This is one of my favourite moments of the series.

The fact that they address whether it's healthy and that the demons are close enough to her to genuinely worry for her, and she them, makes me so happy.

It's something I love and it's an interesting view on the relationship not only between Syalis and her father, but her and the demons as well.

Leo Respecting And Valuing Suya

Leo once said in the body pillow incident;

And while words aren't convincing, I had an impression that Leo wouldn't do something improper to Suya while still having deep feelings for her. So when presented with a body-swapping trope, it makes me see how much Leo respects and values Suya.

In a typical body-swapping trope (especially if it's shounen), the boy won't hesitate to be inappropriate and touch the girl's body he's in without her consent. But since this is Leo, he completely avoids that part of the trope. Leo may easily be jealous and hostile to other men to the point of doing questionable things (at least now he doesn't try to harm them, he's just very competitive with them and can be petty about it), but he loves, respects, and values Suya as a person. Leo cares too much about what she thinks of him, he cares too much about not imposing himself on her boundaries, he cares too much about what she wants, and he cares too much about prioritizing her comfort and happiness over his. That's just how Leo is.

And I love and respect him for that. (On a side note, I love that with Leo's tendency to frequently think about worst case scenarios, he's prepared himself for situations like this one lol.)

She can quickly fall asleep almost anywhere, even in the most perilous of situations, but prizes quality of sleep above all else. Although kidnapped and held captive by the Demon King Twilight, this has done nothing to sway her from her obsession - to the point that breaking free of her cell, terrorizing the Demon King's minions, and crafting ever-more-superior bedding from their remains is a daily routine to her. So recklessly dedicated is she to the pursuit of a good night's sleep that she has lost all fear of death, having died and been resurrected several times during the course of her misadventures. Despite all this, Syalis has grown close to the monsters of the Demon King Castle, and - when not hunting them down for bedding materials - will often help them with their issues because doing good deeds helps her sleep better, too. Other miscellaneous Princess Syalis facts: her weapon of choice is a giant pair of scissors. She is especially fond of the Teddy Demons, who have grown so attached to her in turn that they'll readily do her bidding. She actually has a very strong work ethic (because the sooner she finishes all her work, the sooner she can go to sleep). She is self-conscious of her short tongue. She seems to have some form of face blindness, as she mostly tells people apart by their clothing.

Sya spends her entire captivity in the Demon Castle wreaking havoc in order to sleep the most and best she ever has. Her sleepiness is not only in her own name ("Sya" is like "zzz" in Japanese), but in the title of her entire series!

she just wants to sleep in the most comfortable fashion possible. that's it. that's the plot. also she is a menace when she is awake.

The entire anime revolves around the princess of the human kingdom trying to get a good night's sleep! She uses a demon's horns to sand something down & is more of a threat to the demons than them to her most of the time. Also, her interactions with the hero trying to save her are hilarious

She spends every episode just trying to get the best sleep possible. She will see something she believes will be so so so comfy and risk her entire well being to get to the comfy spot. Bonus demons working to ensure she gets what she wants because they are scared of her even though they took her prisoner.

Her main goal in life is to sleep. She causes utter chaos just so she can get a good sleep. She destroys parts of the demon castle, kills demons(there's a guy who revives them so this isn't permanent) and occasionally dies in order to get bedding material for a good sleep.

This girl will literally kill for some rest.

Jade Harley:

She has narcolepsy due to some meddling from another character, but it's narcolepsy nonetheless. She spends a lot of time sleeping, but that does hold her back as she's able to get a lot done on Prospit (a sort of dream world). She cares a lot about her friends and has a lot of interests like nuclear physics, cartoons, her dog, and being a markswoman.

She loves sleeping and dreaming!

She's got narcolepsy (....kinda, it's complicated) so for most of her initial appearances that girlie is just off in sleepy town, absolute snoozeville. Also I have great respect for her ability to look so comfy while sleeping in objectively uncomfy places, like a greenhouse floor

sometimes the world just needs a sleepy whimsical puppy girl. that's how it is

she falls asleep at random moments, and she has a robot that acts out her dreams for her so she doesn't sleepwalk and potentially get hurt, but the effect of this is her online friends aren't always sure when chatting with her whether she's awake or asleep. they don't tend to realize they're talking to dreambot jade until she says something completely bizarre and nonsensical, but then sometimes she says strange and silly things while awake because she's a very silly girl (/positive) and trying to parse whether a thing she said is just her being silly vs her being asleep can be difficult. also she sometimes has visions of real events happening somewhere or some*when* else in her sleep.

