag, and for a moment, I could have sworn he remembered my name, forever.
“For you, maybe,” I muttered.
As the tour wrapped up, I thought that would be the last time I saw Peter Parker. He was just some obnoxious kid from another school, someone I’d never have to deal with again.
But as he walked out of the lab, he glanced back at me, grinning. “See you around, intern.”
I didn’t know it then, but he was right.
I would see Peter Parker around.
More than I ever wanted to.

Spider-Man Read-Through 071 Nothing Can Stop The Juggernaut (ASM 229-232, Ann 16, Savage Land)
MASTERPOST
In this post, villains are gay, heroes are gay, everybody's gay!
PLUS...
Captain Marvel's arrival in Marvel comics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So in ASM 229, Madame Web dreams of her own death and subsequently calls Peter to ask him to save her.
Meanwhile, Black Tom Cassidy and the Juggernaut explain to the reader that they're after her because of her psychic powers, which could very well help them defeat the X-Men.
Oh... Hello, Tom... *blushes*
Ahem. At the Bugle...
I'm always glad to see Gloria Grant!
Robbie tells Peter that Lance Bannon takes all pics assignments! What a meanie.
HAHAHA. Was that a dig? Girl, you really shouldn't say anything.
She's been seeing a marriage counselor with Ned, but she's also looking for work and Robbie's more than eager to welcome her as his secretary. Betty takes the time to thank Peter for bringing some sense into her the last time they saw each other, then Madame Web calls Peter to give him information about his target.
I love that panel.
Spidey's attempt to stop the Juggernaut is a complete failure. Admitting his defeat, he tells Madame Web (who calls him once more) to call the Avengers or the Fantastic Four for help, but they're unavailable. In Dr. Strange's office, next to Wong, Spidey learns the X-Men aren't available either.
Even Keating's police forces can't harm the Juggernaut. He eventually reaches Madame Web's room and takes her out of her life support chair. She immediately collapses, and the Juggernaut surmises that in that state, she's of no use to him. He leaves, and Spidey does CPR on Madame Web while waiting for help.
The issue ends with Peter wanting revenge...
Iconic issue for reasons that are easy to see. It's a good one, for sure!
In #230, Spidey's pursuit of the Juggernaut continues.
Meanwhile, Betty and Gloria get along really well, then...
Oooh!
Anyway:
Oh.
Love the first panel and also, wow. Alright, sir.
Things get kinky.
Spidey successfully leads the Juggernaut into cement, and the villain falls down, swearing he'll get his revenge. This... is a bit dark, innit?
Peter gives his photo to the Bugle and runs to see Madame Web.
Oh. Uh, I'm not fond of that development. I hope her amnesia is temporary...
At the pier, Black Tom observes...
That's a nice ending. Interesting set of issues.
In #231, the Cobra steals stuff and Peter gives us an elaborate explanation for the lack of web under his arms (and their return this very issue!).
Sure.
At the Pier, the Juggernaut breaks free. As for the Bugle, Ned Leeds is back too! Jameson called him to investigate the Brand corporation (which was linked to the Killer Shrike in SSM).
Betty's worried about Ned's appointment in the underworld, though, so she calls Peter through Debra Whitman. The issue takes this opportunity to remind the reader that she suspects Peter of being Spidey! I'd forgotten about that myself, to be honest.