SuyaLight Master Post Part 13

I really like these two there’s not a lot of content for the fandom as a whole soooo here’s my submission as I get every moment of these two royals who literally share a braincell (and I love them for it) First up this is just on the manga if you are anime only its going to have stuff you havent seen, yes even with what the anime covers (so read it) and there will be spoilers so beware. If you prefer Demon Monk/Cleric/Leo (which I don’t really get) I am sorry this isnt for you. Lets go! Twilight wants to spend time with Posiden but he’s nervous so he tries to get Suya to come

Suya thinks it’s weird cause she’s not good at reading people

SO she tries to just get Twilight calling him like he’s not the demon king and notes he’s good at making tools

So she gets dragged on their fishing trip

But she doesn’t get the point of it

They try to scold her over it

Because of Suya the two have a heart to heart where this is resolution and SUya gets to eat with them

Suya is hanging out with Twilights dad who appears like a child and Suya is unaware just enjoys playing with a cute kid, but musican is trying to stop her from revealing too much, yet SUya just always seems to talk about Twilight

He wants to hear futuredaughterinlaws I mean Suya’s opinion on Twilight

She thinks Twilight is fine as he is and sees how he’s changing

This chapter is the absolute cutest

Twilight wants to check in on the demon school undercover and they realize Suya is the most suitable amoung them to join him, reluctantly

Its obvious she just wants to play around but then 

So does Twilight, neither of them ever had a normal school experience and want to do so.

Suya gives a heartfelt explaination

But Twilight still knows its a bad idea

But he should really know better by now

Anyway they go and get seen by Musician whos teaching that day in their not all that good student disguises. 

Suya starts eating secretly in class, Twilight notices and wants some

And she happily shares

They even share a note

And accidently causing musican more stress

Suya brought a heated bento but wasn’t aware they are too cute together

I mean look at these dorks

But they don’t get introuble

The two are getting disillusioned with school life

They both really played up school life in their heads and hoped to get the full experience in a day

On the offhanded mention of dorms they both cheer up look at these dorks

As Twilight goes on about how lovely this is

But musican reminds him its not that different from the situation at the castle

Twilight is such a romantic that Suya kills

Musican’s words strike the right cord and the two are happy to return

Like how can you read these chapters and not think the two suit each other

322: On A White Day, Leo Goes All-Out On A Cake & Cake Detail Analysis

Looking back on this chapter, I've realized Leo didn't make a white day cake for Suya on a whim. He planned all this out from start to finish. Basically, besides baking the foundation/cake, he's planned the design of the cake and chocolate decorations on paper before hand-making chocolate molds of specific shapes and sizes himself, making sure the chocolate ganache (pretty sure he could've used pre-made chocolate to melt it but knowing Leo, he's also made the chocolate from scratch) forming in the molds don't break while freezing them before assembling them together in the cake, and that the structure must be balanced.

Design-wise as an overall, it's such a neat and sweet concept; the cake is a bed with a chocolate bed frame, a pillow in the design that Suya usually makes them, and the cream acts as the hems of the blanket with strawberries beside it. And above the bed is a slide of sorts that the chocolate-made Teddy Demons can have fun with. The slide then has a Teddy Demon face brand with Suya's signature weapon and the most I find interesting is on top is a ring of white and black chocolate circles; if you look at it closely, it's the moon phases which two chocolate Teddy Demons are staring at. If you've noticed lately in MaoYasu, instead of star eyes, sometimes Suya's eyes take the form of moon phases when something important happens (like the homeless arc). To think Leo has noticed this about her and added it as part of his cake for her with all the things she likes. How sweet of him.

She's not just sleepy - she adores sleep and does everything she can think of to elevate the experience. Her relentless search for the perfect night's rest has turned her into an innovator, a connoisseur, and an unstoppable juggernaut. Hell, her love of sleep is the driving force of her whole damn series! But she's not particularly well-known in Tumblr circles, so - even despite placing third in the total number of submissions - she got knocked out in the very first round due to getting matched against Jade Harley (no shade toward Jade; it's just that - let's face it - Homestuck has a massive star power advantage on this site). Sure, the Princess would've eventually been knocked out by a more popular character anyway - but even so, she deserves the opportunity to show how strong a contender she could have been had it not been for that initial stroke of ill fortune.