Peter kind of has a fuckboy vibe in the left panel...
The Peter-Hochberg experiment is successful, and Peter immediately goes out as Spidey.
In a seedy bar, Marla and Ned find Nose, a anti-smoking walking advertisement, and the Cobra panics because he thinks Nose will sell him out. "Talking to reporters about us?" asks the Cobra. Not very straight of him. Spidey arrives, there's a fight, the Cobra tries to shoot Nose but Ned jumps in front of him to protect him.
This is really gay. I ship it, but then again, I've been shipping Peter and Ned since I was a child and read the years 1973-1975.
Whaaat is this foreplay between Spidey and Ned this issue? Am I the only one seeing it?
Anyway, suddenly a house almost kills Peter.
Jesus Christ.
It's not the Juggernaut, but Mr Hyde (whose appearance was foreshadowed in a previous issue)! He's quite ugly.
ASM 232: Mr. Hyde wants to get his old partner, the Cobra, back, and Ned, Marla and Lance get tangled up in that somehow.
I like Lance, for what's worth.
Spidey doesn't have as much patience as me, obviously.
In the end, Hyde gets away with the Cobra and Peter comes back to ESU.
Will we stop seeing them? I don't think I'm ready for that. It's sad...
It's interesting that after Stern takes over, Peter stops being a TA.
GORGEOUS RIGHT PANEL WHAT THE FUCK.
Marcy really wants to talk to Peter for a sec, but he's busy as usual and disappears. This is why you can't have friends, Peter!
I'm gonna cry, but admittedly that might be because I'm drunk reviewing this issue, like, a full month after the rest of this post. I missed these guys. "Good luck, Peter"...
Hyde is an interesting villain. Both halves need each other, but the terrible part hates its less terrible half.
Anyway, Spidey fights our antagonist.
Nice panel on the right. Hyde is stopped, and...
...Is this the first time we see blood in these comics? It feels strange, out of place. What the heck.
The next issue features the Tarantula (yay!!) but we're not going to see that right now.
Let's check out ASM Annual 16. Waiting for the bus to join Harry and Liz, Peter has a funny feeling about a gorgeous Black lady... who soon appears to be one Captain Marvel.
Flashback time! A friend of Monica Rambeau's grandfather went to the trouble of finding her. He planned to harness energy from other dimensions, but a dictator wants to use his knowledge for his own designs.
The place so happens to belong to Roxxon, which is a name that appeared quite a lot of time recently!
Monica's backstory is nice, but we soon get back to the present, where Spidey has to beg a child (whose parents think Spidey is "a hoax of eastern establishment") to give him a penny to... Whatever.
Captain Marvel's at the Baxter Building and meets The Thing, then she goes to the Avengers manor. A few jokes are made about how she's not related to the previous Captain Marvel, and Iron Man, the Wasp and Spidey successfully help her not erase New York from Earth with the interdimensional energy she absorbed in her flashback.
This is really cute. And then...
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
It feels so nice to see them again, and to see handsome Pete again (he's such a snack), and to see all of them happy! I just had to put the full page here 🥰
After that, there's a whole Savage Lands saga. I skimmed through it. Let's just... forget about it hahaha
(well, the men in skimpy clothes were a nice feature I'll say)

He talked to you first, told you his name and that he was in a band called Big Sleep. You introduced yourself, telling him you just moved here from Leeds. During class he would sneak glances, you didn’t notice them, but felt someone was gazing.

Source: PropTiger Commercial Report (Q1 2025)

The Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 1) #153: The Longest Hundred Yards!
Read Date: August, 2023 Cover Date: February 1976 ● Writer: Len Wein ● Penciler: Ross Andru ● Inker: Mike Esposito ● Colorist: Glynis Wein ● Letterer: John Costanza ● Editor: Len Wein ●

**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers (👏=didn't like it, 👏👏=it was ok, 👏👏👏=I liked it, 👏👏👏👏=I really liked it!, 👏👏👏👏👏=I loved it!)
Reactions As I Read: ● oh FFS, Peter, Mary Jane was giving you the chance to talk and you handle it like that?

● aww, poor birb! ● I hope Mindy gets a good therapist… ● 👏👏👏
Synopsis: After a long bout of studying, Peter Parker goes web-slinging out as Spider-Man. It is a quiet night until he spots a taxi cab moving by blinking its duty light on and off as if in distress. Spider-Man swings down and forces the cab to crash. Two gunmen emerge from the back of the cab, but Spider-Man easily dispatches them. In the aftermath of the battle, the taxi driver complains about the damage done to his cab. Spider-Man attempts to use his spider-strength to fix the car, but this fails. Fed up with the cabbies ungratefulness, Spidey swings away, telling the driver to have his insurance pay for it.
That afternoon, Peter Parker arrives at Empire State University in the hopes of getting a chance to talk to Mary Jane. As he arrives he spots her buying ice cream with Flash Thompson and Harry Osborn. When he tries to get Mary Jane to talk to him privately, she attempts to brush him off because she is still angry with him leaving her alone at a party. Picking up on the scene, Flash and Harry decide to give the pair some time alone. Peter points out how Mary Jane was fighting to keep him when they thought Gwen Stacy was back from the dead, and questions why she is being distant with him now. When she tells him that she realized he isn't worth fighting for, Peter gets angry and is about to storm off, when Mary Jane cracks and tells him that she lied and invites him to sit down next to her and share her ice cream.
With thing patched up, the pair goes for a walk until they are interrupted by Ned Leeds. Ned is on assignment with the Daily Bugle to interview Bradly Bolton, a former ESU football champ who became a computer wizard since graduating. He asks Peter to tag along to help him understand the more technical information. They meet Bolton on the football field, and he tells them about how his football career ended during a 100-yard dash that ended in being tackled just before the goal line and lost the game. Bolton then gave up football and delved into computer sciences. Although he misses his glory days, he points out that his career had been good to him, leading to his marriage to his wife Ellen and the birth of his daughter, Mindy. Their interview is interrupted when a note is brought to Bolton. He tells them that he has another appointment and rushes off. As they say farewell to Bradley, Peter can't help but notice the sudden change in Bolton's behavior.
Later, in a nearby park, Bolton meets with Paine, one of the Kingpin's enforcers. His men have taken Mindy hostage and demand that Bolton gives them the final component for a new computer being built that keeps track of criminals worldwide. Paine threatens to kill Mindy if he doesn't comply, but promises to return her unharmed if Bradley does what they demand. That evening, Peter meets up with Mary Jane and Ned at an ESU dance. However, he earns Mary Jane's ire when he cuts in to talk to Ned instead of dancing with her. When Peter asks Leeds if he had a chance to resume his interview, but learns that Bolton has been occupied with something else. Peter spots Bradley and his wife nearby and that they appear to be troubled about something. However, Peter decides to worry about this later so he can get back in Mary Jane's good graces. Peter saves face by starting to dance with Mary Jane. However, Peter can't help but pay attention to the Boltons and notes that Bradley leaves abruptly and is troubled by something. Concerned for his well-being, Peter leaves Mary Jane to dance with Harry Osborn, much to her annoyance so he can investigate things further.
Peter follows Bolton to the football team locker room where he witnesses Bolton taking a bag out of one of the lockers. Bolton goes back to the football field where Paine and his armed minions are waiting for him with Mindy. When he turns over the money, Paine decides to keep Mindy in order to prevent Bradley from going to the police. Demanding that his daughter be set free, Bradley runs the hundred yards to try and rescue his daughter. Paine's men begin opening fire, but Bolton tries to dodge them. Although he has been shot, Bradley manages to catch up to Paine and wrest his daughter away from him. It's at this point that Peter arrives as Spider-Man and begins fighting off the gunmen and easily takes them down. With the danger over, Spider-Man checks on Bradley Bolton, who is dying from the gunshot wounds he suffered. Spider-Man assures him that his daughter is safe. Bolton then dies on the very goal line that eluded him so many years earlier.

Enhancing Beauty Through Precision in Cosmetic Surgery
For people who hope to improve the way they look with careful dedication and skill, breast plastic surgery has turned out to be a revolutionary kind of solution. In Leeds, this sector is active with a variety of specialized services meant to meet diverse aesthetic concepts, starting from imperceptible adjustments to stunning changes. Cosmetic surgery at the Leeds Breast and Cosmetic Clinic with Philip Turton, has personalized solutions for every individual need, which might include breast uplift, breast reduction, augmentation and replacement surgery.
Cosmetic Surgery in Leeds is facilitated by improvements in medical technology and techniques to ensure that patients acquire safe, efficient treatments from skilled personnel. Not only does each procedure intend to improve external beauty but it also enhances the self-confidence and the general wellness of the patient. Cosmetic surgeons in Leeds help patients attain aesthetic outcomes that are consistent with their notions of beauty by blending their artistic skills with medical knowledge.
Why Choose Cosmetic Surgery?
Various reasons underlie people’s decision to go for cosmetic surgery. Some do it to correct physical imperfections that hinder their self-confidence, whereas others desire to get rid of marks of ageing or to change certain features. In Leeds, experienced cosmetic surgeons use modern methods as well as technologies for good results, which are often a combination of art and medicine.
Popular Cosmetic Breast Procedures in Leeds
Breast Augmentation: To increase breast and form size by employing inserts or exchanging fat tissues.
Breast Reduction: Reducing the breast volume often by at least 50%.
Breast Uplift: Reshaping the breast. Removes sag and elevates nipple position for a more youthful look.
Explantation and Mastopexy: Removal of old implants and skin tightened to leave a better result.
Choosing a Cosmetic Surgeon in Leeds
It is essential to pick the correct surgeon if safe results are to be obtained. It is not enough just to read patient feedback comments or glossy websites or marketing puff. Potential clients should also find out about the doctor’s qualifications and the area within which they specialise. Avoid a jack of all trades surgeon and chose an established highly rated hospital over a small clinic facility. If you any doubts or you feel you have a disagreement, you should look for another specialist before making a choice. Concerns can be discussed with the practitioner through personal conversation thereby clarifying anticipated outcomes and establishing individual healing protocols.
The Consultation Process: In the first meeting, the doctor goes through the patient’s medical history, sets goals together with the individual, and carries out a bodily examination which helps to ascertain if surgery is viable as well as maintain healthy expectations. This should be a thorough process and be done by the surgeon who is looking after you. Where these processes are done by a nurse assigned by a cosmetic clinic you should be concerned that you are in a conveyor belt system and alarm bells might sound. You should to be offered inducements.
Safety and Regulations: In Leeds, cosmetic surgery with a specialist has to adhere to safety regulations that are strict; furthermore there are ethical standards which are followed throughout the process of before surgery, after surgery until full recovery; the surgeon puts into place a series of measures to enhance patient safety while working from an authorized facility. Ideally a CQC hospital rated as Good or Outstanding.
Surgery for beauty enhancement in Leeds is a pathway for individuals to refine their looks precisely and tenderly. Cosmetic Surgery in Leeds has experienced surgeons and modernized facilities needed for breast rejuvenation as well as reshaping. Before opting for minor alterations or dramatic ones, it is vital to visit a qualified Leeds-based oncoplastic or cosmetic street surgeon for personalized attention and beautiful effects.

How to Accumulate LEED Certification Points and Credits
We as an LEED Consultancy, the objective of LEED is to take into account essential components that combine to make better buildings that have a positive impact on the following "impact categories" in the world: water resources, human health, biodiversity and ecosystems, climate change, recyclable and sustainable materials, the green economy, and the community. Each green building component of a site receives points based on how it contributes to these larger LEED objectives. Nonetheless, some elements are given more weight than others regarding grading. For instance, components of green buildings that affect climate change are weighted higher than components that affect water resources. The LEED certifiers who inspect the house will assign points on the scorecard according to the particular certification path that has been chosen; the total impact of each scoring item determines how much weight each item has. The overall scores determine the LEED certification levels.
In our opinion as LEED Consultant, establish a solid overall budget and the LEED certification level you want to achieve before starting the design phase of your project. Add an optional higher certification aim or "stretch" goal to encourage inventiveness. Budgeting for higher LEED certification levels, like Platinum, is necessary because they come with additional costs. Achieving your LEED target within budget should be the project team's priority during the design and construction phases. Keep your project's economic and environmental integrity intact at all times. Consider how green initiatives will impact costs during the building's lifetime as you value-engineer your project. Consider a feature's relationship to other features before deciding to remove it to see whether maintaining it will help you achieve cost-saving synergies and LEED credits. These advantages positively impact climate change, human health, biodiversity, water resources, material resources, the green economy, and community development.
We are renowned LEED Certification in Dubai, Numerous energy-saving features pay for themselves instantly or in a few months of operation, allowing for downsizing, removing, removing additional equipment, or lowering total capital expenditures. Instead of starting with "first cost" value engineering, set your targets for "life cycle" value engineering. Numerous architects, consultants, engineers, product marketers, environmentalists, and other specialists in the construction business across the nation possess proven expertise in green building and the LEED rating system and procedure, making them capable of helping you achieve your LEED objective. These experts can make cost-effective suggestions for obtaining LEED points, show you how to balance out certain costs with savings from other areas and help you find areas where your project can work together. Because of a higher population density and a smaller land area, some homeowners may find it difficult or impossible to meet the above standards. However, there are other approaches to raising an area's sustainable quality.
In our role as LEED Certification in UAE, Different sustainable construction components are given points under the LEED point system, determining whether a building is certified at the silver, gold, or platinum level. Regardless of the level attained, achieving LEED certification is an outstanding achievement. On the other hand, homes that receive Platinum or Gold LEED certification are considered the epitome of green building. These LEED certification levels call for creative design thinking and a sincere love of the environment. Respected for their energy efficiency, accessibility to public transportation, minimal water waste, clean indoor air quality, use of recyclable or healthy materials, and efforts to maintain a sustainable construction site throughout the building process, LEED properties—especially those with Gold and Platinum scores—are highly regarded.

How Construction Scheduling Software Enhances Sustainable Construction

In the ever-evolving landscape of construction, sustainability has emerged as a paramount concern. As the world recognizes the urgency of mitigating environmental impact, construction companies are increasingly adopting sustainable practices. One significant tool in this endeavor is construction scheduling software. In this blog post, we'll explore how construction scheduling software can significantly contribute to improving sustainable construction practices.
Introduction to Construction Scheduling Software
Before delving into its role in sustainable construction, let's first understand what construction scheduling software is. Essentially, it's a digital tool designed to streamline the planning, scheduling, and management of construction projects. It enables project managers to efficiently allocate resources, track progress, and coordinate tasks, ultimately ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Enhancing Resource Optimization
Construction projects consume vast amounts of resources, including materials, energy, and manpower. Efficient resource management is crucial for reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact. Construction scheduling software plays a vital role in this aspect by optimizing resource allocation.
By accurately forecasting project timelines and resource requirements, construction scheduling software helps prevent over-ordering of materials and excessive resource utilization. This not only reduces costs but also minimizes waste, making construction processes more sustainable.
Moreover, some advanced scheduling software integrates resource tracking features, allowing project managers to monitor resource usage in real-time. This real-time visibility enables prompt adjustments to resource allocation, ensuring optimal utilization throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitating Collaboration and Communication
Effective collaboration and communication among project stakeholders are essential for successful project delivery. Construction scheduling software facilitates seamless communication and collaboration by providing a centralized platform for sharing project schedules, updates, and documentation.
Through features like shared calendars, task assignments, and instant messaging, construction scheduling software fosters collaboration among project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. This enhanced communication streamlines workflow coordination, reduces delays, and improves overall project efficiency.
By minimizing communication barriers and promoting transparency, construction scheduling software contributes to smoother project execution, thereby supporting sustainable construction practices.
Streamlining Project Workflow
The construction process involves numerous interdependent tasks that must be executed in a sequential and coordinated manner. Any disruption or delay in one task can cascade throughout the project, leading to schedule overruns and cost escalation.
Construction scheduling software streamlines project workflow by creating detailed schedules that outline task dependencies, deadlines, and resource requirements. With features like critical path analysis and Gantt charts, project managers can identify potential bottlenecks and optimize scheduling to mitigate risks of delays.
By minimizing project duration and optimizing workflow efficiency, construction scheduling software helps reduce the environmental footprint associated with construction activities. Shorter project durations mean less energy consumption, reduced emissions, and lower environmental impact, aligning with sustainable construction objectives.
Ensuring Compliance with Green Building Standards
Green building standards and certifications, such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), play a significant role in promoting sustainable construction practices. Compliance with these standards requires meticulous planning and documentation throughout the construction process.
Construction scheduling software can aid in ensuring compliance with green building standards by facilitating the integration of sustainability requirements into project schedules. By incorporating tasks related to energy-efficient design, waste management, and environmental monitoring, project managers can align project activities with green building objectives.
Additionally, construction scheduling software can generate reports and documentation necessary for green building certifications, simplifying the process of demonstrating compliance to regulatory authorities and certification bodies.
Conclusion
Construction scheduling software offers a multitude of benefits that not only improve project efficiency but also contribute to advancing sustainable construction practices. From resource optimization and collaboration facilitation to workflow streamlining and green building compliance, the role of construction scheduling software in sustainable construction is undeniable.
As construction companies continue to prioritize sustainability, embracing technology like construction scheduling software becomes imperative. By harnessing the power of digital tools, we can build a more sustainable future for the construction industry and the planet.

read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/Njvi3U7 by alienspronkles Unfortunately Parker luck strikes again when a teacher has it out for the entire class and assigns a homework assignment that is basically impossible. The assignment is to answer questions that can be answered in a museum in New York, which should be relatively easy. Except this week the museum is closed, and the assignment is due in a few days. And what doesn’t help at all is the questions are absolutely ridiculous since the teacher wants everyone to fail. While Peter is at the Avengers Tower with Ned and MJ, Tony sees them stressing out. Peter explains the situation and Tony and a few Avengers essentially break into the museum so the three of them can get their homework done.
